[edit] Elom

"I thought you people were demons of chaos. I realize now that order sent you to protect us."
Ryannar N'on Dikasterar speaking to Kav Dryfus in an Imperial prison, as recorded in Kav Dryfus' journal[src]

Eloms were short, stocky, bipedal sentients, with a thick pelt of oily, dark fur, native to the frigid and mineral-rich desert planet of Elom, located in the Borderland Regions. The primitive species had extremely tough skin, several layers of fat, and their hands and feet were coated by thick calluses.

As a result of living in dark caves, where the only light was created by phosphorescent crystals, Eloms had exceptional eyesight, though they could not tolerate bright light. Rarely leaving their underground habitats, Eloms were pacifistic and peaceful herbivores, despite their savage and fearsome appearance.

Although they were highly ambitious and intelligent, Eloms were often manipulated into becoming involved with illegal activities, due to their underestimation of the capacity for wrong doing exhibited by other species. With an average lifespan similar to Humans, Eloms remained undiscovered for thousands of years by Galactic Republic scouts, although the species they shared the planet with, the tall humanoid Elomin, had made contact with the scouts long before they had even discovered the Eloms. [edit] Memit Nadill

"But if the Force is in all things, it is never too late."
―Memit Nadill[src]

Memit Nadill was a Jedi Knight who served as Empress Teta's most trusted advisor during a series of conflicts (known as the Unification Wars) that brought together the seven planets of the Koros system. In 5,000 BBY, after believing the visions of fellow Jedi Odan-Urr to be precognitive, Memit Nadill traveled to Coruscant to warn the Jedi Order about an impending Sith invasion. However, Nadill was too late, and the Sith invasion force rained down upon the capital just as Nadill arrived, marking the start of the Great Hyperspace War. Nadill helped to repel the Sith Empire during the invasion of Coruscant, leading a small team of Jedi including Tuknatan, Anavus Svag and Sonam-Ha'ar during the battle.

Nadill was a regal, green-skinned humanoid, with many small tails sprouting from the back of his head. He was known to be a peaceful Jedi, and after the Unification Wars he hoped never to need his lightsaber again. However, he was skillful with his weapon when the situation required it of him; wielding a blue lightsaber, Nadill often led Teta's forces in battle. Read more...

[edit] Picaroon C. Boodle

"It is a mystery why one would call Gorc and Pic twins. Even though one is a miniature version of the other, they look nothing alike. They also don't battle alike. Pic is the energy and Gorc, the counter. They are the clashing balance of opposites: one, the voice; the other, the body. This combination is deadly."
Qu Rahn as a Force ghost, to Kyle Katarn[src]

Picaroon C. Boodle, later known as Pic, was a mutated Kowakian monkey-lizard who, alongside his "brother" Gorc, served as one of Jerec's Seven Dark Jedi. After being captured by the Empire for use as research subjects, Pic and Gorc were taken by Lord Cronal, who trained and mutated them, before pressing them into the service of Jerec. The two Dark Jedi took on each other's genes and characteristics, and through a symbiotic link in the Force, they were able to sense each other's presence, emotions, and thoughts. Pic and his companion made a deadly pair: Pic's speed and intelligence when combined with Gorc's brute strength left many of their opponents dead during their time under Jerec.

During the search for the lost Valley of the Jedi in 5 ABY, Pic and Gorc were sent to destroy the droid 8t88 and kill Kyle Katarn aboard the ship Sulon Star. The two easily deactivated the droid, but Katarn managed to kill Gorc, who had underestimated the Rebel agent. The death of his companion sent Pic into a frenzied rage, and the monkey-lizard viciously attacked Katarn, though he was eventually killed when the Rebel instinctively hit him with the heavy, dismembered head of 8t88. [edit] Ooroo

Odan-Urr: "How can we fight such an enemy?"
Ooroo: "How do we fight against any enemy? With the Force, to the best of our abilities."
―Ooroo and his young apprentice during the Battle of Kirrek[src]

Ooroo was a Celegian Jedi Master who acted as an instructor to Jedi students on the planet Ossus for a long time before the Great Hyperspace War in 5,000 BBY. Ooroo's species breathed a gas, deadly to most life-forms, known as cyanogen, whereas oxygen was deadly to them. This caused the Jedi Master to depend on a crystalline life support chamber for survival on oxygen-rich worlds. Ooroo trained many students during his time as a Jedi instructor, but the Draethos Jedi Knight Odan-Urr was by far the most well known. 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, Ooroo sent Odan-Urr to help restore peace to the Koros system, which was ravaged by a series of Unification Wars aimed at uniting the seven planets of the system.

During their separation, Ooroo and his apprentice were plagued by visions of long-forgotten Dark Jedi, as well as the pain and suffering the darksiders would bring the Republic. The Celegian Jedi traveled to Koros to meet with his student. Ooroo was on the planet when the Sith Empire launched their attack on the Republic. He and Odan-Urr led the forces of Teta, the Empress of the system, on Kirrek. Teta's men were overrun with Massassi warriors, so the ancient Master sacrificed himself to defeat the Sith warriors, shattering his cyanogen tank and sending the fumes into the Massassi's lungs, killing many of them instantly. He was later known as the Martyr of Kirrek for this selfless act. Read more...

[edit] Simus

"The noblest among us, he always offered his wisdom."
Naga Sadow[src]

Simus was a Sith Lord who lived during the time of the first Sith Empire, and, around 5,100 BBY, dueled fellow Sith Lord Marka Ragnos for the title of Dark Lord of the Sith and control of the Sith Empire. Ragnos defeated Simus, who was beheaded in the battle with the other aspiring Dark Lord; however, the Sith Lord did not give up his life. Rather than letting himself die, he used his forgotten Sith powers to preserve his life. Very little of him was left, though—he lived as a severed head in a crystalline container for the rest of his days. Eventually the bodyless Simus was made a part of the Sith Council, becoming a respected member whose opinion was highly valued by the other councilors.

He lived for over a hundred years, and watched as Marka Ragnos grew in power, pitting his adversaries against each other and ensuring that there were no threats to Ragnos's throne. Simus was one of few to survive, and in the process trained Naga Sadow in the ways of the Sith. Sadow eventually became extremely powerful, and after the death of Marka Ragnos, he was one of two challengers for the throne. The other, Ludo Kressh, wished to keep the Empire hidden from the Galactic Republic, while Sadow wished to expand the Empire's borders. Though the Council was split on the matter, Simus supported his old friend Sadow, and backed his candidacy for the role of Dark Lord of the Sith. Simus was eventually killed by his apprentice, with a Republic-issue blaster, in an attempt to provide the Sith council with a reason to go to war by framing the Republic for his assassination. [edit] Odan-Urr

"To be brave in battle proves nothing. Bravery itself proves nothing. A Jedi should be prepared to put aside fear, regret and uncertainty and either fight, run, surrender or die."
―Odan-Urr[src]

Odan-Urr was a long-lived Draethos male, who served as a Jedi Master and Jedi Librarian during the height of the Galactic Republic. He preferred reading and studying to combat, though he was a master of the little known Jedi art of battle meditation. He was trained by the Celegian Jedi Master Ooroo.

Odan-Urr was a Jedi Padawan in 5,000 BBY, and during his time as the Watchman of Koros, he had a series of visions depicting the impended Sith invasion. He and his Jedi companion, Memit Nadill, attempted to warn the Senate of the Sith attack, but the Senate refused to listen. However, Odan-Urr had the backing of the armies of Empress Teta, and participated in the Battle of Kirrek, where Naga Sadow's Sith Empire attempted to crush the Republic. The Republic emerged victorious, though only at the expense of the life of Master Ooroo. In the aftermath of the war, Odan-Urr found an ancient Sith holocron—the only one known to have existed at the time—which he kept safely at all times. Shortly thereafter, he founded the Great Jedi Library on Ossus, where he became the Keeper of the Chamber of Antiquities for several centuries. He also studied the Jedi Code during his time as a Jedi Master, creating a revised version which lasted for thousands of years after his death, until the Great Jedi Purge in 19 BBY. He was widely regarded as one of the most influential members of the Jedi Order for this work.

Odan-Urr presided over the Conclave on Deneba in 3,996 BBY, where the dark siders known as the Krath attempted to slaughter the Jedi. Odan-Urr was one of the survivors, however, the attack was one of several in the leadup to the Great Sith War—a galaxy-wide conflict which took the lives of hundreds of Jedi. During the war, Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun learned of Odan-Urr's Sith holocron, and went to the old Master's Great Library to claim it. Odan-Urr attempted to stop him, but the young dark sider lashed out at the Draethos with the Force, killing him. The truth about his death was only known by Kun, who lied to the other Jedi, telling them Odan-Urr had made him a Jedi Master before passing away. Odan-Urr was over one thousand years old at the time of his death. Read more...

[edit] Teek

"You nasty little bug-lover!"
―Noa Briqualon curses Teek[src]

Teek was a male member of the Teek species, and a native of the forest moon of Endor. He was a playful, mischievous being, with scruffy, white fur and two large upper incisors. As his species had an accelerated metabolism, he could move extraordinarily fast, and was often seen as a blur. Teek was the only companion of a stranded Human scout by the name of Noa Briqualon, whom he shared a cabin with on Endor. Noa spent most of his time attempting to repair his damaged ship, and was generally hostile toward any outsiders who stumbled upon his home. The two lived together in isolation for many years, with little or no interaction with other sentient beings.

However, in 3 ABY, a Human girl named Cindel Towani and her Ewok companion Wicket Wystri Warrick stumbled upon the house of Teek and Noa, who eventually formed a close bond with the two children. Several days after their first encounter, Cindel was kidnapped by Sanyassan warlord Terak, and Teek and his friend aided Wicket in her rescue. Teek proved vital to the recovery, using his superior speed to great effect, and after they rescued Cindel, he helped fight Terak's warriors in the woods. Teek eventually saved his companion's life when he attacked Terak, who was ready to strike the helpless Noa with his sword. Wicket then finished off the Sanyassan warlord. Teek was ultimately left behind when Noa and Cindel departed on the ship, which the old Human had finally managed to repair, though he found a home with the Ewoks of Bright Tree Village, many of whom had aided him in the skirmish with the Sanyassans. [edit] Shu Mai

"She has all our best interests at heart."
"Does she really? I've heard she doesn't have a heart.
"
―Mousul and Nemrileo discussing Shu Mai[src]

Shu Mai was a female Gossam native to the planet Castell, who served as the Presidente of the Commerce Guild prior to and during the Clone Wars. She was one of millions of Gossam devastated during the economic depression on her homeworld dozens of years before the rise of the Empire, and after they were saved from their hardship by the Commerce Guild, Mai gained a position as Chief of Property Resources for the Guild, and was eventually promoted several more times. Using shrewd and sometimes unscrupulous tactics, Mai eventually brought the Gossam out of their financial troubles, before repurchasing Castell—only so she could raise rent even more and demand tribute from her people. Impressed with her entrepreneurial nature and shrewd business awareness, the Commerce Guild then elected her as their Presidente.

Mai then secretly aligned the Guild with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a group of powerful individuals who had broken away from the Galactic Republic. Mai pledged the Guild's forces to the CIS during the Clone Wars that followed, and served on the Separatist Council alongside such others as Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor and San Hill. At the close of the war in 19 BBY, Mai was among the Council members executed by Darth Vader on the planet Mustafar.

Shu Mai was known to use various unscrupulous methods to get her way, though she was always careful not to tie herself to such acts, and to remain within the letter of the law at all times. She was extremely greedy, and cared for little other than herself—she would happily have killed off most of the population of Felucia, one of the Gossam's colony planets, rather than let it fall to the Republic. Her ultimate desire lay in power, and, most of all, money. Read more...

[edit] Teeks

"Teeks are rodentlike, simian creatures that live in the forest, scavenging and stealing things from animal nests and from Ewok dwellings. The Ewoks don't like Teeks at all, considering it a sure sign of trouble even to be seen with one of the creatures."
Pfilbee Jhorn in a report on Teeks to Emperor Palpatine[src]

Teeks were an intelligent species of rodent who had a colony on the forest moon of Endor. They had a scruffy appearance, with thick white fur covering their entire body; only their face and hands were devoid of fur. Due to their fast metabolism, Teeks could run extremely quickly, and were often seen as a blur. Teeks did not originally hail from Endor, but around 800 BBY, a Starhunter menagerie ark carrying Teeks, Gupins and choreamnos crashed on Endor, forcing the Teeks and other species to form colonies on the forest moon. The Teeks were extremely unpopular with the other sentients of Endor—especially the Ewoks, who viewed them as pests. Expert thieves and scavengers, Teeks were known to horde the various trinkets which they had taken from animal nests or Ewok dwellings. Teeks, however, did not think of themselves as dishonest; they always left something behind that they felt was of similar value to whatever they had taken. However, Teeks found value in things where most others would not, meaning that their victims were rarely satisfied with the trade-off.

One of few Teeks to ever venture into the wider galaxy was Yeep, who came first in a prestigious Republic running race in 22 BBY. At the time no-one knew of Yeep's species, though he was judged sentient, and was thus allowed to keep his medal. Teeks were only finally recognized as a species by the galaxy at large during the reign of Emperor Palpatine, who sent a scout team to Endor to search for the numerous species missed by an earlier survey. Another well known Teek was one named simply "Teek," who lived with shipwrecked spacer Noa Briqualon during the Galactic Civil War. He was ultimately left behind when Noa departed the moon on his repaired starship. Read more...

[edit] Kowakian monkey-lizard

"Those things never shut up."
Risso Nu[src]

Kowakian monkey-lizards were a tiny bipedal reptilian species native to a jungle-like Outer Rim planet called Kowak. Although they had no established culture, Kowakian monkey-lizards were quite intelligent, and despite their silly, cruel nature, they were considered sentient by many sentientologists in the galaxy, although there was much debate over that fact.

Standing roughly seventy centimeters tall, Kowakian monkey-lizards had small, spindly bodies, two large, floppy ears and a beak-like nose, with tufts of dark hair growing around their neck and on the tops of their heads. Some subspecies had long, prehensile tails.

Kowakian monkey-lizards were rarely found off their homeworld, although it was not uncommon to find a monkey-lizard in the service of a crime lord. One such individual was Salacious B. Crumb, a court jester on Tatooine for Hutt gangster Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Crumb perished along with his master when Jabba's sail barge was destroyed in 4 ABY. At least one Force-sensitive monkey-lizard was known to exist—a mutated Dark Jedi named Picaroon C. Boodle, who served under Jerec. Pic was ultimately killed by Rebel agent Kyle Katarn above the Sulon Star. Read more...

[edit] Thon

"It is not simply enough to know the light…a Jedi must feel the tension between the two sides of the Force…in himself and in the universe."
―Thon[src]

Thon was a secretive and often reclusive male Tchuukthai Jedi Master who lived in the period surrounding the events of the Great Sith War. He kept the details concerning his race, homeworld, and origins a closely guarded secret, and possessed extensive knowledge of the Force even in as-yet-unknown techniques. Soon after first visiting the Jedi library world of Ossus, Thon became a Jedi Master, and went in search of a planet where he could live and study in solitude and peace. The Force guided him to Ambria, a planet in the Stenness Node that was plagued by the dark side. After containing the Sith influence to a single spot, Thon settled down and began to take Jedi apprentices, among them Oss Wilum and the future head of the Jedi Order, Nomi Sunrider.

Splitting his time between life on Ambria and communion with the other Jedi Masters on Ossus, Thon often took an advisory role, yet found himself immersed in such events as the Battle of Deneba during the Krath Holy Crusade. Due to his high-profile pupils and his high esteem within the Order, Thon became directly involved in the Great Sith War. Escaping a plot by Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun to have the Jedi Masters murdered by their former wards, Thon left Ambria and took a more active role in the conflict. He assisted in the evacuation of Ossus before the planet was devastated by a supernova unleashed by the Sith, and was present at Yavin 4 when Exar Kun made his final stand and was defeated, ending the war. Thon was one of the few Jedi Masters to survive the conflict. A decade after the events of the war, Thon attended the Conclave on Exis Station, where his former apprentice, Nomi Sunrider, discussed the future of the Jedi Order. Read more...

[edit] Warb Null

"And this new being that the merging of man and metal will create most definitely deserves a new name. I think "Warb Null" will do nicely."
―Unidentified Sith spirit to Shas Dovos[src]

Warb Null was a dark side apprentice and King Ommin's armored commander of the Naddist forces during the First Battle of Onderon in the Freedon Nadd Uprising. Originally named Shas Dovos, Null was formerly an aspiring young student of metalwork, though when a sinister Sith spirit tricked him into constructing a tainted suit of armor, he became a mindless servant of the dark side. The spirit resided in the very pages of an ancient Sith book discovered by Dovos in the wilds of his native planet Onderon, and eventually it fused Dovos to the dark armor and renamed him Warb Null.

Null became the leader of the Naddists who raided the city of Iziz during the Freedon Nadd Uprising. They defeated the Onderonian forces, as well as a team of Jedi sent by the Galactic Republic, and successfully recaptured the sarcophagi of Ommin's late wife Amanoa, and the former Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd. Later, Warb Null helped free Ommin from his life-support facility; however, that time the young Jedi Knights he had previously defeated were too strong, as Ulic Qel-Droma engaged the Sith warrior in a duel and decapitated him. Null's death was, in the end, insignificant to Ommin, who felt the armor-clad soldier had fulfilled his purpose. Read more...

[edit] Chrag'mak'al

"You have a .00325 chance of successfully evading me. Surrender or be spaced."
―Chrag'mak'al[src]

Chrag'mak'al was a Givin pirate who operated some time during the reign of the Galactic Empire. A former priest, Chrag'mak'al left his homeworld after becoming disillusioned with his predictable life, and began working as an astrogator on a series of heavy freighters. However, due to his xenophobia, he was unable to work with other species, and could not keep a position for any length of time. Eventually, he joined the Duros crew of the Tesserahedron, using his mathematical abilities to determine when and where a targeted ship would come out of hyperspace. After two standard years of lucrative operations, the Duros crew decided to retire, though Chrag'mak'al continued his illegal ventures.

He purchased the Tesserahedron from his former crewmates, and employed a team of boarders comprised entirely of his fellow Givin. They used their species' ability to survive in space to great effect, becoming one of the most infamous group of pirates of the era. However, the Imperials soon sent out a arrest warrant for the Givin marauders, charging Chrag'mak'al with mass murder and piracy. He managed to avoid being arresting at the first attempt made by the Empire, though whether he was eventually imprisoned is not known. Read more...

[edit] Moxin Tark

"He should be approached with extreme caution."
―Airen Cracken on Moxin Tark[src]

The son of two wealthy supporters of the Galactic Empire, Moxin Tark could have lived a life of luxury and grandeur in the Tark family estate on his homeworld of Bandonia. His father wished for him to follow in his footsteps and join the Imperial Military, though Tark had other ideas. He left home aged eighteen, and pursued a career as a bounty hunter. Over time, his reputation grew, and he became one of the most successful bounty hunters of his era. He wore a replica suit of Sun Guard armor, and had no qualms about committing unsavory acts, and even served the Rebel Alliance for a time, though his primary employers were the Empire.

However, with the fall of the Empire in 4 ABY, Tark found himself on the run from the New Republic. After taking up a bounty on a New Republic official, Moxin killed Captain Narn Detan in the Geal system, further infuriating the New Republic authorities. Yet Tark managed to evade capture, and by 8 ABY, he was still operating as a bounty hunter. Read more...

[edit] "Eyes" (Rebel operative)

"While Eyes' actions are clear, his past and motivations remain a mystery. He is not to be trusted."
―Airen Cracken on Eyes[src]

"Eyes" was a Force sensitive information broker who operated during the reign of the Galactic Empire. A member of an unknown alien species, Eyes wound up on the planet Camden in the Outer Rim Territories, where he slowly built up a plethora of contacts. Eventually, he became an informant, and ran a lucrative business from the Snakes' Den spaceport of Camden. For reasons he never disclosed, Eyes harbored an intense personal hatred of Emperor Palpatine, though he was indifferent towards the Empire in general. Eventually, the Rebel Alliance noticed his work, and, impressed, hired him as an informant. However, their trust in Eyes was never great, and they never permitted him to see any important information.

Nothing was known about Eyes's origins. It was rumored he was a member of an alien species wiped out by Palpatine, though this was merely one of many theories. Eyes was widely thought to be male, though in truth even his gender was unknown. He was an amoral being, and during his time in the galaxy, he killed on more than one occasion. He also used his Force-sensitivity to further his own gains, and even used divination to track an Imperial, whom he later murdered. Read more...

[edit] Jannik

«I'm the clan leader! I do not 'fall back'!»
―Jannik during one of the Rodian honor wars[src]

A pale-skinned Rodian from Rodia, Jannik the White was the leader of the Reeven Clan around the time of the Separatist crisis, and fought in a Rodian honor war against the Cairn Clan in 26 BBY. Jannik enlisted the help of a Feeorin pirate named Nym for the wars, knowing his clan was greatly outnumbered by Evo the Blue's warriors. Nym helped them defeat Evo, and also stole treasures from the Rodian Grand Protector, the profits of which he split with Jannik. Knowing he would be wanted on his homeworld, Jannik went with Nym to track down a pirate named Sol Sixxa on Maramere, bringing along the majority of his clan.

Jannik and his men proved instrumental in the mission to Maramere. They saved Nym from a massive Relix fish which was in pursuit of the Feeorin pirate after he went searching a sunken ship, and Jannik later clashed with Sixxa's men in the Haunted Straits, alongside Nym and his crew. Ultimately, Sixxa attempted to flee the battle. Jannik attempted to stop him, but was stabbed in the upper chest. Although his injury was extensive, the albino Rodian survived, though only barely. [edit] Finhead Stonebone

"I'm just an honest pirate tryin' to make a livin'!"
―Finhead Stonebone[src]

Finhead Stonebone was a pirate who operated out of the Stenness system during the height of the Galactic Republic around 4,000 BBY. "Stonebone" was nothing more than one of several aliases used by the pirate, who preferred his true name, origins, and species to remain a mystery. He arrived in known space around 4,012 BBY without a word of Basic at his disposal, though he soon became a pirate in the Vorc Sector. After several years working as a criminal, Finhead had enough money to run his own ship; he stole an asteroid mining vehicle, which he named the Marauder Starjacker.

However, a feud with his former employer meant that Finhead had to leave the sector, taking up residence in the Stenness system, located in the Mid Rim. There he made a deal with Bogga the Hutt, though the Hutt crimelord soon double-crossed Stonebone and put an order out for the pirate's capture. Finhead managed to elude the Hutt's enforcers for a time, though he and his crew were eventually brought before Bogga in his fortress on Vo Dasha. Rather than having the rogue pirate executed, Bogga tasked Stonebone and his band of men with traveling to the planet Ambria, killing Tchuukthai Jedi Master Thon, and stealing his valuable Adegan crystals. The insectoid marauder and his crew were ultimately unsuccessful; they were chased off the planet by Thon and his young apprentice, Nomi Sunrider. Finhead returned to Bogga empty-handed, ready to face the Hutt's wrath. Read more...

[edit] Pfilbee Jhorn

"The open skies of Endor, showing only primitive trees and dirty 'natural' beauty, are ripe for exploitation by anyone who can stomach this primeval world."
―Pfilbee Jhorn on the forest moon of Endor[src]

Pfilbee Jhorn was a sergeant in the Imperial Navy who served as the records officer for Emperor Palpatine's second expedition to the forest moon of Endor. Unhappy with the superficial reports of the initial survey, the Emperor sent Jhorn and nine others to the moon in an attempt to learn more about it before the construction of the shield generator for the second Death Star. Jhorn had filed many memos stating he was unfit for the job, but they never reached their intended recipients, and he was sent on the trek regardless. This, coupled with his Humanocentric nature, made for a very bitter report.

The expedition, despite the lack of suitable equipment, proved a great success, with several new intelligent species being discovered, including the Teeks, Goraxes, Yuzzum and Sanyassans. This was, however, at the cost of six of the members' deaths. After the expedition, Jhorn was assigned to several backwater worlds, eventually taking up the role of custodian in Fort Bestine on Tatooine. There, he was given the duty of exterminating the local vermin, a job which he detested. In 1 ABY, he met with a spacer, and had him perform several exterminating jobs. Read more...

[edit] Ood Bnar

"Curse you, Jedi! I don't care if you're a million years old!"
Sedriss QL[src]

Ood Bnar was a Neti Jedi Master who lived for over five thousand years, from before the Great Hyperspace War in 5,000 BBY until 10 ABY. Bnar was born on the planet Ryyk, but found himself stranded on Myrkr during his youth. He eventually joined the Jedi Order, and over time became one of the most respected and revered Masters of the era. Bnar specialized in the history of the Sith, and preferred to avoid combat where possible, though he often advised more martial Jedi on how best to fight the dark side. Eventually, he had such knowledge of Jedi and Sith lore that he recorded a holocron, which was passed down through the generations for centuries.

Ood eventually became the understudy of Head Librarian Odan-Urr at the Great Jedi Library on Ossus, and after his friend's death at the hands of Exar Kun during the Great Sith War in 4,000 BBY, Ood took over his role as Head Librarian. However, his reign would not last long. He was among the Jedi who discovered that they would have little time to evacuate before Ossus was destroyed by a Sith-created supernova in the nearby Cron Cluster. While the other Jedi hurried to save as much as they could, Ood went to his bundle of ancient lightsabers, hoping they would survive the shockwave heading for the planet. However, he was interrupted by Exar Kun, who had come to Ossus to scavenge any artifacts left behind. Knowing he could not defeat the Dark Lord of the Sith, Ood transformed into a giant and immovable tree, barring Kun from the trove of sabers.

Ood survived the devastation of Ossus, and entered a millennia-long slumber. He was awakened in 10 ABY to find Luke Skywalker and Kam Solusar facing off against a Dark Side Elite named Sedriss QL, who had taken a native girl hostage. Ood freed the girl and gripped Sedriss tightly with his roots. The darksider attempted to use the dark energies contained in Ossus's skies against Bnar, but the Neti fought back, counteracting Sedriss's attack by using the powers rooted deep in the Ossus ground. He eventually sacrificed himself to stop Sedriss and save the two Jedi and the native. Read more...

[edit] Qrrrl Toq

"If they want a fight, they've got one!"
―Qrrrl Toq[src]

Qrrrl Toq, known as Crown Prince Qrrrl Toq in his youth, was a male Nazzar who served as a Jedi Knight in the days of the Old Republic. Upon the discovery of his family's roots, and their colored past, Qrrrl traveled from his homeworld of Nazzri in search of wisdom and knowledge. He eventually came across a group of Jedi who advised him that he was strong in the Force. He traveled with them back to the library world of Ossus, where he became the apprentice of the Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas.

Following the rapid progression of his training under Master Baas, Qrrrl Toq traveled with several other Jedi Knights, led by Nomi Sunrider, to the planet of Onderon to act as reinforcements for Ulic Qel-Droma in helping end the Naddist Revolt. The Freedon Nadd Uprising helped identify Qrrrl Toq as ambitious and strong Jedi. Following these events, he would attend the great convocation on Mount Meru called in response to the rising threat of the Krath forces. He would later fight against the combined armies of Sith Lords Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma, and would fight his final battle at Kemplex IX. Qrrrl Toq, along with fellow Jedi Knights Shoaneb Culu and Dace Diath, was killed during the Battle of Kemplex IX when the Krath commander, Aleema Keto, used Sith powers to destroy a star in the Cron Drift. The resulting supernova instantly vaporized Qrrrl and his Jedi companions. Read more...

[edit] Bertroff Hissa

"…to my fellow grand moffs, and to the grand admirals, other officers, stormtroopers, bounty hunters, slavelords, and slaves, I bid you all Dark Greetings!"
―Grand Moff Bertroff Hissa[src]

Bertroff Hissa was a near-Human Imperial Grand Moff who was the leading figure in an attempt to overthrow Ysanne Isard as the head of the Galactic Empire in 5 ABY. Of both Human and non-Human blood, Hissa operated out of the Kessel system during the Galactic Civil War, becoming allies with Trioculus, a three-eyed slavelord. After Emperor Palpatine's death at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Hissa founded the Central Committee of Grand Moffs, who installed Trioculus as their figurehead, claiming he was the son of Emperor Palpatine.

The only person barring Trioculus's ascension to Emperor was Kadann, the Supreme Prophet of the Dark Side; gaining his dark blessing was integral to Hissa's scheme. Although Kadann initially gave Trioculus his dark blessing, he soon rescinded it, claiming the title of Emperor for himself. Trioculus was initially thought to have been killed by the Prophets, though he survived, and along with Hissa and the other Moffs began plotting as to how he would regain his throne. Trioculus, however, was killed by members of the Rebel Alliance, leaving Hissa and the Moffs to face the wrath of Kadann alone. The Supreme Prophet sentenced him to a slow and painful death, though before his execution could take place, Hissa was taken to the fourth moon of the planet Yavin, where Kadann was searching for the Lost City of the Jedi. Hissa was killed when Kadann sent him on a reconnaissance mission into a possible location of the city, which was in fact a decoy, filled with molten lava. Read more...

[edit] Chertyl Ruluwoor (Human)

"Greetings, friend. I am known as Chertyl Ruluwoor and I'm currently investigating a series of terrorist attacks aimed at Selonian dens."
―Chertyl Ruluwoor[src]

Chertyl Ruluwoor was a Human female who resided on the planet Corellia at the height of the Galactic Civil War. Ruluwoor had been assigned to build a case against a group of terrorists who were continually attacking Selonian dens on Corellia. However, she was making little progress, and by the midpoint of 1 ABY, she had yet to fully identify those responsible for the attacks.

She soon had a stroke of luck; a young amateur holocam operator named Kafleer Tredahl had caught footage of the terrorists in the act, and promised to give it to Ruluwoor if she would collect it. There were complications, however, as Tredahl believed he was being watched by the anti-Selonians. Ruluwoor had a passing spacer collect the recording, though after it was returned to her, the terrorists retaliated, taking Tredahl's mother hostage. Ruluwoor once again hired the services of the spacer, who rescued Zayna Tredahl and dispatched the kidnappers. Read more...

[edit] B'omarr Order

"You have progressed rapidly on your spiritual path, Brother Fortuna. Your quest is at an end. Prepare yourself for enlightenment."
―B'omarr Monk to Bib Fortuna[src]

The B'omarr Order, which consisted of the B'omarr Monks, was a mysterious religious order that moved to the planet Tatooine around 700 BBY. The B'omarr believed that cutting themselves off from all physical sensation would further their studies, and allow them to ponder the galaxy and achieve enlightenment. When a monk became enlightened, his brain was removed through a special procedure, and was placed in a nutrient-filled jar. The brains were held in very high regard by the lower, embodied monks, who saw to their every need, though the brains rarely did anything other than think and wonder. When they did need to travel around their monastery on Tatooine, the brains were transferred into specially modified BT-16 perimeter droids.

The order was established sometime prior to 700 BBY, though they transported their followers to Tatooine soon thereafter. They constructed a giant monastery, where they lived for centuries, though they were rarely the only inhabitants; over the years, many bandits and criminals occupied the palace, including Alkhara and Jabba Desilijic Tiure. After Jabba's death in 4 ABY, the monks took their palace back by force, recruiting new members without their consent. They then locked up Jabba's Palace, and continued to practice their beliefs for many years. Read more...

[edit] Grant

"Grand Admiral Grant, the so-called last Grand Admiral, defected to the New Republic on the condition that he be granted immediate immunity from prosecution for war crimes and allowed to retire on Rathalay."
―New Republic historical document[src]

Grant was one of the twelve original Imperial Grand Admirals appointed by Emperor Palpatine two years before the Battle of Yavin. A former Tapani noble, Grant saw himself as superior to those who were not members of the nobility, and held a particular dislike for droids and other species. His Humanocentric beliefs stood firm after he joined the ranks of the Galactic Empire, and he proved himself to be an expert military strategist. Due to his military talents, he was appointed as one of the twelve Grand Admirals created by Palpatine in 2 BBY, though he was one of the least popular Grand Admirals, and did not attempt to curry favor with the Imperial moffs.

After leading several successful campaigns during the Galactic Civil War, Grant was left virtually alone after the Emperor's death over Endor, as he had not built up a sturdy following as the other Grand Admirals had. Grant bided his time, laying low in the Pentastar Alignment while his fellow Grand Admirals were hunted down by the New Republic. Eventually, with the other Grand Admirals all dead, Grant defected to the New Republic, providing key Imperial secrets in exchange for immunity from charges of war-crimes. He was relocated to the luxury of the planet Rathalay and, although he was tempted to come out of retirement and fight the alien Grand Admiral Thrawn, he lived the rest of his days on Rathalay under close New Republic supervision. [edit] Salporin

"Chewbacca and Salporin have been friends since childhood, and have not seen each other in many years. Their greeting must not be interrupted."
―Ralrracheen[src]

Salporin was a Wookiee warrior, the mate of Gorrlyn and close friend of Chewbacca. Born on the planet Kashyyyk, he and Chewbacca undertook many childhood adventures together, becoming close friends. Soon after Chewbacca departed his homeworld, Salporin's skills with the ryyk blade took him to the Wookiee city of Kachirho, where he served as a hunter and a craftsman. He met his future wife Gorrlyn in Kachirho; they later married and were planning to begin a family together when the Clone Wars came to Kashyyyk. Their plans were shattered, though they volunteered to protect their homeworld from the Confederacy, helping to defeat the Separatist droid army on the planet's expansive beaches. In the aftermath of the victory, however, the Jedi were all but wiped out, and the Galactic Empire was formed. One of the Empire's first acts was to enslave the Wookiee species; Salporin was among them, and was an Imperial captive for many years.

Eventually, Salporin was rescued by members of the Rebel Alliance, and helped liberate Kashyyyk from Imperial rule. When Kashyyyk was free, he relocated to the village of Rwookrrorro and returned to life as a citizen. Several years later, he agreed to house and help protect a friend of Chewbacca's, Princess Leia Organa Solo, from Imperial assassination attempts during her stay on Kashyyyk. He was ultimately killed by Noghri assassins and a Wookiee memorial was held in his honor. Read more...

[edit] Ishin Il-Raz

"The fanatical Grand Admiral Il-Raz committed suicide by plunging his flagship into the heart of the Denarii Nova."
―New Republic historical document[src]

A fanatical supporter of the New Order and its core precepts, Ishin-Il-Raz was one of the original twelve Grand Admirals appointed by Emperor Palpatine two years before the Battle of Yavin. Early in his life, Il-Raz helped found the Commission for the Protection of the Republic, and when it was re-formed in 19 BBY, he became the leader of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order, and was a key figure in the development of its Humanocentric ideas and concepts.

His efforts eventually came to the attention of Palpatine, who gave him the rank of Grand Admiral, despite Il-Raz's complete lack of military experience. This appointment was met with much criticism, and Il-Raz knew that his appointment was purely a political one. Il-Raz began to idolize Palpatine, and initiated a series of bloody massacres in an attempt to win favor with the Emperor. These atrocities, however, did nothing more than reduce public opinion of him, and when Palpatine was killed at Endor in 4 ABY, Il-Raz was largely forgotten by his fellow Grand Admirals, who turned warlord and fought with each other. Distraught at Palpatine's death, Il-Raz began to contemplate suicide, and eight months after Endor, he plunged his Star Destroyer into the Denarii Nova, killing himself and thousands of others. [edit] Azrakel

"Azrakel was nothing more than raw hate and anger, the dark side personified."
―Unknown[src]

Azrakel, also known as The Dark Warrior, was a Dark Jedi who served Kadann in the Secret Order of the Empire.

Discovered to be Force-sensitive at a young age by Emperor Palpatine, Azrakel was taken to one of the Sith Lord's secret facilities, where Palpatine performed many dark side experiments, hoping to mold his own loyal warrior. However, Azrakel proved far more resilient to the treatment than the Emperor had anticipated, and, after several years, the experiment was abandoned by Palpatine, who forgot all about Azrakel. But while the Emperor saw his Dark Jedi as a lost cause, Kadann, the Supreme Prophet of the Dark Side, saw the potential to turn Azrakel into his own apprentice.

The young being's mind was left blank as result of his extensive exposure to the dark side; Kadann exploited this, secretly training Azrakel in the ways of the dark side, and teaching him to hate the Emperor and his enforcer, Darth Vader. Azrakel, however, began to hate Kadann also, and eventually left his service. After Palpatine and Vader perished at Endor, Kadann went into hiding, leaving Azrakel without a figure for him to hate. He hid the presence of his Force powers from others, becoming a mercenary in the Outer Rim Territories. However, he left this role when a chance presented itself for him to take his revenge on Kadann. With the aid of Grand Admiral Afsheen Makati, Azrakel killed Kadann, though he later discovered that they had killed a weak impostor. Some time later, Azrakel gained knowledge of the real Kadann's secret hiding place, and massacred many of the Prophets of the Dark Side, among them his former master. Although he murdered dozens of the Prophets, he himself was struck down before he could completely wipe them out. Read more...

[edit] 8t88

"Ah, … if only you could. But the malfunction is hidden within your skull, a difficult place to make repairs. I don't know if you've seen any brains lately, but they're hard to sort out. A CPU makes more sense."
―8t88[src]

8t88 was a Tiss'shar administrative droid who went rogue and became an information broker around the time of the Galactic Civil War. In charge of maintaining an important holoscan database on Woostri, 88 was the recipient of an elaborate practical joke which left him with an undersized head and a bitter resentment of everything Human. He became an informant on Nar Shaddaa, hoping to someday enact his revenge on those responsible for his disfigurement and built up a sizable fortune working for any and every faction in the galaxy willing to pay his steep fees. Shortly after the Battle of Endor, 8t88 took a job helping a Dark Jedi named Jerec locate the Valley of the Jedi, which brought him into conflict with Rebel agent Kyle Katarn. After narrowly escaping from Katarn on Nar Shaddaa and Sulon, the droid managed to decipher a coded map giving the coordinates of the valley and presented it to Jerec. The Dark Jedi instructed 8t88 to collect his payment on a freighter named the Sulon Star, though in truth 88 was sent straight into an ambush and was decapitated by two of Jerec's minions. Both his head and body continued to exist, albeit independently, and he eventually found vengeance on the planet Mawan, where he slew the perpetrator of the prank that left him traumatized all those years previously. [edit] Sair Yonka

"Avarice's Captain Sair Yonka is very smart and calculating—the antithesis of us Corellians because he does care what the odds are and does everything he can to maximize his chances of survival."
—Mirax Terrik[src]

Sair Yonka was a Human male from Commenor who served with both the Galactic Empire and the New Republic as the captain of the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Avarice—later renamed the Freedom. Yonka left his lover Aellyn Jandi behind on his homeworld at a young age and entered the Imperial Naval Academy, proving to be a competent and intelligent officer. He spent several years serving on numerous vessels in the Outer Rim Territories before being awarded the captaincy of the Avarice and tasked with defending Imperial-aligned Outer Rim worlds from pirates. During his time in the Outer Rim, Yonka and Aellyn Jandi entered into an affair.

After the debacle at Endor, Yonka turned down offers to serve with Warlord Zsinj, instead staying loyal to Ysanne Isard, the legitimate ruler of what remained of the Empire. When Isard was ousted from Coruscant, Yonka and the Avarice helped her establish a power base on Thyferra, and the Commenorian remained loyal to her during the preliminary stages of the Bacta War. However, Yonka began to have doubts about Isard's leadership and when Wedge Antilles offered him a sizable sum of money to defect to the New Republic, he accepted. His ship was instrumental in Isard's defeat at the Battle of Thyferra and he later participated in the battles at Sluis Van and Bilbringi during the Thrawn campaign. He also took part in the Battle of Liinade III during the toppling of Prince-Admiral Delak Krennel immediately after Thrawn's demise at Bilbringi. Read more...

[edit] Ysanne Isard

"Madam Director Ysanne Isard, I regret not being able to bring you this message personally, but not that much. In the time I have been associated with you I have found you to be sociopathically self-centered, prone to irrational and impulsive reactions to situations, and prey to a preference for appearance over substance. I have no doubt these affectations were seen as skills by the late Emperor, and indeed may have enhanced your ability to comply with his orders, but by no means are these traits that make for great, or even adequate leadership."
―Captain Sair Yonka of the Star Destroyer Avarice announces his defection from Isard's empire[src]

Ysanne Isard was the Director of Imperial Intelligence for several years during the Galactic Civil War, and ruled the Galactic Empire herself for a time after the Emperor's death in 4 ABY. Isard followed her father, Armand Isard, into Imperial Intelligence at a young age, blossoming into a model field agent. Her ambition, marked her as a threat to her father, and he made plans to remove her. After the Alliance to Restore the Republic stole coordinates of the location of the Death Star's construction site, Ysanne was sent on a suicide mission to the planet Darkknell. She survived, though, and returned with charges of treason against her father. Armand Isard was executed immediately, and his daughter took his position as Director of Imperial Intelligence. Isard was exceptionally close to Palpatine, so much so that she was given the second Executor-class Star Dreadnought constructed, the Lusankya. Buried underneath the surface of her homeworld of Coruscant, the Lusankya became a prison and brainwashing facility, and Isard used it to torture the secrets out of many enemies of the Empire, as well as convert selected prisoners into sleeper agents.

After the Battle of Endor, Isard became an advisor to Grand Vizier Sate Pestage, all the while engineering his downfall. In the same day, Isard had Pestage and the Imperial Ruling Council assassinated, leaving her Empress in all but name. Isard commanded a sizable force at the height of her power, though the fact she held Coruscant made her a target for the New Republic. Knowing Coruscant would inevitably fall to the New Republic, she had the Krytos virus developed, so that they would inherit a sick world and hopefully fragment. After blasting off Coruscant in the Lusankya, Ysanne Isard supported a political coup of Thyferra, and became a warlord. Rogue Squadron followed her to Thyferra, though, and managed to defeat her forces and capture the planet. Isard was presumed dead.

She had, in fact, survived, and remained in hiding during the Thrawn campaign, biding her time and contemplating past mistakes. Sometime during her time in hiding, she was contacted by the reborn Palpatine, and pledged to steal back her Lusankya and present it to him. When her clone allied herself with warlord Delak Krennel and reemerged in the Ciutric Hegemony, Isard provided Rogue Squadron with the location of the Lusankya prisoners, among them Rebel Alliance General Jan Dodonna, to discreetly obtain their aid in eliminating her clone. She betrayed the New Republic, though, and attempted to steal the Lusankya from New Republic control at the Bilbringi shipyards. However, a New Republic Intelligence agent, Iella Wessiri, was waiting for her and shot her dead. Read more...

[edit] Ma'kis'shaalas

"[Killing the Sith is] difficult to do at best, I think. Many guards this new Emperor has. Can it be done? I don't know. Should it be tried? Yes!"
―Ma'kis'shaalas[src]

Ma'kis'shaalas, nicknamed Ma'kis, was a Kajain'sa'Nikto who became a famed Morgukai warrior and later a Jedi Knight during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. A fierce and brutal warrior, Ma'kis became a decorated hero among the Morgukai, though after a decade of wearing the traditional armor of the order of warriors, he walked away, realizing that his destiny was elsewhere. To his fellow Niktos' anger and dismay, he left their order; the only way to do so, in accordance of the order's laws, was to walk through the Burning Moon Range, something which none had lived to tell the tale of before. Although he was presumed dead on his homeworld of Kintan, Ma'kis had in fact survived, and joined the Jedi Order.

Ma'kis'shaalas proved himself to be a martial Jedi, often acting in ways others might have perceived as rash. He hated the bureaucracy of the Republic, and had no qualms about following what he felt was the right course of action without the permission of his superiors. During the Separatist Crisis, Ma'kis returned to Kintan in his capacity as a Jedi on a peacekeeping mission, intending to acquaint himself with an old friend named Tsyr. The sight of his brother-in-arms wearing the robes of a Jedi overwhelmed Ma'kis's friend, and the two clashed blades. They both survived, though each of them bore scars from the vicious encounter. During the Clone Wars, Ma'kis served as a Jedi General and managed to survive Order 66 at the war's close in 19 BBY. He was one of the eight Jedi who met with Jedi Master Shadday Potkin on Kessel shortly after the foundation of the Galactic Empire to plan their next course of action. He advocated attacking the Sith, but Darth Vader's arrival on Kessel hastened this plan. The Jedi fought with Vader, though Ma'kis'shaalas was quickly struck down and killed by the Sith Lord. Vader managed to kill the rest of Ma'kis's companions soon thereafter with the aid of the 501st Legion. Read more...

[edit] Ibtisam

"What made Ibtisam a Rogue was her willingness to accept danger because the payoff of freedom for others was more than worth it."
―Wedge Antilles[src]

Ibtisam was a female Mon Calamari pilot who flew for the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Driven by a refusal to stand by and watch as her people were destroyed by the Empire, she joined the Alliance Starfighter Corps around 4 ABY. Ibtisam volunteered to fly a modified B-wing starfighter at the Battle of Endor, but was shot down during the massive fleet action and spent twelve hours adrift in space.

After spending several months recovering from trauma, Ibtisam joined Rogue Squadron, though to her immense annoyance she was forced to pilot an X-wing starfighter. She initially clashed with fellow Rogue Nrin Vakil; the Mon Calamari and the Quarren species were traditionally hostile towards each other, though the two beings overcame this animosity. They flew alongside each other during missions to Eiattu 6 and Malrev IV as well as at the Battle of Brentaal IV. Ibtisam and fellow pilot Wes Janson were shot down over Brentaal IV, though they managed to evade Imperial forces and return to their unit.

In late 4 ABY, Ibtisam and Rogue Squadron were sent to the planet Ciutric IV to retrieve former Imperial Grand Vizier Sate Pestage and return him safely to the New Republic. By this point, she and Nrin Vakil had grown very close, and their friendship was bordering on romance. Their relationship reached an end on Ciutric, though, when Ibtisam was shot down by Imperial TIE fighters. She was mourned by her fellow Rogues at her funeral on Ciutric, and years later, the news of her relationship with Nrin helped to promote interrelations between the two species. Read more...

[edit] Aing-Tii

"The Aing-Tii have a different view of the Force. Not in terms of Jedi or Dark Jedi—of black and white, as it were—but in a way I like to think of as a full-color rainbow."
―Jorj Car'das[src]

The Aing-Tii were a secretive species of alien monks who resided near the Kathol Rift. Hailing from an unknown homeworld within the Rift, many of the species were Force-sensitive; these were the only Aing-Tii ever to leave their planet, traveling around the Rift in large, organic starships and using advanced weaponry to destroy those who opposed them. The Aing-Tii were very reclusive and often used violence to dissuade people from probing too far into their business, though a report based on a crashed Aing-Tii ship provided the galaxy with some details on their culture. Their belief system held that all events were not necessarily predetermined, but rather "guided." Unlike the Jedi or Sith, the Aing-Tii believed that the Force had neither a light nor a dark side, but was full of many colors, not unlike a rainbow.

The Aing-Tii monks only ever left their territories to attack slavers; they believed slavery to be a great evil, and were relentless in their persecution of those who thrived on it. The Jedi Order learned of the Aing-Tii at some point, and several years before the Battle of Yavin, the Jedi Master Yoda sent a smuggler named Jorj Car'das to the monks so that he could be healed. Car'das spent many years with the Aing-Tii, and his reports on them eventually found their way into the archives of the New Jedi Order. Jacen Solo spent several years learning from the Aing-Tii after the Yuuzhan Vong War; his and Car'das's reports were compiled by Tionne Solusar and printed sometime after 130 ABY, though Solo kept much of what he had learned from the monks secret. [edit] 4-LOM

"The case is inconclusive, but the processor doesn't appear to be at fault. The subject claims he committed crimes simply 'for love of money.'"
Industrial Automaton investigators, after interviewing 4-LOM[src]

4-LOM was an ambitious protocol droid who overwrote his own programming to embark on a life of crime. A LOM-series droid, 4-LOM's first assignment was aboard a luxury liner named the Kuari Princess, where he served as a translator between the vessel's wealthy passengers and its computer. He found this work mundane and undemanding, and after the Kuari Princess's computer altered his programming, 4-LOM began to steal from his passengers. Eventually, he left the Kuari Princess for good, becoming an expert thief, information broker, and, after Jabba Desilijic Tiure altered his programming further, a highly successful bounty hunter.

Jabba paired 4-LOM with another hunter named Zuckuss, and together they claimed several high-profile bounties for the Hutt Cartel. Although 4-LOM had initially only partnered with Zuckuss in order to learn the Gand's intuitive findsman abilities, the two bonded, and the droid stayed loyal to Zuckuss after the Gand was critically injured during the Galactic Civil War. Desperate for the funds necessary to heal Zuckuss, they incurred the wrath of the Galactic Empire when they accepted a bounty on Nardix, an Imperial governor, though Darth Vader ignored this fact when he enlisted their aid during the hunt for Han Solo. 4-LOM and Zuckuss infiltrated the Rebel Alliance, hoping to kidnap Solo at the Rebel rendezvous point, though Boba Fett managed to capture the bounty before them.

After the Rebels healed Zuckuss, the two bounty hunters joined the Alliance, and attempted to rescue Han Solo from Boba Fett before the Mandalorian could deliver him to Jabba the Hutt. They failed utterly, though, and 4-LOM was left badly damaged. Zuckuss restored him, but had to perform a complete memory wipe to do so; the idealism that led the droid to join the Rebellion was gone, and 4-LOM no longer remembered his aspirations of achieving intuition and mastering the Force. He became a cold, calculating individual, and took bounties from unsavory employers such as Quaffug—he also left the Rebel Alliance and severed ties with Zuckuss. The two did perform one last hunt together, capturing Drawmas Sma'Da for a sizable sum of money, though from that point on, 4-LOM worked alone. Read more...

[edit] Dass Jennir

"I would not throw my life away so hastily—or so vainly—but neither am I done fighting for the principles on which the Republic was based."
―Dass Jennir[src]

Dass Jennir was a Human male Jedi Master who served as a Senior Jedi General during the Clone Wars, and survived Order 66. During the Clone Wars, he was stationed on New Plympto, leading the Galactic Republic's war effort against the Separatist Nosaurians. Several months into the campaign on New Plympto, Jennir's clone troopers executed Order 66—declaring all Jedi enemies of the Republic—and attempted to kill Jennir. He evaded them, eventually finding refuge among the Nosaurians he had been fighting against. Jennir led the Nosaurians into battle against the Republic's successor, Palpatine's Galactic Empire, though they incurred heavy losses; of the New Plympto resistance soldiers, only Jennir and his friend Bomo Greenbark survived the Battle of Half-Axe Pass.

The two companions left the planet in Captain Schurk-Heren's smuggling ship, the Uhumele, traveling to Orvax IV, where Greenbark's wife and child were being kept as slaves. Greenbark's wife had been killed and his daughter had been sold on, though Jennir managed to procure the identity of Resa Greenbark's seller, Orso Meeto, and broke the Jedi Code when he killed Meeto. The Uhumele ferried Jennir and Bomo to Esseles, where Resa's buyer, Dezono Qua, lived; they attacked his fortress, cornering him, but Qua had already killed Bomo's daughter and eaten her. Jennir murdered the man, but Greenbark and the Uhumele ultimately left Esseles without him. He continued to live his life as a Jedi, however, vowing to stay true to the Jedi Code and find redemption. [edit] Saelt-Marae

"This Yarkora named Saelt-Marae is a sly one."
―Unidentified Corellian security official[src]

Saelt-Marae, known by many as Yak Face, was a long-lived Yarkora confidence trickster and information broker who lived for several centuries during the waning days of the Old Republic and the reign of Emperor Palpatine. Marae kept details surrounding himself secret, so little was known about his early life. He spent two hundred years courting his chosen mate, and she later bore at least one child of Marae's. Eventually he left her to continue in his life of crime, which was common among the Yarkora people.

Marae specialized in wheedling sensitive information out of various wealthy people without their ever realizing it. He was able to learn how a trader protected his goods by simply speaking with him about almost any topic, before eventually stealing from the trader. He also served as an informant to both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire, selling his information to the highest bidder. Around 1 ABY, Marae joined the entourage of Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, outwardly posing as a harmless merchant while really acting as an informant for Jabba. He ingratiated himself with the Hutt's various employees, gaining their trust and learning of any plots against Jabba. For his part, Marae was handsomely paid. When Jabba was killed at the Great Pit of Carkoon in 4 ABY, Saelt-Marae stole many of his secret financial records and disappeared. Read more...

[edit] Wolf Sazen

"When the shell fails… the essence remains…"
―Wolf Sazen[src]

Wolf Sazen was a male Zabrak Jedi who was active during the Sith-Imperial War and the subsequent Anti-Sith Insurgency. He was Kol Skywalker's Padawan and the Jedi Master of Kol's son, Cade. Before Cade's training could be completed, Darth Krayt's army of Sith, led by Darth Nihl, attacked the Jedi Praxeum on Ossus and Kol was killed fighting them off so that the Jedi younglings and Padawans could escape. Nihl grievously wounded Sazen during the battle, though Cade used the Force to bring him back from the brink of death. Ultimately, however, Cade fled to fight the Sith while Sazen and the other survivors escaped, and the young Skywalker was presumed dead.

Sazen spent several years in hiding, until he and Jedi Knight Shado Vao encountered Skywalker on Vendaxa. Sazen believed that Skywalker would be the one to unite the Jedi against Darth Krayt, though his former apprentice did not want to be a Jedi, and parted ways with Sazen and Vao. They eventually met again at the ruins of the Jedi Praxeum on Ossus, and Skywalker agreed to continue his training. However, Skywalker left after only just weeks, to face Krayt on Coruscant. Sazen, Vao, Jedi Master K'Kruhk, and their Yuuzhan Vong allies were hiding in the Jedi Praxeum when the Sith destroyed it. Read more...

[edit] Myo

"A particularly vicious combatant and one who fought valiantly in three separate Bloodings…"
―Lak Sivrak, speaking of Myo in a report to the Alliance High Command[src]

Myo was a vicious Abyssin scout who was a native of the desert planet Byss in the Outer Rim Territories. As a youth, he proved himself to be a fearless warrior, surviving three tribal Bloodings on his homeworld. He lived most of his life in isolation from his fellow Abyssin after being captured by a Rodian slaver named Malak and taken off-world. Myo was able to escape his captor while her ship was refueling at Kinun Depot, however, and eventually befriended the Bith musician Lirin Car'n, who provided him with passage to the arid world of Tatooine.

Myo became a regular patron of Chalmun's Cantina, becoming fast friends with many of his fellow drinkers, including Car'n, Lak Sivrak, and Dorlar. Dorlar eventually offered Myo a position working for the Galactic Outdoor Survival School, and the Abyssin served as a desert instructor for at least two years during the Galactic Civil War. Like all Abyssin, Myo possessed amazing regenerative abilities, which aided him greatly when living in barren conditions, as well as in brawls. Read more...

[edit] Detien Kaileel

"The Empire is like that, little Crimson. From a distance, we may not feel its danger—we're too far removed from its touch. But once it is upon us, we will hear and see only what the Empire desires."
―Detien Kaileel[src]

Detien Kaileel was a male Kabieroun who served as a Security Chief on board the Kuari Princess during the Galactic Civil War. He left his homeworld after the Galactic Empire began to subjugate it, studying police science and serving as a detective for dozens of years prior to his appointment on the Kuari Princess. The Kabieroun eventually became an ally of the Alliance to Restore the Republic around the time of the destruction of Alderaan in 0 BBY, providing them with blasters stolen from the Kuari Princess.

Eventually, however, his activities came to the attention of the Imperial Security Bureau, and Lieutenant Adion Lang was sent to investigate. Lang arrested Kaileel, and he was kept in solitary confinement aboard the Kuari Princess for several hours. The Kabieroun was prepared to die, though his close friend Celia Durasha broke him out of the ship's brig and attempted to flee the cruiser with him. Lang was waiting for them in the docking bay, though, and held the two fugitives at gunpoint. Kaileel attempted to shoot the Imperial, but missed, and was fired at in return. Kaileel was killed by the blaster bolts, though Durasha was able to evade Lang and ultimately fled the ship. Read more...

[edit] Dice Ibegon

"The Force is within everything."
"But here and now, in this cantina, in the trenches of Hoth, or falling toward some nameless moon of Endor—the Force binds it
all."
―Dice Ibegon and Lak Sivrak[src]

Dice Ibegon was a female Florn Lamproid, a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and the lover of Lak Sivrak. A native of the harsh jungle world of Florn, Ibegon was Force-sensitive and was rumored to have the ability to shift through time. She became a recruiter for the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War, eventually winding up in Mos Eisley, Tatooine. There, she met a Shistavanen outlaw, Lak Sivrak, and the two fell immediately in love. Ibegon persuaded Sivrak to join the Alliance, and they both served for a year between 2 ABY and 3 ABY.

Ibegon fought alongside Sivrak in the Battle of Hoth, though they were separated and she was fatally wounded by falling debris. She had time for several last words to Sivrak, telling him to continue his fight against the Empire, before she died. The Force would allow the two lovers to meet each other again as they relived past experiences, until Sivrak was himself killed at the Battle of Endor. Ibegon and Sivrak became Force ghosts, and they stayed on Endor for eternity. Read more...

[edit] Voolvif Monn

―A B1 battle droid at the Battle of Muunilinst[src]

Voolvif Monn was a Shistavanen Jedi Master who served as a Jedi General during the Clone Wars. After he was discovered to be strong in the Force, Monn was taken as an infant from a planet near the Arah asteroid belt by a Jedi named Paouoish Rahhdool. Rahhdool took his new Padawan back to Coruscant to be trained in the ways of the light side of the Force. Monn proved a keen Jedi, eventually becoming a Jedi Knight some time prior to 22 BBY. He took the Jedi tradition of isolation and solitude to an extreme, standing aloof from his peers.

When the Clone Wars broke out in 22 BBY, Monn was one of a team of Jedi sent to Geonosis to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala. In the battle that ensued, he was one of few survivors, and his ability to cope against the Separatist droid forces allowed him to ascend to the rank of Jedi Master. During the three year conflict between the Republic and the CIS, Monn participated in several more battles, including the Battle of Muunilinst, emerging on the victorious side in each of them. [edit] Pablo-Jill

"Jettison the bodies. Choose a place where the Republic can have a good look at them."
―General Grievous, after the death of Pablo-Jill[src]

Pablo-Jill was an Ongree male native to the Skustell Cluster who served as a Jedi Knight and General during the Clone Wars. Famed for bringing peace and order to the lawless planet of Ord Mantell early in his Jedi career, he participated in the Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY, where over two hundred members of the Jedi Order battled the vast droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Pablo-Jill was one of few on his side to survive, though he became separated from the bulk of his fellow Jedi during the fighting.

Three years later, he led a daring attempt to rescue Supreme Chancellor Palpatine from the clutches of the commander of the Separatist Droid Army, General Grievous, over Coruscant. Many of the other Jedi gave up, but Pablo-Jill continued in his efforts to intercept Grievous's tri-wing shuttle, and eventually dueled with the cyborg aboard the Separatist flagship, Invisible Hand. Grievous proved too strong for the Ongree Jedi Knight, however, and killed him. After the duel, Pablo-Jill's body was launched into space for all the Republic forces to see. Read more...

[edit] Diergu-Rea Duhnes'rd

"Diergu-Rea, what'd you see?"
"Gems, crowns, the wealth of a prince, Sol. Crystals not quite as big as your fist, but big. We're going to be very rich.
"
―Solum'ke and Duhnes'rd discuss their loot on Zelos II[src]

Diergu-Rea Duhnes'rd was a Weequay bounty hunter during the Galactic Civil War, and the mate of Solum'ke. A devoutly religious being, Duhnes'rd preferred to take low profile bounties with a high chance of success, building up a reputation as one who excelled at his trade. Some time during his career, he met fellow Weequay and clanmate Solum'ke, and the two became both lovers. They also formed a bounty hunting team, proving immensely successful as partners.

Around 4 ABY, the two lovers took time out for a holiday on Zelos II, though they were eventually persuaded to join a treasure hunt. A group of Qwohog spacers, led by K'zk, accompanied them out into the Great Zelosi Sea towards Zelosian's Chine, where it was rumored that hoards of priceless treasure were hidden in underwater caves, only accessible during the Day of the Sepulchral Night. En route, they encountered two shipwrecked Corellians, who eventually joined them in their hunt. Eventually reaching Zelosian's Chine, Duhnes'rd and Solum'ke found a vast quantity of treasure, though they were forced to evacuate when the caves began to flood. They had been double-crossed by their companions, however; they were left stranded in the sea, though they retained a small amount of their plundered treasure and vowed to enact their revenge on the Qwohogs and Corellians. [edit] Laddinare Torbin

"Never the most popular of people, Torbin had hundreds of beings determined to murder him."
Voren Na'al[src]

Laddinare Torbin was a member of the Imperial Inquisitorius who served as Grand Inquisitor after 18 BBY. During the waning days of the Galactic Republic, Torbin served as the Director of Information of the Judicial Department, acting as a spokesman for the Department and the Jedi Order. After the establishment of the New Order in 19 BBY, he was inducted into a body that hunted down Jedi and other relics of the Old Republic: the Inquisitorius.

Torbin eventually replaced Hydra as Grand Inquisitor, becoming one of the Empire's most exalted dignitaries. He was responsible for the dissolution of the Church of the First Frequency, and after a mission with fellow Inquisitors Ameesa Darys and Antinnis Tremayne went awry, he engaged Dark Jedi Arden Lyn in combat, cutting off her arm. Rather than killing her, however, he presented her to Emperor Palpatine, and she became one of his Hands. Torbin was an immensely unpopular figure and was the target of many assassination attempts; one was foiled by Odumin in the Corporate Sector, though Torbin's luck ran out one month later when he was killed by an assassin droid on Weerden. [edit] Xamuel Lennox

"Sir, Rebel ships are coming into our sector."
"Good. Our first catch of the day.
"
―Lieutenant Cabbel and Captain Lennox, during the Battle of Hoth[src]

Xamuel Lennox was a captain of the Imperial Navy in command of the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Tyrant, which was attached to Darth Vader's Death Squadron. Hailing from a long line of men with military backgrounds, Lennox began his career as a naval officer with a noble, proud philosophy, similar to that of his ancestors, and he hated the deception and ruthlessness that was commonplace in the New Order. When the Empire became embroiled in a galaxy-spanning conflict with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Lennox found himself caught between both sides; on the one hand, he saw the Empire as mired with corruption and greed; on the other, the Rebellion had begun the war and opposed a legitimate government. He found himself conflicted in his ideology, eventually accepting that corruption was how things would always be.

Lennox and the Tyrant participated in the Battle of Hoth, though the Star Destroyer was hit by ion cannon fire in the early stages of the battle and was unable to assist the Empire. Later, Lennox and his crew were present at the Battle of Endor, where they were defeated by the Rebel Alliance. Lennox's Tyrant was captured by the New Republic several years later and renamed the Rebel Dream. Read more...

[edit] Gwellib Ap-Llewff

"You are an extension of my will."
―Darth Vader, to Gwellib and the other Inquisitors[src]

Gwellib Ap-Llewff was an Imperial Inquisitor and Dark Side Adept during the Galactic Civil War. He was among a group of failed Jedi Agricultural Corps members and other Force-sensitives kept in captivity on Byss during the Clone Wars but was freed when Darth Vader selected him and three others to become his first Inquisitors. Gwellib was taken to Coruscant with the others and was taught the art of lightsaber combat and other dark side abilities by Lord Vader, though he was often bested by another trainee, Antinnis Tremayne. In 19 BBY, Gwellib and his fellow Inquisitors failed to capture fugitive Jedi Padawan "Jodd Sonta," though they did not report their failure to Vader.

Eventually, Gwellib returned to Byss to serve as one of Emperor Palpatine's Dark Side Adepts, and was stationed alongside Savuud Thimram at the entrance to the Emperor's Citadel. He was still on Byss with the Reborn Emperor in 10 ABY; he and Thimram taunted Luke Skywalker as he attempted to gain an audience with Palpatine. Read more...

[edit] Cody Sunn-Childe

"I must prove the dream of peace worth living… by dying for it."
―Cody Sunn-Childe[src]

Cody Sunn-Childe was a hero of the Rebel cause who disappeared for many years after dedicating himself to a pacifist way of life. Over a decade after the first Galactic Empire was declared, Sunn-Childe called to arms and led a group of insurgents against the Empire, becoming the public face of the opposition for a time around 3 BBY. His public opposition and success against the Empire inspired many to follow in his footsteps, and gave hope to many more.

During a battle with Imperial forces on a newly-conquered planet, Sunn-Childe was injured and fell into a large crevasse. There, he was engulfed in an everlasting flame created by the native M'usts, though he survived, gaining the ability to make his dreams come to life. Eventually, Sunn-Childe left the M'usts and used his newfound abilities to build an ornate City of Dreams. He invited his former comrades to live a life of peace and harmony in an alternate dimension, where they waged a more personal war against the Empire. In 3 ABY, outsiders visited the City of Dreams for the first time, when Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca inadvertently created a rent in Sunn-Childe's dimension after a hyperdrive malfunction; however, the Millennium Falcon had been followed by a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers. Sunn-Childe was eventually forced to break his vows and conjure great beasts to fend off the Imperials, though he immediately changed his mind. Determined to maintain his philosophy of peace, Cody Sunn-Childe allowed the Star Destroyers to destroy his City of Dreams and kill its inhabitants. Read more...

[edit] Cypher Bos

"One of the worst was an insect creature named Cypher Bos, a mercenary, as vile and selfcentered as they come."
―Han Solo, to Jacen Solo[src]

Cypher Bos was a notorious Nalrithian bounty hunter active during the Galactic Civil War. He worked predominantly for the Galactic Empire, but also for Jabba Desilijic Tiure, building up a reputation as a violent and capable hunter.

In 3 ABY, Cypher tracked down his eggmate, Phoedris Bos, hoping to kill and impersonate him in order to infiltrate the Alliance to Restore the Republic. He had heard of an impending mission involving Phoedris and Han Solo, and believed that in one swoop he could ruin the Alliance and capture Solo's bounty. Cypher and Phoedris faced off on Ord Mantell; after using the mental link they shared—which existed because the two had hatched from the same egg—to learn many secret Rebel codes, Cypher killed his brother.

Solo arrived several weeks later, and Cypher was ordered to take him and his companion to an Imperial computer terminal so that they could hack into the system. When he realized that Solo's companion was in fact Leia Organa, Cypher ended his charade and held the two hostage. Solo was able to disarm him, though, and after a brief exchange of blaster shots, the Nalrithian bounty hunter was killed. Read more...

[edit] Jhoram Bey

"I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for this that won't cause me to ground, demote or shoot those involved."
―Jhoram Bey[src]

Jhoram Bey was a Weequay commander who served the Galactic Alliance Remnant as Rogue Leader during the Anti-Sith Insurgency. Bey served under Admiral Gar Stazi on his flagship, the Indomitable, around 137 ABY, commanding the prestigious Rogue Squadron. Bey took part in the Alliance's continual raids and harassments against Darth Krayt's Sith Empire, becoming one of Stazi's most trusted officers.

In 137 ABY, Jhoram Bey led Rogue Squadron in an attack on the Mon Calamari Shipyards with the intention of stealing an Imperial Advanced Star Destroyer, the Imperious. Imperial forces were waiting for them, and in the Battle of Mon Calamari, Bey lost several of his pilots to Imperial Predator-class fighters. When the Indomitable received heavy damage, Bey left his squadron to rescue Admiral Stazi, though the Duros refused to accompany him. Feeling he had no other option, Bey knocked Stazi unconscious and forcibly took him away, moments before the Indomitable collided with the shipyards. To punish Bey for striking a superior officer, Stazi promoted him to the late Jaius Yorub's position as the admiral's right-hand-man. Read more...

[edit] Quaal Tavier Catharius

"Colonel Tavier, the leader of the m'Yalfor'ac Order, is a hero of the Bitthævrian people, respected and admired across Guiteica for his anti-Republic rhetoric and strong leadership."
Ayla Shar[src]

Colonel Quaal Tavier Catharius was a formidable warrior and a charismatic leader who served as the thirty-first leader of the m'Yalfor'ac Order, his reign lasting over a dozen years during the Galactic Civil War. A Bitthævrian male from Guiteica, Tavier proved himself a keen soldier in battle against the Galactic Republic, and was eventually promoted to the leader of the m'Yalfor'ac Order and the Guiteica Militia—two organizations dedicated to maintaining strong military forces and protected Guiteica from outside invasion. He quickly became one of the most revered and successful Bitthævrian leaders, surviving many attempts at his ouster; he wore his numerous scars as signs of his bravery and worthiness in combat.

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Tavier was badly wounded in a botched assassination attempt by the traitorous Jael Ganton Farvash; Ganton was sentenced to execution, though he used an old Bitthævrian tradition to force an injured Tavier into accepting a hand-to-hand arena challenge. Ganton cheated in the encounter, sneaking several of his cohorts into the arena, though Tavier's bodyguard, Aul Tarrus Vishav, was able to fend them off; Tavier slew Ganton, saving face before his subjects. He was still in charge of the Order as of 10 ABY, when he publicly declared war with the New Republic. Read more...

[edit] Skorr

"Well, the bounty hunter we ran into on Ord Mantell changed my mind."
Han Solo[src]

Skorr was a cybernetically-enhanced Humanoid bounty hunter active during the waning days of the Old Republic and the early reign of the Galactic Empire. A member of the Bounty Hunters Guild during the Separatist Crisis, after 19 BBY Skorr worked almost exclusively on Ord Mantell. He had a particular loathing for an agent named Kestrel, who had encroached on his territory, though on several occasions he narrowly missed out on capturing her.

Several months after the Battle of Yavin, Skorr and his diminutive associate, Gribbet, kidnapped Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa in the hopes of luring Han Solo to their safehouse in the Ord Mantell outback so that they could cash in on Solo's hefty bounty with Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Solo was able to rescue his companions, however, and in the ensuing dogfight, Skorr was captured by Imperial forces and sentenced to the Spice Mines of Kessel for inadvertently distracting the Imperials and allowing Solo to flee. Skorr escaped and swore to enact his revenge on Solo; some time later, he teamed up with several other bounty hunters and kidnapped Solo on the planet Hoth. The bounty hunters were due to hand Solo over to Boba Fett, who would present him to Jabba, but when Skorr learned that Fett was working with the hated Empire, he decided he would rather see the Corellian dead than in Imperial hands. Skorr confronted Solo and his companions as they attempted to escape their cells, though Solo was able to wrestle him to the ground; in the ensuing struggle, Skorr accidentally turned the weapon on himself, and died. [edit] Kapp Dendo

"Go Kapp. Leave me. Don't die for me."
"Die for you? No way. I'm gonna date a princess, so I'm not dying here.
"
―A Commando Team One member and Kapp Dendo[src]

Kapp Dendo was a male Devaronian who served as one of the Alliance to Restore the Republic's most respected intelligence agents during the Galactic Civil War. Dendo was often teamed with another agent, named Winter, whose holographic memory and analytical skills complemented Dendo's ability to blend into the underworld.

The two worked together alongside Rogue Squadron on Tatooine after the Battle of Endor, securing an Imperial weapons cache from a criminal named Firith Olan. After that mission, Dendo was given control of his own elite squad, Commando Team One. The team was placed undercover on Brentaal IV in the months that followed, and alongside several members of Rogue Squadron, Dendo was able to sabotage an Imperial defense platform in the wake of a New Republic invasion.

Later, he worked in conjunction with the Rogues on Ciutric IV, retrieving former Imperial Grand Vizier Sate Pestage from Empress Ysanne Isard's soldiers. The mission went awry, however, after Admiral Delak Krennel and an Interdictor Cruiser were sent to Ciutric by the Imperial Ruling Council, preventing the New Republic operatives from escaping. Dendo and the Rogues lost several personnel, while Pestage was killed by Krennel after refusing to leave the planet with Commando Team One. Dendo later became a colonel, and continued to serve through the Thrawn campaign, when Grand Admiral Thrawn launched a major offensive on New Republic territory. After Thrawn's demise, he participated in the campaign against Imperial warlord Delak Krennel, fighting in the battles of Liinade III and Ciutric IV. He was later appointed a general, serving in the Yuuzhan Vong War at the Battle of Ithor. Read more...

[edit] Aruk Besadii Aora

"Aruk is a giant among Hutts!"
―Durga's opinion of his father[src]

Aruk Besadii Aora, known to most as Aruk the Great, was a Hutt crime lord and the leader of the Besadii kajidic for over fifteen years before the Battle of Yavin. Around 100 BBY, he birthed a child, Durga, who had a large birthmark on one side of his face; Aruk's peers implored him to kill his child, feeling the birthmark made him impure and unworthy to be a Hutt. However, Aruk grew to love his child and kept Durga, training him to become his heir.

Around 15 BBY, Aruk and his brother Zavval concocted a scheme to lure disheartened sentients to the planet Ylesia, claiming that it was a religious pilgrimage—in fact, it was a slaving and spice-producing operation. The entire operation was extremely lucrative, allowing Besadii to overtake its traditional rivals, Desilijic, as the most successful of the Hutt clans. Desilijic's leaders, Jiliac and Jabba, eventually grew tired of being outshone by Aruk and had him killed via a slow-acting poison. A distraught Durga sought the help of Black Sun to learn the identities of his father's killers and avenged Aruk personally when he killed Jiliac. Durga was indebted to Black Sun for its help, though, and much of the criminal empire built by Aruk went over to Black Sun's leader, Xizor. Aruk's only offspring was eventually killed by the New Republic in 12 ABY after attempting to build his own superweapon, the Darksaber. Read more...

[edit] Boushh

"What happened to this Boushh? He retired?"
"Quite suddenly. He tried to rascal Black Sun for more credits on a delivery for which there was an agreed-upon contract. That was…unwise.
"
―Guri, giving Boushh's outfit to Leia Organa[src]

Boushh was a successful male Ubese bounty hunter around the time of the formation of the Galactic Empire. Known for his melee skills and penchant for thermal detonators, Boushh was considered cool-headed in a profession often filled with trigger-happy mercenaries, and operated as a freelancer traveling from system to system looking for work. He wore a suit of customized Ubese armor—layers of brown survival material and an optically-enhanced helmet which both provided him with protection and obscured his identity. Although he made sure to never officially join the Bounty Hunters Guild, Boushh worked for Crimson Nova, a sect of the Guild dedicated to hunting fugitive Jedi. During the Great Jedi Purge, he helped hunt Jedi Knight Kai Justiss alongside bounty hunters Zuckuss and Breela.

After that, Boushh began to work mainly for Black Sun, the largest criminal syndicate in the galaxy. In 18 BBY, he was sent to hunt down Kodo and Aleema Finn on Coruscant, but was intercepted by Jedi Padawan Drake Lo'gaan. Lo'gaan and Boushh fought, but ultimately allied together when hordes of Imperial stormtroopers raided the building. Lo'gaan escaped and Boushh was apprehended, but he was later released. Many years later, around 3 ABY, Boushh captured a Nimbanel for Black Sun, but in doing so spent a considerable amount of credits. He bartered with Xizor for a 50% greater payment; this was a mistake, as Xizor, feeling Boushh was becoming a hindrance, had his Human replica droid, Guri, kill the Ubese. Boushh's trademark armor was later used by Leia Organa on missions to infiltrate Coruscant and Jabba's Palace. Read more...

[edit] Spiker

"You probably won't make it. I'd like to say I'm sorry, Spiker, but I never liked you anyway."
―Jix, after Spiker was badly injured in a swoop accident[src]

Spiker was a Chiss mercenary and a member of Big Gizz's swoop gang, working for Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine. One of few Chiss to ever leave the Unknown Regions during the time of the Empire, none knew of his heritage, not even Spiker himself. Several years before the Battle of Yavin, he became an undercover agent in Jabba the Hutt's swoop gang, spying on the gang's leader, Big Gizz, for Jabba, while severely downplaying his intelligence. For his efforts, Spiker was rewarded with a suit of uniquely spiked armor from Jabba, from which he earned his nickname.

Spiker worked with Gizz for several years, and his deception was never discovered; together with the rest of the gang, he intimidated Jabba's clients and customers into repaying their debts, and earned a reputation for surviving extremely dangerous maneuvers. In 3 ABY, the gang took on a new member, Jix, who was in truth an agent of Lord Darth Vader. Jix attacked Gizz, and later lied to Spiker, claiming that Gizz had been killed in a collision. Jix left Spiker to die after his swoop bike exploded several days later in a chase for Boba Fett. Spiker survived, and was healed by members of the B'omarr Order; he was also reunited with Gizz, and the two hatched a plan to commandeer a secret ship of Jabba's in Glass Mountain. Their plan went awry when Gorga the Hutt also attempted to claim the ship, and they ultimately came away from the adventure with nothing, save for a straggling Lizling named Onoh. During their travels, the trio were attacked by a rogue Imperial dark trooper, though they managed to survive, barely. After that, Spiker and Gizz were believed to have disappeared. Read more...

[edit] Valarian

"My goodness, stop blathering. I do not handle business like some other crime lords do. I think this can be settled quietly. I understand that the shipment was lost. Consider yourself on probation, and report for your next assignment. The value of the cargo will be deducted from your cut of this new shipment. This time."
―Lady Valarian, to an employee[src]

Lady Valarian was a female Whiphid from Toola who became a crime lord and Jabba Desilijic Tiure's main competitor on Tatooine. Her parents were both gangsters on Toola, though when they were imprisoned for life she took up a criminal life of her own. She eventually traveled to Mos Eisley on Tatooine and purchased the Lucky Despot, an old cargo hauler that had been refitted as a hotel and cantina. She found stern opposition to her presence from Jabba the Hutt, but the two criminals eventually reached accords; privately, however, they still despised and sought to ruin each other.

In 0 BBY, Valarian arranged to wed famous Whiphid bounty hunter D'Wopp, and organized an elaborate ceremony and reception in the Lucky Despot. When D'Wopp accepted a bounty on Han Solo posted by Jabba during the wedding, Valarian attacked and killed him, starting a massive brawl. Stormtroopers eventually arrived to raid the hotel; Valarian's illegal gambling was discovered and her wedding, already a fiasco, was stopped. Valarian had D'Wopp shipped home in tiny pieces, though she was determined to continue her criminal operations and usurp Jabba. She had a former lover, J'Quille, among others, infiltrate Jabba's Palace and attempt to kill the Hutt, though in the end he was killed by Leia Organa during the Skirmish at Carkoon. Valarian attempted to take control of Jabba's organization, and although she encountered many difficulties, the Whiphid eventually seized command of Tatooine's criminal affairs. She made a pact with the New Republic, and was still active during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Read more...

[edit] Jorj Car'das

"You have excellent insight into the hearts of others."
Thrawn[src]

Jorj Car'das was a Human male from Corellia who lived during the time of the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, and the New Republic. Early in his life, Car'das joined the crew of the smuggling ship Bargain Hunter, working mainly as a bootlegger for the Hutts. In 27 BBY, Car'das, Dubrak Qennto, and Maris Ferasi became the captives of Commander Thrawn of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force. Thrawn wished to learn the language of the Republic from the smugglers; they stayed in his base on Crustai for several weeks, teaching him Basic and learning the Chiss language, Cheunh. Car'das assisted Thrawn in defeating the alien Vagaari, before being allowed to return to the Republic.

Car'das eventually parted ways with his companions after being given an offer by Sith agent Kinman Doriana to start a smuggling organization that would double as an intelligence operation for Darth Sidious. Car'das's organization flourished, and he built up a huge repository of information. However, he was kidnapped by a Dark Jedi during the Clone Wars, and although he was rescued by Jedi Master Yoda, Car'das left the encounter a changed man. He became extremely ruthless during the time of the Empire, though his health began to deteriorate; Yoda healed him with the Force initially, though the second time Car'das visited Yoda's planet of residence, Dagobah, the Jedi Master refused to heal him, sending him to the Aing-Tii monks instead. Car'das ultimately spent over a dozen years studying with the Aing-Tii, learning of their views on the Force. He later settled down on the planet Exocron, though in 19 ABY he was approached by smuggler Talon Karrde, who was seeking an intact copy of the Caamas Document in the hopes of ending the crisis. Car'das did not possess a copy, but he was privy to top secret information about Moff Vilim Disra's plot to impersonate Thrawn, which Karrde used to help end the crisis. Read more...

[edit] Daine Jir

"Holding her is dangerous. If word of this gets out, it could generate sympathy for the Rebellion in the Senate."
―Daine Jir, to Darth Vader, referring to Leia Organa[src]

Daine Jir was a bold and outspoken 501st Legion stormtrooper officer, serving under Darth Vader aboard the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Devastator as a commander during the hunt for the stolen Death Star plans in 0 BBY. Jir—part of a family that had donated a genetic template for the Imperial stormtrooper development program—proved himself to be a competent and ruthless officer, but many suspected he would not last long under Vader's command after he called one of the Dark Lord's decisions into doubt. Vader was impressed with Jir's brutal honesty, and promoted him instead of killing him.

In 0 BBY, Jir led a contingent of the 501st in an attack on the CR90 corvette Tantive IV, on which Vader believed Senator Leia Organa had received transmissions containing the Death Star plans. The 501st picked off the Rebel forces aboard the ship and captured Organa, but despite a thorough comb through the corvette no trace of the plans could be found. Jir was tasked with destroying the ship and alerting the Imperial Senate that it had been lost in a meteorite strike. Read more...

[edit] Dhol

"No, my Lady. I don't need the Shamer's power of empathy to discern your role in luring me to this place. No, indeed. Your position is fatally compromised."
Darth Vader, to Lady Dhol[src]

Lady Dhol, the ruler of Cheelit, was a female squid-like sentient. She lived in a floating, transparent globe in her hive-palace, where she amused herself by playing the game of Firepath. During the Galactic Civil War, she and the Guild of Vindicators hatched a plan to assassinate Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. Dhol lured Vader to her hive-palace and engaged him in a game of Firepath, while a Guild assassin infiltrated the hive-palace and eliminated Vader's guards. The assassin, Clat the Shamer, confronted Vader, but inadvertently stepped onto the Firepath board; the Sith Lord used the game's controls to incinerate Clat and informed Dhol that he knew of her part in the scheme. He then ignited one of the rings on the Firepath board, above which Dhol was floating, and killed her. Read more...

[edit] Crueya Vandron

"One of the Emperor's advisors, one Crueya Vandron, saw the potential wealth of a populist movement which could be molded into a political tool."
Voren Na'al[src]

Crueya Vandron was the lord of House Vandron, one of the Ancient Houses of the Senex sector; additionally he was an advisor to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and an important figure in the establishment of the New Order. Alongside his wife, Lady Theala Vandron, he ruled the Senex sector, an ancient domain that operated independently from the Galactic Republic.

After the Senex sector finally joined the Republic during the Separatist Crisis, Vandron became an advisor to Chancellor Palpatine and a leading member of the Commission for the Protection of the Republic. When Palpatine dissolved the Republic and created the first Galactic Empire, Vandron helped shape the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order—COMPOR's successor—into a driving force in Imperial organization, alongside the likes of Ishin-Il-Raz, Ardus Kaine, and Janus Greejatus. While he was not a member of the organization personally, he provided the funding for much of its activities, and he also helped establish the Imperial Security Bureau; a Humanocentric and a deep believer in the Empire and its key ideals, he attempted to work the idea of "Imperial infallibility" into the Imperial legal code around 0 BBY, but was met with stern opposition by the Justice department. By 12 ABY, Theala Vandron Jr. had assumed the leadership of House Vandron. Read more...

[edit] Bidlo Kwerve

"I will watch your struggles and remember them for all time."
Jabba Desilijic Tiure, to Bidlo Kwerve[src]

Bidlo Kwerve was a Corellian pirate and smuggler who served Jabba Desilijic Tiure. A tall, grizzled man with scarred features and a mane of black hair, he was known for his greediness and hot temper, and was quick to respond to any perceived insults. Kwerve and a Twi'lek named Bib Fortuna competed to become Jabba's new majordomo after the Hutt deemed his previous retainer, Naroon Cuthus, too old and incapable of carrying out his duties. Kwerve and Fortuna hated each other with a passion and went to great lengths to prove themselves in Jabba's eyes, though Jabba considered each as incompetent as the other.

Kwerve disliked Jabba's top pilot, Han Solo, and the two often clashed, both in words and with blasters. Around 2 BBY, he considered leaving Jabba's employ because of the continual menial tasks that were being asked of him, and though Fortuna encouraged him to quit, he never did. Shortly before the Battle of Yavin, Kwerve discovered a crashed ship in the Tatooinian desert, with a live rancor inside it. Hoping to present the beast to Jabba for his birthday, he begrudgingly sought the aid of Fortuna to help him transport it to Jabba's Palace. Jabba was impressed with the initiative shown by his two top lieutenants and offered to make one of them his new majordomo; the other would be given the "greater honor," though Jabba did not specify what this was. Ever greedy, Kwerve accepted the "greater honor"—he became the rancor's first victim and was devoured in a pit below Jabba's court. The uncouth Corellian did get his revenge, posthumously, when Luke Skywalker used Kwerve's skull to kill the rancor in 4 ABY. Read more...

[edit] Daye Azur-Jamin

"There is much good in you, but your pride and your pain make you a lesser man. Give your life to service, and you will save it."
―Agapos, to Daye Azur-Jamin[src]

Daye Azur-Jamin was a Human male from Druckenwell, a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and later a Jedi Knight of the New Jedi Order. He worked for I'att Armament, a weapons factory on his homeworld, as the Second Undersupervisor to Tinian I'att, the company's heiress. The two fell in love and were engaged, and Azur-Jamin confided in her his Force-sensitivity. Early in the Galactic Civil War, Azur-Jamin helped develop a revolutionary anti-energy field for stormtrooper armor, which I'att Armament hoped to sell in bulk to the Empire. However, Imperial Moff Eisen Kerioth double-crossed the arms manufacturers, executing Tinian's grandparents and claiming the technology as his own. Azur-Jamin destroyed the factory from the inside so that Tinian could escape; grievously wounded, he turned to the Rebel Alliance for medical treatment.

After having Tinian informed that he had perished in the explosion, Azur-Jamin was taken to a Rebel cell on Silver Station, but his stay in a bacta tank was cut short by an Imperial raid. His injuries—crushed legs, damaged arms, loss of clear sight, and head wounds—became permanent, and Azur-Jamin's cybernetic body parts were almost as numerous as his organic ones. Ultimately, after his eyesight was restored by the Sunesi on Monor II, he decided to track down his lover, and they were eventually reunited. Azur-Jamin joined Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order, as did his and Tinian's son, Tam, becoming a revered Jedi Knight. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Daye served as a scout, going behind enemy lines to monitor damage done by the Yuuzhan Vong. However, during a botched mission on Nal Hutta, he lost contact with the Order for over a year, and was turned to the dark side of the Force by a Dark Jedi. After kidnapping Kyle Katarn, he was apprehended by a team of commandos led by Jan Ors and Mara Jade Skywalker, who attempted to redeem him. Read more...

[edit] Zorba Desilijic Tiure

"Zorba has been a shameful pus-filled boil on the glorious Hutt business community, and this sentencing is a heated lancing long overdue. His selfish antics have given an unwarranted criminal taint to the Hutt reputation that can now begin to rebuild with his absence."
Aruk Besadii Aora[src]

Zorba Desilijic Tiure was a Hutt crime lord and the leader of the Desilijic kajidic. One of few Hutts to possess hair—as a result of a genetic throwback—Zorba was the sibling of Jiliac, Ziro and Pazda, and the parent of several Hutts, among them Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Zorba was an inept leader of Desilijic, and he had few supporters in his clan, due to his outlandish schemes and financial mismanagement. During the Separatist Crisis, he was apprehended by law enforcement and sentenced to prison on the planet Kip. Jiliac took over as Desilijic leader, and Jabba inherited much of Zorba's holdings.

In 5 ABY, Zorba was released by agents of Director of Imperial Intelligence Ysanne Isard, and traveled to Jabba's Palace on Tatooine in his ship, the Zorba Express. Zorba was refused admission to the palace, and he later discovered that Jabba had been killed by Princess Leia Organa. Determined to punish Organa, Zorba put out a bounty on her. Using a secret will of his son's, Zorba laid claim to much of Jabba's holdings throughout the galaxy, including his casino on Bespin and his desert citadel on Tatooine.

On Bespin, Zorba won control of Cloud City from Lando Calrissian, and learned that Organa was in the city, in Imperial warlord Trioculus's captivity. He attempted to bargain with Trioculus for Organa to be handed over to him, but he refused, and Imperial forces clashed with Zorba's Cloud Police. Zorba emerged on top, and believed he had killed Organa after destroying an Imperial factory barge. Zorba's minions later informed him that Organa had survived, but he captured her on Hologram Fun World and brought her to Tatooine, planning to feed her to the sarlacc. Trioculus, however, rescued Organa, and fed Zorba himself to the sarlacc. Zorba escaped as well and helped Trioculus's rivals, the false Prophets of the Dark Side, defeat him. Zorba regained leadership of the Desilijic clan, but Jabba's will was later declared a forgery by the Hutt Grand Council. Disgraced, Zorba went into hiding and was rumored to have died soon thereafter. Read more...

[edit] Even Piell

"What we do, we do not do for gratitude, Adi Gallia. We do it in accordance to the principals [sic] of the Force…and for the peace of the Republic!"
―Even Piell[src]

Even Piell was a long-lived Lannik Jedi Master who served on the Jedi High Council during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. A native of the war-torn planet Lannik, he was taken from poverty and trained as a Jedi Knight at a young age, and proved to be a fierce warrior and talented Force-user. He became a Master, and was given a long-term seat on the Jedi High Council, serving on the Council during the Stark Hyperspace War, Yinchorri Uprising, and Eriadu Trade Summit. Piell also occasionally served with the Palace Guard of his species's prince, and foiled an assassination attempt on the prince—at the cost of one of his eyes.

In 31 BBY, Piell was part of a team of Jedi sent to Malastare to conduct peace negotiations between the newest prince of Lannik, R'cardo Sooflie IX, and the Red Iaro revolutionaries, who wanted the fighting to stop. The negotiations proved fruitless, and several of Sooflie's guardsmen—one of whom Piell had once served alongside—attempted to assassinate the Jedi to win support for the Red Iaro. Piell managed to foil the attempt, and later helped save Sooflie from an attempt on his life by the remaining Red Iaro members. He continued to sit on the Council during the Separatist Crisis, and fought at Geonosis and in many other battles during the Clone Wars. He evaded Order 66 and Operation: Knightfall in 19 BBY, hiding in Coruscant's underlevels for several months, searching for a droid containing many secrets about the Empire, but was killed by stormtroopers before he could locate it. He entrusted the mission to his former Padawan, Jax Pavan, though the information contained in the droid turned out to be a ruse orchestrated by Darth Vader, in an attempt to lure out Pavan. [edit] Teta

"My people, the battles are nearly over, the political strife at an end—and peace is upon us! The seven worlds have united in a glorious alliance for greater prosperity and military strength."
―Empress Teta[src]

Teta was the Empress of the Koros system in 5,000 BBY, the instigator of the Unification Wars of Koros, and a key military commander in the Great Hyperspace War. Born into nobility on the wealthy planet of Koros Major, Teta eventually inherited the Koros empire; she quickly became known as the "Warrior Empress," after leading her army into battle and personally foiling many assassination attempts. Over 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, Teta began the Unification Wars—an attempt to end the lawless poverty of the system's other worlds and bring them under her rule—with her Jedi advisor, Memit Nadill, at her side. Teta commanded her forces to victory, conquering the rebels on the other planets; she was helped by Nadill and Jedi apprentice Odan-Urr, who used battle meditation to prevent a bloodbath at the Battle of Kirrek.

Shortly after uniting the system, Teta was one of few to heed Odan-Urr's warnings about an impending invasion of the Galactic Republic from the Sith Empire, but her attempts to warn the Galactic Senate ended in failure. When the Sith launched their attack, Koros was one of the first planets to see combat; Teta's forces were successful in driving back the Sith fleet, and, alongside a Republic task force, she pursued the fleet to Primus Goluud, where Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow had ordered the remnants of his fleet to converge. Sadow managed to escape back to the Sith throneworld of Korriban, but again Teta's fleet followed, and crippled his forces at the Battle of Korriban. With the war ended, Teta returned home to allow her soldiers to recuperate; her reign lasted over 175 years in total, and for her benevolent leadership, the system was renamed in her honor. [edit] Uueg Tching

"There are three ways to defeat your enemy. The first, and most obvious, is to better him in a trial of force. The best way is to have him destroy himself; few enemies are so obliging. The middle way is to destroy your enemy from within. Judicious application of the middle way shall make your blows more effective if you later take the way of force. From the middle way it is also possible to push your enemy onto the path of self-destruction."
―Uueg Tching's oft-quoted saying[src]

Uueg Tching, a male member of the Kitel Phard Dynasty and the fifty-fourth Emperor of Atrisia, was famous for his ability to keep order through espionage, assassination, and deception. Through his direction, he was able to subvert over thirty rebellions to his rule; Uueg's empire was used a basis for the Galactic Empire, which was founded by Palpatine some 3,000 years after Uueg's death.

Uueg's ascension to Emperor coincided with the discovery of several additional continents on his homeworld, but he was able to unify the continents through oppression, until the Atrisian Empire ruled the entire planet. Uueg was revered by many of his subjects, and he was constantly trailed by a cadre of scribes, who documented his teachings on scrolls, which eventually became known as the Sayings, lessons he hoped would help his descendants thrive when they reached power themselves. After his death, few members of the Tching Dynasty grasped his teachings, though those who did had very successful reigns. The Sayings became famous across the galaxy centuries after Uueg's time; they were quoted at Commission for the Protection of the Republic rallies, in historical documents, and were taught to all new recruits of Imperial Intelligence. [edit] Rufaan Tigellinus

"Tigellinus' Star Rising in Imperial Court…Grand Admiral Rufaan Tigellinus is increasingly being seen as a force to be reckoned with in the Emperor's Court."
―Alendar Jarvis, New Order Progressive[src]

Rufaan Tigellinus was a Grand Admiral and later a Grand Moff of the Galactic Empire until his death in 5 ABY. Known for his political savvy and charisma, Tigellinus was widely followed in the media and was considered to be a key player in Imperial Court politics. He was made a Grand Admiral in 2 BBY and, from the helm of his Imperial-class Star Destroyer, Avatar, spent much time rooting out pirates in the Outer Rim Territories. During the Galactic Civil War, Tigellinus stepped up in the Imperial Court in a bid for further power, allying himself with the likes of Moff Vilim Disra and Imperial Advisor Alec Pradeux, and becoming a member of the ancient, exclusive Order of the Canted Circle. When Thrawn, an alien admiral in the Imperial Navy, tried his hand at Imperial Court politics, the Humanocentric Grand Admiral Tigellinus befriended and later betrayed him, until Thrawn was unwelcome in the Empire.

Soon thereafter, Tigellinus brought his political clout to bear in order to have himself appointed as Grand Moff of the Imperial Center Oversector with the help of Vilim Disra, who became something of a mentor to Tigellinus. After Emperor Palpatine perished at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Tigellinus became involved with the Central Committee of Grand Moffs. The Committee's leader, Bertroff Hissa, a near-Human with whom Tigellinus had frequently butted heads, presented Tigellinus with a demeaning offer—a place on the Committee but not the leadership many had expected he would be awarded—hoping that he would refuse and give Hissa an excuse to execute him. Tigellinus prepared to accept the offer, but his close friend Disra advised against this; Tigellinus refused the appointment, and the Committee executed him for perceived disloyalty, while Disra laid claims to his assets and seat on the Committee. [edit] Grael

"I may be furry and cute, but I know how to kill with this spear."
―Grael[src]

A Force-sensitive Ewok, Grael was a warrior, a master hunter, an exceptional musician, and an agent of the New Republic. A native of Tribe Panshee village on the Forest Moon of Endor, he was named after an Ewok deity, and was a devout follower of the way of the Tree Spirits. He was a skilled hunter, often leading expeditions or hunting solo with great success. Although he did not know it, the Force guided him while hunting, letting him know his prey's location.

In 4 ABY, he encountered Rebel Captain Junas Turner by chance while hunting, and the two were captured by Imperial stormtroopers. They were transported to the prison facility at Balis-Baurgh, where Grael slowly learned Basic from Turner and several of his Rebel allies. Eventually, Grael realized he was able to use his flute to command the droids who maintained the prison, and he had them free himself and Turner, though he could not rescue the other Rebels. They commandeered a starship and traveled to Sullust, hoping to warn the Rebel fleet of the second Death Star. By the time they arrived, however, the Rebels had already engaged the Death Star at Endor, and destroyed it. Grael returned home to his family, before partaking in many Rebel and New Republic missions with Turner. Read more...

[edit] Oppo Rancisis

"To walk the path of the Jedi, one's spirit must be strong. That requires discipline."
―Oppo Rancisis[src]

Oppo Rancisis, an adept strategist and tactician, was a Thisspiasian male who abdicated the throne of his homeworld in favor of becoming a Jedi Master. Offered to the Jedi Order as an infant by his mother, the Blood Monarch of Thisspias, Rancisis was apprenticed to Master Yaddle, training to become a Jedi Knight almost two centuries before the Battle of Yavin. In 186 BBY, Rancisis' sister was killed by terrorists, and he was offered the throne; he declined, instead preferring to continue on the path of the Jedi.

After achieving the rank of Master and being given a place on the Jedi High Council, Rancisis served as one of the Jedi's top military advisors due to his tactical nous. He was also a member of and often led the Council of Reconciliation. Rancisis served the Jedi Council through the re-emergence of the Sith, the Separatist Crisis, and the Battle of Geonosis, and when the Clone Wars began, he became a Senior Jedi General. Along with Yoda, Rancisis spent much of the war on Coruscant, organizing and coordinating Republic forces through the galaxy, such as during the defense of Kamino and the Battle of Zaadja, conferring with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and serving on the Council of Reconciliation.

Near the close of the war, Rancisis learned of a Separatist operation on the planet Saleucami; Dark Acolyte Sora Bulq was overseeing the creation of a cloned Morgukai "Shadow Army," which Rancisis feared would prove a match for the Jedi. The Thisspiasian Jedi Master led a team of Jedi and three battalions of clone troopers to Saleucami, and besieged the planet for five months. Rancisis used his battle meditation to aid Republic forces during the conflict, to the point of exhaustion. Sora Bulq used this to his advantage, sending a group of Anzati assassins to slay Rancisis, but the Jedi Master was able to fend them off and defeated his attackers. However, the attack had in fact been a ruse orchestrated by Bulq, who used the distraction to enter Rancisis' chamber unnoticed and stab the Thisspiasian in the back, killing him. Read more...

[edit] Orley Vanicus

"Battle stations! Fire on my signal!"
―Admiral Orley Vanicus[src]

Admiral Orley Vanicus was considered a hero of the Great Sith War. A member of the Republic Navy and captain of the command ship Reliance over four thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, he was a simple man who didn't dabble in politics or bureaucracy and stuck with what he specialized at: commanding starships. During the Krath conflict, he commanded a mission to the Empress Teta system alongside Jedi Knights Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider, with the intention of protecting Koros Major from the Krath faction. Vanicus and his men were too late, though, and the mission was a failure; they were tricked by the dark side illusions of Sith sorceress Aleema Keto, and suicide Krath Chaos fighters pummeled the Reliance and other ships, until Vanicus ordered a retreat.

Later, during the Great Sith War, he was dispatched to the shipyards at Foerost with the intention of intercepting a pirate group that had been raiding the Republic for weeks. His forces were too late, arriving to find that the majority of the ships under construction at the facility had been stolen and the defensive fleet stationed there routed. He and his staff salvaged what they could, and through a security recording in one of the shipyard's control centers, Vanicus discovered that the pirates' leader was Ulic Qel-Droma, who had left the Republic and joined the Sith. Acting on planted intelligence which Qel-Droma hoped would lure the Republic away from their capital of Coruscant, Vanicus sent the majority of the Republic Navy to Kemplex IX, believing that Qel-Droma's forces were gathered there. Qel-Droma and his Mandalorian allies subsequently launched an attack on the defenseless Coruscant, with Qel-Droma's fellow Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun slaying the Supreme Chancellor and Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. Later in the war, Vanicus led a joint Republic/Onderonian force in battle against Mandalore the Indomitable, driving them back to the wild jungle moon of Dxun, where most of the Mandalorians were killed by native predators. After the Sith War, Vanicus was considered something of a war hero, and continued to serve the Republic Navy for a time. Read more...

[edit] Xenon Nnaksta

"He is a fierce combatant and a reckless (as opposed to "wreck-less") driver: his companions make a point to not let him drive during missions."
―Rebel Alliance Intelligence report[src]

Lieutenant Commander Xenon Nnaksta, nicknamed Xe, was a Vodran scout, a graduate of the Galactic Outdoor Survival School, and a member of both the Rebel Alliance and New Republic. Nnaksta was born on the planet Vodran during the last days of the Republic; his parents perished during the Thruncan Insurrection—orphaned, he lived as a street urchin for a time before eventually finding his way to the planet Delassin VI, where he worked as a longshoreman. He proved to be skilled at his job, and was later personally selected by industry magnate Meysen Kayson to work as a laborer in a retail store. Within two years, he had been promoted to executive of the entire chain and had become a close friend of Kayson. After Kayson went in hiding from the Empire, Nnaksta took control of the Greel Wood Logging Corporation, though before long he appointed a number of regents while he attended the Galactic Outdoor Survival School for several years.

Nnaksta graduated from GOSS in 12 BBY as part of an highly successful class, before returning to the Greel Wood Logging Corporation. However, after helping close friend and former GOSS classmate Adazian Liebke escape from Imperial authorities, he was drafted into the Rebel Alliance, serving with the Eclipse Team branch of Alliance Special Forces. He continued to serve with the New Republic after the Battle of Endor, and was one of the Republic officers targeted for assassination by the traitorous Ma'w'shiye, a former Rebel agent who had served with Nnaksta at GOSS. After evading Ma'w'shiye's efforts, he became part of a task force charged with hunting the traitor down. Read more...

[edit] Xamar

"I can sssee the future, you know. I just had to quit looking at the wrong one."
―Xamar[src]

Xamar was a male Khil trained as a Jedi by Krynda Draay following the Great Sith War, who later took part in the Padawan Massacre of Taris. After being discovered to be Force-sensitive as a youth, he was taken to the Draay Estate on Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi Consular, along with a group of other talented students. Together, this group's abilities were far greater than the sum of their parts, and their teacher, Krynda Draay, believed they were the group she had prophesied would vanquish the threat of the Sith. After completing their training, Xamar and the others were inducted into the secret, cabalistic Jedi Covenant, and formed the First WatchCircle, though he spent some time serving with both the Republic Fleet and the navy of his homeworld. Early in the Mandalorian Wars, the First WatchCircle took on a group of Padawans on Taris, with Xamar training a Nagai named Gharn.

However, the WatchCircle had a vision of one of the Padawans turning to the dark side and slaying them all, and they decided to kill each of their Padawans to prevent it from happening. Xamar was far more cautious about the massacre than his peers, but ultimately slew Gharn with his lightsaber. One of the Padawans, Zayne Carrick, escaped, and the WatchCircle made him a scapegoat for the murders, but was unable to apprehend him. After Carrick killed Covenant members Raana Tey and Feln, the WatchCircle's leader, Lucien Draay, assigned Xamar to Republic Admiral Saul Karath's flagship, Courageous, to try to prevent Carrick from reaching Coruscant and exposing the Covenant to the Jedi Order proper. In Xamar's earlier vision, he had been killed by friendly fire while aboard a Republic ship; rather than waiting to meet his fate, he decided to take the initiative and make his own luck. He fled the Republic ship, captured Carrick personally, and presented him to the Jedi Council. Xamar confessed to killing the Padawans and supplied the Council with information on the Covenant. Enacting a plan formulated by Xamar and the Council, the Khil took Carrick to the Draay Estate, pretending to have captured him by force, though things went awry, and his plot was foiled by Krynda's retainer, Haazen. A force of Jedi Knights supplied by the Council arrived, and Xamar clashed blades with a number of Covenant members before fleeing outside. There, he was killed when an overhead Republic ship fired on his position. Read more...

[edit] Var'Rotha Fin'Rotha

"Our guide told us the place used to have mixed fighting every night, till some Tolanese bounty hunter busted the place up and did away with the original owners."
―Lobar Aybock[src]

Var'Rotha Fin'Rotha was a Tolanese bounty hunter who operated out of the Outer Rim prior to the Galactic Civil War. Good with women and even better with weapons, he was confident and successful in his line of work, and put great pride into his ship, the Tolan's Tusk, which he frequently furnished with forbidden modifications.

Fin'Rotha owned a duo of personal slaves: Gorge and Greel, two Gamorrean brothers. He was unaware that the two were more intelligent than the average Gamorrean, and underestimated them to his detriment. While he was meant to be cleaning the Tolan's Tusk, Greel sabotaged the ship's hyperdrive and freed his brother; they cornered their master and gave him two choices: he could leave the ship in an escape pod or through an airlock.

He chose the former and was left hideously scarred in the ensuing crash on the nearest planet. Ashamed and vengeful, Fin'Rotha made it his mission to track them down and exact his revenge. He eventually found them on Reuss VIII, and—along with a gang of hired mercenaries—laid siege to their cantina, killing the two Gamorreans and anyone else who got in his way. Read more...

[edit] Chancellor Squidface

"I just wanted to say that you, and the whole Republic Senate are irrelevant. The Jedi Knights have coddled you for centuries. You are outdated and ineffective…puppets to tradition…"
―Exar Kun, to the Supreme Chancellor[src]

The Supreme Chancellor at the time of the Great Sith War was a gray-skinned, mollusk-like sentient male. A member of the Galactic Senate, he became Chancellor after the death of Sidrona Diath in 3,997 BBY. He was a firm supporter of the Jedi, and a friend of Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas and Minister of Defense Netus. Just one standard year into the Chancellor's reign, the Galactic Republic fell prey to a group of unidentified terrorists, who plundered and looted many shipyards for a number of months, avoiding detection and apprehension by the Republic Navy. Rumors abounded that a rogue Jedi Knight was responsible, though the Chancellor dismissed them; he and the Senate refused the Jedi Order clearance to intervene and deal with the supposed rogue Jedi itself.

The Order sent Vodo-Siosk Baas to meet with the Chancellor and the Senate and persuade them to overturn their decision, though as they rendezvoused, Dark Lord of the Sith Ulic Qel-Droma—a former Jedi, who had been responsible for the terrorist strikes—launched an attack on Coruscant, capital world of the Republic. The Republic was able to fend his forces off, though, and captured Qel-Droma; the Chancellor decreed that he would be put on trial, held accountable for his crimes, and punished with death. Qel-Droma refused to show regret for his actions at the trial, but before the Chancellor and his fellow Senate members could order his execution, Qel-Droma's fellow Sith Lord Exar Kun forced entry into the Senate Hall. He used the Force to subdue the audience and approached the pulpit on which the Chancellor stood. The Chancellor attempted to attack Kun with his staff; the Sith Lord was too powerful, though, using the dark side to force the Chancellor into telling the congregation that the Senate was a meaningless institution. With that, Kun killed the Chancellor. Read more...

[edit] Mosep Binneed

Mosep Binneed was a Nimbanel accountant who served Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Like most of his species, Binneed entered a bureaucratic profession and worked for the Hutts, eventually ending up on Tatooine during the early Galactic Civil War. Operating out of Mos Eisley spaceport on Tatooine in the Outer Rim, Binneed managed the finances of crime lord Jabba the Hutt to the best of his efforts, along with a number of other accountants, many of whom were also Nimbanese. He was present in Chalmun's Cantina in 0 BBY when Obi-Wan Kenobi attacked Ponda Baba with a lightsaber.

After the death of Binneed's superior, Lhojugg, Binneed took charge of Jabba's financial affairs and was based in the Hutt's town house. He had many informants and contacts in the organizations of Jabba's criminal rivals, and he used their information to disrupt the competitors' flow of funding. However, he knew that Jabba would have no hesitation to end his life if he failed in his tasks, and Binneed was constantly in fear of such a fate. He had many underlings, though some of them wished to work against Jabba, mismanaging his books and seeking to leave his employ. Read more...

[edit] Orrimaarko

"Now I'm not exactly a gambling man, but if someone were to tell me a disorganized species with industrial level technology was going up against an Imperial base, I'd say the smart money would be on the Imps. That is, I would have said that until I saw those Dressellians fight with my own eyes. Now I'm not so sure."
―Pyrron Nox describes the exploits of Orrimaarko and his comrades[src]

Orrimaarko, known to many as simply Prune Face, was a Dressellian resistance fighter and a key figure in the liberation of his homeworld, Dressel. He was xenophobic, particularly toward Humans, and when the Empire subjugated Dressel around 10 BBY, he and his fellows took up arms and fought back, becoming masters of guerrilla tactics. Aided by their allies, the more technologically sophisticated Bothans, who provided them with advanced weaponry and mercenary training, a Dressellian rebellion was formed with Orrimaarko at its helm, effectively fending off the Empire. They became embroiled in a war lasting over a decade, which mostly occurred at small engagements in the planet's dense forests.

When the Bothans allied with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, an invitation to the Alliance was issued to Orrimaarko and his people, which they reluctantly accepted. Orrimaarko became the first Dressellian to take command of an Alliance Special Forces team; however, he and his colleagues were often mocked and ridiculed behind their backs by the predominantly Human Alliance, which he viewed with much concern. In 4 ABY, the Rebels conducted a strike against the Empire's second Death Star at Endor, with a strike team disabling the superweapon's shield on Endor's surface. Based on his experience, Orrimaarko felt that he should have been selected to lead the mission, but instead, Han Solo, a man whom Orrimaarko felt was far less qualified, was chosen and made a general. Orrimaarko went to Endor as part of Solo's team and played an invaluable role in the Alliance's victory at the pivotal Battle of Endor, but he was quick to berate Alliance officials for what he saw as Humanocentrism and favoritism. With their homeworld eventually purged of any Imperial presence, the Dressellians returned to their reclusive, xenophobic ways despite becoming a member state of the New Republic. Read more...

[edit] Darth Millennial

"It was known by the ancients that a Dark Lord with three eyes has a secret strength possessed by none other."
―Trioculus[src]

Darth Millennial was a three-eyed mutant Sith Lord and Shadow Hand, heir to the lineage of Darth Bane, who lived almost a thousand years before the Battle of Yavin. Apprenticed to Darth Cognus, Millennial was powerful in the Force and had the ability to see the future. However, he and his Master disagreed on many aspects about the Sith, and Millennial became disillusioned with the Rule of Two, which he felt was far too restrictive, and saw far more sense in Lord Kaan's Rule by the Strong.

Eventually, he left his enraged Master and founded the Dark Force religion—which would later become the Prophets of the Dark Side—on the planet Dromund Kaas. Proclaiming himself as a prophet chosen by the will of the Force, he attracted many Force-users from across the galaxy to his religion before passing away. Read more...

[edit] Crev Bombaasa

"A vicious yet cultured Corellian crime lord."
Talon Karrde[src]

Crev Bombaasa was a crime lord who founded a powerful cartel in the Kathol sector and later served the Hutt Borga Besadii Diori during the Yuuzhan Vong War. A well-educated man of refined manner and much literary knowledge, he was considered to have a distinctly beetle-like appearance, due to his stick-like limbs and pudgy body. Starting out as a small-time criminal working on Corellia early in the Galactic Civil War, he eventually moved to Pembric II in the Kathol sector, where law enforcement was almost non-existent. He and numerous fellow criminals merged their organizations and formed the Bombaasa Cartel, as a means of protection from large organizations, such as that of the Hutts. With Bombaasa at its head, the cartel became very influential in the Pembric system, and after Imperial Moff Kentor Sarne pulled out of the area in 8 ABY, Bombaasa seized control of Pembric II, making it a haven for smugglers, pirates, swoop gangs, and myriad other criminals. He had dealings with the New Republic envoy FarStar soon thereafter, but was able to repel any attempts by the Republic at diminishing his power.

He remained on Pembric II for many more years, increasing in power and stature until his territory covered many systems. He eventually grew bored of the Kathol sector, and left to become an underling of Borga, the most powerful Hutt of the time. Bombaasa operated from a giant, nine hundred meter-long freighter named Starmaster, and was in charge of Hutt operations and spice smuggling in the Tynnani system and the Bothan worlds. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, he helped Borga feed information to the New Republic about impending targets of the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong invaders, but after the Hutts' demise he became a member of Talon Karrde's reformed Smugglers' Alliance. Bombaasa contributed to the Galactic Alliance victory over the Yuuzhan Vong at the Battle of Coruscant in 29 ABY, and along with Karrde, smuggler Booster Terrik, and Lando Calrissian, he pledged to change his ways and make an honest living. [edit] Ronderu lij Kummar

Ronderu lij Kummar was a Kaleesh female and a close confidant of Qymaen jai Sheelal, the warrior who would become known as General Grievous. Her origins were largely unknown; believed to hail from the Grendaju ice mass at the extreme south of the planet Kalee, she claimed not to belong to any one Kaleesh tribe, but to be a descendant of the gods. Rumors abounded regarding her true background, and some believed she never existed. A talented swordmaster and hunter, she worked as a wandering mercenary, hiring her skills to different tribal chieftains on Kalee.

Kummar later met the Kaleesh warrior Sheelal while hunting in the Kunbal jungle, and the two became steadfast companions. Outsiders did not know the full nature of their relationship, with some speculating that they were lovers, or that Kummar was Sheelal's long lost half-sister. Kummar joined Sheelal in his crusade against the alien Yam'rii who had attempted to colonize their homeworld, fighting by his side in campaigns too numerous to count. The two were considered invincible when fighting together and had a reputation of twin demigods among their people, but when separated, they were considerably less deadly in combat. This led to Kummar's downfall; separated from Sheelal while fighting Yam'rii on the beaches of the Jenuwaa Sea, she was killed, and her body was dragged out to sea. A devastated Sheelal failed to retrieve her body, subsequently going on a pilgrimage to Abesmi and beginning a path of bloodshed and despair that would last his life. He took the name Grievous to signify his grieving existence, ultimately becoming a vicious warlord and later the Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies. Read more...

[edit] Buran Borsil

"Though Buran is not an official part of the Eclipse Team, he has an honorary position and often accompanies his companions and their partners on dangerous missions throughout the galaxy."
―Sisquoc[src]

Buran Borsil was a Nord scout and SpecForce agent serving the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. He attended Barosa Warren's Galactic Outdoor Survival School during the early years of the Empire, learning how to thrive in various harsh atmospheres as part of the highly successful Twilight Class. His area of expertise was arctic survival, and along with his fellow classmates he completed GOSS's graduation expedition in record time in 12 BBY.

Borsil and many of his former classmates joined the Rebel Alliance shortly before the Battle of Yavin, despite the wishes of their master instructor at GOSS, Barosa Warren. A rift occurred between Warren and Twilight Class's de facto leader, Sisquoc; Borsil took Sisquoc's side along with most of his peers, incurring Warren's wrath. As of 2 ABY, Borsil was assigned to a SpecForce detachment deployed with Alliance High Command, though he also held an honorary position on Eclipse Team, an infamous Rebel group founded by Sisquoc and several other former members of Twilight Class. Borsil also occasionally acted as an instructor to Rebels stationed at outposts on frigid worlds. Read more...

Violent head: "They'll have to take my head first!"
Plo Koon: "If you insist."
—The two sides to Xamus/Sumax[src]

Xamus/Sumax was a two-headed, four-armed sentient who was imprisoned on M'Bardi during the Clone Wars. He was possessed of two distinct personalities, one for each of his heads: one head was a peaceful, gentle being, and the other violent and angry. Though they were not unaccustomed to working together, the heads—each of whom controlled one pair of their body's arms—had vastly different attitudes and views on life. Eventually, Xamus/Sumax ended up in M'Bardi prison, on a water planet in the Outer Rim.

During the Clone Wars, the Separatist commander Durge started a mass brawl and riot in the prison, which caused damage to the building and allowed water to enter it. Xamus/Sumax was involved in the rioting, though he soon came up against a pair of Jedi Masters, Kit Fisto and Plo Koon, dispatched to M'Bardi to put a stop to the riot. After being incapacitated by Fisto, both of the heads worked together to stop Durge from killing the Jedi, in the interest of their own preservation. Fisto and Koon allowed Xamus/Sumax to follow them onto the higher level of the prison, and after another clash with Durge, Fisto allowed him to tag along with the Jedi and watch their back, for which Xamus/Sumax would be rewarded with freedom. [edit] IG-72

"Kill. Kill. Kill."
―IG-72[src]

IG-72 was an early IG-series prototype created as part of Project Phlutdroid. Designed by Phlut Design Systems during the Clone Wars, he went unused until Phlut's assets were taken over by Holowan Laboratories, who implemented their designs early in the reign of the Galactic Empire. Like four near-identical IG-88 droids, IG-72 was intended to serve the Empire as an assassin droid and was due to be activated with the other droids on the planet Halowan. However, during a routine test, the first IG-88 downloaded a sentience program and came to life, killing all of the Holowan technicians. He activated each of the other models in turn, uploading his own programming into their droid brains, but IG-72 declined the offer, preferring to stay independent. The five droids eradicated all Holowan personnel at the laboratory together, before IG-72 parted ways with the others. Unlike them, he served the Empire as he was intended to for a time, without flaw.

However, when the order came from the Empire for IG-72 to be mind-wiped and shut down, he refused to return to their custody, instead striking out independently as a bounty hunter. He had much success, gaining notoriety for the IG-series and working in conjunction with Dace Bonearm, a famed mercenary. After many attempts by others to destroy him, IG-72 went into hiding for a time to conserve his power. He returned to the fore in 0 BBY during the hunt for the Imperial fugitive Adar Tallon. IG-72 ambushed Tallon and his Rebel companions in Mos Eisley, Tatooine, self-destructing in an attempt to kill his target, but he was unsuccessful. Read more...

[edit] Sev'rance Tann

"So we meet again, Jedi Master. It seems there isn't a Padawan you possess that I cannot take away from you."
―Sev'rance Tann to Echuu Shen-Jon(audio)Listen (file info)[src]

Sev'rance Tann was a Chiss female who left Chiss Space to become a Dark Acolyte and general in the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars. Hailing from Csilla in the Unknown Regions, she became one of few Chiss to leave her people during her time, along with her lover Vandalor, both becoming agents of Count Dooku and the Confederacy of Independent Systems shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY. Dooku taught Tann the use of the dark side of the Force, and she became one of his most trusted underlings. When the war broke out, Tann fought at Geonosis and later commandeered the Kaer Orbital Platform for Separatist use. When Dooku learned of the new Republic technology known as the Decimator, Tann was ordered to locate the weapons and steal them for the CIS to use.

After winning battles on Tatooine, Eredenn, and Alaris Prime, Tann stole the Decimators from the Republic and prepared them for Separatist use. She then launched an ambitious attack on Sarapin, on Dooku's orders, capturing one of the most heavily fortified planets in the galaxy and leaving many Core Worlds in darkness as a result, having destroyed the planet's geothermal generators. Tann was then sent to oversee Decimator construction on Krant, but was pursued by Jedi Master Echuu Shen-Jon, whose Padawan Tann had killed at Geonosis. After Shen-Jon destroyed the Decimator-producing foundries, Tann kidnapped his new Padawan, Naat Reath, and fled. Later, in a final confrontation in a CIS stronghold in the heart of the Krantian forest, Shen-Jon killed Tann. Although Tann had been a successful commander, she had lasted just a month in the Clone Wars. Read more...

[edit] Houk-Weequay Conflicts

"It was terrible, there was so much blood and damage. Bodies were everywhere."
―Rievale Creterk, describing a clash of Houk and Weequay[src]

The Houk-Weequay conflicts referred to a series of wars and skirmishes between the two species living on Sriluur, the colonist Houk and the native Weequay, that spanned many years, with the last and most bloody civil war occurring for a decade before the Battle of Yavin.

The Weequay evolved on Sriluur, but the Houk colonists only arrived there in 282 BBY, establishing the Houk Territories close to the Weequay city of Dnalvec. Although the Houk were not the first colonists on Sriluur, they became hated cultural enemies of the Weequay. Tensions ran high and several times all-out war erupted; hostilities between both groups gained prominence after a Weequay-Houk brawl on Coruscant was documented on the HoloNet.

In approximately 10 BBY, relations between the two species again broke out into civil war. During the conflict, the Houk Territories were constantly under martial law while Houk forces advanced on Weequay territories to Sriluur's south. Weequay armies such as the Dnalvec Militia fought them off, with many casualties, and ultimately protected their territories. Peace was arranged by the Houk, though hostilities never fully ceased; shortly after the decade-long war ended just prior to the Battle of Yavin, the Galactic Empire arrived on Sriluur and subjugated the world, stopping any further conflicts.

[edit] Lone battle droid

"You can't have much energy left—why waste it? It's pointless. It's suicide."
"I'd rather have two days of freedom than go back to what I was."
―The grapple droid, and the runaway B1[src]

During the Clone Wars, a lone battle droid deserted the Separatist Droid Army after being disconnected from the droid collective. A B1 battle droid forged by the Trade Federation, the droid had no independent thought, as its thinking was done by a Central Control Computer. It fought in numerous battles during the Clone Wars, but was continually damaged or destroyed, only to be rebuilt with new parts.

The droid was eventually posted to the planet Antamont along with a sizable Separatist force, as part of an attack on a Republic stronghold on the world. As the droid forces marched through a narrow mountain walkway, the B1 activated a Republic land mine. The explosion caused great damage, and the droid's connection to the central mainframe was severed. With newfound freedom and independent thought, the B1 put its own survival by any means as its number one objective and fled the battle. It was followed by a grapple droid, who attempted to persuade the runaway B1 to return to duty; when it refused, the grapple droid attacked, and the two ended up falling of the edge of a cliff. The grapple droid eventually shut down, but the B1 remained relatively undamaged. It fled further away from the battle for a time, until the its battery eventually expired. Several years later, the lone battle droid was found by two local farmers, who decided to recharge the droid for use on their ranch. Read more...

[edit] Vul Isen

"I am a scientist. It is my nature to question. Unthinking obedience is fine for a warrior, but a scientist must question—or be worth nothing."
―Vul Isen[src]

Vul Isen was a Force-sensitive Givin male who served the One Sith as a scientist. Born into the One Sith on Korriban, his talents did not lie in combat, but in science, so he was never given the coveted "Darth" title. Isen worked extensively with bioweapons, and was experienced in committing genocide and ruining planets with such toxins. He found no sorrow or regret in these actions, thinking of it as a sort of game.

In 137 ABY, after Darth Krayt ordered the genocide of the Mon Calamari species, Isen was posted to the planet Dac, to work alongside overseer Darth Azard in speeding up the extermination of the Mon Calamari. Tension ran high between Isen and Azard, who felt that the Givin was a lesser Sith for not having a Darth name and disliked his inquisitive nature. Because Krayt wanted only the Mon Calamari and not any of the world's other inhabitants targeted, Isen was unable to use his experimental viral organisms which would reduce the planet to a desolate swamp world. Instead, he turned to ancient Sith lore and alchemically engineered a Sea Leviathan, the first of its kind adapted for underwater use. Isen and Azard hoped the beast would help them eliminate the remaining pockets of Mon Calamari as quickly as possible. The Leviathan led Isen and Azard to the base of the Mon Calamari Rangers, but the Sith's Aquatic Terrain Armored Transport was rammed by one of the Mon Calamari, crippling the vessel. Isen survived uninjured, but Azard was trapped under shrapnel. Using Azard's lightsaber, the Givin scientist freed him, to Azard's surprise, and the two swam toward the surface. The Leviathan was meanwhile defeated by Imperial Knight Treis Sinde and hordes of devilsquid. Read more...

[edit] Nym

"Five thousand credits up front, and you've got your hero."
―Nym[src]

Nym was a Feeorin pirate who led the Lok Revenants. Known for his theft and subsequent use of a prototype Scurrg H-6 bomber, the Havoc, Nym's depredations eventually earned him the ire of the Trade Federation, who hired mercenary Vana Sage to capture and imprison him. However, Nym escaped from her imprisonment, only to find that Sage, who had been double-crossed by the Trade Federation herself, wished to ally with him to inflict further damage on the Trade Federation. Furthermore, the starfighter pilot Rhys Dallows, whose homeworld had been invaded by the Trade Federation, and the Toydarian smuggler Reti joined with them as well. Together, the four launched a number of raids on Trade Federation property, culminating on attacks on the Trade Federation blockade of Naboo and the destruction of a Trade Federation droid production facility on Eos. Those actions earned Nym a pardon from the Republic, though he continued his life of piracy.

Shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Nym's forces came under attack by the Trade Federation once again, this time in the Karthakk system. With the aid of Reti, his wingman Jinkins, and Jedi Master Adi Gallia, Nym was able to destroy several illegal Trade Federation facilities, including a weapons plant producing a biological weapon known as trihexalon. During this time, he ran afoul of a Separatist-aligned mercenary named Cavik Toth, who was behind the trihexalon production. Undaunted, Nym continued to battle Toth's Sabaoth Squadron as well as the Trade Federation, to the point where he was able to seize back his base on Lok, which had been overrun by the Trade Federation years before. Once he did so, the Feeorin ran his operation from there, into the Galactic Civil War, in which he was seen as a Rebel sympathizer. Read more...

[edit] Kumac

Kumac was a Hutt crime lord who emerged as joint leader of the Desilijic clan in the aftermath of Jabba Desilijic Tiure's death. Kumac worked as one of Jabba's most trusted operatives before his death, and was known for her efficiency and loyalty. She also acted as a liaison between Jabba and various high-ranking Imperial criminals.

Jabba's death during the skirmish at Carkoon threw the Hutts, and the Desilijic clan in particular, into disarray, and prompted the beginning of months of infighting between the Hutts. Kumac acted quickly, working alongside former mercenary Brasck to seize much of Jabba's holdings in the Expansion Region and calling in favors from her Imperial contacts to establish herself as one of the most powerful Hutts of the time.

Kumac eventually teamed up with an old rival, Jelasi, who had also profited greatly from Jabba's demise, to become the new joint leader of the Desilijic clan. However, in 5 ABY, Jabba's father Zorba returned to Hutt Space after his time in prison on Kip, and Kumac and Jelasi were deposed when Zorba produced a will of Jabba's, entitling him to his son's holdings throughout the galaxy. [edit] Kren Blista-Vanee

"Anything to please your Eminence."
―Kren Blista-Vanee[src]

Kren Blista-Vanee was a prominent advisor to Emperor Palpatine and a member of the Imperial Inner Circle during the Galactic Civil War. Blista-Vanee was an important figure alongside the likes of Bregius Golthan and Alec Pradeux. A socialite and connoisseur of fine art, he lived in a sizable, lavishly decorated high-rise mansion on Imperial Center, where he often held parties for the planet's elite.

In 3 ABY, Blista-Vanee and several other advisors presided over the New Year Fete Week ceremonies in the Emperor's absence, with Palpatine busy in the Deep Core. Blista-Vanee was one of five advisors who accompanied the Emperor to the second Death Star in 4 ABY, while Palpatine oversaw the superweapon's construction. During the ensuing Battle of Endor, Palpatine was killed and the Death Star was destroyed by the Rebel Alliance. Read more...
