A member of the Swokes Swokes species lived during the final years of the Galactic Republic. In 32 BBY, the individual served Yeb Yeb Adem'thorn, a Swokes Swokes senator who represented the planet Makem Te in the Galactic Senate on the Republic's capital world of Coruscant. The individual was present with Adem'thorn and another member of the species inside the Grand Convocation Chamber of the Senate Building when Queen Padmé Amidala of the planet Naboo called for a Vote of No Confidence in the Republic's Supreme Chancellor, Finis Valorum.

BiographyEdit

An individual of the Swokes Swokes species was alive during the Galactic Republic's waning years.^[1] During the year 32 BBY,^[3] the Swokes Swokes was serving^[1] Senator Yeb Yeb Adem'thorn, who was a Swokes Swokes delegate for the planet Makem Te. Adem'thorn represented the world in the Galactic Senate of the Republic,^[2] which was headquartered on the Republic capital planet Coruscant.^[1] On one occasion, the Swokes Swokes was present with Adem'thorn and another member of the species in a repulsorpods inside the Coruscant Senate Building's Grand Convocation Chamber when Queen Padmé Amidala of the planet Naboo came to the Senate to request aid against the Trade Federation's invading Droid Army. When she realized that she would not receive aid quickly enough, the Queen called for a Vote of No Confidence in Finis Valorum, the Republic's Supreme Chancellor. The three Swokes Swokes all raised their arms in response,^[1] and Adem'thorn supported the motion,^[4] which ended in Valorum's defeat.^[1]

Personality and traitsEdit

The Swokes Swokes had black eyes and pale skin.^[2] While with Adem'thorn in the Senate when Queen Amidala called for the Vote of No Confidence in Chancellor Valorum, the Swokes Swokes wore a green robe. The Swokes Swokes individual responded to Amidala's call for the vote with lifted arms.^[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Swokes Swokes individual first appeared in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, a 1999 film directed by George Lucas, which introduced the Swokes Swokes species to canon.^[1] In 2001, the Swokes Swokes appeared on Senator Yeb Yeb Adem'thorn's card in Coruscant Limited, the tenth set of the Star Wars Customizable Card Game.^[2] Del Rey's 2008 The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia contained a picture of a Swokes Swokes sitting in a similar position and dressed in similar fashion to the Swokes Swokes from The Phantom Menace, but unlike in the movie, the Swokes Swokes had a protocol droid present nearby.^[5] It is unclear whether the Swokes Swokes pictured is one of the two Swokes Swokes individuals present with Adem'thorn or a completely different character.
