A number of Rodian Jedi Knights served the Jedi Order throughout the rule of the Galactic Republic.

BiographiesEdit

Early Galactic RepublicEdit

In 3,964 BBY, a Rodian Jedi was one of the first of his Order to be captured by the Mandalorians and sent to Flashpoint Station. There, the Zeltron scientist Demagol experimented on the Rodian, along with the Jedi's Human companion, trying to discover the secret of the Jedi Order's Force abilities. The Rodian did not survive long before Demagol's investigations killed the Jedi.^[1]

Three hundred years later, in 3,653 BBY, a Rodian Jedi was a member of the Jedi Order protecting in the Coruscant Jedi Temple. The Temple contained the defense grid mainframe for the planet's deflector shield; consequently, the Temple was targeted by the Sith Empire in their bid to attack the galactic capital. This Rodian was among those slaughtered by Darth Malgus of the Sith during their assault on the Temple.^[2]

Circa Clone WarsEdit

In 33 BBY, another Rodian helped defend the Coruscant Jedi Temple when it was raided by the Yinchorri. While the Jedi were successful in repelling the invaders, Jedi Knight Tieren Nie-Tan was slain. This Jedi was among those mourning his death.^[3]

Later in 22 BBY, a Rodian Jedi Knight was present at the Coruscant Jedi Temple when word of the capture Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala on Geonosis reached the Temple. As such, he was part of the task force of 200 Jedi sent to Geonosis to rescue the three from the Separatist leaders. He fought alongside Lumas Etima and a Twi'lek Jedi in the Petranaki arena. The Jedi Order sustained heavy losses during the course of the battle and it is not known whether this Jedi survived the battle.^[4]

A Rodian Padawan was in training at the Coruscant Jedi Temple in this year, and was a peer to the Togruta Ahsoka Tano.^[5] Another Rodian Padawan from this era trained alongside Sha Koon.^[6]

Shortly after this in 21.83 BBY, a Rodian Jedi was present at the briefing led by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi prior to the First Battle of Kamino. He flew a Delta-7 light interceptor with a team of other Jedi as part of the starfighter defense of Kamino.^[7]

While Order 66, carried out during the final stages of the Clone Wars, saw the death of the vast majority of the Jedi Order,^[8] one Rodian Jedi survived. He was present on the planet Shumari along with numerous other Jedi during a battle against the Darth Vader and the forces of the Galactic Empire. Many of the Jedi were massacred, although at least one, Tao, survived to be trained by Lord Vader.^[9]

Behind the scenesEdit

None of these Rodian Jedi have been identified by name. Consequently, it is possible for the four Jedi active around the Clone Wars to all to be the same individual. However, as there has been no canonical indication either way, this article assumes the they are separate individuals.

The information on the second Jedi mentioned above is derived from an action figure created by Hasbro and released in 2003 as a three Jedi box set in the Clone Wars line.
