The Ulgo family was a merchant family from Taris with many enemies. The assassin Selven was hired by an unknown party, possibly the rival House of Organa, to eliminate them. Within a standard month, the Ulgo family had been entirely removed from Taris by Selven, gaining her a bounty posting from the Republic.

Republic ensign Trask Ulgo was possibly related to this family, though he was not killed by the assassin.

During the Great Galactic War, a member of the House of Ulgo, Bouris Ulgo seized control of Alderaan after the death of Crown Prince Gaul Panteer and his mother, the queen and declared martial law and made himself king. Then he began to go mad.
