A Sith Lord was a ruling member among the Sith during the Sith Civil War,[1] which took place during the time period known as the Dark Wars.[2] In 3,951 BBY, the Jedi Knight Meetra Surik[3] defeated the Sith Triumvirate, consisting of Darth Sion, Darth Traya, and Darth Nihilus. After their deaths and the obliteration of the other Sith due to in–fighting in 3,950 BBY,[2] the Sith Lord managed to survive the conflict, continuing the Sith teachings and the usage of the "Darth" title. The Sith Lord's actions enabled the organization's traditions to be passed down during the centuries to come.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Sith Lord's only mention in the Star Wars canon came in The New Essential Chronology, written by Daniel Wallace and released on October 25, 2005.
