So there's a border around the galaxy that also prevents it from being locked on to to travel through hyperspace in the Void. And there's somewhat of a border on the west side of the Deep Core. The Unknown Regions are at the edge of Wild Space (which is at the edge of the Outer Rim) at the fringes of the galaxy in the north, east, and south, and much of the west past the Deep Core, beyond the border. (Mostly from EA)
