The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

"Thank you, Obi-Wan! I have much to tell you about these thugs. They are receiving large shipments of arms and plan on turning Coruscant into a war zone."
―The Quarren to Kenobi[1]

A male Quarren informant worked for the Senate Guard[2] in 32 BBY.[3] He infiltrated the Black Heth gang on the planet of Coruscant but was discovered and captured. The Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi was sent to rescue the informant from the construction site he was being held at. At the beginning of his infiltration, Kenobi was contacted by his Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, who cautioned the younger Jedi to not raise any alarms, as the Black Heth might kill the informant; Kenobi could monitor the informant on his comlink. Kenobi then fought his way down into the facility, eliminating the Black Heth thugs and their droids before they could set off an alarm. At the time, the Quarren was being interrogated to discover his identity. Kenobi was able to rescue the informant before his impending execution. The informant thanked the young Jedi and reported that the Black Heth was importing weapons. The two then left the facility.[1]

The Quarren was referred to as a "brave friend" by Master Jinn.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Quarren informant appears in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Obi-Wan during the game's first chapter in the mission The Informant. The player, in the guise of Kenobi, must infiltrate the Black Heth warehouse and rescue the informant. If the player fails to subdue the guards before they trigger an alarm, the Black Heth executes the informant and the mission fails. In the game, the Quarren informant is said to be working for the Coruscant Guard.

The character was credited as "Coruscant Informer" and was voiced by Joe Paulino.

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Star Wars: Obi-Wan
  2. 2.0 2.1 The game refers to the Coruscant Guard. However, the Coruscant Guard, as an actual police force, was not established till 22 BBY according to the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia as well as other sources. Furthermore, in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, the Coruscant Guard entry states that it was a title sometimes used for the Senate Guard before the formation of the clone Coruscant Guard unit. As such, this article assumes Coruscant Guard, in reference to the game, refers to the Senate Guard.
  3. This event takes place before the Invasion of Naboo. The New Essential Chronology establishes on page 40 that the invasion happens in 32 BBY.
