Trinary
Trinary was a machine language used by the Brrbrlpp on the planet Esfandia. It was taught to them prior to the Yuuzhan Vong War by Si, the Gran commander of the Esfandia Long-Range Communications Base, who surmised that the species had a unique culture while he studied them during his off-hours. As it was easier for the base's crew to understand than the Brrbrlpp's native tongue, the Brrbrlpp began communicating with the crew using trinary, keeping the crew informed of their whereabouts and movements at all times in order to prevent accidental deaths.[1]

Behind the scenes
Edit
Trinary was created by Sean Williams for the 2003 novel Force Heretic III: Reunion, which he authored along with Shane Dix. Williams was surprised to learn that the language did not already exist in Star Wars canon, and when asked in an interview to explain it, stated that it was "like binary but with three digits instead of two."[2]
