From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.
I joined this site because it has cool pictures and to talk freely about Star Wars, something I don't get a chance to do very often.
Some personal information first. I am a 20 year old Italian/German/Belgian/French/Dutch American male attending the UW Madison for Classical Humanities and Archeology. Basically studying ancient Roman and Greek culture and how to find out more about them. Other than Star Wars I like to sail, read, write, watch tv, hang out with friends, party, play poker. Pretty much an ordinary guy.
I am a VERY big Star Wars fan. It is my passion. I own over 90 of the novels and many of the reference books. Until you have read your 60th book I won't consider you a peer of mine as far as Star Wars knowledge goes. My friends call me the Jedi Master. I love to talk Star Wars but rarely get the opportunity. I have also played many of the games incuding both Knights of the Old Republic games which were awesome but upset me by using the name Darth for the Sith Lords. I always believed that this tradition was instituted by Darth Bane millenia later. In any case though they are good games. I have also played the Dark Forces games, Battlefront, and Rebellion.
I would say that I am most impressed with Kyp Durron more than any other character. His shear strength in the Force is enough to impress anyone I think. Afterall he is way stronger than Luke and Luke had to be relatively close to the level of Darth Vader in order to confront him. If Luke weren't close to Vader's level then there would have been no point in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda waiting for Luke to be old enough to challenge Vader. This means that Kyp is far and above even the level of Darth Vader which would make him by far the strongest Jedi of the period. I also feel that he has the right idea about things most of the time. He is a man of action and I like that. As much as I LOVE Luke I think in his later years he has become alittle too sedated. He lost his gungho attitude and his drive to save the galaxy and it seems as though Kyp has taken his place in that regard.
As strong as Kyp is I don't consider him to be the strongest Jedi ever. I would give that title to Exar Kun. I can't support this as well I can my oppinion of Kyp because it is almost impossible to compare Jedi from different eras. I suppose what impressed me most about Exar Kun is how he just casually waltzes into the Senate Hall on his enemy's capitol (presumable easily killing the countless guards and defenses he would have had to go through to get there), takes his apprentice out of their custody, kills his old master and the chancellor, and then casually walks out. It's like NO ONE could even make him break a sweat! Add to that that he would have taken over the galaxy easily if Ulic Qel-Droma hadn't betrayed him and the entire Jedi Order went to stop him. Plus I love his Sith amulet that makes him shoot a gigantic beam of Force Lightning rather than the thin bolts the Emperor can give off.
Characters I especially love are of course Kyp Durron and Exar Kun but also Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade, Garm Bel Iblis, Corran Horn, Ganner Rhysode, Jaina Solo, Saba Sebatyne, Tahiri Veila, Tenel Ka, Nomi and Vima Sunrider, Master Thon, Sylvar, Shoaneb Culu, and Grand Admiral Mit'thrawn'norodo. If I listed all the characters I liked the list would be way too long but these are the ones I love.
If I could fly any ship in the Expanded Universe it would be: a Chiss Clawcraft.
Command any capital ship: a Hapan Battle Dragon
Study with any Jedi Master: Master Thon
Construct any type of lightsaber: a dual phase lightsaber
Serve under any commander: General Garm Bel Iblis
Ride any creature: a rancor
Work for any outlaw: Talon Karrde
Live on any planet: Corellia
Control any superweapon: Centerpoint Station
