A landspeeder was used by Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca to race to Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine to rescue Han Solo, who was held by Jabba, still frozen in carbonite. The speeder was colored purple and had four engines that emitted a blue light, and flew across desert canyons to transport the rescuers near Jabba's Palace.

This landspeeder appeared in the first level of the Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi video game. It was only seen from behind as the player controlled the vehicle to evade obstacles in the desert.
