[edit] Biography
Du's Padawan was Kai Justiss and the pair of them were known to have catalogued Force-sensitive creatures for the Jedi Archives, including the marsh haunt of Abraxin and the nightcrawler of Tatooine.
She was part of the Jedi strike team sent to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala from the Separatist leaders just prior to the break of the Clone Wars, and was killed by General Grievous in the catacombs during the Battle of Geonosis. At the time no one knew about Grievous's creation, so Ur-Sema took the secret of his existence to her grave. It is believed that Du's green lightsaber was the second in the General's collection.
[edit] Behind the scenes
This Jedi was the creation of artist Joe Corroney, who modeled her after fellow artist Jan Duursema, whom the character also takes her name from. The name originally appeared only on Corroney's website, and was thus not part of the canon. This changed after the mention in Unknown Soldier: The Story of General Grievous, which made the name canonical.
