[edit] Tin Stars
- "Holy crap! Boba Fett and 2-1B are on some sort of adventure in 1920's Chicago!"
- ―BobaMatt on the Jedi Council Forums
Here we see the cover of and Isaac Asimov book called Tin Stars. Upon looking at this image, one sees a familiar face or two. On the right we see an image very similar to Ralph McQuarrie's early sketches of Boba Fett, wearing a brown leather treanchcoat and a hat, looking vaguely like Indiana Jones. Behind him, wielding a gun appears to be the Rebel's medical droid, 2-1B dressed in... a dinner jacket!?!? It is here that we see one of the many holy items of clothes, which sprung from the freakin' sweet Hat: 2-1B's bow tie.
It should be pointed out that both these characters on the cover were most likely intentionally made to look like Boba Fett and 2-1B, because it appears to have been published in 1986, six years after both of them made their big screen debuts.
But I'm writing this to do more then just point out the appearence of 2-1B's tie and a strange looking Fett (although I must admit that itself it fun). As BobaMatt said, it appears to be some sort of 1920s cheesy Chicago mystery staring Boba Fett and 2-1B. You know, the kind of story where the detective starts out in his office late one rainy night smoking a cigar when a dame walks in, etc. Now I'd like to make a radical proposition: Del Rey is in the process of making this untold chapter in the lives of Boba Fett and 2-1B. What upcoming release is set in a big city like Chicago? What upcoming release has a cheesy name, even for Star Wars? What upcoming release do we know so little about that it could star Boba and 2-1B? What upcoming release is set between Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope? The answer my friends, is this.
