These inhabitants were a gray-skinned sentient species native to the planet Xantar. Luke Skywalker visited Xantar as a guest of a "Bug-Eyes," a pilot from this species.

Biology and appearance

The species was humanoid in shape, possessing a body plane that included a single head, a torso, two arms and two legs. Compared to Humans, members of that species had unusually large heads in proportion to their bodies. Their skin was completely devoid of hair and was of a light gray hue. Their faces featured large, opaque black eyes and a small mouth, but no apparent noses or outer ears.[1]

Society and culture

By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the gray-skinned species were a space-level civilization, capable of extra-system travel in realspace through the use of saucer-like starships—the design of which resembled[1] a model of gunship used on R-Duba.[2]

History

The gray-skinned species hailed from Xantar,[1] a planet of the Corva sector, in the Outer Rim region of the galaxy.[3] At some point after the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY, a member of the gray-skinned species known as "Bug-Eyes" met the young Human Luke Skywalker, a hero of the Rebel Alliance. Bug-Eyes invited Skywalker to his homeworld of Xantar, where he introduced the Rebel to another Human named Indiana Jones.[1]

Behind the scenes

This species is meant to resemble the common image of aliens believed to visit Earth, known as Greys. A member of the species originally appeared at the end of the Indiana Jones and His Desktop Adventures video game, taking Indy away in his flying saucer. He and Indiana Jones later appeared in Yoda Stories as a reference to that earlier game.
