A Vulture-class droid starfighter was stationed in the Skytop Station on the moon of Ruusan and served under command of General Grievous during the time of the Clone Wars as part of the 88th Flight.
History
Edit
In 22 BBY, the Galactic Republic managed to trace the location of the Separatist listening post, the Skytop Station, and sent a clone strike team lead by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and padawan Ahsoka Tano to take it out.
After arriving inside the station, the team split up, Skywalker going to save the captured astromech droid R2-D2 and Ahsoka remaining with the rest of the clone troopers to plant explosives inside the station. Skywalker eventually managed to find the R2 unit and rendezvoused with the clone troopers inside the hangar, while Ahsoka stayed behind to battle Grievous. Skywalker then ordered R3-S6, the replacement droid for R2-D2, to open the door so they could head back to retrieve Ahsoka. Instead, the astromech droid closed the doors and released a trio of Vulture-class droid starfighters, including this one, which were connected to the hanger's ceiling.
The droids were then joined by B2 battle droid reinforcements and started to attack the Republic forces with their blaster cannons while in walking configuration. The Republic forces were eventually overpowered and were forced to retreat, taking cover behind a stack of crates. Suddenly, padawan Tano showed up, jumping from a vent and landing on top of another Vulture droid's head, steering it right into the firing line of this droid and destroying it. The padawan then jumped onto this droid's head and decapitated it with her lightsaber.
