This is merely a possible suggestion of the sort of detail that may be warranted, other ideas for documentation might be suggested. Examples for each field could be beneficial. Bear in mind that many fields are universal across many infoboxes. A note to use {{Ref}} for references should also be included. In the (forthcoming) SH thread, I'm hoping that a group of willing users will write up the documentation for the boxes on the template pages which other users can then pick out errors/suggest changes to. As there are a few common fields (era and affiliation being the obvious ones), we might want to determine what goes in that field beforehand, then add it to all of them for consistency.

Example is based on {{Weapon}}. Any notes to clarify the wording/reasoning I've used are in ((brackets))
The following status (FA/GA) articles were used as precedent: Blastsword, Shikkar, Bane's Heart (lightsaber), Lumiya's lightwhip, EXP-7(a) Predator, GSI-21D, Incremental-sequence bomb, TC-22 blaster rifle, Tera Sinube's sabercane, Exar Kun's lightsaber, Icehead club.

• imageBG – Hexadecimal color code of the average color around the outer edge of the image. Only required if image's full width is less than 250px.
• image – Place corresponding image here, with a size parameter of 250px only if the image is wider than 250px.
• name – Name of the weapon, excluding parenthesis
• hidep – Place a 1 here if none of the following (manufacturer→value) fields are used.
  • manufacturer – Name of manufacturer, use a pipelink to actual article title if name differed at time. Use creator if specific person made weapon. ((eg. [[Czerka Arms|Czerka Corporation]]))
  • model – Model number, or specific variation of type (see below) ((such as a sabercane; in Naru's words: note it as a standard blade with an inherently badass hilt))
  • type – What type of weapon such as blaster, lightsaber, vibroblade etc
  • culture – Species, people, organisation etc from which the weapon originates/is prominently used in
  • creators – If weapon is created by specific individual(s), otherwise use manufacturer.
  • created – Date created
  • destroyed – Date destroyed/lost
  • discovered – Date found if lost/hidden
  • owners – List owners of weapon only if it is unique → per "Owners" field of the Weapon infobox
  • locations – Location used/found if weapon was only used in specific places, or if where weapon was hidden ((such as isolated planets etc))
  • cost – Cost, including currency if known
  • value – Abstract value, such as "not for sale" ((could even add metaphorical value?))
• hidet – Place a 1 here if none of the following (shape→markings) fields are used.
  • shape – "Shape" of weapon if it is particularly irregular. ((I could not find any status article that used this field))
  • size – If no specific dimensions are given; sourced, generalizing comparisons can be made here. ((can they?))
  • color – Color of weapon
  • material – Main material composition of weapon
  • length – Length if known, or if sourced comparison can be made
  • width – Width if known, or if sourced comparison can be made
  • diam – Diameter if known, or if sourced comparison can be made
  • height – Height if known, or if sourced comparison can be made
  • weight – Weight if known, or if sourced comparison can be made
  • protection – "Protection type", if weapon has properties that protect it from damage/use
  • capacity – Ammunition capacity
  • range – Effective range
  • inscription – Any inscription/names/etc made on weapon
  • markings – Markings, such as logos, on weapon
• hideu – Place a 1 here if none of the following (purpose→affiliation) fields are used.
  • purpose – Main and secondary functions/uses of weapon.
  • heritage – Heritage/origins of weapon (such as inherited items).
  • era – Publishing eras known to exist in (a weapon that has existed in two separate eras but not mentioned in an intermediate one should not have the intermediate era listed)
  • affiliation – List any organizations/parties that used the weapon.

Wizards of the Coast published many Star Wars web supplements on their website but these were taken down sometime around May 30 2010. Artist/Author/Editor comments - WP:KOTOREdit

Throughout the run of the KOTOR comics, threads were started on the Dark Horse Comics boards and TFN boards for each issue. The artists, editors and JJM sometimes comment on these with hidden tidbits of Bts goodness or clarification for chronology/identification/etc. I've trawled the two sites to find the elusive threads and listed them here with JJM's more-official Faraway Press blog comments. If you find any other threads relevant to the Bts of each issue, feel free to add it. Not all of them (like some of the earlier TFN ones) have VIP comments.
