A clone trooper served in the 501st Legion of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. In 19 BBY, the clone trooper and the 501st Legion attacked the Jedi Temple on the capital planet Coruscant, shortly before Order 66 was issued, which deemed all Jedi as traitors of the Galactic Republic. After the trooper and the 501st Legion captured the temple and killed most of the Jedi inside, the trooper and several squads of additional clone troopers were tasked with garrisoning the building. While standing guard at the temple, the trooper was later killed by Jedi Grand Master Yoda.

BiographyEdit

A clone trooper was one of the many clones of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett bred on the planet Kamino to fight in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.^[1] The clone trooper was assigned to the Grand Army's elite 501st Legion.^[2][3]

In 19 BBY, the final year of the war, the 501st Legion—under the command of the Sith Lord Darth Vader—was tasked with capturing the Jedi Temple on the galactic capital planet Coruscant. The assault was ordered by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who was in truth the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, as part of his plan to take control of the Galactic Republic. After Vader and the 501st Legion began their assault on the Jedi Temple, Palpatine issued Order 66, which branded all Jedi as traitors of the Republic. After the clone legion captured the temple and killed most Jedi inside, the trooper and several other squads of clones were tasked with garrisoning the remains of the building to counter possible attacks of surviving Jedi.^[2]

During their guard duty outside the Jedi Temple, the trooper and his comrades were attacked by Jedi Grand Master Yoda and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had arrived at the temple. Despite their numeric advantage, the trooper and his squad were quickly decimated by the Jedi Masters. The trooper himself engaged Yoda, but he met his end when the Jedi Master threw his lightsaber at him, impaling and killing the trooper.^[2]

Personality and traitsEdit

The trooper, like his clone imprint, Jango Fett, stood 1.83 meters tall.^[1] Although he was a member of the elite 501st Legion,^[3] he was quickly killed by Yoda. In combat, the trooper was armed with a DC-15S blaster and wore Phase II clone trooper armor with blue markings^[2]—the color of the 501st Legion.^[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

The clone trooper appeared as an unidentified character in George Lucas's 2005 film, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Later, an action figure of the clone being impaled by Yoda's lightsaber was released by Sideshow Collectibles.
