Following the attempted assassination of Senator Padmé Amidala during her political mission to Alderaan, padawan Ahsoka Tano devised a trap to catch the assassin Aurra Sing by having this BD-3000 luxury droid, wreathed in a robe, take Padmé's place at the conference while Padmé castes her speech through the droid via telecommunication from her quarters.
