Dude. Awesome. It's about time someone did that. The Jedi order one I did the other day was actually my first step toward the same kind of project, but my Inkscape skills are still somewhat limited (someone else actually drew the Jedi logo, I just converted it from Illustrator to SVG and overlaid it on a scan from the NEGWT to make sure the angles and color were identical). If you don't mind, I'd like to optimize and validate all your SVGs, as there were only about 20 SVG files on Wookieepedia before this and they've all been optimized and validated as well (I'm kind of a file format nazi. Everything I upload or reupload is a perfect example of its format, and I'm eventually going to create a page for uploaders with OCD). Also, you might consider bringing your project under the WookieeProject Images banner, for easier organization and to bring attention from like-minded people. -- Darth Culator ^(Talk) 14:39, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] About the Vector Art projects...

I saw you were restoring symbols and such into cleaner, hi-res vectors. Well, I have a graphics tablet and would love to help contribute to this project. Have any busywork that needs done? I'll happily take that off your hands. For examples of my work, here's my deviantART Gallery. There are a few logos in there, along with an assortment of line drawings, coloured images, a photomanipulation, and a random selection of fan-artwork.

Curious... How widely-compatible with most browsers are .svg images? Usually, I save any vector-based image as a .png, as it's the format I'm comfortable with and most third-party browsers (and IE7 ('bout damn time, too)) support transparent PNGs. I haven't yet dabbled with saving images in SVG format, though seeing as how it's being used here, I'm gonna start using that format.

What benefits does the SVG format have over PNG? Will SVG files display properly with most, if not all browsers? Can they still be used with BBcode [img] [/img] tags and still display properly? Would deviantArt throw a fit if I decided to start uploading SVG-formatted images?

Since you're working on the vector artwork, then you're prolly one of the best people to ask about another thing... For the Shi'ido main image (currently a kinda-meh image), I offered to do a hi-res retrace of one of the comic panels that depict the Shi'ido in their natural form. Would such things be allowed? I'm aware of the "no fan-art" policy, however the Shi'ido image would still be the origonal image, only it'll be retraced to be of higher quality. Essentially, hellishly-obsessive image enhancement. Hey, Trip. I was curious if there was a reason why you didn't simply update the format of Template:Infobox CVG instead of creating Template:Infobox CVGNEW? That looks great, thanks, and I will use it in the article. However, I know you care about accuracy, so I thought I'd point out that it looks like the tips of the tips of the nine triangles just impose the tiniest bit onto the white circular border.
