A tribal longspear was a melee weapon that was basically a blade attached to a 2 meter long shaft. It couldn't be thrown, but had a long reach and allowed its user to attack targets several meters away.

Longspears were easy to construct and were often used in primitive societies. They were also used as ornamental or ceremonial weapons. They were largely replaced by force pikes.
