Sorry about the delay in replying, I was on a kind of vacation and I just got back. I don't mind helping with Mara Jade, but she is going to be tough. I just need to know what I need to do, i.e. assign me something, and I'll try to do it. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 02:44, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Re:Shameless recruitment Edit

Thanks for the invite, I would be happy to help out any way I can. Funny enough, Gav and Jori Daragon fall within my own vision of promoting Tales of the Jedi articles to FA and/or GA. From looking at the project page, I take it that Mara Jade Skywalker is the intended main focus now? I'll take a look through it over the next day or so, and see what I can do to contribute. Let me know if there's anything specific that you think needs done. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 20:54, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Palpatine and Lucas's bad mathEdit

I'm glad you read the making-of stuff; a little something I'm working on for inclusion into the Palpatine "behind the scenes" section - a section detailing the evolution of the character from the beginning (1973) to his last film (2005). If I included it, would you object? Do you think anyone else would? Is it too much? Please do let me know.

As far as Lucas's abilities in math are concerned, I'm not touching it. Not gonna do it. :P Erik Pflueger 20px 18:07, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

  • What about a simplified version that we can then link to a far more detailed version? The way things are going, with the sheer amount of details that need inclusion, that's probably how the page is gonna generally go anyway... Erik Pflueger 20px 19:26, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Why NOT use it in the biography sections? To be honest, that's where we'll need it most. If such branching articles were in the main body of the Clone Wars article - the biography of the war, if you will - they ought to be so included in the main body - the biography - of the Palpatine article. The amount of information needed to make the article complete is only going to get larger, not smaller. To meet the needs of my critics, who honestly like detail but don't want to be confronted with an article that's just too intimidating to read, this is the most sensible solution. They get a page that is a reasonable size, and I get all my detail - all of which is canon - in anyway. Everybody's happy. It's been proposed before, and I've changed enough to feel it may be the most workable solution. I'm not saying a decision has to be made this minute, but it should be seriously considered. Don't you think? :) Erik Pflueger 20px 19:53, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Protected image Edit

Can I get you to unlock File:Thoseabouttojediwesaluteyou.JPG for just a minute so I can tag it to Luke Skywalker? Thanks. - JMAS 21:11, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Weird, even unprotected, it won't let me tag it. When I click the link, I get a pop up saying I don't have the rights to do this action. Thanks for trying. - JMAS 21:20, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
    • There we go. Thanks. All done. - JMAS 21:27, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Can I get you to unprotect one more image for me. File:Jedi_Order.svg - I shrank it down a tiny bit to despeckle, and touched up the color. Now I just need to upload it. Thanks. - JMAS 17:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I think it might need to be fully unprotected again. I'm trying to upload the image to overwrite it, and it's saying it's a protected page still. - JMAS 17:20, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Nope, still not working for me. Getting Upload Warning: Protected page when I try. I tried logging out, clearing cookies and cache, and logging back in. Still didn't work. - JMAS 17:31, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, don't worry about that. It's good to have a diversity of mods; softer mods moderate harder mods and it works out to everyone's advantage. I certainly don't hold anything against you. Havac 23:58, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Recently I've had some problems with my userpage being vandalized, I fixed all the changes I could find, but I'd like appropriate action to be taken against the culprits. I really don't want people messing with something I worked hard on. Thanks. JethLordMasterYing yang copy (Talk) 20:31, 26 June 2007 (UTC-8)

I have Allegiance, but haven't had the chance to finish it. What I've read so far doesn't really hint that Palpatine has a strong role in it. But my mandate is this: EVERYTHING about Palpatine gets into that article in one way or another. Everything. (That's one reason I suggested the branching articles). So yes, Allegiance will get in there. Plus, how much can be added if you only have the book for a couple of days? Don't exert yourself just because you're under a time crunch. I'll get it. Mara Jade SkywalkerEdit

Hey Ataru. I sat down to do some work on MJS and I began thinking: should we combine the "Talents" and "Personality" sections into simply "Personality and traits"? Let me know what you think, and either way I'll put something together which flows better. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 16:49, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Concerning Voss Parck=Edit

Ataru, I looked at the revisions Jack did. Honestly, what did he do wrong? He did clean-up; nothing more. In other words, he did exactly what we want him to do and what we most appreciate him for. So really, what is your objection to him being there? Simply because this was the article that lit the fuse on this whole dispute, and you're worried his very presence there will just pour more gasoline on the fire? I can understand your point of view if that IS what it's about. But in all honesty, how do you see him being required to behave now that he is back? To be here but be neither seen nor heard from? Is that what's supposed to make people happy, to placate them? If so, any reasonable man would find it intolerable, especially since it would be a wasted effort anyway. Some people won't BE made happy, won't BE placated; nothing will satisfy them except his absolute and irrevocable banishment. I'd accept his getting a REASONABLE term of punishment - which, in my strictly personal opinion, he got - and then being allowed to stay pending his future good behavior, but if that good behavior is to be defined strictly as being here but doing nothing, then let's not waste our time or Jack's time by lying to him. It's bad enough that people want his career here killed; let's spare him the death of a thousand cuts.

For that matter, even once this debate is over, you'll have to be on your guard as an admin. If I were one of those who wanted him gone, I'd still do everything in my power to get him gone, vote or no vote. It'd be possible; I'd lure Jack into a situation where he would be compelled to reverse some edit or other, and then back and forth, and then I could go to you and claim he violated the 3RR rule and demand his permanent banning and pressure the admins until I got it. I won't insult the opposition by saying that they WILL do that or would even WANT to do that, but I am saying that as an admin, you'll have to be aware of the complete context of any such complaint and be prepared to call the accuser on it if it's hinky. That's all.

There's one thing Jack does that I don't like, but it has little to do with him and more to do with a general rule that he is constrained to enforce because that's what his job is; he changes "galaxy" to "Galaxy." There's NO Star Wars source I ever read, or at least bearely any, that refers to the Star Wars galaxy with a capital G. I SO want that rule changed, it's not funny. Perhaps you could look into that? Thanks. Erik Pflueger 20px 03:53, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I will always appreciate your position, so long as you do the same for me. If I'm to do my duty here, I must continue to be honest and open to you. I think we can agree that this HAS gone way too far, and for far too long. It would indeed be best for everyone if the whole issue just went away; it interferes with the peaceful and orderly functioning of this Wiki. You would be happy to allow it to vanish, and would I, as would many people. My sole point is that there are some who seem, based on their actions thus far, to NOT want the issue to go away until they have what they want: Jack, gone. I don't have to name the names of those admins whio have long wanted him gone; you probably already know who they are. But I think you also know that the pettiness you decry is now theirs, not yours, not mine. Jack has been petty too, but the man's eaten enough humble pies to fill a bakery. All this is now just an example of kicking a man when he's down; the personal attacks are theirs, disguised as their fulfilling their functions as admins. The moment Jack's enemies stop their pointless crusade, the matter will vanish. Erik Pflueger 20px 19:18, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Inq: SoloEdit

Hey. I am finally able to edit extensively after those entrance exams during those months and in June. It was nice to find the Anakin Solo article still pinned with the star. Much of which, I've noticed, is due to you and Jaina Solo. So I thank you for your effort :), and I apologize for being able to help you out there. (Which, reminds me, I should thank Jaina Solo as well.) —Mirlen 14:55, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Mara's Personality and traitsEdit

Hey Ataru, I finished writing the P&T section for our friend, Mara. If you could take a look over it, and let me know if that's what you had in mind, that would be great. Also, you'll probably notice that I kept her *skills* (ex. slicing, piloting, infiltration, lightsaber combat, etc.) separate from the P&T, instead choosing to focus on her actual character instead. I did that simply because, all the skills and talents and whatnot that I would usually write into a P&T section, I'm going to write into the Talents section. However, if you have/had any other ideas on how it should be done, I'm of course, all ears :D. I also wrote the first paragraph in the Talents section to give you an idea of what I had in mind. Hope all is well, Cheers. Greyman(Paratus) 02:20, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Mara and Jedi Academy Edit

I'm working on it, the good thing is that I really only have to read I,Jedi because it goes over everything that happens in the Jedi Academy trilogy. I've started it, so it shouldn't take too long. I will try to work faster, sorry about the delay. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 18:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Oh, I forgot about Lando flirting with her. Rats. Oh, well. I'll look out for that quote, I'm about at that part. I'm just really skimming it to find Mara references. When I'm done with that I'll pull out JA. Thanks for reminding me. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 19:06, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I got the quote about medicine and finished pretty much everything she does in IJ. I don't know where you'd put it, but here's the gist of it:
"Sithspawn! Don't ever go into medicine."
"You're welcome, Horn.
―Corran and Mara after setting Corran's broken arm[src]

Will work on JA now. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 19:40, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I think I got all the info in there. Could you give it a check to make sure? Thanks. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Champions of the Force was the only book that didn't contain info already in in I, Jedi. At least, I'm pretty sure of that. Anything else? -Solus (Bird of Prey) 21:00, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Profile Edit

My custom standards on my profile aren't going to be there forever. Besides, I had a chat to a few admins and they seem fine. I am willing to contribute with all my effort and be associated in any given task by the admins. I would like to run for administrator so I can fix up a few things around here. The rules need to be bent a bit but maximum rollbacks are needed as we speak. There are vandals everywhere. Would you kindly nominate me to be a rollback? Thanks Excelior

Thankyou Edit

Thanks anyway. I have gained a very well known knowledge on Wookieepedia and I will soon earn your respect and gratitude. --Excelior

Improving the Jar'Kai article Edit

Hey, Atarumaster, I am trying to improve the Niman/Jar'Kai article, I'm trying to do this by putting a seperate gallery for possible users, like the one in the Double-bladed lightsaber combat article. Can you help me with this, cause when I try to put up the gallery, it's acting up. I haven't been a member for a long time, so I don't know the ins and outs on how to improve an article, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!--Jedi Kasra 15:14, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Nevermind, turns out I was doing something wrong. Any way, I made some improvements on the article. Check it out and tell me on my talk page what you think! Thanks!--Jedi Kasra 00:34, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Sorry, I'm so naive. What is "P.O.V."?--Jedi Kasra 16:20, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Hey, Atarumaster, I have a question. Since I created the "Possible users" gallery in the Niman/Jar'Kai article, do we really need to put the "(Possible)" word by a character such as the Exile, since she and the other characters that are possible users are already in the respective gallery?--Jedi Kasra 20:51, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
  • O.K., thanks. I thought it would be a good idea to create one, since there were too many "Possible" users listed with the confirmed users, so I just made a gallery like the one in the saberstaff article.--Jedi Kasra 21:01, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Alright. But I have to disagree with you on the "if you use two blades, you're using Jar'Kai" thing. In fact as far as I know the only source in the Old Republic, New Jedi Order era and the Legacy era where it explicitly calls Jar'Kai "Jar'Kai" is the book Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines, and it says that it invloves using a ordinary lightsaber and a shoto. It is ironic that I would go to lengths trying to improve the article, considering I HATE with a passion this form of lightsaber combat.--Jedi Kasra 21:33, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Yeah, in the game X-Wing Alliance there's a pair of swords called "Jar'Kai dueling sabers" and it was also in a Wizards of the Coast supplement, but I meant that Tempest is the only recent source which calls Jar'Kai "Jar'Kai" outright. I was mistaken about it being mentioned in Bloodlines, it's definitely mentioned in Legacy of the Force: Tempest. In my opinion, if authors want the characters they are writing about to use two blades, they should be clear on whether the characters are using Jar'Kai or just two blades.--Jedi Kasra 21:48, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Essentila Guide to the Force? Tell me more about this upcoming book, please.--Jedi Kasra 22:05, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

G-canon doesn't override NPOV?Edit

I'm no good with IRC channels, so if you don't mind I'd like to resolve this on the talk page.

1) Would you mind directing me to the relevant policies and guidelines where this thing about the POV of creators not having a place on Wookieepedia is written?

2) Doesn't upholding NPOV over canon run contrary to this Wiki's purpose? Some would even call that fanon or original research.

3) What of the canonical POV's we do uphold? Like the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook's claim to the Potentium being misguided. Are these still canoncial facts, only Wookieepedia is sworn to uphold NOPV, and thus cannot include them; or do we not recognize creator POV as canon? Either way, I can hear the fanon alarmclocks ringing in the distance. DarthMRN 17:44, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Well is it factual text, but I just went through it, and the first thing that struck me was that should I put any of this in an article, with direct references and all, it would be anything but NPOV. In fact, a lot of SWRPG material will be rendered useless if NOPV overrides canon. And quite frankly, I don't see how GL's opinion on the Empire as evil is any less factual than the RPG authors opinion on the Potentium as wrong is. The latter may have been a BTS call by the VIPs, but both are official opinions on something in-universe. If we embrace one, we must embrace all. DarthMRN 14:02, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I know we don't decide upon canon, and that licensed stuff are canon, regardless of Wookieepedia's acknowledgement of it. Did I give a different impression? But we still need to be coherent in our treatment of canon. Would it, for example, be okay for me to write in the Potentium article "Some sources describe the Potentium as a misguided philosophy (ref Power of the Jedi Sourcebook ref)"? Or to write "Some sources describe the Empire as an evil government (ref AHN ref)"? How do we treat canonical opinions? From what you are telling me, we cannot declare them truth according to NPOV, but surely we can include them as the opinions of sources or people: "Yoda viewed the Force as divided into two parts, a light and a dark side (ref ESB ref), while Darth Sidious viewed the Force as a single whole, just with different uses (ref Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter ref). We here have the problem that if we do not acknowledge author opinions as a superior "truth", and indeed refuse to include them, they are no more worth than the opinons of a character. For example: SWRPG is C-canon. Let's say Potentium Jedi X appears in a comic (C-canon) and says "The Potentium is the correct view of the Force". If we treat opinions as nothing more, then by C-canon vs. C-canon reasoning, the statements of any old Jawa will be enough to challenge the views of factual text. On Wookieepedia, that is. Not because the official folks intended that, but because we don't hold official opinions as truth for the sake of NPOV. You understand what I am saying here? If we treat official opinion as no more canon than the source they appear in, or worse, neglext to include them in the first place, we are no longer recoding official canon, but our own twisted version of it. DarthMRN 14:45, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
      • To sum up: As recorders of IU, we only acknowledge IU. That means information from interviews, RPG sourcebooks, Essential Guides and Opening Crawls can only be included in BTS sections. Correct? Otherwise you will have to make an argument for why an opinion from a G-canon opening crawl is less worth than those in a C-canon factual text. I am sure you can both see where I am going with this. Consistency or policy amendments are the only two options, as far as I can see. DarthMRN 16:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
        • Why is the opening crawl considered OOU? What happened to "for the real truth about SW, you must look to the movies, and only the movies"? And what makes the RPG sourcebooks IU? They certainly aren't written that way. Honestly it sounds like there are certain established opinions on how to treat these things, but until those are commited to policy through a CT, we are at an impasse here. For the suggestions you are making does nothing to clarify for me how to decide what to include in an article, and how to include it. DarthMRN 16:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
          • Lets pretend what you say was policy. I am an editor. The rule I have to go by is: only canon and IU information is supposed to go in articles. After editing the Empire article, I am told that the opening crawl of AHN represents narration, and thus is canon, but not IU. Going by policy, I can only agree to that. And then I look in a novel and see the author describe Ewoks as dirty and disguisting. Again, the opinion of an author is canon, but not IU, so that has no place in the article either. But then I look in the Essential Guide to Vehicles. The information there is not written in a IU manner, even including terms like Old Republic and Star Wars Galaxy, which are specific OOU terms. By policy, I am thus not supposed to include any information from this book, because it isn't IU information. I look in any SWRPG rulebook, and see that it isnt written in a IU manner either. Yet few sources contain so clear and consise answers regarding canon, so it would be a positive shame to not be able to include them. Yet by policy, I cannot. DarthMRN 17:15, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
            • This is a problem, Ataru. The 'IU only' solution have far too many exceptions to it to serve as an efficient guideline for editors. And what is worse, the ones who know of this informal rule for tratement of 'canon but OOU sources', namely veterans and admins, are the ones to revert well-meaning edits, but they cannot provide a policy or guideline supporting their claim. It is not that I find your suggestions flawed. If we are to stay NPOV and IU, but at the same time include as much of canon as possible, I see no other way to do it than to have a general rule, with many exceptions. But we need to take this to the CT and clarify what those exceptions are, don't you think? Otherwise, I cannot as an editor make contributions because I don't know where the invisible line goes. DarthMRN 17:15, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
              • The only OOU information that doesn't have a place on Wookieepedia are creator opinions. That is a wonderful guideline. But since apparently it has not been community sanctioned, and is only a guideline according to you, a CT seems perfectly in order. DarthMRN 17:46, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
                • But as I said on the CT, that guideline forces us to make judgment calls on what is and what isn't a creator opinion. DarthMRN 17:58, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Listen. WP:NPOV is Wookieepedia policy. And it disallows calling things "evil", regardless of what opening crawls say. This is indisputable and isn't going to change. If you don't like this, go away. - Sikon 15:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
    • If that is an admission of Wookieepedia holding wiki interests above canon, I can live with that. Good to hear it spoken out loud. DarthMRN 16:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Opinions, including Lucas's opinions, aren't canon. Only facts, which are verifiable bits of objective information, can be assigned a canonical status. However, if it really means that to you, I won't argue. Believe what you want, but this is how the policy works. - Sikon 16:55, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
        • Can you prove that creator opinions aren't canon, Sikon? DarthMRN 17:59, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Critique Edit

  • Well, as far as I can see, the Life as a Jedi section of Ferus is done, and fully sourced and referenced. However, this is my first time at the FA-writing business, so I'd appreciate it if you'd look it over, and give me any suggestions you have, Ataru. Let me know if I need to source a statement or if there's too much of a play-by-play in one section. I'll be at a camp until August 11th, though, so take your time. I'll look at your suggestions and see if anything needs to be fixed when I get back. Keep up the good work, and thanks. Hobbes15(Tiger Headquarters) 05:38, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Atauru, could you please block Darth Whatever? On the Good Article Nomination Page, he called me a 'critic' for opposing Pi=3's nomination. Then he twice removed the speedy delete template from Mesa (gungan word), which I added because the article was not necessary, sloppily written and OOU. I didn't want to have to ask someone to do this, but Darth Whatever has been a nuiscanse and a disruption from the start, an already has a warning for numerous things. 20px TheOne&OnlyAdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 20:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Sorry to post on your talk page once again, I'm having troubles with the IRC, so I'm not sure if you got my message. I'm not saying that "critic" is an insult as such, my point is that it's completely unfounded and unnecessary. I'm not claiming he violated WP:NPA, I'm just using it as an example of how he is disruptive and a nuiscanse. 20px TheOne&OnlyAdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 21:06, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Im not making nonsense articles. Darth Whatever
  • Whatever.Note:Maybe admins like you should rethink your deletion log. Darth Whatever
  • I'm sorry, did you just threaten Ataru? -- SFH 21:52, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Make an article worth keeping, then. I have yet to see an admin delete an article of yours that I wouldn't have deleted if I'd gotten to it first; and, looking over the deletion logs, Ataru *hasn't* deleted one of your articles, so maybe you should be the one rethinking things. jSarek 21:59, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Ever heard of anyone can edit? Darth Whatever
      • Yes we have, thanks for pointing that out. Vandals can edit too, but they get banned. Users can create pointless articles as well—but they get deleted. So, if you're going to edit, then do quality edits, because you've now got three administrators watching you (That's Ataru, JSarek, and SFH, just in case it's unclear), and I assume they'll be watching your future actions here with great interest. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 22:15, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
  • On a related note, Whatever has started clogging up the 'pedia with unfounded accusations of personal attacks, as per my Talk Page. Honestly, I'm sick of more of this Wookiee-drama starring Darth Whatever, and I strongly encourage someone to end it, permanently. π = 3 40px (Talk to me, babe.) 04:39, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Ataru, make that 4 admins and one more user including Pi and I. If he so much as makes one more mistake, I'm banning him for at least 6 months. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:30, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
      • I agree with you. Darth Whatever just drives me nuts just by reading his contributions and the recent changes. I also agree that Users Imperialwalker and Moneymoney who were banned come from the same IP address though Moneymoney may be a separate individual living in the same household, probably a sibbling. However, we should ban him infinitely after he makes another mistake rather than 6 months. He's just like the late Quinlanfan. Zainal 08:14, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Whats the fun if i feal im being watched?Doesnt seem make me feel like an outlaw.Feels like i cant edit. Darth Whatever

Re: Senate Hall postEdit

Darth Whatever added fanon, and is an all-out vandal. He keeps adding terrible articles for GA, and not editing them a bit. He's come close to breaking NPA when it comes to Ack, and he's a disruption to the community. Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers!) 20:43, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey Edit

Hey dude i just created 3 new useful articles. How do you like them? Darth Whatever

RE: IFFP 2 Edit

You are very welcome for the help. And I thank you for being so patient with me, it took me far too long to get around to it. I'm sorry I can't help you with the NJO thing, the only reason I have the books of it that I do is because it came with the lot of books I got dirt cheap. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 16:07, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Mara and her blasted ships :PEdit

Hey Ataru, some stuff at home came up tonight which required my attention, so I was unable to sit down and actually concentrate on Mara's ship section. *However*, I am planning on taking this Thursday off, so I'll get it done then. Just thought I'd let you know that I hadn't forgot. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 02:28, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Darth Krayt and the lightsaber styles Edit

Hey, Atarumaster, if you head over to the Dark Horse Message Boards in the Star Wars section, if you look under the forum called, "A Darth Krayt for John and Jan." Jan Duursema actually ansewrs my question regarding Darth Krayt and the styles he wields {that is whether he is a master of one blade, two blades, and the saberstaff.} the address is Tell me what you think on my talk page and also tell me if this good enough to mention on the double-bladed lightsaber combat article. Thanks!--Jedi Kasra 20:50, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Sorry, about that, I've edited the address above by adding the "/boards/" part to it, and by correcting the misspelling of "viewtopic". Try it again.--Jedi Kasra 02:36, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Just tried it after fixing it. The link's O.K. now.--Jedi Kasra 02:39, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Hey, Atarumaster, can you put the thread under the new "Notes and references" section on the Darth Krayt article? I put a link besides the paragraph I added in the "Behind the Scenes" section, I just can't put anything under notes and references for some reason. Thanks.--Jedi Kasra 22:18, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Heh heh heh.... Edit

That little twit over on the fanon wiki gave me a 6 month ban (of course, the box placed on my user page said it was only for 3 days, so who knows). I wish I could record a laugh and post it on a wiki page. ;) Jwebb13HoloNet30px 22:08, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I don't just "not mind" it. I love it. But if you could be a bit more specific -- anything you want in particular? It doesn't look that bad at a glance -- though the image captions could use some serious work. Havac 00:15, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

"Took chase"Edit

"Took chase" is definitely a grammatically correct phrase. An idiom but it's for real. Doesn't really matter that much one way or the other what's in the article, just letting you know. - breathesgelatinTalk 08:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

  • 'sall good! It may be more common in British usage, possibly, but like I said it doesn't matter to me re: Winter's article. "Give/gave chase" is a similar phrase... - breathesgelatinTalk 21:39, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey Ataru, when I woke up this morning I noticed you had tried pinging me a couple times last night. I didn't see the whole conversation, because it was old enough that ChatZilla deleted it, but if you still need something of me I should be in-and-out of IRC today while I'm at work. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 11:20, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your help with Gantu!—DarthtylerTalk 16:36, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I'll get to work.—DarthtylerTalk 16:40, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Don't worry Edit

I have no interest in pushing things any further, especially not here (this wiki actually means something to me). The whole thing's dead to me, and I'm sorry if things stressed you out at all. Have a good one, and I'll talk to you again soon, my friend. Jwebb13HoloNet30px 20:37, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Like I said, he's just not important enough to stress over, especially the way this week's gone. How's this for a 29th birthday present: I may be autistic, and no one ever noticed. Can't wait to see how this one turns out.... ;)

Starfighter Combat Edit

I've done what I can for Starfighter combat to address your objections. If you could and when you have time, please have a look at the article to see if it passes muster for GA status.--Goodwood 20:29, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

      • Now that you've fixed the intro I've fixed the paragraph in question to bring it more in line with what is stated by the sources used (X-wing strat guide, Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, 2nd Ed.).--Goodwood 17:52, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

The Exile and the "Lost Jedi". Edit

Is the Exile training Bao-Dur, Atton, Mira, and the Disciple considered canonical? If so, couldn't we put them and Kreia as practitioners of Shii-Cho, Makashi, and Soresu?--Jedi Kasra 22:02, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, how about Visas Marr or Kreia? Since they already have "Jedi" and "Sith" training, they automatically receive the forms listed above at Levels 11-14. And there is another thing I wanted to talk to you about. Why are Vrook Lamar and Zez-Kai Ell listed as practitioners of Juyo and Niman? They don't teach the Exile those forms, only Kavar has the ability to teach you those forms, and Vrook and Zez-Kai Ell only are able to teach you Ataru and Shien.--Jedi Kasra 01:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
  • But isn't the strategy guide to the game considered canonical? If it is, then tha would imply that Vrook and Zez-Kai Ell were only masters of Ataru and Shien, and Kavar was onlly a master of Ataru. Plus, about the order she {the Exile} visited the planets, Chris Avellone comments in Electronic Gamiong Monthly #189 that he would go to the planets in the order of, "Nar Shaddaa, Dxun, Onderon, Dantooine, Korriban, back to Dxun/Onderon, and than to the end. And if you think about it, the Exile, in order to gain influence with all her companions properly, should follow this order.--Jedi Kasra 01:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Permablocking whole IP ranges that aren't proxies Edit

On the block log, I saw that you permablocked an IP range just because a vandal lurks there, even though it's not an open proxy. Don't you think that's rather harsh? Usually, a 3, 6 month, or even a year block would suffice. That would get the vandal to get his act together. Please change the block of Thank you. -- 00:56, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Well isn't this a pleasant surprise. The permanent block was actually a bit unusual, but Ataru doesn't often do range blocks. I'll edit it somewhat, since this is actually a valid issue. It would be better in the future to think of less obnoxious ways to get your point across. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 00:59, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Thanks for changing the block. My apologies to the both of you. Guess I'll go back to the Light Side now. -- 01:14, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Article Request Edit

Couldn't we have an article about the visions in Ludo Kressh's tomb to the Jedi Exile?--Jedi Kasra 01:15, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Except he's banned from Wookieepedia. Who else would know?--Jedi Kasra 01:25, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. Edit

In Need Of Help Edit

Hi There I Noticed that you have a Few Sub pages and was just wondering how you made them if you could help me it would be much appreciated thanks The Dark Lord (Embrace The Dark Side!)20px 08:33, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Inq requestEdit

Hi Ataru. I have nominated Battle of Coruscant (Clone Wars) for FA, trying to restore it, as it looks like Darth Bane might not make it. Could you please check it out if you are able to? Thank you so much. Chack Jadson Talk 17:03, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Thank you. Don't feel the need to rush yourself though. Once again, always nice dealing with you :) Chack Jadson Talk 17:08, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
    • What specifically should I source in the infobox? I've been sourcing basically everything not referenced in the article, like Open Circle and Confederate Navy Group 2. Chack Jadson Talk 01:04, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Okay, thanks. Chack Jadson Talk 14:07, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
        • Hey Ataru, replying to your comments on the FA page. Anyway, I sourced everything in the infobox that's not sourced in the article. If you want me to go ahead and source everything, that's fine, I just thought it was unnecessary. Regarding the contradictions about Nelvaan and Tythe, Anakin and Obi-Wan went to Tythe, then Nelvaan, as established by Leland Chee. It was just poor phrasing that led to that misunderstanding, and I fixed that. Chack Jadson Talk 23:49, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Articles Edit

If you look at the underwear article you can see where they are called that. They are called those in both of the knights of the old republic video games and other sources. I know for sure brassieres and underpants are called just that in the knights of the old republic games. Anzati02 02:36, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

listen man, I saw that they were in red so I created the articles. If it wasnt for the person who put them there I would never have created them. You warned me and before I could change it you deleted it. And where did you find the entire dialogue for KOTOR one and two? Anzati02 02:46, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

I just read what you said about me on the deletion log. That is not true. What kind of sick person would do that? I was just trying to help expand wookieepedia. You could have given me a chance to fix it instead of deleting it right away and being so rude about it. Anzati02 02:53, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Dont chew me out about it. I just filled in the blank articles. Anzati02 02:56, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

If you want to chew someone out about it. User:Azizlight created the underwear article and added those redlinks in there. All I did was fill in the blank articles. So go bother him about it. Dont blame me. Anzati02 03:03, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Oh, and one more thing, the word underwear does not appear in the dialouge. It is on the clothing selection screen. Can you give me a link to where you found the "Entire" game dialouge?Anzati02 03:06, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay, where do you find the entire game dialogue? Could you tell me how to find it?Anzati02 16:52, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Some guy named greyman has locked the underwear page because he says I vandalized it. Since when did putting cannon information in articles become vandalizing?Anzati02 00:45, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey Ataru, it's been handled. It was my mistake, faciliated by a miscommunication through IRC. I hope your weekend is going well. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 01:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Edit

Thanks for your help with the sub pages also i didnt know that my signiture needed my full user name in it some were so thanks for pointing it out i thought that you only needed part of it hence The Dark Lord. Dark Lord Xander (Embrace The Dark Side!)20px 08:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Danni Quee article Edit

Good day, Ataru. I'm noticing that three of us are working on the Danni Quee article concurrently. I will be happy to wait a little while if you think we might be overriding corrections each time we hit edit. Just let me know and I'd be happy to wait. I'm trying to fix up the article so it can be featured - basically, just grammatical things and prosefrom. Thanks. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet) 25px 14:15, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello again, Atarumaster. I wanted to ask about the status of the Danni Quee article. I went to the FA page and saw it removed. After trying to work hard on that page I was hoping it wouldn't have been done in vain. I can still work on it, if you think it needs work. I was only able to make a couple of overhaul revisions to the grammar. Anyway, thanks for the time. I hope I'm able to help bring it to featured status if it isn't already. Thanks. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet) 25px 14:17, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

  • My lack of foresight embarrasses me. I didn't even think about checking the FA queue. Sorry about that. How is the article changed to reflect that, though ? I don't see a big gray box at the top of the page like there was during the nomination. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet) 25px 14:31, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Okay. That's good to know. I'm sorry for the trouble due to my inexperience here. I'm glad it got the status - it is a good article. Hopefully I'll be able to work with you on others in the future. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet) 25px 14:44, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey Ataru, I've been working on Project Wormhead, changing "Skywalker" to "Luke", grammar, that kind of thing. I'll be sourcing + expanding later, maybe you should check out User: Jediknight19bby/Rewrites to see what I'm done. Maybe you could tell me when you think it's ready for FA nom. Thanks, Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers!) 14:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

RE: WOTM nom Edit

Thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 23:34, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I can try. Never done a relationships section before, but it'll be nice having Luke's and Lando's at least partially done. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 17:04, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Jack Nebulax Edit

User:Jack Nebulax has been directing offensive and abusive comments against me. 12:31, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I know I've been a little wierd with FAs and GAs lately. Well, I did some work to Jedi Master. I'm going to remove the 'we're doomed' template, and I struck my vote on it for ID. If it doesn't get 2 votes by the 9th, it won't be ID. It meets all GA criteria, so I was wondering if you'd give it your stamp of approval and let me go ahead and nom it for GA. Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers!) 18:16, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Having links in references. Edit

I thought there wasn't a policy at all on whether or not to put links in references. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 21:58, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: FA ObjectionsEdit

Sorry man, honest mistake. I thought I'd seen others do it, and figured it was ok. No need to get snippy. Gonk (Gonk!) 15:16, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Mara Jade Relationships Edit

I'm so sorry it took this long, but I finally got up the relationships on Mara; or, at least, the parts I know about, I'm not 100% on the NJO and Swarm War stuff, so I can't do much about that. I'm sorry I'm such a procrastinator... -Solus (Bird of Prey) 22:11, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

More MaraEdit

Thanks! I assume you just mean to give references to all the paragraphs in the DN3 section? Looking at the coding, I didn't have the initial TJK ref in the right place, either. Getting onto that now. --McEwok 09:54, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Winter etc.Edit

I think I cleared out the Winter objections. You might still want something more on the Rogue Squadron returning to the Alliance thing but I don't know exactly what you're looking for. Let me know what you think. It seems some of your objections got struck without actually being resolved, so I'm not sure if it's finished or not.

I'm going to the library in a moment and then coming back home to work on Wedge/Mara. I'll be around this evening so feel free to contact me on any of the various protocols and/or IRC. - breathesgelatinTalk 22:20, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: Ferus Edit

  • Thanks, Ataru. That kind of lookover was exactly what I was looking for. It's better to get the stuff done now rather than be overwhelmed when the whole community looks at it on the FAN page, so I'll try to get on that. My one question is, what is copyediting? Is there a page on it on Wikipedia? Other than that, it's beautiful. I appreciate the help. Thanks again, and keep up the good work. Hobbes15(Tiger Headquarters) 01:31, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

GA Edit

And I struck them...or do I have to strike the whole thing? Heh -- moving the </s> now... ;o)--Goodwood 21:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey Ataru. Thanks for the banner and the warm wishes :) Greyman(Paratus) 21:25, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Trash compactorEdit

I noticed you closed a bunch of TC votes recently. Is that one of your "official" chores now? If yes, is Sikon's no-vote system actually an officially implemented "Wookiee-law", or are we allowed to just vote if we want to? I'm asking, since his system seems to be applied to some TC pages, but not to others, which is slightly confusing. KEJ 11:24, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the reply. Keep up the good TC work ;-) KEJ 19:47, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

No problem, I'll look after those concerns for you; I'll also keep a closer eye on Mara and address any objections that may arise. Hope all is well and God bless, Greyman(Paratus) 13:53, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Starfighter combat Edit

I was wondering if you would be so kind as to give this article a review and either support or add objections as needed. Only one more Inq vote is needed tor it to achieve Featured status. Thanks in advance...--Goodwood 23:18, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey Ataru. Goodwood contacted me through other means (since he's currently blocked from editing) and asked me to insert a sentence or two into Starfighter combat with regards to Shield trios. I simply cut and pasted it from what Goodwood provided me. So, if you have any other ideas with regards to Shield trios, I'm assuming Goodwood will see them if you put them on FAN page and we'll go from there :) Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 22:34, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Why can't I help with the spelling/grammar of Wormhead? I speak English well, that's enough to help fix typos, not bringing 27 articles to FA. Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers) 17:36, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Okay. I didn't really know Wormhead wasn't different from NEGTC, but, thinking about it, most of the contributors to it are admins/Inqs who've brought articles to at least GA status. I'm focusing most on Lando Calrissian's sourcing, I've got that under control. Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers) 21:23, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Shmi Skywalker Lars Edit

Not a problem; however, it still needs a lot of work. Jaina Solo(Talk) 23:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey, it's Rhea over from Star Wars Fanon.
