"One day soon the Selkath will pay for the indignities they have inflicted on the Sith!"
―The Sith diplomat speaking to Revan after his hearing had ended[src]

This Sith diplomat was a male Human present on Manaan when Revan, a Jedi Padawan, visited the planet during the Jedi Civil War in 3,956 BBY. The diplomat represented a group of Sith soldiers, who were involved in a brawl with a group of Republic soldiers, during a hearing in the Ahto High Court. Both sides were found to be at fault and were fined by the Ahto City Civil Authority. The diplomat later represented Dark Jedi Elassa Huros as a Arbiter in the murder trial brought against Republic hero Sunry. Sunry was found innocent and Elassa's killer was never found.

Biography

"They say everyone on Manaan is equal. But it seems the Republic is a little more equal than the Sith. Neutrality? Ha! That's a laugh!"
―The Sith diplomat expressing his opinion of the Selkath's laws.[src]

The Human male Sith diplomat was stationed on Manaan during the Jedi Civil War[1] in 3,956 BBY,[2][3] and while in the middle of a hearing, Revan, a Jedi Order Padawan, entered the Ahto High Court. A Republic representative was also present in the courtroom. The hearing was the result of a violent brawl between several Republic and Sith soldiers. Manaan's neutrality laws forbade open aggression between the two sides on Manaan during the war, and so they were brought to trial for the incident. The diplomat argued that his soldiers should not be punished for winning a fair fight. The Republic representative rebuked this claim, stating six against three was hardly a fair fight. The Republic agent informed the court that his men had been goaded into the fight, but the judges decreed that words were not sufficient provocation and the Ahto City Civil Authority fined both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic 10,000 credits for the incident.[1]

The diplomat later represented the Sith Empire, and namely their Dark Jedi agent Elassa Huros, as a Arbiter in a murder trial against Republic hero Sunry. Revan agreed to act as Arbiter for Sunry. Several witnesses were called during the trial, including hotel owner Ignus, pazaak player Firith Me, a Rodian named Gluupor, Sunry's wife Elora, and Sunry himself. Both sides questioned each of the witnesses extensively, and Sunry was eventually found innocent of all charges. Elassa's murderer was never identified.[4][1]

Personality and traits

The diplomat was very arrogant, believing that Sith victory in the war was inevitable and that the Selkath should abandon their neutrality and align with the Sith, or they might be forced to do so in the future. He believed that the Selkath, while claiming neutrality on the surface, were actually biased against the Sith. He was completely and utterly loyal to Malak's Sith Empire.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Sith diplomat appears in the Xbox and PC role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic when the player visits Manaan and enters the Selkath courtroom in Ahto City for the first time. It is possible to speak to him after the scene has concluded, to which he spouts several pro-Sith phrases to the player, like the one above. He later acts as Arbiter for the Sith in the trial against Sunry. In the game, it is possible for the diplomat to win in the trial against Sunry if the player reveals the truth of what Sunry did. However, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia states that Sunry was the victim of a Sith plot and was found innocent. The diplomat is not seen in-game again after the conclusion of the Sunry murder trial.[1]

This diplomat and Grann have the same character model in the video game,[1] as well as both being voiced by the same voice actor, Cam Clarke.[5] They are both given the generic name of Sith Diplomat as well; however, they are separate characters.[1]
