A starfighter model was used by the Trade Federation Droid Army in 32 BBY. After the Federation invaded the planet of Naboo, it established slave camps on the surface. The Federation employed two of these ships to drop proximity mines at camps along the Andrevea River. The starfighters were destroyed during an encounter with a Naboo pilot, Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes.

Characteristics
Edit
The starfighters featured a blocky underside with a square front and triangular rear. These unshielded craft were capable of deploying floating proximity mines from a rear compartment.[1]
History
Edit
After the Trade Federation invaded the planet Naboo in 32 BBY,[2] its forces began rounding up civilians and placing them in freshly established slave camps. The Trade Federation Droid Army stationed two of these ships to drop mines at a series of camps along the banks of the Andrevea River. The two ships were destroyed and the camps were liberated by Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes, a Naboo pilot who had sneaked into the camps in a stolen Federation gunboat.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
These minelayers have only appeared once, in the 2000 video game Star Wars: Battle for Naboo developed by Factor 5. The player encounters them in the eighth level of the game, "Andrevea River."
