An arachnoid species was brought into the New Republic in 5 ABY through the negotiations of Leia Organa, just prior to the Battle of Mindor. The arachnoids were native to a minor star cluster. They were hairy and, unlike most arachnoids, had heads like those of humanoids, including mouthfuls of gleaming white teeth, just like those of Humans. During the negotiations, Han Solo found them to be very creepy.
