Upload questionEdit

Hey, thanks for the heads up, but I am a bit unsure how to upload on here. This whole wikia seems strangulated by harsh rules, and as I am not too savvy with the source codes and such, I find it hard to keep up. Could you explain to me how to get - or if I am allowed to in the first place - that deleted picture of me back? Or just upload it again but this time within the 'rules'? I genuinely am just trying to upload a picture of myself on my profile so I was not expecting copyright stuff to come up. I mean, I took the picture with my camera and its the same I use for my facebook profile, so I thought such images were allowed. If you could help me on this one, I'd be very grateful. Thankyou. • To reupload it and avoid any further issues, go to the proper upload form, Special:Upload, fill in the source, which can be something like "self-taken," select a license from the drop-down menu, and fill in the description, which should include the {{User-image}} template. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 20:41, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

Evram LajaieEdit

Hello Culator, it would appear that you have access to the Star Wars Encyclopedia, if memory serves with my Cabbel GAN. Could you give me Evram Lajaie's entry? Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 03:28, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

  • "Lajaie, Commander Evram A popular Alliance leader, he possessed expertise in space defense and orbital battle stations that enabled him to quickly analyze the plans for the first Death Star. After careful analysis, Evram Lajaie discovered a fatal flaw that made it possible for Luke Skywalker to destroy the battle station. (CCG)" -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:39, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Howdy Darth Culator,

I am in disagreement with your judgement that there are no grammatical errors on the Squib article . The grammar errors are that of the constant use of past tenses in each sentence as if the Squibs are extinct when there are clear descriptions (typed in past tense) that place the Squibs well into, and beyond, the Luke Skywalker era.

Is there a reason for all the past tense?

Mon Calamari Space mapEdit

Hi Culator. Could you please try and get a better resolution scan of this map from page 208 of The Essential Atlas? I particularly need the scan to include Chiron at the bottom of the map. Cheers. --Eyrezer 09:17, May 21, 2012 (UTC)

Unused imageEdit

Hey Culator. File:Tython tor concept.jpg was deleted for being unused, but it was in use on Tython (there's a redlink image in the Flora and fauna section). Just wanted to let you know. - Brandon Rhea@Wikia(talk) 21:59, May 23, 2012 (UTC)

  • Wasn't in use at the time. If someone didn't use it properly or tag it properly, that's not my fault. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 22:05, May 23, 2012 (UTC)
    • Alright. Someone must have removed it around that time, since it had been on the page for a good long while. No big deal, though. Mind if I re-upload and re-add? - Brandon Rhea@Wikia(talk) 22:08, May 23, 2012 (UTC)
      • Oh, sure. You may want to use a different filename, though. The cache servers seem to be flipping out on replacing files the last few days. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 22:30, May 23, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Culator,

Due to some evidence of official recognition brought forth about the Polish street, I've amended Wookieepedia:Trash compactor/Star Wars streets to only be about the Vegas streets. Just letting everyone who's voted know. Menkooroo 01:00, May 24, 2012 (UTC)

Re: UploadsEdit

Yeah, sorry. I went on that page because I hadn't been there yet, and I saw the image link was broken. I just assumed that it wouldn't be that way if a photo existed.

technically wrong, when cade gets more free passes then i do just because im new, thats faulty logic and you know it.. you know very well cade attacked me personally by calling me a "dipshit" i simply changed it to "cade is a.." and in my reply not once did i say any hurtful thing or swear, ergo when he changed the title to intelligble you didnt care cause oh "she added the section case is a…" ergo i kinda do… also knowing regulations and reasoning only a… well you i guess would block someone with neither a PROPER "timelimit" which is KEY, trust me it is having been admin on other sites before… and a warning for a first time offender that didnt even "attack" anyone until provoked which even then i didnt all i did was change the title of the section… also fi im blocked again for making these innocent arguements (not insults or even swears" in them then i really must question this sites admins (or atleast you) seeing as even green tentacle gives warnings… dont take offense to this by the way im just trying to understand why cade gets a free pass and not even a warning :/ i dont like when other users are treated better than new comers…

is this was for the star wars edit thing by the way, you didnt say that only that i "attacked" cade which i didnt until he did (and even then i only changed the title)

i admit in my reply i might have had a aggressive tone but thats just how i seem :/ Ultimate Law of Kaitlyn

  • Honestly, if Cade seems to be getting any "free passes," which he really isn't, it might be because he uses proper English spelling and grammar. We really like that around here. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 07:11, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

lol woooooooooooooow you really went there… huh? when did this discussion turn around and be about grammar? plus i spelt good, or are you saying i didnt use the widest range of vocabulary which is different ? XD as for grammar ya i guess but lol i only use good grammar when im actually editing articles, but wow you just sounded massively stuck up right there… but fine :/ ignore my reply and the actual points but as so you just admited if he got any free passes its because all you people care about is the respect from his edits on the wiki… if he wasnt getting a free pass youd atleast give him a warning (which id accept even if i got blocked still, being injustice but atleast hed get a warning) but wow sorry you just took me out of my mind when you brought up grammar…………………..

you just… had to go there huh :/

you guys should try being more hospitable towards newbies :/ because you obviously scared me off with that attitude… ps: as for any possible spelling errors if i made any, they are typos at best, im not typing out random words that i dont know so my spelling is pretty solid, its just my grammar when i talk apparently that you find lame(?) lol Ultimate Law of Kaitlyn 07:25, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Eh… if it turns out the new content becomes available before 10/25, I'll get worried. Until then, might as well just leave it (also, if it turns out we're previewing the content, there should be a suitable note in the attribution) Enochf 16:13, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

  • Your question is not specific enough for me to give a useful answer. We have many types of forms. We have an upload form at Special:Upload. We have a whole category full of lightsaber forms. Our resident javascript wizard whips up AJAX forms for things like IRC cloak registration. What kind of forms are you talking about? -- Darth Culator (Talk) 02:30, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

JS pagesEdit

Hey Culator. /global.js only works from Community Central. To load a script locally in monobook, you can put it in /monobook.js. :) Cheers, grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 16:12, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

    • Since you're here, is there any way to have both types of purge buttons, the fancy new AJAX one and the old linky one? I was trying to pull that off earlier without realizing I was doomed from the start. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 16:15, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
      • Wait, never mind, I see what you were saying now about opening the link in a new tab. Now, to migrate all this to my central userpage… Thanks! -- Darth Culator (Talk) 16:19, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

I can't seem to access any forums on either monobook or the new wiki look. Whenever I manage to get there, it says the page does not exist. I found the archive for all the forums, and clicked on a random topic, and that too displays a page saying the content had never existed. Is it just my account that's doing this? Anyways, in short, there are no forums any more for my account. Thanks, 501st dogma(talk) 17:04, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

  • As much as I would love to delete the forums, that would be too massive an undertaking for me and my bot to accomplish alone. (Rather, someone would have tried to stop me in the two days since your last forum edit, which is still visible on your contributions.) Everyone is currently unable to access the forums, because Wikia screwed them up. They're aware of the problem and we're waiting for them to fix it. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 17:24, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

TOR search string query thingEdit

Hey Culator; am I right in thinking you can do text searches of the TOR game files? If so, could I request a search of the term "Gree", but in relation to the planet itself, not the species? Or, if that's not possible, just any reference to the Gree will do and I can sort out the specifics myself. Thanks in advance. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 14:07, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

Some random thingEdit

Why was my page deleted? I'm new to Wookieepedia and unsure as how to use things but the move is in the books by Karen Traviss and her two counterparts titled Legacy of the Force.

Abuse filters and how to make themEdit

On another wiki, I had inadvertently volunteered my services for making an abuse filter. In a discussion involving how to deter people from uploading files called "Images01.jpg" or "bhdsj bc.jpg" or "37284728.jpg" or even "!.jpg," I suggested that an abuse filter be created that would block the upload of such images until the uploader changes the file name to something other than "P.gif" but I don't know how to make an abuse filter. I assume that it would involve a blacklist, and if any file name starts with anything in that blacklist, then the upload would be throttled and a message displayed telling the uploader to change the filename to something more descriptive.

That said… how do I make an abuse filter? I'm toying with the idea of using it for SWFanon as well, as I've seen more than a few dozen "Image-1.jpg" be uploaded and I'm quite frankly sick of nondescript file names. Trak Nar Ramble on 04:22, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Duel on the Temple of the AncientsEdit

Galactic TimelineEdit

Hello DarthCulator, I understand both you and Toprawa cleansed the Galactic Timeline (years) a few years back, deleting several articles. I have to wonder…why were they deleted? Was it because of being unsourced? Well just to let you know that I await an answer as I intend to revive those articles, this time complying with Wookie procedures and requirements. Winterz (talk) 16:48, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

  • Another thing came up. I searched and noticed you are the last active member owning a Star Wars Adventure Journal 7, I must ask you with emergency to check it out for a creature named Grizel indicating which section does it belong to. Thanks in advance. Winterz (talk) 23:49, August 18, 2012 (UTC)

1: Yes, those articles were deleted for being unsourced. If you can recreate them within proper standards then feel free, but your failure to spell "Wookiee" correctly does not fill me with confidence. 2: Don't edit comments like you just did. It's disruptive and dumb. 3: There's no such thing as a sourcing emergency, and I'll look things up when I damn well feel like it. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 01:19, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

  • Argh, there's no need to be so aggressive. It was clearly a request, which I decided to prioritize for myself, I wasn't 'demanding' anything of you. Some fail the "Kashyyyk", others fail the "Wookiee", I'm one of those that fail the last, so what? It's not like I'm asking for your friendship, I'm simply asking for your help in a common interest, which is to improve the Wookieepedia in overall terms. You know what, forget it. I'll find someone else more amiable. P.S. I'm sorry that you misunderstood me and thought I was trying to rush the aid out of you, that wasn't my intention. (Also, modifying what I incorrectly wrote isn't dumb or disruptive at all) Winterz (talk) 04:37, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Changing one request to a completely different request (from a Flandorian flower in Star Wars Adventure Journal 8 to a grizel in Star Wars Adventure Journal 7) without adding a new comment is more than a simple correction, and if I really felt like being "aggressive" then you wouldn't even be able to reply any further, so I suggest you quit while you're behind. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 15:27, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Here's the first attempt and some examples. The formatting could probably use some tweaking so let me know any changes you want and I'll pick it up tomorrow. Green Tentacle (Talk) 21:26, August 22, 2012 (UTC)

  • GT, that's fantastic. As far as I'm concerned, it's ready to go. It even does exactly what I was thinking with the archive vs. original links. Thank you. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 15:00, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
    • Have another look at the test pages. It now takes a substring of the archive parameter. If it starts with http://, it treats it as an external link; otherwise the link is assumed to be the name of a file on Wookieepedia (minus the File: prefix) and an internal link is added. Green Tentacle (Talk) 17:13, August 25, 2012 (UTC)
      • Just want to note that that setup will fail if someone uses a secure (https://) URL. —MJ— Training Room Saturday, August 25, 2012, 17:31 UTC
        • Changed to look at the first four characters. Just don't upload any images starting with "http". Green Tentacle (Talk) 17:42, August 25, 2012 (UTC)

Keyan FarlanderEdit

Why did you revert my edit on Keyan Farlander? DarthRevan1173 (Long live Lord Revan) 23:01, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

  • Because it was removing perfectly valid information that was presented in an acceptable format. X-wing was Farlander's first actual appearance, retcons notwithstanding. To say that Episode IV was his first appearance is deceptive to the reader. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 14:22, August 25, 2012 (UTC)

Head to Head bookEdit

Okay, do you know of anybody who has that book in their posession? Star Wars the clone wars head to head. Im not a pirate, I just want like a book review, jeez. 04:44, August 25, 2012 (UTC)

  • What you asked for was "character match-ups, ALL character stats, and of course the victor" with "ALL" in caps, so basically you were asking for the entire contents of the book, not just a review. And honestly, I have no idea who might have a copy. The history of the book's article has very few editors, and very few pages link to it, so it doesn't appear to be very widespread. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 14:22, August 25, 2012 (UTC)

Not that I wanted to come here, but anyways, I was unsure where to report technical problems so will do it here as I understand you have programming knowledge, dealing with the scripts and all. I've noticed that these two articles, James Mason and Jay Laird, are considered Orphan pages even though they're linked to a third article, Do or Do Not, for a month now. So well I think this is possibly a "bug" and someone might be interested in looking into it, if not well then it's not even my role, you do as you like, just though it could be important to report it. Winterz (talk) 16:11, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

  • None of those articles had been edited for at least six months, so it could be some kind of database lag. I did a minor edit to each of them to poke the database, but the orphaned pages list only updates once every 24 hours. If they still show as orphaned after the next refresh, I'll contact Wikia. Thank you for reporting this. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 17:32, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

ANH screenshotsEdit

Hey there, Darth! JangFett said here that you could get screenshots from blu ray edition of the Star Wars movies. A New Hope to be specific. I got these two—first at 1h 01min 05sec, the second 1h 53min 51sec—screenshots from my dvd version and I wondered if you could get them in higher quality. I need at least one of them for my Hand of Judgment FAN project. Both of the pictures have seen a lot of cropping to cut out all the unnecessary and in this case unwanted people. Deleted pictureEdit

Hey there,

Could you re-upload this picture? I'm not sure why it was deleted without me being noticed. If it wasn't properly sourced, you could have just asked me to address the issue.

Thanks in advance. Alexrd (talk) 16:51, October 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • The issue is that unless an image labeled as "promotional" is very obviously some alternate version (advance media release, printed on paper, ultra-high-res, etc.) of a frame directly from the film, it needs to have some verifiable source other than the film itself. If you can provide a source, the image can easily be undeleted. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 16:05, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
    • Sure. My point is that if there was an issue, you could have just asked me to rectify. It doesn't benefit anyone simply deleting the image without any warning. As for the source, it came from The Phantom Menace - Pepsi Style Guide. Alexrd (talk) 17:15, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
      • We don't have a page for that, and I can't find any reference to that title or several variations thereof with Google. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 17:49, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
        • Proably not, it's exclusive press material. You can find some of the content on one of these: [1] Alexrd (talk) 18:50, October 10, 2012 (UTC)

So, could you re-upload it?

Thanks in advance. Alexrd (talk) 17:02, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

By request, I wanted to briefly talk to you about and try to ease your concerns over me and the AbuseFilter. I have zero intention of making any substantive changes to the filters on my own other than what there's already consensus for (i.e. handling reports at Wookieepedia:Spamfilter problems). The only other way in which I might do something unilaterally is if I see a way to reduce false positives or false negatives without hindering the intended functionality of the filter, and even that is likely to be discussed with at least one other admin first. Any other substantive changes would be discussed with at least several admins first, if not the community at large as I did at the Mofference (and yes, I would have gone to the community there even if I was already an admin at that time). Also, I just looked over the current list of filters, and I see none at this time that I have any issues with that I would want to change. Let me know if you have further concerns or want to discuss further. Thanks. —MJ— Jedi Council Chambers Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 19:02 UTC

Concerning "Decisions of one" and related articlesEdit

I don't bother whether you like me or not. Earnestly, now, could you have a look at all those articles around the novel "Decisions of one"? In my opinion, there is alot of fandom there. Quite a lot. Only fyi, no pun intended. You may resolve it or not. --Riverworld (talk) 04:18, October 17, 2012 (UTC)

Tech questionEdit

Hello DarthCulator. I've noticed in two CANs, Green/Aura and Green/Besh, that they're connected to the 'prefix' Green. While in most cases the / applies as a way to specify that something is related (or part of) to its prefix article, it really isn't this time. For that, I wanted to ask you if there's any code or something that would disable the 2 CANs connection to Green in the articles' body (by that, I mean making the "< Green" disappear). Thanks in advance. Winterz (talk) 18:56, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

  • Not that I know of, but that is a good idea. I'll have our JavaScript/CSS gurus look into it. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 14:52, October 21, 2012 (UTC)

Senate HallEdit

Honestly, I don't know if it is among the administrator's duties to make fun of issues posted by lower-level users to the Senate Hall. The topic that I issued is 100% serious, and I consider it as an improvement possibility to the site. If you do not agree, at least, please do not make fun out of it. Thank you.--XXLVenom998 (talk) 17:09, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

  • And as a possible "improvement" to the site, I'm treating the idea with all the seriousness I believe it merits. If the idea can't withstand discussion, then it doesn't go any further. The proposer sometimes has little control over the direction that discussion takes. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 19:23, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

Annihilation page countEdit

Um, excuse me, I have a copy of the physical book and it has 316 pages in it, so you’re the one who needs to be a little more cautious with their “facts”. With you being an administrator, you should know that the websites for Barnes & Noble’s and Amazon have page counts that are estimates.--Darth Revanon (talk) 05:15, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

Culator, I want to express my thanks for all the support you've given me not only on the RFB nomination, but since I first started editing on Wookieepedia. I've grown and learned a lot from your example over the years, and it's pretty frightening to think where Wookieepedia and all of us would be without your daily presence. Tremendous thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 06:00, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Culator. How're ya doing? I have a request for you.

Since we've now reached 100,000 articles, I'm planning on writing an article for Wookieepedia NewsNet reflecting on how we got this far by looking back at the earliest days of the Wook. To that end, I'm contacting as many of the oldest (unflattering term, I know. Sorry) Wookieepedians as possible and asking them to chime in.

This is (intentionally) a pretty broad question, but I'm wondering if you can tell me about your early experiences on the Wook and your impressions of what the site was like during its first couple years. Something longer than a soundbite but shorter than a short story, since I'm hoping to quote as many people as I can. Humor and wit are of course encouraged. If you're interested, go nuts, and if you're not, no worries. Thanks, and have a good day! Menkooroo (talk) 15:38, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • I joined up with Wookieepedia a few months after it was founded, and immediately started posting speculation and excessively flowery prose just like everyone was doing. We didn't have inline references, we barely even had the appearances and sources sections, and we were LUCKY to have them. To get anything deleted, you had to walk eight miles in the snow, uphill both ways! We voted to delete what we would now tag as obvious fanon, and fanart would sit on the "images for deletion" page to wait for some nebulous consensus to delete. We had never heard of bots or scripts or automated editing tools, and none of our spam or abuse filters had even been invented. In short, it was a mess compared to the massive operation it is now. And even back then it was still the best damn thing that had ever happened to Star Wars fandom. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 08:21, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
    • That, my friend, is wonderful. Thanks so much. Menkooroo (talk) 08:28, January 14, 2013 (UTC)

Tokkat & WunkaEdit

File:TokkatAndWunka-DE1.jpg Hey Culator, wondering if you can confirm where the original speculation came from that this is Tokkat & Wunka? Was it your own or did you find mention somewhere else on the interwebs? Rokkur Shen (talk) 15:57, January 19, 2013 (UTC)

  • Since those were the only Ewoks depicted in the comic, it was a basic logical deduction to infer that the mentions in Gamer 9 and GATORW referred to them. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 07:40, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
    • Okay, thanks for the clarification that it was an assumption. Should I go ahead and remove mention of this them from Tokkat and Wunka as well as correct the subtitle for the image? Rokkur Shen (talk) 08:09, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
      • No, it should be left in the behind the scenes section where it belongs, per WP:ATT 2.2. It's simple math. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 08:20, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
        • I don't have access to those sources and the articles themselves do not explain the connection with Gamer 9 and Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds so I do not really understand. Is there another article here on Wookieepedia that explains your reasoning behind this? Rokkur Shen (talk) 08:28, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Culator; I was wondering if you had access to a Hyperspace copy of Slaying Dragons like you did for Firepower? Wikia AlliancesEdit

I wanted to let you know about Wikia's Alliances program. It's a fun new initiative that lets wikis choose to be part of three alliances: SciFi Galaxy, Heroes United, and Fantasy Fellowship. The details can be found here and you can sign up here! We would love it if Wookieepedia would participate! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey Darth Culator, do you think I could become an admin? I am an admin on the Brand New and Remade Star Wars Answers Wiki, and the Viva Pinata wiki. Please respond soon.Wolf Screech (talk) 21:47, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

  • Look at the requirements here, look at the contributions of our two newest administrators on the dates they were nominated here and here versus your own current contributions here, and then you tell me. Perhaps someday in the future, after a lot of work, but not today. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 02:10, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Recent Upload - Faytonni.jpgEdit

Hey Culator, just caught one of your recent uploads. Is the character wearing the fur shawl left of Dannl Faytonni unidentified? Rokkur Shen (talk) 03:49, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

  • Recent? That's from 2011. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:50, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
  • Err...well it showed up in the side panel of the wikia skin that's how I noticed it. Anyway, that still doesn't answer my question. Rokkur Shen (talk) 03:58, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

File renamingEdit

Thanks. Is that a policy proposal or is it official? Stake black msg 18:43, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

  • Neither one is a policy. Admins are the only ones who can move files, and there are only about five of us who ever bother to do it, so we just created a system that works. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 18:45, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
    • I meant the idea of adding the source's acronyms to the file name. Stake black msg 18:51, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Culator, do you think you could promote me to admin or beuracrat status? I am working on a lot of Old Republic stuff cause I finally got the Old Republic Encyclopedia. I am an admin on the Viva Pinata wiki and admin on the Wookieeanswers/StarWars answers wiki. Leave a message on my talk page please.Wolf Screech (talk) 00:45, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

  • Did you even bother reading my last reply to you? That's not how things work here. I had previously given you the benefit of the doubt, but now it's clear that was a mistake. Now I am forced to question whether you possess the mental capacity to tie your shoes, let alone be promoted to any level of responsibility on a real wiki. Maybe after you've been an "admin" on your little backwater wikis for a few years, you'll have the technical aptitude to operate a toaster, and I might reevaluate my appraisal of you. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 02:19, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
  • Frankly there was no reply from my last message. I think you deleted it. By the way Viva Pinata and Wookieeanswers is a not "a backwater wiki" as you call it. I was the one that was one of the few only people doing serious work. I didn't mention it but I'm a crat on Viva Pinata. And Wookieeanswers Primarch Dysley remade the wiki and it is now a serious wiki.Wolf Screech (talk) 14:58, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
    • His first answer is literally two inches up on the screen, just below your first question. And your "working on a lot of Old Republic stuff" would be you copying directly from the Encyclopedia, which is why all of your edits have been reverted. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 15:21, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

What the freaking rules. Why do they have to be so hard!!!Wolf Screech (talk) 16:31, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

  • That doesn't really help. But please rethink the rules. You should look at the Wookieeanswers page, application. Their way of becoming admin and crat I think is way better. Wolf Screech (talk) 18:33, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
  • Now I get it. You just said that to cheer me up. I guess I've got NO shot at this. So if you try to convince me otherwise, you can bet I won't listen.Otherwise I know that if you change admin requirements, someone will probably just change it back and block me.Wolf Screech (talk) 18:42, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
    • I'm sorry for intervening (especially when I know Darth Culator likes to have fun with the likes of you), but I have to ask, @Wolf Screech, why do you want admin? What do you hope to achieve once you have it? And why would adminship be more easy? You should ask yourself these questions beforehand. Winterz (talk) 19:31, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

What the hell?Edit

That was totally uncalled for. Rokkur Shen (talk) 08:26, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

FAN page reviewingEdit

Hey, Culator,

Per the discussion at the recent INQ meeting 55, I've just now gone and left personalized talk page messages to a whole whack of users, asking them to review more on the FAN page. I went for people who review a lot on the GAN page, people who nominate FANs but never review others' work, and more --- hopefully we'll be able to kick-start a reviewing revolution.

With that said, I believe I'd be remiss if I didn't extend the appeal to the Inquisitorius, as well. I'm not trying to single any one person out, and to emphasize that point, I'm leaving the exact same message on every INQ member's talk page rather than personalizing them like I did with the non-INQ mesages. Every INQ member save five, that is, and those five members have been reviewing FANs frequently enough that they don't need any sort of push like this. Everyone other than those five INQs, yourself included, has reviewed less than twelve FANs since the beginning of July. A few meetings ago, we agreed on eight FAN reviews per month as a good number for which to strive. I've now encouraged a large number of non-INQs to review more frequently, and the Inquisitorius as a whole should be actively participating in that revolution if not leading it. So, as an INQ, please review FANs more often. Cheers, and have a great day! Menkooroo (talk) 08:13, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Decipher Star Wars Customizable Card Game full page protection?Edit

Culator, I had originally approaced User:Master Jonathan with this as he was the last admin to edit the Star Wars Customizable Card Game page. However, he informs me that as you were the admin who originally protected the page and as per the administrative autonomy policy you are the one I should be approaching. I realise that, for whatever reason, we've gotten off on the wrong foot. For my part: sorry. Please do me the courtesy of hearing me out however.

Upon digging through some old links I stumbled across this:

I thought it may we worthwhile adding to the Star Wars Customizable Card Game page as part of the "Behind the scenes" section as it involves cancelled sets that were officially announced yet never released. Some of these sets/test cards have even started showing up for sale on ebay etc recently which is what drew my attention and prompted me to do some digging. It appears that these sets are not the non-canon virtual sets but actually play-testing/pre-release cards that were never mass produced due to Decipher's loss of license. Looking through the page history however, I found the Star Wars Customizable Card Game page has been fully protected for some time due to a dispute involving a user who has been inactive for at least 3 months now. Would it be possible to revise this page back to semi-protection? I have been working on a number of CCG related articles and continue to stumble across new info via Is it possible to prevent the troublesome user/users from editing that specific page? Thanks for your time. Rokkur Shen (talk) 04:45, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Image SourcingEdit

Thanks for pointing that out. Was my first image upload and the form/instructions are not all that clear. Rokkur Shen (talk) 01:17, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

Dear Darth Culator, While I am rather new to the Wookieepedia website, I have participated in a number of other wikis in the past. I am not looking for any "special statous", I am simply seeking to participate in Wookieepeida in a larger way. My credentials include the following:

Father ran all Star Wars movies at theater. Owner of original Star Wars Theatrical Posters & Relese books. Owner of Star Wars library totaling over 300 some books. Star Wars Fan

As I have stated before, I am not looking to be an administrator, as, after reading the various informational sources about it, it requires having worked on Wookieepedia for more than a years time, however, I do wish to participate more actively. I have, today, mainly worked on the cleanup of the website and unfortunetly, found a number of vandalized pages and pages that glorified Star Wars charachters that did not even exsist. As a result, I was wondering if there was any position lower than an administrator that I could use to deal with the vandalists or any position that I could use to better prevent such things. I have filled out you necessary questionarre, below, to better further why I would be apt to take on such a task.

Why do you want to become an administrator?

Well, I do not necessarily want to become an administrator in this case, however, I wish to take a more active role because I feel that the Star Wars Franchise, its subsidiaries and its work is worth sharing with the world, and I feel that I would benefit as well as others, from having a chance at sharing my knowledge with all. I also feel that it is important to uphold policies and would like to do so with such power.

In your opinion, what is the role of an administrator?

To serve, protect, edit and delete vandalized, invalid or potentially unwanted information from Wookieepedia. There purpose is to make Wookieepedia the best that it can be. In your view, do administrators hold a technical or political position?

In my view, a techinical position, if this were to be a political monopoly then where would all the fun go. There purpose is to utalize there knowledge of Star Wars and its franchise and use that to ensure that all information is canon and correct.

How do you feel admins should use their power/stand in comparison with other users?

I think it should be used sparingly. It should be used to protect and control, not delete and waste. It should only be used to make Wookieepedia better.

Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

I have not had any particular conflicts as I am realitively new. If I am to have a conflict, I would began by

Of your articles or contributions to Wookieepedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?

I enjoyed editing the "Sadari Royal Palace" article, which I continue to edit with. I just thought it was a lot of fun. I viewed the same Clone Wars episode 7 times to get the information exact.

What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with?

Cleanup, in particular and regulating vandalisim. The law rules, of course!

How important is it for you to be involved in things such as CT, FA, GA, and other community-centered items that involve discussion and voting? Very important. Public Relations and the vote of the people are what make the people great. Without it, power will overtake the minds of all. And then what will we be, simply working to "Learn to use the dark side of the force"~Sideous

Do you think admins performing actions (I.e. deletions, blocks, etc.) for reasons not covered on policy should be sanctioned/punished? If so, how? Yes, if an administrator wastes or misuese there power, they do so deserve to be punished and in a way such as stripping them of there power for a certain period of time, if it is a serious offense, forever.

What is your policy, if any, of welcoming new users? Should you welcome a new user, do you look at his/her contributions beforehand? What about anonymous IPs?

Being a newer user myself, I feel that we should welcome them. What if George Lucas became a new user, would we welcome him, of course! I feel that if one has the drive and motivation to work hard and contribute well, then new users are great. However, anonymous IPs can be robots, but, if they make good contributions, well, thats ok to.

How would you react if someone undeleted an article you'd mistakenly speedied? Under what circumstances would you consider it appropriate to undelete an article mistakenly speedied by another administrator, if any, and how would you approach this task?

Firstly, I would respond and ask the other for a valid reason why it is deemed appropriate to be undeleted. Then, I would ask the fellow adminstrator why he deleted an article. Always ask before taking action.

How would you react if your user page was vandalized? Under what circumstances would you block the offender? Is there anything else that you would do in this situation?

I would be quite angry, however, it is important to maintain an air of professionalisim when in the workplace and I would simply request that the user in question be blocked, punished or removed.

Under what circumstances would you consider blocking an established user?

Vandalizing articles, misuse of policys, misuse of administrative power, disgracing Kyle Katarn.

If you could change any one thing about Wookieepedia, what would it be?

Make being able to take an active part(administrator, burecrat) more available and easier.

Would you look at a glass to be half-empty or half-full?

Half-Full, always.

Do you feel the current blocking policy is too restrictive, not restrictive enough, or OK as it is?

Not restrictive enough. Users who vandalize are not welcome in my book.

Have you ever considered becoming a regular visitor to the Wookieepedia IRC chat? How do you feel about people who already have some influence on other Star Wars communities (TheForce.Net, trying to change policies here?

In my opinion, the policy was established by Wookieepedia users. If the so called "stars" of other websites disaggree with it, they should tell us why and if the reasons are poor/falsified, then there should be no policy changes. I have considered becoming a regular visitor and plan to join soon.

How many clones do you think fought in the Clone Wars? (Note: You are wrong no matter what answer you give.)

The answer is insurmontable. So if I am wrong, so be it.

Who is the most awesome Jedi of all time? (Note: The only correct answer is Kyle Katarn.)

Well, Kyle Katran is quite cool, however, I favor Tera Sinube. His lessons of patience are quite true.

What's more important to you: consensus or policy?

Policy, if a policy was created, it is here for a reason.

Have you had any previous leadership experience (in your community, on the web, etc.)?

Yes, I have lead an FPS team, been team captain in a number of community events, run two wikis privately "Newhart Wiki" & The "Harvard Wiki"

What is your attitude towards users who have quit the site or have been banned, but still continue to attempt to influence the site in any way? If there reason for being blocked was valid, they should not be allowed to influence the site. If there reason was invalid, perhaps their case should be examined again.

What is your wiki philosophy? To always uphold policy, prevent vandalisim and preserve the truth.

Again, I ask that you consider this as a questioning as to weather or not I may take a more active role in Wookieepeida. I thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, --Lambgrams22 (talk) 22:18, February 17, 2013 (UTC)Lambegrams22--Lambgrams22 (talk) 22:18, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

  • Well, you seem like a nice enough fellow, but you're jumping the gun a bit. Inq reviewing tutorialEdit

Hey Culator. As per discussion at Inq Meeting 56, I've started to write a draft for what will eventually become the Inquisitorius' tutorial guide for new reviewers. It can be accessed here. I haven't had as much time as I would like to work on it recently, so there are still some sections that have yet to be written, but I've started off with trying out some basic organization with the current sections. Please feel free to jump in, either by writing new stuff for the guide or commenting on/adjusting what's already there.

Every current member of the Inq will eventually have to approve the guide in its entirety, so getting involved with its development would be great, sooner rather than later. The talk page can be used to discuss ideas about organization, sectioning, content, you name it. Let me know if you have any questions, and your contributions are appreciated! Hey Culator, bit of a long shot here. I'm doing some work on stuff from the Star Wars Gamemaster Kit and came upon the 3-2-XR repulsorlift sled with an image from the Far Orbit Project. Now, I went through the Far Orbit Project and can't find a reference to the 3-2-XR in relation to that image, but I noticed that you added the identification of the 3-2-XR to the image upload back in 2009. Any chance you can remember where the information came from? As I said, bit of a long shot considering its almost four years ago, but any help would be appreciated. - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 08:32, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

StarWizardWars's blockEdit

Hi, what's up? I was earlier on this wikia on another computer and I found out that I'd been banned by u for a reason that I didn't understand, but then when I came onto MY computer, I wasn't blocked. Could you please explain this cause I don't understand it? StarWizardWars. I'm not attempting to abuse you when I leave this message but I'm just really confused about this, but if you don't know then I'll just have to assume that it's just one of those things that happen in life or something like that then.

Actually, you know what? It doesn't matter, I don't care I'm not gonna ask you guys any more questions cause you just get your names on my abuse log for some reason and I'm not a derp nor am I an idiot. And why'd you put your name on my abuse log just for asking you a question cause I was confused. WTF?!? You know what? Screw it. I doesn't matter anymore to me cause your just gonna put your name on my abuse log for no reason at all. Darth VillainsForever.

An Important Message Regarding Darth MuscareEdit

Hello, Darth Culator. Now, before you disregard this message, I know you have been looking for a way to shut down Darth Muscare for good. Another thing, I have found Darth Muscare, aka, Edward Muscare, on Uncyclopedia. He is currently an admin there, working under the name SPIKE. So, anyways. I am a IRC regular, for #uncyclopedia, and I had, a month or so ago, had my nick stolen on IRC. Who stole it? None other than Darth Muscare, the same person, who sent nude pictures of himself four years ago, to none other than you. Now, what I am requesting, is that SPIKE, on uncyclopedia, be not only de-admined, but also, banned from all wikia sites. I really want your help, as I feel insecure, that he might be trying to pull me into a sexual relationship of some sort. Anyways, I was given all this information by the user, piequals3, and, I have some linking evidance too. However, you would need to contact me for it. Now, if you have further questions, I am availible at the uncyc fork, as user:DungeonSiegeAddict510 ( I apologixe for the silly user page, you can query me in talk) or on the Freenode irc channel, #Tropesnmore. If you want better info, I reccomend the IRC method. I will be availible there on saturday. use , and use the freenode server to get on. Use a nick similar to Darth Culator. I will hace some permutation of Denza, in my nick.--ThatanosAetherwing (talk) 07:55, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

I think that I may have come off as Muscare, however, I am not. I would have left you alone, however, Darth Muscare has recently used my account to try to rid himself of the accusations. I need help soon. If I am helped quickly, I will never need to bother anyone here again. He threatens to do something worse, as stated in the irc logs:

22:45:59Denza252You know too much. 22:46:02Denza252Your time is almost up. 22:46:08Denza252Prepare for your end. 22:46:10Denza252Goodbye. He posts/threatens me under my old nick Denza252. I won't lie, I feel scared for my security, so I ask that you please help me. --ThatanosAetherwing (talk) 06:37, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

Hi there! So, I was working on interlanguage wiki links on my home wiki, the RuneScape Wiki. Since I'm working with a multitude of links on there, I was thinking adopting your Template:Interlang. I had a quick question. Since it's an override for the default interwiki format of MediaWiki, do you have do anything with the site's js or css to get it to work, or is it just "adopt the template and go"? Thanks! — Blaze fire12 (talk) 23:11, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Image policyEdit

Hey Culator, sorry about that. I was asked to choose some images for Special:Promote so Wookieepedia could go up on, as part of our rotating mix of wikis that are showcased. I haven't used that tool before so I wasn't aware that the images would get uploaded to the wiki. Otherwise I would have sourced them; we use the same image template/policy on Star Wars Fanon, so I'm right with you on using that for images here. I'll re-upload them with proper sourcing, per the image policy. Thank you for letting me know about that, I'll be more careful next time. - Brandon Rhea@Wikia(talk) 23:50, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Image revertEdit

Hey, Culator. Any chance I could get File:Capture.jpg reverted back to its 2008 version? It used to be a picture of Shmi being attacked by Sand People, but a book cover was mistakenly uploaded over it. Menkooroo (talk) 23:53, June 27, 2013 (UTC)

Inter-wiki assistanceEdit

Allow me to get right to the point, Wikianswers needs help. We are understaffed and need help from wikis who can answer questions.

Since this is the Star wars wiki, i came here looking for experts who are willing to help reduce the number of questions that need answered.

Ill post a link to the list of Star wars questions, if you are any users want to help, we would be most grateful.

Thanks and happy editing.-Cheatcodechamp (talk) 20:29, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

Closing TcEdit

Hey DC, can we just close this Tc? It was proposed by an admin, seconded by another, and I also put my agreement in. Is this something that you can do, please? Thanks. —GethralkinHyperwave 18:34, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

  • Lol, I've always liked that box you've got at the top of your talk page. Yeah, sorry about the Tc mess and thank you for closing it. I will refresh myself on the Point making policy as you suggest. Wasn't my intention to get into wikilawyering, but I started being told conflicting things in the Tc, and when I am told things that conflict and call into question the veracity of justifications, I respond/react. Also, sorry about the wrong forum choice I made for the issue of template handling—I should have stuck to the simple request of deletion of the template redirect itself, instead of letting issues get mixed up. —GethralkinHyperwave 19:05, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

First EduCorps meetingEdit

Hello, I am inviting you to the very first EduCorps IRC meeting, which will be held at 7 PM ET on Saturday August 31st. I am inviting all Inquisitors, AgriCorps members, and EduCorps members to a meeting in order to discuss the large amount of old comprehensive articles that are in need of maintenance. I would also like to discuss the possibility of increasing the responsibilities of EduCorps-only users due to the lack of reviewers on the Comprehensive article nominations page and CA review page. Please come join the discussion on this page if you wish to participate in the meeting. I encourage anyone who wants to contribute to add any articles with issues to the appropriate section on the page. Thank you for your time.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest (Greetings) 03:59, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

Balmorran collaboratorsEdit

This day I returned from my work, ready to edit Wookieepedia, because I have so much love for this encyclopedia I'm not able to even describe and what I found - that my article about Balmorran collaborators had been deleted. I was shocked. And disappointed. Disappointed, because I give my all heart to this websiste. Because I love Star Wars. Because I love Old Republic. Because I'm a person who pay a lot of attention to the tiniest detail. I must say I don't understand the resason explaining cancellation of this article. They were Balmorran collaborators during the battle of Balmorra. They were people who supported the Sith Empire and didn't agree with Balmorran Resistance cause. I listed this people in this article. Jesus Christ, at this moment I'm playing the Old Republic as a Sith Warrior and I know what I'm writing. I don't imagine things which don't exist!! I pity you, because you are so called the Great all-knowning Administrator of Wookieepedia, but the truth is that we, simple users of this encyclopedia, put our hearts and make this website alive. Don't you believe? Try to make on your own the biggest information encyclopedia about SW. Wish you a luck. It's easy to delete others works - it's nothing special. Try build something. And respect others (yes, I'm also a SW fan, I'm not worse than you).

I'm writing this post, being full aware that you, using all powers granted to you as the administrator, might decide to block my account and forbid me to edit all pages. I can live with that. And I can only pray that in the near future Wookieepedia will find a true Administrator - wise, sensitive and respectful of others. Because this websiste deserves on the best people. I whish you would be one of them.

Best wishes

PS - I've revived the article about Balmorran collaborators. In the history of it I've written the reason. I really don't imagine things which doesn't exist. I'm playing this game now and use recently obtained knowledge when editing Wookieepedia. Unsigned comment by Dawidos2 (talk • contribs).

  • Good job, you explained in the article itself why it doesn't need to exist. They were not an organized group, or recognized as an established organization. A bunch of rabble doesn't deserve an article just because that rabble happens to be on one particular planet. Now please suck it up and move on to something productive. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 08:19, September 14, 2013 (UTC)
    • I thought I had been accused of lack of canonicity. It never came to my mind that deletion of this article is caused by that it doesn't describe an organized group. My motive was to inform users about Balmorrans who collaborated with the Sith Empire. Let's say, somebody wonders what Balmorrans (by names) supported the occupiers of their planet and voila - there is article about them on the Wookieepedia. But ok. I can accept that explanation (there are many rules here, so let it be). I don't want my work to go waste, so I understand that I can mention that group of people in already existing articles like Battle of Balmorra? Have a nice day -- Dawidos2 (talk) 13:54, September 15, 2013 (UTC)Dawidos

A Request for Another WikiEdit

Hi! I'm El Alamein, and I'm not from around this Wiki, but I'd like your expertise nonetheless. My Wiki is the Deadliest Fiction Wiki, which creates fights to the death between characters of fiction - and one I plan to host is General Grievous vs. Lord Voldemort of Harry Potter fame. One of the biggest topics of debate concerning this fight is magic vs. lightsabers. Lightsabers have been proven capable of deflecting lasers from blaster rifles and also other lightsabers, so the question is whether or not Grievous could protect himself with his lightsabers from a spell shot from Voldemort's wand. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could shed some light on the mysterious properties that physically make up lightsabers in the Star Wars universe to better assist us in our analysis. Thank you for your time. El Alamein (talk) 22:52, September 16, 2013 (UTC)

Hello My name is David Nowakowski. I would like to offer you cooperation. I would like all of my friends to translate all texts wookieepedia aka the Polish language. We are big fans of Star Wars, lives in the UK and we have plenty of time to take care of this project. Poland has a lot of Star Wars fans will certainly count on the large number of hits on the site. Of course, I can also offer care for the Polish side of the site. Of course, I can also send a trial who translated text. I hope a positive decision on my request

David "Magix" Nowakowski Unsigned comment by Darth.magix (talk • contribs).

  • You're welcome to do what you like with the text of Wookieepedia articles so long as whatever you do complies with the "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 3.0 (Unported)," per the licensing summary page at Wikia Community Central, but there's already a Polish Star Wars wiki called Biblioteka Ossus at (though they're having server issues at the moment) so you should probably check with the admins there to see if they need help. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 21:47, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Personal attackEdit

Could you kindly point out where NaruHina personally attacked you on the link provided? I fail to see it. Stake black msg 04:23, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

  • It's an insult to Wookieepedia and a blatantly political attack piece that makes no points other than biased demands. It has no place in a rational debate, and serves only to prolong this mess, though that does seem to be your intention. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 04:31, April 5, 2014 (UTC)
    • Dude, I know you're upset, but this is no reason to bypass rules. "Insult to Wookieepedia" and "political attacks" are not personal offenses. There's no basis in the rules Wookieepedia for reverting my edit and placing the link in a spam filter. My intention is not to "cause a mess", I think these are valid criticisms and I believe I have the right to express those opinions. I sincerely ask that you revert those edits. Stake black msg 04:38, April 5, 2014 (UTC)
      • Alright, try WP:CIVIL, multiple examples of item 1: accusations of impropriety, calling for users to be reprimanded, use of profanity directed at other users. The edit will not be reverted. Good night. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 04:43, April 5, 2014 (UTC)
        • I'm just going to cite WP:NPA: This policy can be a prime candidate for wikilawyering, which can be defined as asserting a technical interpretation of the policy to override the principle it expresses. I believe using "rudeness" as an excuse to remove criticism against an administrator is a fine example of wikilawyering. Please, I ask that you, in good faith, revert your edit. Stake black msg 04:51, April 5, 2014 (UTC)
          • The decision to remove the link was not made in a vacuum. The WP:CIVIL issue is separate from the WP:NPA issue and was pointed out by another administrator in IRC. Now, I'm only going to warn you one time that if you don't drop this, you will be found in violation of point 5 of WP:BP. Good night. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 04:59, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

Warning: admin rightsEdit

Hi Darth Culator. We noticed that you hid your edit summary regarding the removal of Club Jade in the official friends template using revision delete (as well as any record of the removal itself). We also saw that you added NaruHina's off-site blog post to the spam filter. I am un-hiding your edit summary, as well as Riff's edit summary, and I will be disabling the filter blocking NaruHina's blog post.

Revision delete is for hiding private/personal information and heinous vandalism, not a tool for hiding controversial comments. Likewise, abuse filter is a tool for preventing spam and vandalism, not for silencing people who disagree with you. The filter you added also led to someone losing their auto-confirmed status. This is an abuse of power and of the non-default extensions we allow Wookieepedia to use. We allow Wookieepedia to use these tools, particularly revision delete which only a few communities are given, because we trust Wookieepedia to be responsible with them. These actions betray that trust.

We're not going to take the tools away, because that would unfairly punish the other administrators who use them for legitimate purposes. However, if you continue to abuse these kinds of tools then we will remove your admin and bureaucrat rights on Wookieepedia. We don't want to do that, so please don't do this sort of thing again. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea@Wikia(talk) 20:25, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

Brandon, I wanted to contact you on your talk page but it seems you have editing disabled on it. But I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reprimanding the parties involved with this issue and dealing with the severity of this tool's abuse. I can assure you, it makes a great number of Wookieepedians and readers alike very pleased to know that such abuse of special tools won't fly on Wikia. KrisHeim (talk) 17:00, April 10, 2014 (UTC)

Small change required to Template:InterlangEdit

Hi Culator, I have a small request for a change to the Interlang template. Since the template is edit-protected, I cannot change it myself.

Currently, the template is using {{localurl:page name}} to create the links to other wikis. This has been working fine for years, but now that we have canon and legends articles, it is no longer working. On the German Jedipedia, we created our own extension so that we can store all tabs in the same article, but use #kanon and #legends to link to the correct tab. Example: and

Unfortunately, {{localurl:Darth Bane#legends}} strips the anchor link at the end and only shows /wiki/Darth_Bane. I tested different alternatives and found that page_name is an alternative that is working correctly. Therefore, I'd like to ask that you change the template and replace localurl by urlencode. Also, you need to put /wiki/ before and add |WIKI at the end.

}}{{#if:{{{de|}}}|<li class="interwiki-de plainlinks {{#if:{{{deFA|}}}|FA}} {{#if:{{{deGA|}}}|GA}}" title="de:{{{de}}}">[{{localurl:{{{de}}}}} {{#language:de}}]</li>

needs to be changed to:

}}{{#if:{{{de|}}}|<li class="interwiki-de plainlinks {{#if:{{{deFA|}}}|FA}} {{#if:{{{deGA|}}}|GA}}" title="de:{{{de}}}">[{{urlencode:{{{de}}}|WIKI}} {{#language:de}}]</li>

The other lines do not need to be changed, since those wikis do not use our custom extension. Thanks in advance, C-3P0 (talk) 17:06, June 1, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for editing the template, it is working perfectly now! With that out of the way, I will fix HotCat so that it can add the interwiki links to canon pages. And don't worry, I'll contact you via IRC next time. :-) Have a nice day, C-3P0 (talk) 16:30, June 18, 2014 (UTC)

Jedi Council questionEdit

Brandon Rhea had mentioned on the talk page for Jedi Council/Canon that you were checking the Revenge of the Sith film to find out if it was, in fact, in the film that the Senate had voted to give Palpatine direct control of the Jedi Council. Were you able to check that and if so, was that in fact the case in the final version of the film? ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:57, July 11, 2014 (UTC)

KillerRoboLeia bot editsEdit

Hello Culator, as you are in charge of the KillerRoboLeia bot, just wanted to point out I have seen certain redirect fixes where the article being pipelinked is lowercase, such as here and here. Wondering if there's a way to implement a mass fix for any of those errors. Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 02:22, September 21, 2014 (UTC)

  • I noticed that. It doesn't actually hurt anything, it's just not standard. I'm going to implement a regex for generally capitalizing pipelinks into the standard set of fixes, but I'm going to go over the redirect-fixed articles manually anyway once it goes through the list I'm working on. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 02:44, September 21, 2014 (UTC)
    • Also, in the bot's recent edit to Wedge Antilles, the bot "corrected" a redirect to point to Wedge Antilles, which is obviously incorrect (the link should have been removed instead). Not sure whether this is a common enough case to warrant a special check for, though it probably happens occasionally with aliases (which was the case here). —MJ— Council Chambers 03:36, September 21, 2014 (UTC)
      • is a bog-standard PyWikipedia script, I couldn't program that kind of check if my life depended on it. That, the lowercase pipelinks, and redirecting to categories are all issues I'm checking for manually now. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:41, September 21, 2014 (UTC)

I've been busy with real life and haven't contributed, but if you look at my recent activity, you'll see that I'm back and trying to help the community. Mind unprotecting my userpage so I can get back to work? Thanks. mrobviousjosh (talk) 19:55, January 18, 2015 (UTC)

If you can't figure out how to do so, that's not my problem. Please stop bothering me. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:02, January 25, 2015 (UTC)

I did a false color of the toy soldier embedded in the Executor greeble, you can use it if you think it pops better than the one on the Executor page. I found it's much easier to see when it's colored rather than spot lighted. Also this image is a little larger but you can resize.

Request from Voice Acting wikiEdit

Hi Wookiepedia! I am Jade Cooper from Voice Acting wiki and I have created a page for Darth Vader but doesn't have any images. Is it possible for us to publish pictures of your choosing for our Darth Vader page? I'm not sure which images are allright to use.--Jade Cooper (talk) 19:00, March 11, 2015 (UTC)

  • That wouldn't really be up to us. You should just choose whichever images you like as long as they're topical, in order to meet the provisions of fair use. All of our pictures are tagged with a particular license template on their corresponding image information page. For example, this image is tagged with {{promotional}} because it has long been used in promo materials such as Official Pix distributed at conventions, while this image is tagged with {{film-screenshot}} because it was captured from the Blu-ray of The Empire Strikes Back. Though we can by no means provide genuine legal advice, as a general rule, as long as your images are properly attributed and have a proper copyright disclaimer attached, Lucasfilm allows wide latitude with non-commercial use of their images. Kylo RenEdit

Hey Culator. Regarding this change, the source in question shows a photo of Kylo with snowtroopers. The caption is "Next-generation bad guy Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) commands snowtroopers loyal to the evil First Order on the frozen plains of their secret base." So the affiliation is indeed confirmed, unless there's something I'm missing. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:53, May 7, 2015 (UTC)

  • I don't particularly like relying on secondary sources like a miscellaneous photoshoot from a random fashion magazine, there could be all kinds of details wrong or missing, but if anyone wants to add it back based on that then I won't remove it again. It's almost certainly accurate, the sourcing just annoys me. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 06:06, May 10, 2015 (UTC)
    • Thanks. I'll re-add. If it helps assuage your concerns at all, Vanity Fair has been given these exclusive behind the scenes photo shoots for each film since Episode I. The information within it would come directly from Lucasfilm. And, based on the way media works, if there was any information in it that was wrong, Lucasfilm would have contacted Vanity Fair to have it corrected. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 11:09, May 10, 2015 (UTC)
