Battle of Ryloth (Clone Wars)Edit

(Co-project with Darth Trayus)

Battle of Ryloth
"The Twi'leks on that planet can't wait for long, Master. The longer the Techno Union keeps control of Ryloth, the more difficult it'll be to free them."
"I agree. We don't have much time."
―Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu[src]

The Battle of Ryloth took place in 22 BBY on the Twi'lek homeworld of Ryloth during the Clone Wars. Seeking to steal the treasures of fellow Separatist Council member Passel Argente while claiming another victory for the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Techno Union Foreman Wat Tambor invaded the planet and executed the subjugation the Twi'lek people. Tambor's forces were met with early resistance from Galactic Republic military units and Twi'lek resistance fighters led by Jedi General Ima-Gun Di and General Cham Syndulla, respectively. With the Confederacy's annihilation of the Republic fleet defending Ryloth, supply lines to the planet were severed, leaving the Twi'lek population without food or medical supplies and the Republic forces stranded without reinforcements. Although Di and his troops were all killed, the Twi'lek freedom fighters were saved by the timely arrival of Republic relief supplies from Toydaria. After being defeated by the Confederacy at Cazne, Syndulla led his compatriots into hiding.

Finalizing defenses for his newly captured world, Emir Tambor placed Captain Mar Tuuk in command of the Confederate blockade guarding the planet and T-series tactical droid TX-20 in charge of the proton cannons in the city of Nabat, while he made headquarters for himself in the conquered capital of Lessu. After receiving pleas for assistance from Ryloth's senator, Orn Free Taa, the Jedi High Council dispatched Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, to eliminate the Separatist blockade and make way for clone trooper forces from the Grand Army of the Republic to land on and liberate Ryloth. Despite heavy losses to their fleet, Skywalker and Tano were able to break the blockade, allowing Republic troop transports—commanded by High Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu—to safely enter the Ryloth system. Once Kenobi, Clone Commander CC-2224, and the Republic unit Ghost Company had destroyed Nabat's proton cannons, Windu was able to land with his transports.

En route to retake Lessu, Windu, Clone Commander CC-6454, and Lightning Squadron suffered losses in a battle with Separatist tanks, leading Windu to enlist the help of Syndulla and his freedom fighters. After Tambor began a firebombing campaign of the Twi'lek villages, Syndulla finally set aside his previous quarrels with Taa and joined forces with Windu and the Republic. Once Windu and ARF troopers Razor and Stak were able to activate Lessu's plasma bridge, the only access to the city, the combined forces of Lightning Squadron and freedom fighters entered the city and routed the Confederacy in what became known as the Battle of Lessu. Tambor's own tactical droid, TA-175, escaped with the Emir's shuttle and left him stranded, and Windu was able to capture Tambor.

Following the liberation of Lessu, Skywalker and Tano were left in command of the operations against the remaining Confederate holdouts on the planet. The two Jedi led the 501st Legion through the ruined city of Resdin, gradually clearing out the droid forces that were encamped there. During the conflict, Clone Captain CT-7567 and Clone Sergeant CS-2207 were captured by the bounty hunter Cad Bane, who was on the run after stealing the Gravitic Core, a part of Separatist scientist Kul Teska's newly developed superweapon. The clones were eventually rescued by Skywalker and Tano, but while trying to escape from Resdin, they and Bane were attacked by Teska himself, who managed to retrieve the Gravitic Core from them. Battle of AbregadoEdit

Battle of Abregado
"And we have had no further contact with General Plo Koon. The absence of distress beacons indicates that his fleet was…that his fleet was destroyed, like the others. We are about to prepare a rescue mission."
―Anakin Skywalker, to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and the Jedi High Council[src]

The Battle of Abregado was a space battle that took place in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars. Following the defeat of Jedi General Ares Nune's task force in the Phu system at the hands of the Confederate warship Malevolence, Jedi General Plo Koon of the Galactic Republic took several Venator-class Star Destroyers to find and destroy the ship. Koon tracked the Malevolence to the Abregado system, but the warship attacked his fleet with its ion cannons, and the Star Destroyers were left defenseless. Shortly before the cruisers fell to turbolaser fire, several clone troopers managed to flee in escape pods, and Koon escaped in a pod with Clone Commander CC-3636, nicknamed "Wolffe," Clone Sergeant Sinker, and trooper Boost.

Dooku dispatched several boarding craft with rocket battle droids to eliminate the survivors, as he did not want the survivors to inform the Republic of the Malevolence. Only Koon and the three clones in his pod were able to defeat the battle droids who came in search of survivors. Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, soon arrived in the system aboard Skywalker's personal ship, the Twilight, and they rescued Koon and the clones. The Twilight encountered the Malevolence, but the Jedi and clones successfully evaded a wave from the warship's ion cannons by jumping to hyperspace. Their escape brought the knowledge of the nature of the weapon to the Republic. (Read more…)

Slick (clone trooper)Edit

Slick
"It's the Jedi who keep my brothers enslaved. We do your bidding. We serve at your whim. I just wanted something more."
―Slick berates the Jedi[src]

"Slick" was the nickname of a veteran clone trooper sergeant in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Named for his resourcefulness and discreetness, he began to develop a hatred for his Jedi commanding officers, believing that he and his fellow clone brothers were acting as the Jedi's puppets. In 22 BBY, Slick betrayed the Galactic Republic and began to pass inside information to the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After the Confederacy invaded the planet Christophsis, Slick accompanied a faction of Republic forces under the command of Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to liberate the planet from the Confederate oppression.

On Christophsis, Slick led his platoon on a reconnaissance of a strategical location for an ambush on the Confederate battle droids, and after returning to the Republic base, Slick informed Ventress and the Confederate General Whorm Loathsom of the Republic's plan. The Confederacy was able to ambush the Republic forces, and Kenobi and Skywalker went to search for information in Confederacy-held territory while Clone Captain CT-7567 and Clone Commander CC-2224—nicknamed "Rex" and "Cody," respectively—stayed to find the possible Republic traitor. In the clones' following interrogation of Slick's men, Slick was revealed to be the Confederate spy, and after the traitor severely damaged the Republic base's weapons depot, Rex and Cody engaged him in a brawl. Slick was apprehended, and when Skywalker and Kenobi returned, the traitorous clone was taken to lock-up. (Read more…)

Battle of ChristophsisEdit

Battle of Christophsis
"I told you this victory was too easy. We never should have sent the ship back for supplies."
"It wasn't my idea to send the ship back."
"All right, men, second wave incoming."
"Rex, you and your men follow me."
"Cody, battle positions!"
―Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker argue while preparing for battle[src]

The Battle of Christophsis took place at the planet Christophsis in 22 BBY, seven weeks into the Clone Wars. Seeking to gain control of the strategic world's resources, the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Army, led by General Whorm Loathsom, invaded and seized Christophsis. Responding to a plea for help from the world's inhabitants, the Galactic Republic and the Jedi High Council dispatched Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and Admiral Wullf Yularen with a clone trooper contingent from the Grand Army of the Republic to liberate Christophsis. After penetrating Confederate Admiral Trench's massive naval blockade of the planet and delivering supplies to Senator Bail Prestor Organa's refugee camp on the surface via an experimental stealth ship, the Republic forces attempted to ambush the Confederate battle droid army from two towers in one of the plazas of the capital city, Crystal City. Acting on information from one of its spies, Clone Sergeant Slick, the Separatists foiled the Republic's attack. Despite the turn of events, the Jedi and clones managed to escape and retreated back to their base.

Alerted to the possibility of a spy amongst their men, Skywalker and Kenobi went to search for more information behind enemy lines while Clone Commander CC-2224 and Clone Captain CT-7567—nicknamed "Cody" and "Rex," respectively—stayed at the base to root out the agent. Upon arriving at the Confederacy base, Skywalker and Kenobi confronted the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress and discovered the presence of an invasion force in far greater strength than they had originally believed. Back at the Republic base, Slick was revealed to be the spy and sabotaged the Republic's weapons depot, destroying most of the Republic's supplies, before being apprehended by Rex and Cody. Raising the stakes with its full strength, the main body of Confederate troops launched an assault on the Republic forces. After several days, the Separatists were forced to retreat. When Loathsom mounted a second assault, his forces' advance was halted by the Republic's heavy cannons, and he and his droids pulled back to their base to set up a deflector shield to counter the Republic's artillery.

Yularen and the Republic fleet were driven away from Christophsis by the renewed Separatist blockade of the planet, but Skywalker's newly assigned Jedi Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, was able to land on the world. Loathsom and the Confederacy mounted yet another assault, this time advancing behind their shield, which effectively negated the clone artillery. While Kenobi, Rex, and 501st Legion troops defended the heavy cannons, Skywalker and Tano proceeded to sabotage the Confederacy's shield generator. After Kenobi pretended to surrender to Loathsom to gain time for his comrades to complete their mission, Skywalker and Tano were able to eliminate the shield. Yularen returned to the Christoph system with Jedi Grand Master Yoda and a fortified fleet and broke through the Separatist blockade, driving the enemy armada away from Christophsis. In addition, the Republic's renewed artillery usage proved instrumental in annihilating the Separatists in Crystal City. Kenobi captured Loathsom, and the Republic emerged victorious and landed further reinforcements to secure the victory. (Read more…)

Battle of Bothawui (Clone Wars)Edit

Battle of Bothawui TCW
"Do the Bothans know what Grievous plans? They must. They're Bothans. But why haven't they told us, why haven't they—"
"They don't know. There's a good chance I'm the only one who does. Me and my source. And now you. It was an accident she found out. And she only risked telling me to pay back a life debt. Obi-Wan… You Jedi can't let Grievous get his metal hands on Bothawui."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi learns of General Grievous's impending invasion of Bothawui from Dexter Jettster[src]

The Battle of Bothawui was a space battle that took place in 22 BBY, during the Clone Wars. After learning that the Confederate General Grievous was planning to invade the planet Bothawui, the Jedi High Council dispatched Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and a fleet of three newly constructed Venator-class Star Destroyers to blockade the Both system in preparation of Grievous's arrival. Accompanied by his Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, as well as a unit of clone troopers, Skywalker engaged Grievous several times before arriving over the gas giant Bothawui Prime.

Clone Captain CT-7567, nicknamed "Rex," took multiple AT-TE walkers to the planet's asteroid belt, intending to attack Grievous's frigates from the rear once they passed by. The Confederate general arrived in the system, and Skywalker led the starfighter unit Gold Squadron in his Delta-7B fighter. After the Confederate fleet went through the asteroid belt and passed by the walkers, the AT-TEs opened fire, crippling the frigates. Grievous attempted to escape in his personal fighter; and, as Skywalker and his astromech droid R2-D2 gave pursuit, the Jedi's fighter was damaged by flying debris. Rex was able to save Skywalker, but R2-D2 was salvaged by the Trandoshan scavenger Gha Nachkt. (Read more…)

Battle of TethEdit

Attecliff
"Kidnapped, Jabba the Hutt's son has been. Negotiate the treaty with Jabba, Obi-Wan will. Find the renegades who hold Jabba's son, your mission will be, Skywalker."
―Master Yoda informs Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka Tano of their new mission[src]

The Battle of Teth took place in 22 BBY on the planet Teth during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Seeking to gain safe passage through Hutt Space, Count Dooku and the Confederacy kidnapped Rotta, son of the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, intending to frame the Jedi Order for the crime. Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his recently apprenticed Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, were assigned to retrieve Rotta in order to win the crime lord's favor for safe passage through Hutt Space. Skywalker and Tano ventured to the B'omarr Order Monastery on Teth—where the Huttlet had been located by Republic scouts—with clone troopers of Torrent Company, while Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi negotiated with Jabba on the crime lord's home planet of Tatooine.

Unable to land at the Teth monastery because of the presence of battle droids guarding it, Skywalker's and Tano's forces were deployed in the jungle below and commenced a vertical assault up the cliff holding the monastery using two AT-TE walkers. After Skywalker and Tano had defeated the droids and retrieved the Huttlet, Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress led several more Confederate units on a renewed assault of the monastery, and the Republic forces were forced to barricade themselves inside the stronghold. The two Jedi went to find a secondary exit to escape the monastery, hoping to find medical support for the Huttlet, while Clone Captain CT-7567, nicknamed "Rex," stayed to command Torrent Company.

Ventress and her forces managed to enter the monastery, and all but six clone troopers were killed, the last six—including Rex—being taken captive. With the help of the astromech droid R2-D2, Skywalker and Tano located a rear exit in the monastery and confronted Ventress herself before escaping Teth in an old freighter. However, the Jedi were forced to continue directly to Tatooine in the ship, as the main hangar of the Venator-class Star Destroyer Spirit of the Republic was severely damaged by Confederate Vulture droids, preventing them from boarding. Meanwhile, Kenobi arrived on Teth with reinforcements, in the form of the 212th Attack Battalion and several LAAT/i gunships. Kenobi also dueled with Ventress, and the Dark Acolyte escaped after she discovered that Skywalker had left the system for Tatooine. With the reinforcements, the Republic forces were able to defeat the Confederacy. (Read more…)

Mission to RugosaEdit

Mission to Rugosa3
"Retreat, you must. On the moon below is my mission. There, I must go."
―Yoda, to Captain Zak[src]

The mission to Rugosa was an operation that took place in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars. The Galactic Republic and the Jedi High Council sought to build a base in the Outer Rim Territories for further combat against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and Grand Master Yoda was dispatched with a convoy of clone troopers to the coral moon of Rugosa to engage in diplomatic negotiations with Katuunko, the king of Toydaria. However, the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress arrived first to negotiate with Katuunko on behalf of the Confederacy and its Head of State, Count Dooku. The Republic convoy was ambushed by several Confederate frigates, but Yoda was able to land on the moon in an escape pod with several clones.

Ventress posed a challenge for the Jedi: she would send her best battle droid forces to capture him, and if he defeated the droids, Toydaria would be given reason to ally with the Republic. Should Yoda fail, Toydaria would join the Confederacy. Yoda accepted the terms, and he and the clone shock troopers Lieutenant CC-4477, nicknamed "Thire," Jek, and Rys separately fought the droids. The three clones defeated a squad of B1 battle droids, but Yoda arrived to rescue the clones from a group of oncoming B2 super battle droids. After escaping, the four took refuge in a cave, where the Jedi Master imparted his wisdom upon the clones to inspire their efforts.

Yoda proceeded to defeat several Confederate droid squads and three Armored Assault Tanks single-handedly, and Ventress broke the terms of the competition, dispatching droideka reinforcements to eliminate the Jedi. Thire launched a rocket and caused an avalanche, however, crushing the droids. With the Confederacy's attempt at a treaty foiled, Dooku ordered his apprentice through a hololink to assassinate Katuunko. Yoda and the clones arrived in time to stop the assassination, and Ventress was forced to activate pre-planted explosives to cause a rockfall and escape. Yoda was able to stop the rubble, and Katuunko promised Toydaria's service to the Republic, before departing aboard an LAAT/i gunship with the Republic diplomatic forces. (Read more…)

Battle of the Kaliida NebulaEdit

Battle of Kaliida
"While our capital ships are vulnerable to the enemy's attack, I believe a squad of bombers can outmaneuver their ion weapon. Our target will be the bridge…and General Grievous."
―Anakin Skywalker, to Shadow Squadron[src]

The Battle of the Kaliida Nebula took place near the Kaliida Nebula in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars. Shortly after the Galactic Republic's discovery of the Confederate warship Malevolence, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker developed a plan to attack the warship and its commander, General Grievous. Confederate Head of State Count Dooku ordered Grievous to target the Republic's secret Outer Rim medical center, and the Malevolence's eradication of a Republic medical convoy in the Ryndellia system identified the warship's quarry to the Republic. Skywalker planned to intercept the ship, accompanied by his Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, as well as Jedi General Plo Koon.

Skywalker arrived at the medical station via a shortcut through the nebula with the starfighter unit Shadow Squadron, and engaged Vulture droids launched from the Malevolence. Suffering losses from the warship's ion cannons, Skywalker led his squadron to attack the vessel's starboard cannon. When the Malevolence attempted to use the damaged weapon on the medical center, the cannon exploded, causing further damage to the ship. Admiral Wullf Yularen and High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi arrived with several Venator-class Star Destroyers and engaged the fleeing Malevolence, which was unable to retreat to hyperspace because of damage to its hyperdrive.

Dooku's Sith Master, Darth Sidious, used his alter ego as Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to trick Senator Padmé Amidala into traveling to the nebula, where Grievous could use her as a hostage and escape. Amidala arrived in the system and was pulled aboard the Malevolence. Skywalker and Kenobi arrived on the warship via Skywalker's personal ship, the Twilight, and rescued Amidala. Kenobi attempted to cause further damage to the warship's hyperdrive, but was confronted by Grievous and forced to engage the cyborg general in lightsaber combat before escaping. Skywalker and Amidala sabotaged the ship's navigation computer, and the group returned to the Republic fleet. When the Malevolence attempted to jump to hyperspace, it crashed into a nearby moon, and Grievous retreated. (Read more…)

Senate hostage crisisEdit

Hostage Crisis
"Morning, Senators. You should all consider yourselves to be in my power. As long as everybody behaves, this will be quick and painless. Do nothing, and it will all be over soon."
―Cad Bane, to the senators[src]

The Senate hostage crisis occurred around 22 BBY during the Clone Wars when the Hutt Grand Council hired the bounty hunter Cad Bane to organize a raid on the Republic Executive Building aimed at capturing members of the Galactic Senate. Bane sought to force Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to issue a pardon for the Hutt crime lord Ziro Desilijic Tiure, who had previously been arrested and imprisoned in the Republic Judiciary Central Detention Center for his role in the Confederacy of Independent Systems' kidnapping of his great-nephew, Rotta. Bane formed a team of bounty hunters that included the Jedi hunter Aurra Sing, the Weequay Shahan Alama, and the Patrolian technician Robonino, along with several Confederate droids. After testing his team by pitting them against fellow bounty hunter Davtokk, Bane deemed his accomplices ready for their mission.

Infiltrating the Executive Building and disposing of multiple Senate Commando guards along the way, the team took a small group of senators hostage. Bane trapped Palpatine and Senator Orn Free Taa in the Chancellor's office by having Robonino shut down the building's power. Bane then issued an ultimatum to the Supreme Chancellor: Ziro was to be released, or the senators would be executed. Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker was still in the building, though unarmed, and was knocked out and captured by the hunters. To secure the Hutt's release in exchange for the senators' lives, Bane ordered Taa to take a pardon disc to the Detention Center to release Ziro.

Taa reluctantly complied and was escorted to the prison by the sentinel droid HELIOS-3D. As final leverage against Palpatine, the bounty hunters set up a system of lasers around the senators that would trigger explosives with the slightest touch before leaving the building. Clone troopers of the Coruscant Guard led by Clone Commander CC-1010 arrived to apprehend Bane's team on the landing platform, but the still-trapped senators allowed the bounty hunters to escape with Ziro. Although Bane remotely activated the explosives as payback for the indignities the Hutt had suffered in prison, a revived Skywalker was able to cut a hole around the senators, and all of them dropped into the room below seconds before the explosives went off. Whorm LoathsomEdit

WhormLoathsomHS
"Unless you call off your troops right now, I will have no choice but to destroy you!"
―Whorm Loathsom, to Obi-Wan Kenobi[src]

Whorm Loathsom was a Kerkoiden male who hailed from the planet Kerkoidia and served both in his homeworld's planetary forces and as the general of the Retail Caucus's military forces in the Confederacy of Independent Systems. An accomplished commander, his numerous victories during the Clone Wars led him to infamy throughout the Inner Core. In 22 BBY, Loathsom captured the planet Christophsis, and the Galactic Republic dispatched Jedi-led clone trooper forces to liberate the planet. After being forced to retreat, Loathsom launched a counterattack, advancing his battle droid troops behind a deflector shield that rendered the Republic's artillery useless.

High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi pretended to surrender to the Kerkoiden in order to gain time for Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, to eliminate the shield generator. Loathsom eventually lost patience with discussing Kenobi's terms of surrender and threatened to kill the Jedi. After Skywalker and Tano destroyed the generator, however, Loathsom himself was captured. With his shameful defeat and capture on Christophsis, Loathsom was taken to Coruscant, where he was tried by the Republic and found guilty of treason, as his service in his Republic-aligned homeworld's planetary forces made him a member of the Republic Military. Loathsom was eventually transferred from imprisonment on Akrit'tar to house arrest at a castle on Kerkoidia, from which, weeks later, he escaped captivity with the assistance of Separatist agents and returned to serve the Confederacy. Mission to Skytop StationEdit

MissionToSkytopStation-TCWS01E07
Skywalker: "We believe my droid, Artoo, is still onboard. He's the one that led us here."
Kenobi: "Hmm…this complicates things. You must sneak aboard that station and destroy it, before they crack Artoo's memory banks. I know you're fond of that droid, but he's fallen into enemy hands."
Skywalker: "I could…rescue Artoo."
Kenobi: "No. This is not a rescue mission."
―Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, on R2-D2, shortly after Skywalker discovers Skytop Station[src]

The mission to Skytop Station, also known as the raid on Skytop Station, took place in 22 BBY, during the Clone Wars. After Jedi General Anakin Skywalker's astromech droid, R2-D2, was lost during the Galactic Republic's defense of the planet Bothawui, the Trandoshan scavenger Gha Nachkt salvaged the droid from the planet's asteroid belt and promised him to the Confederate General Grievous in exchange for credits. Skywalker and his Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, were issued R3-S6 as a replacement droid but were unaware that he was a spy working for Grievous.

High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi ordered Skywalker to find and destroy Skytop Station, a Confederate listening post. After discovering the station over the moon Ruusan 2 in his personal ship, the Twilight, Skywalker learned that R2-D2 was aboard the station. Skywalker decided to rescue the droid, while Tano planted explosives around the station with a squad of clone troopers. Tano and the clones first engaged battle droids in a crossfire outside the reactor room. When Grievous arrived and attacked the group, Tano distracted the cyborg general while the remaining clones—Captain CT-7567, nicknamed Rex, as well as trooper Denal—finished the mission.

Skywalker was able to retrieve his droid from Confederate IG-100 MagnaGuards and arrived in the south landing bay to rendezvous with the Twilight. After Rex and Denal had arrived, however, R3-S6 trapped the group in the hangar and activated several Vulture droids. B2 super battle droids entered the room and engaged Skywalker and the clones. Skywalker ordered Rex to activate the explosives; and, with its anti-gravity repulsorlifts damaged, the station began to be pulled into the moon. Tano briefly confronted Grievous and arrived in the landing bay, and R2-D2 was able to open the hangar door from an external terminal; the droid also eliminated the spy droid, R3-S6. Grievous escaped in his personal fighter, and Skywalker retrieved R2-D2 in his Jedi interceptor, escaping the station with his team. (Read more…)

Mission to RodiaEdit

Mission to Rodia
"Can you ever forgive me, Padmé?"
"It is the Republic that should be asking your forgiveness, my old friend. Far too often we forget that our most important allies are not always the most powerful."
―Onaconda Farr and Padmé Amidala[src]

Senator Padmé Amidala took a diplomatic mission to Rodia in 22 BBY, during the Clone Wars. As the planet's supplies had been recently attacked by pirates, Amidala sought to ensure that Rodia remained allied with the Galactic Republic. Yet, Onaconda Farr, Rodia's representative in the Galactic Senate, had allied himself with Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Upon her arrival in the Senatorial Palace on Rodia, Amidala was taken captive, to be given to Gunray as part of the arrangement. After Amidala's protocol droid, C-3PO, and Representative Jar Jar Binks were attacked by battle droids in the palace hangar, Binks accidentally crushed Amidala's yacht with a magnetic hoist. Binks and C-3PO resolved to rescue Amidala from the palace's detention tower; however, when Binks found a Jedi robe in the yacht and put it on, the Confederate forces mistook him for a Jedi.

After Gunray arrived to collect Amidala, the Viceroy revealed that he intended to execute her, and Farr began to mistrust the Viceroy. Amidala broke out of her cell, while Binks, unaware of her escape, attempted to rescue her. C-3PO went to contact any Republic clone troopers within range for support, and Amidala engaged the Confederate droids. Binks slipped underwater, but a homing torpedo aimed at the Gungan exploded, and he was presumed dead. After contacting a nearby Republic convoy, C-3PO was arrested. As Confederate droidekas prepared to execute Amidala and C-3PO, however, Binks reappeared, and a Kwazel Maw that had befriended and saved the Gungan attacked the droids. Gunray fled, but he was apprehended by Amidala and Farr and taken into custody. Farr and Rodia remained allied to the Republic, and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine dispatched relief supplies to the planet. (Read more…)

Rescue on the TranquilityEdit

Asajj vs Luminara
"Gunray's capture could be a serious threat to us, my friend. The viceroy will not last long under Jedi interrogation."
"I have already put a plan into action, my Lord. My best agent, Asajj Ventress, will infiltrate the Jedi ship, and either free Gunray, or silence him."
―Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus[src]

The Confederacy of Independent Systems launched a mission in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars to free Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray, who had been captured on Rodia by the Galactic Republic. Gunray was being taken in the Star Destroyer Tranquility to Coruscant for trial by Jedi General Luminara Unduli, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, Clone Commander CC-1004, nicknamed "Gree," and Senate Commando Captain Faro Argyus. However, the latter was a long-time ally of Count Dooku, and had been paid to participate in freeing the Viceroy. As the Jedi began interrogating Gunray aboard the Tranquility, Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress took a boarding party of Vulture droids and several boarding craft to the Republic warship.

Once battle droids had boarded the Star Destroyer and attacked Unduli and clone troopers of Green Company, Ventress planted explosives in the vessel's engine room before confronting Tano outside of Gunray's cell. After Unduli arrived with Commander Gree on the detention level, Ventress activated her explosives, crippling the entire ship. Ventress escaped, and while Unduli instructed Tano to stay and guard Gunray, the Jedi Master pursued the Dark Acolyte to the engine room. Tano disobeyed Unduli's orders and proceeded to assist Unduli in her duel against Ventress, however. Meanwhile, Argyus betrayed the Republic and freed Gunray. The Captain engaged Gree in close combat, but Gunray managed to sneak up behind the Clone Commander and knocked him out with a blaster. Argyus and Gunray then stole a Republic frigate and escaped from the Tranquility, while Ventress joined them, jettisoning from the Star Destroyer in an escape pod to the fleeing vessel. (Read more…)

Cham SyndullaEdit

ChamSyndullaHS-SWE
"You sing a song of a legend. I'm just a soldier, Gobi."
―Cham Syndulla[src]

Cham Syndulla was a revolutionary Twi'lek male from the planet Ryloth who formed and led the Twi'lek freedom fighters during the Clone Wars. Before the war, Syndulla, a member of his planet's nobility, opposed both the Galactic Republic and its Ryloth Senator, Orn Free Taa, believing Taa to be uncaring of the fate of the Twi'lek people. After the Clone Wars had begun, the Confederacy of Independent Systems invaded Ryloth. Reluctant to take power but wanting the best for his people, Syndulla formed the freedom fighters to combat the oppression and launched a campaign against the Separatist Droid Army. However, Syndulla and his forces were forced to retreat from the battlefield, and his fighters set up camp in the remains of several fallen droid vehicles on the plains of Cazne.

Syndulla's leadership qualities led his friend and minstrel, Gobi Glie, to compose a song about him, though Syndulla was opposed to the ballad's exaggeration of his traits. After Jedi Master Mace Windu arrived with Republic forces to liberate Ryloth, Syndulla resolved his issues with Taa and the Republic and entered into an alliance with them. During the ensuing assault on Ryloth's capital of Lessu to free the city from Separatist control, Syndulla led the combined forces of his freedom fighters and the Republic unit Lightning Squadron to besiege the captured city, and he was eventually able to liberate his homeworld from the Confederacy. Mission to Vassek's third moonEdit

Vebb Grievous Fisto
"This is the lair of General Grievous!"
―Kit Fisto[src]

Jedi Master Kit Fisto, Jedi Knight Nahdar Vebb, and a squad of clone troopers undertook a mission in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars to recapture Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray, who had recently escaped from Republic custody. However, Confederate Head of State Count Dooku, displeased with General Grievous's recent failures in the war, used a Republic homing beacon to lure the Jedi and clones to the general's castle on the third moon of Vassek as a test for Grievous. Gunray deceived the Jedi and troopers through a holotransmission, and once they uncovered the ploy, Dooku contacted the Republic agents and put them on the trail of the "alternative prize" of Grievous.

The Jedi and their troops set a trap for Grievous and confronted the cyborg general once he arrived. However, Grievous was able to eliminate several clone troopers, and after sustaining injuries, escape to the castle's secret command center. Sealing off the exits, the Confederate general trapped the Jedi and clones inside his castle. While Grievous was repaired by his caretaker droid, the general pitted the Jedi and the remaining clones against the castle's defenses—a molten incinerator pit and the general's pet roggwart, Gor. The clones were killed, but the Jedi were able to eliminate Gor. As Grievous resolved to personally confront the Jedi, Fisto and Vebb infiltrated the castle's command center. Vebb remained outside, however, and fought Grievous himself, but was killed by the general. After Fisto dueled Grievous on the castle's outer platform, the Jedi Master was able to escape. Skirmish at VanqorEdit

Dooku escape hatch
"When you're a Jedi Master, you can make the plan."
"That's just it. How can I become a Jedi Master if I'm always getting caught?"
"At least you're a master…at getting caught."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker[src]

A skirmish took place over and on the planet Vanqor in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars, when the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order attempted to capture Confederate Head of State Count Dooku. Jedi General Anakin Skywalker allowed himself to be taken prisoner aboard Dooku's frigate while in an ice field and High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi infiltrated the Confederate vessel when it was later in space over Vanqor, freeing his companion. The two Jedi found and confronted Dooku, but as the Republic Star Destroyer Resolute opened fire on the frigate, the Sith Lord fled from the ship in his solar sailer.

Skywalker and Kenobi stole a transport shuttle and pursued the Count, but both the Jedi and Sith's ships were damaged and forced to crash-land on Vanqor. While Dooku trapped the Jedi in a cave and managed to escape, Skywalker and Kenobi fought and defeated a gundark before accidentally releasing noxious gas while trying to unblock the exit from the cave. The two Jedi were rescued by Skywalker's Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, and a clone trooper squad, when they blasted open the cavern entrance. (Read more…)

CC-3636Edit

Wolffe-TCWCE
"Do you think we have a chance, General?"
"I don't believe in chance, Commander. I know if we work together, we will stay alive, and someone will find us."
―Wolffe and Plo Koon[src]

CC-3636, nicknamed "Wolffe," was a veteran clone trooper commander in the Grand Army of the Republic who served with Jedi General Plo Koon during the Clone Wars. The leader of the 104th Battalion's famed Wolfpack squad, Commander Wolffe proved to be tireless in his efforts against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, displaying an affinity for strategy. In 22 BBY, on his first mission with Koon, Wolffe served on board the Jedi Master's flagship, the Triumphant, when Koon led a task force to eliminate the Separatist warship Malevolence. While confronting the Malevolence in the Abregado system, however, all of the Wolfpack was eliminated, save for Koon, Wolffe, and troopers Sinker and Boost. The four were rescued by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, and Wolffe had his unit adopt new clone trooper armor in honor of his fallen comrades. Refusing to let the loss of the Wolfpack deter him from his service, he inspired loyalty amongst his men.

Wolffe's loyalty to the Jedi put him at odds with the ambitious Major Kendal Ozzel during the Battle of Khorm, in which they participated alongside Generals Koon, Kit Fisto, and Tauht. Though Wolffe lost his right eye in a fight with the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress, the Republic was able to defeat the Separatists, liberating the Confederacy's Khormai slaves and securing the planet's repositories of rare agrocite ore for the Grand Army. Although scarred and forced to wear a cybernetic eye replacement, Wolffe continued his military service to the Republic, undertaking several key rescue missions with Koon to Felucia, Vanqor, and Lola Sayu. Wolffe even joined Koon in challenging General Grievous during the Second Battle of Felucia and the following Mission to Iceberg Three. He personally oversaw a supply mission to the groundquake-devastated planet Aleen and additionally assisted in liberating Togruta slaves from the Zygerrian Slave Empire on Kadavo. (Read more…)

Sky Battle of QuellEdit

Battle of Quell2
"You'll never be able to dock with our ship in the middle of this battle!"
"We have no choice, Admiral. General Skywalker's condition may be critical. We must get him on board the Resolute."
"Are all Jedi so reckless?"
"Just the good ones."
―Wullf Yularen and Aayla Secura[src]

The Sky Battle of Quell took place in the first year of the Clone Wars in the skies over the contested world of Quell when Jedi General Aayla Secura and her Republic fleet were ambushed by a Confederate Navy flotilla. Meeting in Quell's upper atmosphere, each faction launched starfighter squadrons that engaged their enemies in combat. Although both sides took losses, it was Secura's forces from the 327th Star Corps that suffered greater casualties when two of their three Star Destroyers fell to the Confederate frigates' heavy turbolaser fire. As the Separatist tactical droid commander, TF-1726, dispatched B2-RP battle droids to board Secura's crippled command ship, the Liberty, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker arrived with reinforcements aboard his own flagship, the Resolute. Launching in LAAT/i gunships, Skywalker boarded the Liberty with his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, and troops of the 501st Legion led by Clone Captain CT-7567 to evacuate the cruiser before it could be destroyed.

Skywalker, Tano, and CT-7567 were able to catch up with Secura and her clone commander, CC-5052, during the fight to repel the Confederate battle droid invaders from the Liberty. Although Skywalker was seriously wounded while attempting to help his comrades evacuate the Star Destroyer, he, Secura, Tano, and several clone troopers successfully escaped from the Liberty aboard a Consular-class cruiser. Yet, when the frigate attempted to dock to the Resolute so that Skywalker could receive proper medical attention, the small vessel's hyperdrive was inadvertently activated from an attack by a Vulture droid starfighter squadron. The three Jedi and the clones were unable to prevent their ship from jumping to hyperspace, leaving Admiral Wullf Yularen and the Resolute to continue the battle against the Separatist armada with the remaining Republic forces, which were eventually defeated. Second Battle of GeonosisEdit

2nd Battle of Geonosis
"As Captain Rex said, this will be a full scale planetary invasion. We're settling the score on Geonosis once and for all."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi[src]

The Second Battle of Geonosis took place around 22 BBY during the Clone Wars, when the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic launched a full-scale planetary invasion of Geonosis to shut down several Separatist battle droid foundries that Archduke Poggle the Lesser had built there. Following Senator Padmé Amidala's discovery of the droid factories, the Jedi High Council dispatched a massive Jedi-led detachment of the Grand Army of the Republic to retake Geonosis and halt the facilities' production of battle droids. Tasked with the challenge of landing on the planet and establishing a staging area, the Jedi mounted a three-pronged attack on the Geonosian defenses in what became known as the battle of Point Rain, with Jedi Generals Ki-Adi-Mundi, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker each leading an assault force. After establishing a landing zone at Point Rain, a site close to the factories' Ray Shield Fortress generator, the Republic army regrouped and disabled the factories' ray shield, making way for the rest of the clone trooper forces to safely land.

While Poggle attempted to retake Point Rain and his Ray Shield Fortress, his main droid foundry was targeted by the Jedi. In order to eliminate the factory, Generals Skywalker and Luminara Unduli battled the facility's droid defenses in open warfare while their respective Padawans, Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee, sneaked into the facility via the catacombs beneath it. As their Masters battled Poggle's army—including several newly designed super tanks—on the bridge leading to the factory, the Padawans' infiltration of the foundry was cut short when they were intercepted by Poggle and his tactical droid, TX-21. With their explosive charges stolen, Tano and Offee used a super tank to blow up the facility's reactor and collapse the factory from the inside. Skywalker and Unduli rescued their Padawans from the debris once the foundry had fallen. Despite the Republic's destruction of other key factories, Poggle remained at large, having escaped his primary foundry before its eradication.

As the Jedi undertook the cleanup of Geonosis, they launched a campaign to find and apprehend Poggle. Unduli spearheaded the search and followed Poggle to the abandoned Progate Temple, where she was captured by the Archduke and taken to the lair of Geonosian Queen Karina the Great in the catacombs below. Tracking Unduli's last known location, Kenobi and Skywalker set out with a clone platoon to rescue her. Battling hordes of "undead" Geonosian warriors who were being reanimated by the Queen's brain worm parasites, the Jedi and their troops found Unduli in Karina's lair. Although Karina wished to induct Unduli and her comrades into her ranks of mind-controlled warriors, Kenobi, Skywalker, and their men were able to save Unduli and take Poggle into custody. The Jedi and their troops destroyed much of the Queen's lair during their escape, killing Karina the Great and burying her warriors beneath the temple, and the Republic's recapture of Geonosis was secured. Convention of Civilized SystemsEdit

"It is obvious these creatures are not covered by the Convention of Civilized Systems. The Jedi Council has no say in the matter."
―Chairman Chi Cho, on the Talz[src]

The Convention of Civilized Systems was a bill of rights movement that had been ratified by the Galactic Republic by the time of the Clone Wars. It was put into effect to apply better methods of determining a species' sentience, and it additionally granted the rights of sentient Republic citizens to those who were deemed to deserve them. The decree provided various tests to ascertain sentience, and amendments to the act expanded its coverage to species in multiple star systems that appeared incapable of interstellar travel. However, the bill of rights itself increased genocidal crimes against previously undocumented sentient species, as some individuals drove species to extinction and then covered up the massacres so as not to be prosecuted by the Republic.

Besides these illicit genocides, another example of a failure of the law act's enforcement occurred when Chairman Chi Cho of the Pantoran Assembly declared war on the Talz tribe that had colonized the ice world Orto Plutonia, intent on discrediting their claim to Orto Plutonia and restoring that of the planet's moon, Pantora. The fiasco ended when Senator Riyo Chuchi negotiated a peace agreement with the Talz, who were in fact sentient despite Cho's claims that they were not covered by the Convention of Civilized Systems. Cad BaneEdit

CadBane-DK
"I'm in control. I make the rules now."
―Cad Bane[src]

Cad Bane was a Duros male bounty hunter from the planet Duro who earned a reputation as the galaxy's best, deadliest, and most fearsome mercenary during the Clone Wars. Though he worked for a number of clients, his loyalty was ultimately to credits—and by extension, the highest bidder. Bane employed a variety of weapons and allies to ensure that he always got his pay, and he became the leader in his line of work after fellow bounty hunter Jango Fett perished in the opening battle of the war. His renown attracted the attention of Count Dooku and even the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, the latter of whom employed him numerous times for his own means. Working for Sidious, Bane stole a Jedi holocron from the Jedi Temple to unlock the Kyber memory crystal, a repository of all recorded Force-sensitive infants in the galaxy. After pilfering the crystal from Jedi Master Bolla Ropal on Devaron and forcing Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker to unlock it, Bane was sent to kidnap four of the infants listed in the crystal. Despite being captured halfway through his job by Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, Bane escaped from Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu by luring them into a trap on his hideout, Black Stall Station.

Bane was later hired by the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure and the Hutt Grand Council to break Jabba's criminal uncle, Ziro Desilijic Tiure, out of Republic custody on Coruscant. Forming a team of hunters to execute his job, Bane launched a brazen raid on the Republic Executive Building and captured ten prominent members of the Galactic Senate, using them as hostages to force Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to free Ziro. Once he had secured Ziro's release from the high-security Central Detention Center, Bane disbanded his posse and delivered Ziro to the Hutt Council. When Ziro escaped from their custody on Nal Hutta, Bane was re-hired to track down the crime lord. Though he arrived on Teth too late to secure his bounty, he managed to evade Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos, who failed to apprehend him for his crimes. At the close of the bounty hunting season, Bane's total bounties surpassed those of all others in field.

After breaking criminal mastermind Moralo Eval out of the Republic's Central Detention Center, Bane became a candidate in Eval's plot to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine for Count Dooku and the Confederacy. Bane thus entered Eval's Box to become one of the five mercenaries who would be hired for the job. After passing the competition alongside fellow hunters Embo, Derrown, Twazzi, and Rako Hardeen, Bane was personally selected by Dooku to lead the operation, and they traveled to Naboo to capture Chancellor Palpatine during the Festival of Light. Despite Bane's success with abducting Palpatine, he was betrayed by Dooku, who had intended for the bounty hunters' operation to simply be a diversion for his own attempt to kidnap the Chancellor. Abandoned by Dooku, Bane was defeated by Hardeen, who turned out to be none other than Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had gone undercover to infiltrate and foil Eval's plans. Bane nevertheless retained his formidable reputation throughout the Clone Wars, after which he became one of the preferred freelancers for the Galactic Empire. (Read more…)

"Chopper" was the nickname of a clone trooper who served in Clone Sergeant Slick's platoon during the Clone Wars. An aggressive soldier, Chopper was scarred during a battle droid ambush on Geonosis, and he came to hold a personal grudge against his Separatist adversaries. In 22 BBY, he was dispatched with a Jedi-led contingent of the Grand Army of the Republic to liberate the planet Christophsis from the Confederacy. When the Separatists foiled the Republic's attempt to ambush them, Chopper and his unit were forced to retreat with the rest of the Republic troops back to their base. While there, Chopper secretly made war trophies out of droid fingers pilfered from the battlefield, an exploit he was later forced to disclose when his superiors, Clone Commander CC-2224 and Clone Captain CT-7567, interrogated his unit to root out a potential Separatist spy. Although Slick framed Chopper to be the enemy agent, the Sergeant himself was revealed to be the turncoat and was apprehended after sabotaging the Republic's military supplies. (Read more…)

Teckla MinnauEdit

Teckla2
"What has happened to democracy…and why doesn't anyone seem to care?"
"Well, you do. Forgive me, my lady, umm…you're not like most politicians."

Teckla Minnau was a Human female who served as a handmaiden to such Naboo politicians as Senator Padmé Amidala and Queen Kylantha. Born in the city of Parrlay, Minnau attended a private school in Naboo's capital, Theed, with her half-sister, Nandi. When the Trade Federation invaded the planet and attacked Theed in 32 BBY, Minnau fled from the capital and waited out the invasion at a marsh village. Minnau and Nandi later entered into service to Senator Amidala, and in 22 BBY, they managed her family's Lake Country residence of Varykino. At the dawn of the Clone Wars later that year, Minnau was sent to Coruscant's Naboo Embassy, where she worked with Amidala's staff. While raising children in the difficulties of wartime, Minnau helped Amidala by encouraging her in her career in the Republic Senate, and she also assisted in concealing her Senator's pregnancy. Upon Amidala's death and the establishment of the New Order in 19 BBY, Minnau returned to Naboo, married a writer, and became one of Queen Kylantha's aides. (Read more…)

First Battle of FeluciaEdit

"Can't you see they're retreating?"
"They're about to overrun you, Ahsoka! You just can't see it. Now follow orders and get in the ship."
―Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker, on the regrouping battle droids[src]

The First Battle of Felucia took place for control of the planet Felucia between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems around the first year of the Clone Wars. When the Confederate General Grievous and the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress seized Felucia with the Separatist Droid Army, Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and the latter's Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, were dispatched to lead a clone trooper detachment of the Grand Army of the Republic to maintain the Republic's foothold on the world. However, the Jedi and their forces were soon overwhelmed by the deeply entrenched Separatist troops, and Republic reinforcements were sent to extract the Jedi and the clones from the contested world.

While Clone Commander CC-3636 oversaw the Republic Navy's Hunter Squadron and several Star Destroyers in their assault on the large Separatist blockade surrounding Felucia, Jedi Master Plo Koon and a Jedi Knight took a squadron of LAAT/i gunships with starfighter escorts to rescue the Jedi and clone troopers on the embattled surface. Although Kenobi, Skywalker, Tano, and the remainder of their battle group were able to evacuate from the planet with Koon's team, the Republic's failure to hold Felucia hampered the Grand Army's efforts in the entire sector. NeeyutneeEdit

―Queen Neeyutnee, to Padmé Amidala[src]

Queen Neeyutnee was a Human female politician who ruled as the Monarch of Naboo during the tumultuous time of the Clone Wars. Elected in 22 BBY as the successor to Queen Jamillia, the very young but mature Neeyutnee harbored no illusions about the war and met problems with appropriate action. She became closely involved with the Naboo Royal Advisory Council, the Royal Security Forces, and Boss Rugor Nass of the Gungans, ensuring that her peaceful homeworld remained relatively unharmed by the war. Not long after ascending to the throne, Neeyutnee was faced with a subtle Trade Federation incursion when a Separatist battle droid patrol was found in Naboo's grasslands. She worked swiftly with Captain Gregar Typho and Senator Padmé Amidala to uncover the nature of the threat, and Amidala's investigations resulted in the discovery and eradication of a secret Separatist laboratory that had been recreating the Blue Shadow Virus on their world.

When the Confederacy later sowed Gungan–Naboo tensions in an effort to invade Naboo, Neeyutnee again worked with Amidala and Representative Jar Jar Binks to avert the threat of invasion to their homeworld. Thanks to their combined efforts, the Confederate General Grievous was forced to recall his battle droid army from Naboo, and Binks also restored the Gungans' alliance with Neeyutnee's regime. She later oversaw the Festival of Light in celebration of the 857th anniversary of Naboo's union with the Republic. Neeyutnee only served one term before stepping down as Naboo's monarch, and, by 19 BBY, she had been succeeded by Queen Apailana. (Read more…)

―Asajj Ventress is betrayed by Count Dooku during the Battle of Sullust[src]

The Battle of Sullust took place around 21 BBY during the Clone Wars, when the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic clashed over the planet Sullust. While a Confederate fleet waged an intense space battle against a Republic flotilla commanded by Admiral Wullf Yularen and Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress personally led the Separatists' starfighters against the Republic task force. Spearheading droid tri-fighter attacks, Ventress destroyed the Resolute, the flagship of Skywalker and Yularen, before moving in to challenge Skywalker and Kenobi in starfighter combat, dealing losses all the while. However, her push for success soon saw interference from her own Master, Count Dooku.

Charged by his Sith Master, the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, with killing Ventress to prove his true allegiance to his Master, Dooku ordered an attempt on his apprentice's life. After recalling Ventress's reinforcements, Dooku had the tactical droid TJ-912 and her Separatist destroyer directly assault and destroy the Separatist command ship, where Ventress had engaged Skywalker and Kenobi in a lightsaber duel. With the Confederate fleet sustaining heavy damage, Dooku ordered TJ-912 to recall their armada from the Sullust system. However, both Ventress and the Jedi escaped from the command ship prior to its annihilation. ―Hawk, upon touching down on Teth[src]

"Hawk" was the call sign of a clone trooper lieutenant and pilot who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. An expert pilot, Hawk was named for his highly precise hawk-like eyes. He saw action, particularly with the 501st Legion, on many worlds during the war, including Christophsis. During a battle there in 22 BBY, he rescued a clone trooper strike team led by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker after a thwarted Republic attempt to ambush Confederate battle droids. Later, during a following operation to rescue Rotta the Huttlet, the son of crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, Hawk ferried Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, along with Clone Captain CT-7567 and a squad from the 501st Legion's Torrent Company, to the surface of Teth aboard an LAAT/i gunship. After landing on Teth, Skywalker's forces began an assault to reach the B'omarr Monastery where Rotta was being held. Both campaigns resulted in victories for the Republic.

When the Republic launched an invasion around 21 BBY to retake Umbara from the Confederacy, Hawk was among the troops dispatched as part of the Grand Army's landing force. At the outset of the battle, Hawk served with the 501st Legion, transporting Skywalker, CT-7567, and their men to the planet's surface via gunship despite thick ground fire from the Umbaran militia. On a later assignment, he covertly inserted Skywalker, CT-7567, Tano, and Kenobi onto Onderon aboard a Nu-class attack shuttle so that the four officers could train a group of rebel soldiers to retake their world from the Confederacy. The Battle of Dorin took place around 22 BBY during the Clone Wars, when General Grievous of the Confederacy of Independent Systems struck at the Kel Dor homeworld of Dorin in retribution for the planet's loyalty to the Galactic Republic. The Separatist invasion also served as a diversion to prevent the Republic from assaulting the Confederacy's new droid foundry on Geonosis, which the Republic had recently discovered. Battle of Malastare NarrowsEdit

"If I remember my military history, wasn't he vaporized at the Battle of Malastare Narrows?"
―Anakin Skywalker, on Trench[src]

The Battle of Malastare Narrows was a naval engagement that took place at the planet Malastare in 34 BBY. After reaching a disagreement with Malastarian Dug companies over fuel allocations, the Corporate Alliance elected to blockade Malastare to force an agreement in their favor. To that end the Alliance Admiral Trench blockaded the Malastare Narrows with a corporate fleet, leading the Dugs to appeal for assistance from Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum of the Galactic Republic. Though publicly demurring to send aid, Valorum feared that the Alliance would triumph if the conflict escalated into a shooting war. Valorum thus equipped Malastare behind-the-scenes with funds for privateer starships, as well as such military "observers" as Captain Wullf Yularen of the Kwymar Sector Fleet to overturn the Alliance's blockade of the Malastare Narrows.

During the ensuing battle between the Alliance and Republic fleets, Trench used his ruthlessly efficient tactics to tear the Republic ships apart, nearly succeeding in eradicating Yularen's forces. Eventually, a task force led by Jedi Master Kep-She was sent to intervene and reinforced the remainder of Yularen's task force, overpowering Trench's flotilla and forcing the Corporate Alliance to retreat from Malastare. Although the vaporization of Trench's flagship led to the presumption of his death, he survived the battle and returned to fight Yularen during the Separatist blockade of Christophsis, over a decade later during the Clone Wars. Around 21 BBY, Atell refused to support Senator Mina Bonteri's bill to open peace negotiations with the Republic. Although the bill passed by a majority in the Parliament, it proved to be unsuccessful once it reached the Republic Senate due to the machinations of the Confederate Head of State, Count Dooku. As the war continued, Atell consented to serve with Separatist Congress Leader Bec Lawise on a Separatist delegation at the first-ever peace conference with the Republic on Mandalore, in which she demanded that the Republic representatives—Senators Padmé Amidala, Bail Prestor Organa, and Mon Mothma—confer political legitimacy on the Confederacy. Admiral Coburn was a respected fleet officer in the Republic Navy who served with Jedi General Plo Koon during the Clone Wars. A hardline and highly disciplined commander, he had an unmistakable command presence due to his taciturnity and ran a tight ship aboard his Venator-class Star Destroyer. He worked closely with Koon and Clone Commander Wolffe of the 104th Battalion in coordinating some of the most dangerous operations, as part of the Galactic Republic's war effort against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Around the war's second year, Coburn led a four-cruiser fleet to the Separatist stronghold of Lola Sayu to retrieve a group of Republic hostages and their Jedi rescuers from the notorious prison known as the Citadel. While Coburn commanded the Republic fleet against the enemy blockade of Lola Sayu, Masters Koon, Adi Gallia, Saesee Tiin, and Kit Fisto rescued the survivors from the surface. Coburn and his task force were able to pull out with minimal casualties.

At Kadavo, Coburn took part in another successful operation, overseeing an Arquitens-class light cruiser that was instrumental in the rescue of a number of Togruta colonists who had been captured and enslaved by the Separatist-backed Zygerrian Slave Empire. Mandalorian ExcisionEdit

"Mandalorian Space was occupied and disarmed, with a caretaker government created from elements of the failed peace movement. The occupation would last for decades, and create a new schism in Mandalorian society."
―Vilnau Teupt[src]

The Mandalorian Excision of 738 BBY was a brief but brutal conflict that saw the devastation of Mandalorian Space at the hands of the Galactic Republic. Following the Republic's enactment of the Ruusan Reformations in 1,000 BBY, the Mandalorian people experienced a growth in technological prowess and military power, but they refused to join the Republic due to their traditional warrior ways. Alarmed by the rising threat of the Mandalorians, the Jedi Order organized the Republic's Judicial Forces and Planetary Security Forces in a preemptive strike on Mandalorian Space. The Mandalorians had no hope of winning a war against the Republic and suffered greatly in the resulting battles, with a number of planets including Concord Dawn, Ordo, Fenel, and Mandalore itself crippled by bombardment. The damage lasted for centuries, with entire sections of Mandalorian worlds remaining barren deserts.

Following the Excision, the Republic disarmed and occupied Mandalorian Space, installing a provisional government to oversee sectoral affairs. The Mandalorians preserved their distinctive culture, as well as their resentment of the Republic and the Jedi who had defeated them, while rebuilding the worlds left scarred by the war. The Excision led to the formation of the pacifistic New Mandalorians, who prevailed over the warrior clans in many areas of governmental operation and society, becoming the new rulers of Mandalore. Nevertheless, many unrepentant warriors continued their traditional practices, eventually leading to the formation of such splinter groups as the Death Watch. The schism in ideology ensured that further conflict would ensue, as it did well into the time of the Clone Wars. (Read more…)

Yos KolinaEdit

"The Calamari system is of great importance to the Republic, King Kolina. But our armies are spread extremely thin right now."
"Then regretfully, without your help, I can no longer guarantee the stability of this region. Farewell."
―Anakin Skywalker and Yos Kolina[src]

Yos Kolina was the eighty-second King of Mon Cala, reigning over the Mon Calamari in support of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. A strong and respected leader, he worked with such advisors as Senator Meena Tills and Captain Gial Ackbar of the Mon Calamari Guard to ensure the well-being of his people, in addition to operating with the Mon Calamari Council. Although the Mon Calamari and their Quarren neighbors always clashed over their differences, Kolina was able to keep the peace thanks to his friendship with the Quarren chieftain, Nossor Ri, with the two leaders dispelling tensions through open discussion and mutual respect. They remained united in their support of the Republic and the Jedi Order, and Kolina even led soldiers from both peoples into battle during his rule over Mon Cala. Around the second year of the war, Kolina found the unity of his kingdom challenged when the Confederacy of Independent Systems began to make advances on the Calamari system.

Kolina petitioned the Republic and the Jedi High Council for aid, but he was shortly thereafter assassinated by Separatist Commander Riff Tamson. Having been integral to his people's peace with the Quarren, Kolina's sudden death left the throne to his young son, Prince Lee-Char. Renouncing Mon Calamari rule, Nossor Ri and the Quarren allied with the Confederacy, resulting in civil war on Mon Cala. Battle of Kamino (Tipoca City assault)Edit

CloneTroopersDefendKamino-AT
"With all due respect, General, if someone comes to our home, they'd better be carrying a big blaster."
"I concur with Captain Rex, sir. This is personal for us clones."
―Captain Rex and Commander Cody, to Obi-Wan Kenobi[src]

The Battle of Kamino, a key campaign of the Clone Wars, was fought for control of the planet Kamino around 22 BBY. Also known as the Invasion of Kamino or the defense of Kamino, the battle occurred when the Confederacy of Independent Systems launched a massive assault aimed at crippling the Grand Army of the Republic's main cloning facilities in Kamino's capital, Tipoca City. Having collaborated during a thwarted attempt to invade Kamino several months earlier, rivals General Grievous and Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress were assigned by Count Dooku to lead the Separatist attack on Kamino. Joining Jedi General Shaak Ti and Prime Minister Lama Su in coordinating the Galactic Republic's defense of Kamino were Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker who, unwilling to lose the vital cloning factories, brought their clone troopers of the 501st Legion to reinforce the Grand Army defenses.

Ventress had already infiltrated Kamino by the time Grievous arrived to beleaguer the Republic's naval blockade with an invasion fleet of his own. Although Skywalker led the Republic's starfighter squadrons against the Confederate armada, the resulting space engagement only served as a cover for elements of the Separatist Droid Army to land on Kamino via re-entry capsules disguised as starship debris. After being reassembled by Ventress's aqua droids in the ocean of Kamino, the Separatist Trident-class assault ships launched their troops against Tipoca City, and the Jedi and clones rushed to repel Grievous and the invaders. Ventress went after a DNA sample of the Grand Army's prime clone Jango Fett but was intercepted by Skywalker, who dueled the Dark Acolyte for the DNA sample. In a similar fashion, Grievous was confronted by Kenobi while spearheading a droid assault on Tipoca City's clone barracks.

As the Separatist battle droids pressed further into Tipoca City, Kamino's elite Advanced Recon Commandos played a critical part in repulsing the enemy forces from the clone troopers' homeworld. While Clone Commander Cody and Clone Captain Rex organized a defense of the barracks, Ti led other troops in pushing back the droids to Tipoca City's main hangar, where the invaders were eliminated. Ultimately, Grievous and Ventress failed to cripple Tipoca City as they had hoped thanks to the intervention of Kenobi and Skywalker, the latter of whom recovered the stolen DNA sample from Ventress. Skywalker attempted to have his clone troopers execute Ventress, but she escaped with Grievous aboard a Kamino spacecraft. Despite heavy losses, the Jedi and clones were able to drive the Separatists from Kamino. Two 501st troopers, Fives and Echo, were awarded ARC trooper status for their performance in the battle. Clone Z-95 starfighterEdit

―Plo Koon, ordering a squadron of clone Z-95 starfighters into battle[src]

The clone Z-95 starfighter, known more commonly as the clone Z-95 Headhunter or the Headhunter starfighter after its predecessor model, was a single-seater starfighter developed by the Galactic Republic for its clone trooper pilots during the Clone Wars. A variant of the popular Z-95 Headhunter, the clone Z-95 starfighter boasted speed and maneuverability on account of its sleek design. Jointly manufactured by Incom and Subpro Corporations, the Z-95 starfighter was equipped with recessed torpedo launchers and a pair of wingtip laser cannons. The model was specifically customized for the clone trooper pilots of the Republic Navy, who often cross-trained in the Z-95 and another Incom/Subpro product, the heavy-duty ARC-170 starfighter, due to the similarity of both starships' flight controls.

The Republic Navy employed the Z-95 starfighter in several capacities, including escort and starfighter combat against enemy forces from the Navy of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, particularly at the lengthy Battle of Umbara. A number of clone pilots such as Warthog, who flew a Z-95 during an assault on Kadavo, became adept in piloting the Z-95, in addition to other Republic combat craft. Squadrons of Z-95 starfighters also served with High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi's fleet when it was attacked by Confederate General Grievous. (Read more…)

Senator Bec Lawise was a Siniteen male who served as the Separatist Congress Leader of the Separatist Parliament during the Clone Wars. A vocal supporter of Count Dooku and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Lawise maintained a leadership role in the Parliament, presiding over congress sessions on Raxus alongside Dooku, the Head of State. Lawise was present when Senator Mina Bonteri secured the passage of a bill to open peace negotiations with the Galactic Republic, a move that ultimately resulted in the derailment of the proposal and her murder, both due to Dooku's machinations. Lawise later served on a three-member Parliament delegation at a peace conference on Mandalore, where they met with Republic representatives to pursue a diplomatic end to the war. The deliberations were interrupted by Mina Bonteri's son, Lux, who publicly accused Dooku of assassinating his mother and led Lawise to have the delegation's security droids arrest the young man. Battle of Dathomir (Clone Wars)Edit

BattleOfDathomir-Massacre
"The time has come at last to take revenge on Asajj Ventress and the witch Mother Talzin. I have learned Ventress has returned to Dathomir. Go there, and wipe the witches out. All of them."
―Count Dooku, to General Grievous[src]

The Battle of Dathomir was an engagement around 21 BBY, the second year of the Clone Wars, that resulted in the annihilation of the Nightsisters of Dathomir. Seeking revenge for a previous assassination attempt concocted by his former agent Asajj Ventress and Mother Talzin of the Nightsisters, Count Dooku sanctioned an invasion of Dathomir to eliminate the entire clan of witches. General Grievous led the Separatist Droid Army's assault, bringing a full fleet from the Confederate Navy to strike at Dathomir. After ordering a bombing run to dislodge the Nightsisters from their fortress, Grievous landed with his battle droid troops and dispatched them to besiege the witches' village. Undeterred, Ventress led her fellow warriors on an offensive against the droids, pushing through the jungles to Grievous's position. After the elder witch Daka resurrected the fallen sisters of the Army of the Dead, Ventress took her undead reinforcements to obliterate a Defoliator Deployment Tank sent in by Grievous, then headed directly for the droid landing site.

Arriving at the Separatist landing craft, Ventress challenged Grievous to single lightsaber combat, naming total victory in the battle as the prize. Although nearly defeated in the ensuing duel, Grievous had his battle droids attack Ventress and her army, with the Nightsister retreating from the battlefield after being injured by blaster fire. Meanwhile, Talzin used voodoo magic to set a plague upon Dooku, who was monitoring the battle from his palace on Serenno, to pressure him into calling off his attack. With Dooku unable to defend himself from Talzin's magic, Grievous was ordered to target Talzin instead of Ventress, and he personally led his troops to the Nightsister village's Hidden Cave. Talzin relinquished her magic before escaping, but Grievous's murder of Daka terminated the spell sustaining the Army of the Dead. Without the aid of their zombie sisters, the remaining Nightsisters were outnumbered and massacred. Only Talzin and Ventress evaded slaughter, with the latter leaving the ravaged Dathomir to pursue a newly foretold destiny. (Read more…)

WarthogEdit

Warthog
"Great. It's gonna be another one of those planets."
―A world-weary Warthog, upon seeing an Aleena flying a can-cell over Aleen[src]

"Warthog" was the nickname of a veteran clone trooper pilot who served in the Republic Navy's Hunter Squadron during the Clone Wars, often as the wingman to Jedi General Plo Koon. Born on Kamino, Warthog became a skilled starfighter pilot and joined his clone trooper brethren in a number of engagements against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. He became good friends with fellow pilot Tracer, who served as the tail gunner for his BTL-B Y-wing starfighter during their service in Hunter Squadron. Warthog piloted his Y-wing during an assault on the planet Gwori around 22 BBY, serving under Jedi Masters Koon and Saesee Tiin to cripple Gwori's Separatist shipyards. Although the mission was a success, Warthog lost Tracer to enemy fire from a Vulture droid starfighter while withdrawing from Gwori. At the First Battle of Felucia, Warthog flew a V-19 Torrent starfighter, working with Koon to provide starfighter cover for a convoy of LAAT/i gunships. Warthog and Koon safely escorted the gunships to the surface of Felucia, where they rescued a Republic battle group that had been overrun by the Separatist Droid Army.

Besides serving in Hunter Squadron, Warthog was often attached to Clone Commander CC-3636's 104th Battalion, providing aerial support or piloting one of the unit's gunships. The latter was the case circa 21 BBY during a supply mission to Aleen, where Warthog ferried 104th troops and relief supplies. Flying a nimble clone Z-95 starfighter, Warthog joined Koon in leading a starfighter assault on a slave processing facility on Kadavo, where a number of Togruta colonists had been enslaved by the Separatist-allied Zygerrian Slave Empire. Warthog and his Wolfpack pilots eliminated the Zygerrians' HH-87 Starhoppers and turbolaser defenses so that Admiral Coburn could retrieve the Togrutas with a light cruiser. (Read more…)

Second Battle of FeluciaEdit

"Droid reinforcements have just arrived. We should break into three groups to divide their defenses. I'll take the left flank; Skywalker, attack the front gate. Ahsoka, you scale the back wall. We'll meet in the middle."
―Plo Koon[src]

The Second Battle of Felucia occurred around 21 BBY during the Clone Wars, when forces from the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems clashed over control of the planet Felucia. Having been forced into a retreat at the previous First Battle of Felucia, the Republic re-established a presence there thanks to the efforts of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Commander Ahsoka Tano, who led their clone troopers from the Grand Army of the Republic on an offensive into Separatist-held territory. In retaliation, General Grievous supplied one of his outposts on Felucia with reinforcements from the Separatist Droid Army to secure the system for the Confederacy. Responding to the arrival of the battle droid detachment, Skywalker, Tano, and Jedi Master Plo Koon targeted the enemy outpost with a three-pronged assault, each leading a squad of troopers to divide the Separatist defenses.

Supported by heavy artillery tanks situated on an adjacent ridge, the Jedi and clones were able to secure the base from T-series tactical droid TZ-33, eliminating all of the droid forces there. However, Tano was captured during the fighting by a group of Trandoshan hunters, who brought her to the moon Wasskah to be hunted for sport. Skywalker and Koon withdrew from Felucia the following day. (Read more…)

Attack on Obi-Wan Kenobi's fleetEdit

―Obi-Wan Kenobi, in a holographic transmission left for General Grievous[src]

General Grievous of the Confederacy of Independent Systems attacked a Republic Navy fleet under the command of his longtime enemy, High Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, around the third year of the Clone Wars. Launching a surprise assault on Kenobi's three-cruiser fleet in space, Grievous's armada gained a swift advantage, with the Confederate Navy battleships and droid starfighters summarily eliminating the Republic Star Destroyers and their outmatched starfighter squadrons. When Grievous arrived with a boarding party of battle droids aboard the Star Destroyer Negotiator, Kenobi mounted a defense of his flagship's main hangar with Marshal Commander CC-2224, nicknamed "Cody," and their clone troopers from the 212th Attack Battalion. Yet Kenobi was unable to defeat Grievous in lightsaber combat and ordered all troop personnel to evacuate from the Negotiator, which he conceded to Grievous's control.

Before jettisoning from the Negotiator aboard escape pods with Commander Cody and their men, Kenobi activated his crippled flagship's self-destruct sequence, forcing Grievous to abandon the ship aboard a shuttle before he could plunder the military intelligence stored in its computer databanks. The destruction of Kenobi's fleet prevented him from sending Cody to aid Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, who had been captured by Captain Hondo Ohnaka and his pirates while overseeing a training mission with a class of Jedi Initiates. Separatist supply shipEdit

SepSupplyShip-SWE
"It seems they're receiving new arms shipments directly from a supply ship orbiting—"
Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, informing Jedi General Pong Krell of the Umbarans' Separatist supply ship[src]

The Separatist supply ship, also known as the Separatist support ship or the Separatist transport, was a massive transport and supply ship utilized by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Originally a corporate vessel, the supply ship was adapted to compensate for the inadequate cargo capacities of other craft in the Confederate Navy, particularly the Lucrehulk-class battleship. The supply ship was over one thousand meters wide and housed several hangar bays, which could accommodate multiple C-9979 landing craft to transport the battle droid infantry of the Separatist Droid Army to battlefields across the galaxy. Being able to store over five million metric tons of cargo, it was primarily used for arms and resupply shipments to the organic defense armies in the Confederate military, often supporting planetary campaigns from orbit. It was armed with point-defense laser cannons and could be crewed by B1 battle droids overseen by a T-series tactical droid.

During the lengthy Battle of Umbara of circa 21 BBY, the Confederacy provided a Separatist supply ship to the Umbaran militia, which used the transport to reopen supply lines to the capital city following the Galactic Republic's capture of an Umbaran airbase. The supply ship sustained the capital's defenses until the craft was infiltrated and destroyed by a trio of clone trooper–commandeered Umbaran starfighters, leading to the capital's fall to the Grand Army of the Republic. A number of supply ships were involved in the Confederacy's massive blockade of Serenno, the headquarters of Head of State Count Dooku, while General Grievous used a pair of supply ships to support his invasion of Dathomir. Separatist ParliamentEdit

SeparatistSenate-HOBS
"Your friend is a Separatist? One of Dooku's pawns?"
"The Separatists used to be a part of the Republic. I was close with many of the senators who left. I may not agree with them, but they're more than pawns."
―Ahsoka Tano and Padmé Amidala, on Senator Mina Bonteri of the Separatist Parliament[src]

The Separatist Parliament, also known as the Separatist Senate or the Separatist Congress, was the civilian legislature that governed the Confederacy of Independent Systems, representing thousands of its member worlds during the Clone Wars. When the charismatic Count Dooku founded the Confederacy in 24 BBY, the swathes of sectors and star systems seceding from the Galactic Republic formed their own congressional assembly to oversee the Separatist state. A number of the appointed delegates, having served as members of the Republic Senate prior to their secession, continued to represent their constituents in the Confederacy. Operating by a bill of rights known as the By-Laws of Independent Systems, the Parliament was headed by the Confederate Head of State, Dooku, as well as by Separatist Congress Leader Bec Lawise. It became headquartered on the Separatist capital of Raxus, where sessions were held in the Separatist Senate Building.

Although the representative voices of the Parliament gained a role in state matters, they were often rendered ineffective by various elements of the Separatist hierarchy. Governmental decisions were also made by the corporate interests on the Separatist Council, and Dooku himself—who was secretly the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Tyranus—manipulated situations to ensure that pan-galactic war continued for the purposes of the Sith. At times maneuvers on the part of other war-profiteering parties negated legislation enacted by the Parliament, whose members were seen by some as pawns of Dooku. Furthermore, the senators of the Parliament as well as the citizens of the Confederacy were repeatedly shielded from front-line reports of brutal campaigns waged by such commanders of the Separatist Droid Army as General Grievous. Ultimately, the Confederacy was regarded more as a movement instead of a centralized government, in spite of the Parliament's involvement in public affairs.

A wide range of views comprised the Parliament, leading to a division of positions about escalating the war effort against the Republic. Around 21 BBY, after the Clone Wars had been raging for over a year, Senator Mina Bonteri of Onderon, in collaboration with Republic Senator Padmé Amidala, introduced a bill to open peace negotiations with the Republic. Her bill passed in session by a majority, and the Parliament's motion for peace was extended to the Republic Senate. Yet Dooku conspired with a group of war profiteers to ensure that the Republic rejected the offer, culminating with his orchestration of Bonteri's murder and the withdrawal of the proposal. A delegation later represented the Parliament at an unprecedented peace conference with Republic congresspeople on Mandalore, but the talks similarly failed. The Confederacy was dissolved in 19 BBY with the death of Dooku and the execution of the Separatist Council, ending the Clone Wars. (Read more…)

Lux BonteriEdit

LuxBonteriFull-FIN
"But at what cost? It's like you once said—many lives get caught between the Republic and the Separatists."
"I did say that, once. Then after watching your heroics and the selflessness of the Jedi, I do believe the Republic is the right side to be on."
"What do you mean?"
"Dendup has appointed me the new senator of Onderon. I will follow in my mother's footsteps, and I will bring us back to the Republic."
―Ahsoka Tano and Lux Bonteri[src]

Lux Bonteri was a Human male politician and rebel fighter from Onderon during the Clone Wars. Originally loyal to the Galactic Republic, Bonteri's family sided with the Confederacy of Independent Systems when Onderon seceded at the war's outset. They moved to the Separatist capital of Raxus after Bonteri's mother, Mina Bonteri, became the senator of Onderon in the Separatist Parliament. Reaching adolescence in a time of war, the idealistic Bonteri hoped, like his mother, for a peaceful resolution to the conflict, though he came to hate the Republic after the death of his father, an officer in the Confederate military, at the hands of clone troopers from the Grand Army of the Republic. Over a year into the war, Bonteri was forced to rethink his views on the Republic and the Jedi Order after meeting a Jedi, Padawan Ahsoka Tano, for the first time. Yet he thereafter lost his mother due to the machinations of Count Dooku, who ordered her death to terminate a peace proposal that she had introduced. Bonteri briefly represented Onderon in the Parliament in his mother's place, but he soon withdrew to seek justice for her assassination.

Renouncing his Confederate ties, the orphaned Bonteri fell in with the Death Watch, a Mandalorian splinter group that shared his desire to kill Dooku. While working to determine Dooku's location for the Death Watch, Bonteri inadvertently involved Tano in his search for justice, which took them from a peace conference on Mandalore to the Death Watch's camp on Carlac. Despite Tano's allegations about the dishonorable conduct of the Death Watch, Bonteri refused to believe her claims until the group's leader, Pre Vizsla, had his charges raze an entire township of Ming Po before his very eyes. Bonteri ceased his involvement with the Death Watch and escaped from Carlac with Tano; though they parted ways, he promised they would meet again soon. Such was the case around 20 BBY, when Tano came to serve as an advisor for the group of rebels that Bonteri had joined to liberate Onderon from King Sanjay Rash's Separatist-backed regime. Coordinating their grass-roots insurgency with rebel leaders Saw and Steela Gerrera, Bonteri worked to free his homeworld by restoring the deposed King Ramsis Dendup to the throne.

After Bonteri and Saw petitioned the Jedi High Council for help, the Republic armed them against King Rash, and Tano was sent—alongside Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Clone Captain Rex—to train the rebel soldiers. After her comrades departed, Tano stayed to aid the rebels, working with Bonteri and his associates to retake the capital city Iziz. On Bonteri's suggestion to win them the support of the civilian populace, the rebels targeted Iziz's main power generator, striking a critical blow to Rash's forces while further becoming public symbols for freedom. Once they rescued Ramsis Dendup from being executed by Rash, Bonteri and his colleagues withdrew from Iziz, making a stand against the Separatist Droid Army in the eastern highlands. Bonteri grew close to Steela and nursed a brief romance with her, but though they won out over Rash's battle droid army, Steela was killed in the fighting. With Onderon's independence restored, Bonteri, having been re-appointed by the reinstated King Dendup as the senator of Onderon, decided to join the Galactic Senate and bring Onderon back into the Republic. Cham SyndullaEdit

―Cham Syndulla[src]

Cham Syndulla was a male Twi'lek from Ryloth. Before the Clone Wars—the galaxy-wide conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems—began, Syndulla held tensions with the Republic and with Ryloth's Twi'lek senator, Orn Free Taa. Syndulla mistrusted Taa, believing him to be lazy and indifferent to the fate of the Twi'lek people. In turn, Senator Taa mistrusted Syndulla, believing that Syndulla sought power using his reputation amongst the people.

After the Clone Wars had begun, Techno Union Foreman and Separatist Council member Wat Tambor invaded Ryloth, and Syndulla led the Twi'lek freedom fighters against the Separatist droid forces on the plains of Cazne. Even with the death of many Separatists, Syndulla was forced to retreat, and his fighters set up camp in the remains of several destroyed droid vehicles. After Jedi Master and High General Mace Windu arrived on the planet with Republic forces to liberate it by retaking the capital city of Lessu, Syndulla resolved his issues with Senator Taa, entered into an alliance with the Republic, and helped Windu to retake the city and capture Tambor. "I'm in control. I make the rules now."
―Cad Bane to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine[src]

Cad Bane was a male Duros born on the planet Duro, who rose to be a bounty hunter during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Bane worked for the highest bidder, and would not hesitate to turn against his original employer if his quarry offered him more credits. Because fellow bounty hunter Jango Fett—considered to be the galaxy's best—had been killed during the opening battle of the war, Bane rose to be one of the top bounty hunters in his time.

Around 21 BBY, Ziro Desilijic Tiure—a Hutt crime lord based on the galactic capital of Coruscant—was arrested after he assisted the Confederacy Head of State and Sith Lord Count Dooku in a plot to kidnap the son of his own nephew Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Ziro was desperate to escape, and Bane was employed to break the Hutt out of prison. Bane assembled a team of hunters to capture members of the Galactic Senate and force Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to free Ziro. After entering the Senate Building on Coruscant and taking the senators hostage, Bane and his team encountered Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker was captured, and Bane was successful in freeing Ziro from prison.

Later working for Count Dooku, Bane stole a holocron containing information on potential Force-sensitive infants. Bane kidnapped the infants and brought them to the planet Mustafar, where Darth Sidious, Dooku's Sith Master, planned to use them for his own purposes. (Read more…)

Senate hostage crisisEdit

Hostage Crisis
"Let's let the scavengers clean this up. Our business is on Coruscant."
―Cad Bane, shortly after the death of Davtokk[src]

Around 21 BBY, Duros bounty hunter Cad Bane organized and led a raid on the Republic Executive Building, located on the galactic capital of Coruscant. Bane sought to force Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to issue a pardon for Hutt crime lord Ziro Desilijic Tiure, who had previously been arrested and imprisoned in the Republic Judiciary Central Detention Center for his role in the Confederacy kidnapping of his great-nephew Rotta. Bane gathered together a team of bounty hunters, including the Jedi hunter Aurra Sing, the Weequay Shahan Alama, and the piscine technician Robonino, as well as several Confederate droid commandos and sentinel droids. After arranging a test for his team, in the form of combating fellow bounty hunter Davtokk, the Duros deemed his team ready for their mission.

The team infiltrated the Executive Building; disposing of multiple Senate Commando guards, the hunters proceeded to capture several senators during a conference regarding the Enhanced Privacy Invasion Bill, a piece of Galactic Senate legislation. After Robonino shut off the building's power, trapping Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and Senator Orn Free Taa in Palpatine's office, Bane issued an ultimatum to the Supreme Chancellor: Ziro was to be released, or the senators would be executed. Unbeknownst to Bane, the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker was still in the dome, having been visiting his secret wife, Senator Padmé Amidala. However, the Jedi was unarmed, and after a struggle, he was knocked out and captured.

Bane ordered Senator Taa to take a pardon disc to the prison in order to release the Hutt; after Ziro was released, the hostages would be released. Taa reluctantly complied, escorted to the prison by the sentinel droid HELIOS-3D, and Ziro was freed, returning to the Executive Building with the droid. As a final piece of leverage against Palpatine, Bane and his team set up a system of lasers around the senators—that would trigger explosives with the slightest touch—and left the building. As the bounty hunters tried to escape, clone troopers of the Coruscant Guard arrived to apprehend the team, but the hostages allowed the bounty hunters to escape with the Hutt. Bane remotely activated the explosives as payback for the indignities Ziro had gone through during prison. However, a revived Skywalker was able to cut a hole around the senators, and all of them dropped into the room below seconds before the explosives went off. (Read more…)

Mission to RugosaEdit

Mission to Rugosa
"Retreat, you must. On the moon below is my mission. There, I must go."
―Yoda to Captain Zak[src]

The Mission to Rugosa was an operation that took place in 21 BBY during the Clone Wars.

Yoda accepted the terms, and he and the clone shock troopers Lieutenant Thire, Jek, and Rys separately combated the droids. The three clones defeated a squad of B1 battle droids, but Yoda arrived to rescue the clones from a squad of oncoming B2 super battle droids. After escaping, the four took refuge in a cave, where the Jedi Master imparted his wisdom upon the clones to inspire their efforts.

Yoda defeated several Confederate droid squads and three Armored Assault Tanks single-handedly, and Ventress broke the terms of the competition, dispatching droideka reinforcements to eliminate the Jedi. However, Thire launched a rocket and caused an avalanche, crushing the droids. With the Confederacy's attempt at a treaty foiled, Dooku ordered his apprentice through a hololink to assassinate Katuunko. Yoda and the clones arrived in time to stop the attempt, and Ventress was forced to activate pre-planted explosives to cause a rockfall and escape. Yoda was able to stop the rubble, and Katuunko promised his planet's service to the Republic, before departing aboard an LAAT/i gunship with the Republic diplomatic forces. (Read more…)

Tano: "Master Obi-Wan, sometimes Artoo having that extra information has come in handy."
Kenobi: "Well, then find that droid, Anakin. Our necks might very well depend on it."

―Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker, on R2-D2[src]

Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, undertook a mission in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars to find Skywalker's astromech droid, R2-D2, who had recently been lost in the planet Bothawui's asteroid belt during the Galactic Republic's defense of the planet. The Jedi were accompanied by a replacement droid, R3-S6, unaware that the droid was a spy for the Confederate General Grievous. Skywalker and Tano searched the planet's asteroid belt in the Twilight, Skywalker's personal ship, and came upon the Vulture's Claw, Trandoshan scavenger Gha Nachkt's freighter. Nachkt had salvaged R2-D2 from the battlefield and promised him to Grievous in exchange for credits. The scavenger concealed R2-D2 from the Jedi and showed them his wares, but after R3-S6 activated several IG-86 sentinel droids, Skywalker and Tano fought and defeated the assassin droids. The Jedi left the Vulture's Claw, remaining unaware of Nachkt's arrangement with Grievous. (Read more…)
