University of Southern California
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.
The University of Southern California (commonly referred to as USC, SC or Southern California), located in the University Park neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, USA, was founded in 1880, making it California's oldest private research university.
Among other things, USC is known for its film program, which produced such graduates as George Lucas, Bryan Singer, Gary Kurtz, Ron Howard and Robert Zemeckis. As a testament to this, at least one USC graduate has been nominated for an Academy Award every year since 1973.
Based on its proximity and ties to Lucas, Lucasfilm has recruited heavily from USC. In 2006, Lucas donated $75 to USC for the construction of a 137,000 square foot facility for his alma mater's film school and $100 million to the school's endowment.
