| Vongchild, born on Earth sometime towards the end of the 20th century AD, never saw a Star Wars movie in theaters until episode 2 but grew up on a steady diet of science fiction movies and novels all the same. By all fair estimates, her obesession began at the age of seven. The year was 1998, and the world was riding high on a steady stream of Star Wars merchandise churned up by the release of Episode 1. Young Vongy had always been mystified by this mysterious "Star Wars" thing, but hadn't been allowed to watch it because her father felt it was "too scary."
So Vongy didn't see Episode 1 in theaters. Oh well. She got over it when she realized that Episode 1 wasn't the best of them. By the time she saw the originals in third grade, she knew every plot twist by heart, her own father having spoiled it for her by calling Vongy and her twin brother Luke and Leia on occasion. Vongy never quite forgave her father for this transgression and delved into the EU instead, developing a fascination with the Yuuzhan Vong in fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. Vongy is known to have a fondness for the character Nen Yim, thinking she is a ball of wasted potential on behalf of the NJO, and is even known to 'ship her with Jacen Solo. This 'ship, though being non-canon for sure seeing as the two never meet, is known as Janen and has a growing basis on theforce.net's fanfiction boards. Vongy is an avid reader and writer of fanfic. |
