An Unidentified Clone Gunner was a member of Shadow Squadron during the Clone Wars. Around 21 BBY, the gunner, who flew with pilot Contrail, and the rest of Shadow Squadron, lead by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, went on a mission to destroy a new Confederacy of Independent Systems superweapon the Malevolence, a Subjugator-class heavy cruiser.

After leaving the Resolute, a Venator-class Star Destroyer, the squadron followed the Balmorra Run into the Kaliida Nebula. While flying through the nebula, the squad encountered a group of giant Neebray Mantas that were nesting. The squadron continued through with little damage except for the gunner's astromech droid, which lost its head.
