About me
Edit
A bit about me: I'm male, 24 years old, Canadian, and love Star Wars, and most sci-fi in general. Most of my science-fiction is via more modern sources, but I've been trying to read some of the classics, starting with 2001: A Space Odyssey, Foundation, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and I, Robot. I'm also a fan of Star Trek, Stargate, Firefly/Serenity, and Buffy.
I'm huge into webcomics, and check the following ones daily:
If anyone knows of any other good ones, please put the link in my talk page and I'll have a look.
My username comes from one of the finalists of the Darth Who contest (which selected Darth Caedus to be Jacen Solo's Sith name). I picked it because I really liked the sound of it and hoped it would win, plus it sounded like it could be used in almost any era (including pre-Darth), and so in my fanfic Taral was a Sith Lord who gained a limited amount of power following the Great Sith War, but whose forces joined Malak's and suffered his fate. It also could be used ambiguously regarding gender, and as such in my fanfic Darth Taral is the Sith name I assigned to Tahiri Veila.
My collection
Edit
I have been actively collecting Star Wars printed material (comics, novels, Saga Edition sourcebooks, Essential Guides) for the past several years.

The Clone Wars
Edit
It seems to me that these days everyone is in a kerfuffle about The Clone Wars and how it's "destroying the canon". I respectfully disagree. I really enjoy the movie and tv series presently being published and look forward to seeing more when Season 3 starts this Fall. While I agree that there are some issues with the canon, I think a few modifications to the timeline and a bit of taking-things-with-a-grain-of-salt will make everything smooth and this entire community will collectively go "Oh, well I guess that makes sense then!" After all, is it important that Anakin was knights six months before Episode III? Not terribly, no. I have no objection to altering the timeline to reflect pre- vs. post-Knighthood. So far, I found only three issues that need to be resolved specifically that timeline condensation will not account for.
- Aurra Sing being in prison on Oovo IV in from early 22 BBY till late 19 BBY, but somehow affiliated with Cad Bane as of late 22 BBY.
- The ultimate fate of Ahsoka Tano.
- I have no problem retconning instances where Anakin was a Padawan into ones where he was a Knight (and had a variable hairstyle, and maybe "Padawan" was a fun nickname people gave him because of his youth?), but there may be problems when they specifically refer to recent or on-the-way Knighthood, such as in Jedi Trial or The Dreadnaughts of Rendili.
As for the Mandalorian issues, I maintain that it will all work out. The Mandalorian episodes in no way make the events of the Republic Commando books non-canon, nor do they imply that offshoots of Mereel's True Mandalorian faction (as the KT Mandalorians are, in all but name) cannot exist. Frankly, the Encyclopedia and the Atlas already started the process of retconning, so patience and leniency is called for.
So, in conclusion, I say enjoy The Clone Wars for what it is! An enjoyable show that won't ruin the canon, as long as we're patient.
