  • Welcome! And thanks for your edit to the Kaleesh article. While most of what you added is sourced, do you have a reference for the sentence additions you made starting with "Presumably"? That'll help us keep everything verified. Thanks. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 21:50, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Edit: I meant, "Welcome back, MyNz." Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 21:51, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
      • The Kaleesh article needs a lot of work. For the "Presumably" bit, I just made a conjecture. Given my experience learning history at school, I leart that I must source my work. But given their circusmtances and following the theory of the "enemy of my enemy is my friend", it is logical that the Kaleesh supported the CIS. Thus logically, they were targeted by the Empire resulting in Thrawn bombing their world. Just like the Arabs supporting the Nazis in World War Two and the Jews supporting the Allies. Right now the references is in a mess. Can you help me to fix it. Thanks for welcoming me back. Andykatib 21:57, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
        • Eh, I'll see what I can do about the Kaleesh article, but it's really a good idea to stay away from the conjecture—that's what we're trying to get rid of—and stick just to the facts. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 01:05, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Second Battle of Bakura Edit

Well, I can tell just at a glance that you've done a considerable amount of work on the article, and tweaking, you could probably get to FA, in the long run. However, there will have to be quite a bit of tweaking. I don't have a lot of time to read it at the moment (although I will do in the next few days,) but there are some things that I can point out for you, for starters. Firstly, all the items in the infobox need to be given a source. Secondly, it would be best to make one section entitled "History," and make all the other sections you have currently subsections of that section. Thirdly, it is important to source every single paragraph, and you don't need to break up citations with a period. Fourthly, you should write a "Behind the scenes" section. Usually, these can be fairly simple. As an example, take a look at the Behind the scenes section on Battle of Otoh Sancture, an article I recently cleaned up. Another important thing: unless you really have to, try not to use characters first names, instead, use their surnames. Lastly, to make things easier for the rest of us, please sign your comments, like the one you left on my talkpage, with four tildes (). Get cracking on those points, and you'll be well on your way. Good luck. :) Thefourdotelipsis 12:21, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

4Dot has covered all of the major points I wanted to address, but I will add that I think the aftermath section is a little too lengthy, and focuses on events only indirectly related to the battle, such as the Corellian Crisis, and Capitison's family issues. Mention of the second invasion attempt is valid, however, in my opinion. The article would also need a longer introductory paragraph. However, if you are looking for GA status, and constructive criticism and feedback, then I would suggest nominating the article and allowing our regular reviewers and Agricorps members to have a look at it.
Thanks guys for your advice. I will implement all of them and thanks for taking the time to help me. Andykatib 17:50, 13 November 2008 Andykatib 17:50, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Good work. I'll take a look at in due course. Thefourdotelipsis 05:59, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Just to echo others, nice job expanding the article, and I'll read over it eventually. Nice to see you back MyNz, wondered what happened to you. Cull Tremayne 06:47, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Second Battle of BakuraEdit

Just to say, Andykatib, that it's not encyclopediac to refer to the Yuuzhan Vong as "Vong". It's a slang term and would be like referring to Mon Remonda as Remonda or Red Gauntlet as Gauntlet. If you've been using it in articles it really needs to be changed to its full form. Thanks! -- Harrar (Villip) 08:55, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Vong? No - Yuuzhan Vong Edit

Thanks for updating the Raygar and Kanz Disorders articles. I've added a paragraph to the Raygar article reflecting what you put under Kanz Disorders: could you check its accuracy when you have a chance? Thanks, —Silly Dan (talk) 11:52, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Sparky Edit

Hey, Andykatib. On this page, by interlink comm, do you mean comlink? Also, I was wondering how you change the title heading of a page.

I-DON'T-HAS-FANCY-SIGNATURE, JadenKorr13 04:35, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

  • Er, I'm not very sure about the interlink comm. I was only reading from the online comic preview. For your second question, do you mean moving the page and creating a disambiguation page. I'll do it for you. Andykatib 04:48, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
  • About the first thing, that's okay. I meant change/edit the title of a page. For Sparky, making a disambiguation page would be pretty convenient. Knock yourself out. JadenKorr13 05:03, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Wilek Nereus Edit

Hello, Andykatib. I am here to inform you that your Good article nomination of Wilek Nereus has been removed from the GAN page because it exceeds 3,000 words, which site consensus has determined to be the maximum limit for articles that can be nominated for GA status. Due to the article's length, you should instead nominate the article for Featured status on the FAN page. This is the second time the Nereus nomination is being removed. As you can see at the bottom of this page, the AC removed it per these parameters on 7/25. Please do not continue nominating this article on the GAN page. Thank you. Factual accuracy Edit

I just wanted to comment about the accuracy of your edits to all the articles pertaining to Zillo Beast (episode). While they look sound and just needed a bit of cleanup at times, I want to point out that the initial reasoning behind the signing of the Treaty of Malastare was defending the planet from the CIS. Killing the Zillo beast became a secondary task, only after it had appeared. Your edits to Malastare and Dug implied that the request to kill the Zillo beast came well before the Battle of Malastare (which you called "subsequent" to the request to kill the beast.) Also, while I could be wrong about this part, I wasn't clear from the episode that the bomb awoke the beast, only that it had unleashed it. I thought the beast was alive and well under the planet all that time, and the bomb merely allowed it access to the surface. It may well have been hibernating as you say, but I didn't get that from the episode (I could have missed it though). But yes, the order of events was 1- Republic and CIS find Malastare perfect for their fuel issues, 2- CIS invades, 3- Republic uses Electro-Proton Bomb, which stirs the beast, 4- Dugs request that the beast be killed, 5- Palpatine and Anakin decide to stun the beast only (using multiple tanks, not just one). Also, I noticed you're in New Zealand, do you also get the episodes a week early, like I do in Canada? Anyways, good edits, but I just thought you should know about the inaccurate implications that some of them made. Cheers. Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith -Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 14:23, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thankyou very much for clarifying the details about the Treaty of Malastare and the Zillo beast. I have to admit that I have never watched that particular episode Zillo Beast (episode). Having read your explaination, I now understand the correct order of the battle. That explained why I got the order horribly wrong. In New Zealand, we tend to get the American programmes following the North American release and never at the same time. I myself don't watch Cartoon Network regularly and only bother to watch it if there is a Clone Wars episode on. At the moment, Sky TV hasn't announced any information about Season Two.

So, the Republic and CIS wanted Malastare in the first place with the latter invading. The Republic responds and then deploys the Electro-Proton Bomb which disables the droids but awakens the beast. The Dugs request for it to be destroyed and then Palpatine and Skywalker do their conniving. In the end, their plan works and everyone is pleased including the Dugs who then sign the Treaty. Now I understand it better. I got drawn into editing the Zillo beast article because of all the grammar errors which I have a strong itch to clean up. I love to use formal terminology like "endemic", "sapient" or "indigineous".

But the Clone Wars producers seemed to have made a noticaeble canonical glitch. The Gran Protectorate was the de-facto government of Malastare and they were collaborating actively with the Republic. I assumed the Gran would have appeared and that the Dugs would be just their foot soldiers or that the CIS were backing a Dug rebellion against the "Gran oppressors". Never mind, I guess they chose the Dugs for their main role because they were fascinated by their flexible physiology: their legs at front and their arms at the back.Hopefully Lucasfilm fixes this problem by saying something like the Gran granted the Dugs self-government to prevent them from seeking Separatist support. In the same way, that the British granted the Irish independence in 1922.

By the way, thanks very much for helping me, a fellow Wookieepedian. I appreciate the time you took to explain the correct order. I'll look out for the Clone Wars on Sky TV's Cartoon Network. I hope I can work with you more in the future. Have a good Spring and Summer, we in the southern hemisphere are in Autumn and soon Winter. Andykatib 20:40 6th April 2010 (UTC)

  • No worries, friend. And yes, you got the order right in your review here. And I agree with the continuity issue and had noticed it originally too, thinking "where are all the Gran?" It's possible that the Republic forced the Gran to share power. Or maybe even the Clone Wars demanded a Gran retreat from the world. I assume a proper retcon will happen in time.

On another note, about New Zealand autumn/winter, how cold does it get? I'm in Ottawa, Canada and our winters get bloody cold (average of around -10C, but with windchill can get as cold as -30C if not colder. But I'm curious about some other places, especially places on the other side of the world. Cheers! Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith -Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 13:35, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

    • One thing I have learnt about the Star Wars Expanded Universe is that they have to keep retconning as a means of fixing the differences between different talents. Most of the time, the various authors, game developers and artists solve their differences. Well, since you asked about New Zealand winters, I can say it varies from region and latitude even for such a small country.

New Zealand is surrounded by ocean which moderate the climate and minimise the extremes of cold and hot. The farther north you are, the warmer it is and vice versa for the south. The northern tip of the North Island particularly Northland and Auckland has a subtropical climate with mild winters (14 to 20 C) and hot, humid summers (22 to 26 C). The southern tip of the South Island like my hometown of Dunedin has a temperate climate with cold winters and warm summers.

Because of NZ's maritime climate, the temperature rarely drops below 0C or rises above 30C. It rarely snows in coastal areas though snowfalls are heavier farther inland like the Southern Alps and the Desert Road in the North Island. We only get snow for one or two days at most and everything closes down. For example, whenever it snows in Dunedin or Invercargill, schools close and the kids get a holiday. Whereas in other places like Russia and North America, kids still have to go to school.

Nice meeting you on Wookieepedia and I hope you enjoy your time editing. Andykatib 05:50 8th April 2009 (UTC)

Nereus Edit

Hello Andy, I just had a quick question for you regarding the Wilek Nereus article—have you considered nominating it for Featured Article status? I've read over it, and it's really quite good, mostly up to scratch save for a few parts that probably require a bit more context, and I noticed that you tried to nominate it for GA but it was too long. Anyway, I'd love to see it nominated for Featured Article status, basically because I think you're almost there anyway with it, and it seems a shame that such sterling work should go unnoticed. I'd be willing to help you out in any regard with the endeavor, but let me know if you do intend to nominate it at any point. Thefourdotelipsis 16:20, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • Oh thanks very much for reading through one of my articles. I'll be willing to help work the Wilek Nereus article up to Featured Article status. Look forward to working with you. Andykatib 23:15, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
    • Well, all I really think you need to do at this point is provide some context on the main characters from the films that pop up in the story as they appear, and you're basically done. Also, I apologize, I kinda ruined some of your paragraphs when I went through the article, so now they're a bit uneven. I can go back through and split them up, if you like, it's just that visually a lot of reviewers seem to like meatier-looking paragraphs. Thefourdotelipsis 05:43, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Edit

Hey Andykatib,

I noticed you were working on the Battle of Yavin 4 (Great Sith War) and wanted to give you a tip for editing. When adding reftags, it is important to source by the specific comic issue as opposed to the entire story arc. This provides the reader with a much more specific reference point should they be interested in something particular, instead of them having to search through an entire series of comics just to find one thing. For more information on that subject, see here. Hope this helps, and if I can be of any future assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.Tommy 9281 21:37, November 10, 2010 (UTC)

CT Discussion Edit

Hey, Andy. I invite you to stop by and vote on this CT to decide for or against giving a single user power start a personal project to make broad-sweeping major changes to templates without notice to the community and as that user sees fit, having such changes protected and non-revertible without consensus track to reverse them. —GethralkinHyperwave 04:23, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Documents Edit

Be cautious in assigning a type of document to a document based solely on how an editor described them. For instance, you've categorized most of the works cited by "The Written Word: A Brief Introduction to the Writing Systems of Galactic Basic" as Articles and academic papers, which cannot strictly be determined from the original article (indeed, authorial intent was that they were books, for whatever that's worth). jSarek (talk) 21:07, November 24, 2013 (UTC)

Hy Andy. Could you please confirm whether the correct spelling is "Earthcote" or "Eathcote"? The map provided uses the latter spelling. If the typo is only in the map, then it's worthy of an explanation in a Behind the scenes section. Cheers. Stake black msg 21:46, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

Oswaft in Geonosis & Outer Rim WorldsEdit

Hi. A long time ago, when you went by MyNz, you edited the page Oswaft (July 5, 2006; 20:47) and added Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds to the sources. I've been looking for a reference to the Oswaft species in that book, but I cannot find it. It's a long shot but, do you remember where's the explicit reference to the Oswaft in it? Thank you for your time, --Skippy Farlstendoiro (talk) 20:36, September 2, 2014 (UTC)

  • OK, cool. I must be confused or there must have been some typo somewhere because reading [[1]] I thought it had been you. I'll consider the issue closed and we soon edit Geonosis off the Oswaft sources. Thanks again, -Skippy Farlstendoiro (talk) 19:04, September 3, 2014 (UTC)

Re: ApologiesEdit

You may also want to go back over The Phantom Menace, as most of what you had added from that movie was copied/pasted from the Legends article as well, not written in your own words based on the source material. Trip391 (talk) 01:44, October 17, 2015 (UTC)

Zare LeonisEdit

Say, I noticed that a while back, you added the information on the Zare Leonis page about Edge of the Galaxy. You may have noticed that I've been working on the page for a while now. I'm nearly finished up with adding the info on The Secret Academy, but the information from Rebel in the Ranks still needs to be added pretty much in entirety. I was wondering if you might be interested in splitting up that task. I also wouldn't mind having someone like you who's familiar with the subject matter read over what I've written and tighten up anything that's unclear, could be better written, or shortened for brevity. I've tried to keep things reasonably compact, but with so much material, I wonder if I may have been a bit excessively detailed in places. Well, let me know if you're interested! Thanks. ProfessorTofty (talk) 01:03, November 27, 2015 (UTC)

  • Excellent! Well, I don't want you to be spoiled or anything, if you haven't been already. So how about you just let me know once you've had a chance to catch up on your reading of those, and then we can see about taking care of that? Or, if you'd prefer, we can just dive right in. But I imagine you would want to get caught up on the story? It's a very good ending. ProfessorTofty (talk) 01:34, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
    • I'm certainly curious about Hux as well. Well, in any case, I just finished off the info on Zare Leonis's page for The Secret Academy. Over the next couple of days, I'm going to go over the page some more, see if I can touch things up, maybe add some pictures or quotes. Then, if you like, we can go ahead and get started on adding the info for Rebel in the Ranks. ProfessorTofty (talk) 01:47, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
