In 17 ABY, a gray-haired Gotal visited the Crystal Jewel casino on Coruscant, the galactic capital, and entered into a game of sabacc against a Brubb, a Ssty and a Tin-Tin Dwarf. In one hand, the Gotal bet all that it owned, betraying its nervousness by shedding piles of hair—a condition that most Gotals had learned to control.^[1] Shortly after this hand, an explosion went off in the nearby Senate Hall, which damaged the casino, leading to many of its patrons fleeing the premises.^[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

Kristine Kathryn Rusch created this Gotal for her novel, The New Rebellion, published by Bantam Spectra in 1996. In a later scene in the book that is also set in the Crystal Jewel casino, another Gotal is mentioned. It is possible these were intended to be the same individual but this is not confirmed.
