Umjing Baab and His Swinging Trio were an orchestra-band that performed on the Queen of Empire. Songs of theirs included "Smoky Dreams" and "Mood and Moons". They played several genres of music, including swing-bop and modern jizz selections.

Though the band's name might seem to imply a total of four members including bandleader Umjing Baab, Baab was apparently considered a part of the "swinging trio", as there were only two other members in the group. All three band members were of the Rughja species.

Bria Tharen, while traveling undercover as a cabaret singer named "Bria Lavval", once performed with the group.
