Block Edit

  • Hi, I'm Prince Xizor, I was wondering if you had any information at all on who could have blocked me from editing the TPM page. Thank you. If you don't mind, please put your answer up on my disscusion page.Prince Xizor 03:13, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Removing Twi'lek Cleanup Tag Edit

Hey, I noticed you wanted to remove the cleanup tag from the Twi'lek page earlier. I would now too. Do you think we should wait for another person to vote, or just go ahead and remove it? --Culix 02:29, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • A lot has happened to that article since I said that the tag should be removed. I haven't looked at the article for a while, to be honest. See my response on the article's talk page. – Aidje talk 16:29, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Categories capitalizationEdit

Hi. I already fixed the West End Games Sourcebooks category caps, as I was completing book articles in that category. I found the note in your user page after finishing while checking for aditonal links to the old category name. Thinortolan 20:12, 10 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Admin meeting Edit

I'd like to call an admin meeting. Please check out the discussion. Thanks. WhiteBoy 07:30, 28 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Jedi categorization Edit

Hey Aidje. I'm planning a reorganization/renaming of Category:Old Republic characters as I did for Category:Galactic Empire people. An earlier wikienema helped clear out the "OR char" category, and the current largest chunk of its population is made up of Jedi that served the Republic. As the keeper of the Force categorization scheme, how do you suggest I move forward? Is is useful to denote the time period of Jedi via categorization through a subcategory? If not, I can dump out the majority of those Jedi, most of which had no particular relationship to the Republic. Thanks!--SparqMan 04:14, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • My suggestion: Make "Jedi characters" a subcategory of Old Republic, Rebel Alliance, New Republic, and Galactic Alliance characters. That way, only the Jedi category will be needed. 10:27, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Oops. That was me - QuentinGeorge 10:31, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • I think that this solution is good. Sorry for the slow reply. – Aidje talk 21:19, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
      • But we must stray from even using the word "Characters". That is our goal. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:27, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
        • "Characters" or "people", the categorization is the same no matter which word we choose for the parent categories. – Aidje talk 21:35, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • So, to clarify, I can remove the Jedi from the government related pages unless they played an active role? The only reason to keep them there is to provide a chronological breakdown. This could be replaced by era-ing the Jedi cats. --SparqMan 18:39, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Yes, that's what I'm thinking. We can go ahead and remove Jedi characters from categories such as Category:Old Republic characters. What sort of era categories are you thinking we should use for Jedi characters? – Aidje talk 00:05, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • Most of the Jedi we know of fall into the early Republic history (KOTOR, Tales of the Jedi, Sith Wars, etc.), the Clone Wars era (and the few decades preceeding it), the few Jedi of the GCW, and the New Jedi Order. Those seem like the most obvious four. What do you think? --SparqMan 07:36, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
    • I think that it's a good idea to have eras that aren't defined by every fleeting change of government. I suggest the following eras: Pre-Ruusan (being any Jedi who was a part of the order before the Ruusan Reformation), Post-Ruusan (being any Jedi entered the order after the Reformation but before...), Clone Wars (any Jedi who was a part of the order during the Clone Wars and probably a short time before as well, maybe a decade or so. certainly TPM should be included), New Jedi Order (Luke is the first of the New Order, so this would include him and any after him). As you said, the Post-Ruusan category would probably be a bit slim since it would not include any who were around for the Clone Wars. I think it's ok to skip the GCW; it was mostly a time of transition from the old order to the new, and because of this would only include Jedi who were already in other categories. The one problem I see is the numerous Jedi who appear in post-film material who are not new Jedi. As I've defined the eras, they would be in the Clone Wars category since they were around at that time. But perhaps you have ideas that will improve my suggestion? – Aidje talk 17:20, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello Edit

Hi, I just discovered this Wiki, but I am a Star Wars expert, and this site is like a dream come true for me. I just wanted to say hello to the admins. Also, what did you have to do to to become an admin?--General Antilles 21:45, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Greetings, General! I hope you decide to stick around—we need all the help we can get. In order to become an administrator you must contribute to the wiki no less than six months, make a good deal of solid contributions and be friendly and helpsome. --Imp 21:54, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks for answering, Imp. I was rather slow to log on. – Aidje talk 06:50, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Macs Edit

Hey, I noticed on your user page that you are soon to be the owner of a new Macbook Pro—congrats. I've been using Macs for years, so if you have any acclimation problems or questions feel free to drop me a line (either on my talk page or by e-mail). Good to know I'm not the only Apple user here :). Regards, RMF 03:38, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

meanie Edit

You hurt my feelings! I didn't know that stuff about OOM-9 was fanon! You didn't have to call me an anon! You could at least apologize! -User:Maaul/sig

  • Where did he call you an anon? Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 20px 22:16, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
    • And by the way, "anon" is a term for a person with no username. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 20px 22:16, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
      • He hasn't even posted anything anywhere since March 31.--Rune Haako 15:19, 6 April 2006 (PDT)
        • Wow. That was 8 months ago that I said you were an anon. And you were. As Nebulax said, all that means is that you hadn't registered. I'm glad to see that you've registered; we can always use another hand. – Aidje talk 17:17, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Help? Edit

I was planning on registering, but it seems that my username is already in use... but there's no user page for the name. Is there some way to tell if an account is still active? And if it's not, can I have the name? The name in question would be "Day". If this is not feasable, then no big deal, I'll make up another name. If you're not the person to ask, then please direct me to who is. I couldn't tell if there was any admin command structure, as it were. --Day 04:22, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm not Aidje, but I've scanned the Active User list, and I can't find a "Day" anywhere in it. Try and register it again, and if that doesn't work, try contacting User:Riffsyphon1024 or User:WhiteBoy, who have Bureaucrat status and are more likely to be able to help you with a technical problem like this. jSarek 04:41, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Ahha. Thanks for the tip, JSarek. I'll do that. Don't feel the need to reply or take action, then, Adije (unless you have something further, of course). I'll go draw WhiteBoy's eye to this (rather than re-post at his Talk page). --Day 05:32, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Sorted, I think. --Day 05:58, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Thanks, jSarek, and welcome, Day. – Aidje talk 07:16, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Establishing a blocking policy Edit

I have started a CT thread about creating a unified blocking policy here. As an admin, your input would be appreciated. Thanks, RMF 01:49, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

this user did something to the Vibromace page. not sure if its vandilism or spam can you check it out? Ugluk: Destroyer of Redlinks 14:16, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Looks like Darth Culator deleted it. Dang, my response time is bad. – Aidje talk 16:07, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Has the long lost Administrator returned? Cause that was your first edit in like....3 and a half months. Cull Tremayne 20:48, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Alas, time is fleeting. I wish I had more time to spend on here, but I wish I had more time to do a lot of things. I doubt you'll be seeing much of me anytime soon. Besides the time issues, I don't hardly now how to contribute anymore. Anything I know is pretty well-covered. – Aidje talk 01:11, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Can't sneak past me...I caught you doing a couple more edits!  :p (Good to see you again, bud!) WhiteBoy 15:39, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
      • yep, I've done a few. :-) – Aidje talk 00:20, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Input requestedEdit

A consensus track is up in order to establish a policy for deleting old copyvio articles. As an administrator, your input would be appreciated. The consensus track can be found here. --Imp 22:07, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Skin Edit

You will have to copy the skin to User:Aidje/myskin.css (and set the skin to MySkin in preferences) for it to work. - Sikon 18:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I figured it out after messing up on the first try. Thanks. – Aidje talk 06:39, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

IRC Edit

As noted on Wookieepedia:IRC, you can use the web client, which works in any web browser. Also, you can try X-Chat Aqua, the Mac OS X port of my favorite IRC client, X-Chat. I can't test it myself, though. - Sikon 08:29, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I'll probably be using the web client. – Aidje talk 20:47, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Fool's Errand Edit

I recently wrote a synopsis for Fool's Errand, the Fanfilm, and someone was kind enough to delete the whole thing. Spirits of the Force still has the synopsis I wrote, but I don't get why the other one was erased. Leave a reply on your notes cuz I currently don't have mine up. Thanks. Jedi Striker 9 November 2006, 00:07 (UTC)

  • The synopsis was too long for a 35 minute fan film: so long that another user wanted the whole article deleted. It should probably be trimmed to three paragraphs or so. —Silly Dan (talk) 12:41, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
    • It looks to me like both of those synopses are a bit long (the one deleted and the one remaining). The solution shouldn't be to delete them, but to trim them down to an acceptable level of detail. A synopsis doesn't need to be incredibly detailed. – Aidje talk 04:23, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Proposal: Deny recognition Edit

I have started a admin's noticeboard thread about changing some administrative details about blocked user's pages here. Please look over the thread and add your comments: there have been no votes against it so far, but I don't have enough input to assume consensus and start deleting things. Thanks, —Silly Dan (talk) 15:53, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

MIA no more?Edit

Hey Aidje. Been a long time since I've seen you around here. Hopefully you're up to date with everything that's been going on. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:05, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm not particularly up to date, sadly. Actually… *logs on to AIM* – Aidje talk 05:09, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
