"Back! Only death lies this way!"
Kol Skywalker[src]

This Sith, a male Twi'lek, was a member of the One Sith faction around the time of the Sith-Imperial War, a cooperative effort by the One Sith and Roan Fel's Galactic Empire to eliminate the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. In 130 ABY, Darth Krayt, leader of the One Sith, organized an army of many Sith Lords, as well as a complement of Imperial troops sent to assist them, for an assault on the Ossus Jedi Academy, bent on purging it of Jedi. During the fighting, the Jedi Grand Master, Kol Skywalker, made a last stand to allow other Jedi to escape. He killed many of the opposing force single-handedly, including the Twi'lek Sith, although Skywalker was brought down soon after by Darth Nihl. The two forces successfully sterilized the Academy and scattered the New Jedi Order.

[edit] Biography

This Twi'lek male joined the One Sith during or prior to the Sith-Imperial War, a combined effort by the Sith and the Fel Empire to seize dominant governmental and territorial control of the galaxy from the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances.[1] This conflict caused most of the Galactic Alliance to assimilate into the Empire and forced the New Jedi Order into exile on the planet of Ossus, refusing to assist an Empire allied with the Sith.[3] The Twi'lek was chosen to be part of an army of Sith Lords created for an assault on the Ossus Jedi Temple, the last major Jedi stronghold in the galaxy after the New Jedi Temple on the galactic capital planet of Coruscant fell, becoming the Temple of the Sith, in 130 ABY.[1]

A large force of stormtroopers from the Empire also joined Krayt's Sith army on Ossus after the leader of the One Sith, Darth Krayt, convinced their commander to alter their mission from one of diplomacy to one of violence.[3] The joint operation was led by Krayt's Hand, Darth Nihl[1] and the Ossus Jedi Temple was put under siege. The Twi'lek Sith was among those who stormed into the Temple, fighting to eliminate the Jedi. There, the Sith and stormtroopers killed roughly half of the Jedi there, scattering the rest across the galaxy. They also killed a large number of Yuuzhan Vong shapers that were there to complete an experimental Vong terraforming project.[4]

One group that was being forced out during the fighting consisted primarily of younglings, ushered by Grand Master Kol Skywalker, Jedi Master Wolf Sazen, and their Padawans. The two Masters ordered their students, Shado Vao and Kol's son Cade, to take the younglings to safety aboard a shuttle so they could leave the planet. After Sazen was wounded and taken aboard, Kol made a last stand to buy time for them to take off. He killed many of the opposing force, and among the dead was the Twi'lek, whose sword arm was severed near the elbow by the Jedi leader. Soon after the shuttle took off, Kol was killed by Nihl, and his body rested near this Sith's corpse. The massacre was the official ending of the Sith-Imperial War and the beginning of a third Jedi Purge.[1]

[edit] Personality and traits

The Sith, a red-skinned Twi'lek male, was a member of the One Sith Order led by Darth Krayt.[1] He wielded a red lightsaber when he fought Kol Skywalker on Ossus. Neither his skill with a lightsaber nor those with the Force, if any, were proficient enough for him to be able to survive an encounter with the Grand Master of the New Jedi Order,[1] considered by Yuuzhan Vong Master Shaper Nei Rin to be the Jedi Order's greatest warrior.[4] The Twi'lek had Sith tattoos all along his left lekku and wore armor to protect his torso when in battle.[1]

The death of this Sith

[edit] Behind the scenes

The Twi'lek Sith appeared in the first issue of the comic book series Star Wars: Legacy. He was killed in the same panel where he was first seen but later his head was shown beside Kol Skywalker's fallen body.

This Twi'lek appeared with the red skin pigmentation associated with Lethan Twi'leks. However, it is still unconfirmed if he was of this race as Nautolans,[5] Rodians, Humanoids, and other species have also been shown with abnormally red skin. As well, there were two other Twi'lek members of the One Sith, Darth Talon and Darth Ruyn, who had the same pigmentation.[6] It is unknown if this is alternatively some kind of tattooing, a reaction to the dark side of the Force, or some other option.

This character's death sequence is another sighting of blood from a lightsaber-inflicted wound. When lightsabers cut through flesh, they instantly flash-cauterize the wound, leaving no time for any blood to escape the person's body.[7] This was first seen in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope when Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi in hiding following the rise of the first Galactic Empire, cut off the arm of a smuggler named Ponda Baba in Chalmun's Cantina.
