My story in relation to Star Wars is pretty much the same most other fans:

I saw the movies when I was a kid and I've been a total fan ever since. The movies (both the old and prequel trilogy), combined with all of the EU stuff, and the devotion of countless fans are what make Star Wars one of the most popular stories of our time and it's definitely worth following.
