"After I lost Chewie, I hired a slicer to hack the Empire's networks, see if I could find out anything. While in there, she did me a favor and 'updated' their records on me and the Falcon. I'm listed as dead, and this ship is listed as having gone kaboom."
―Han Solo[src]

In the months following the Battle of Endor, a female slicer was hired by former New Republic general Han Solo to slice into the networks of the Galactic Empire. Solo was searching for information on his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca, who had gone missing during a failed attempt to liberate the planet Kashyyyk from Imperial control. As a favor to Solo, the slicer also modified the Imperial records so that they listed Solo as dead and his ship, the Millennium Falcon, as having been destroyed.[1]

Behind the scenes

The slicer was first mentioned in the novel Aftermath: Life Debt, which was written by Chuck Wendig[1] and published on July 12, 2016.[2]
