Re: Comics

Hey Brandon, please see the Layout Guide: "For comics, link to the individual issue, unless a subject appears in every issue of a story arc." The "story arc" can also be a comic miniseries, so Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir should be listed for any subject that appears in all four issues. Hope that helps. No problem. I have the digital version. Alexrd (talk) 14:53, May 23, 2014 (UTC)

Re:Order 66

Hey, Brandon, you're right about those two episodes -- I totally forgot about "Clone Protocol 66" (ugh). As for A New Hope, I still believe that he's referring to the Great Jedi Purge, even though there isn't a canonical version of it yet. However, until it becomes canon once again, we could leave the Order 66/Canon link alone. JangFett (Talk) 16:38, May 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Brandon. Would you mind me nominating you for WOTM this month? You've been doing some excellent work on the canon articles. 501st dogma(talk) 15:01, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi. I'm flattered that you asked. It's probably too soon considering I've only been actively editing for 2 weeks or so now, and I'm sure there are far more deserving people than me, but if you feel strongly about it then I won't say no. :) - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:06, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, glad to see you being more active on Wookieepedia. :) Just want to make you aware that when adding references, the preferred form is a lowercase "ref", such as in this fix. While MediaWiki may not care, bots do, and so we strive for consistency in formatting to simplify bot work. So it would be appreciated if you would use a lowercase "r" from now on. Thanks! :)

  • Sure. Can't guarantee I won't occasionally (and inadvertently) use upper case out of habit, though. I've always used upper case R since, like you said, it doesn't make a difference in MediaWiki. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:05, June 19, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you and to tell you this on that wiki but i found out a suckpuppet of at least 10 account. Could you come here?: Jarjarkine StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Senate Hall 18:20, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

  • Can you send this as a report to Special:Contact? That's where I/Wikia staff handle that sort of thing. As this is my talk page on Wookieepedia, and I consider myself a user here first and foremost, I'd rather not use my talk page for staff matters. This is noted on the message at the top of my talk page. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:24, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

New Canon

Thank you so much for answering my questions. But there are still some things I'm stuck with. I always thought that the EU was separate from TCW since TCW was T-canon before this change in April, meaning it was more canonical than the EU, but less than the movies. So wouldn't TCW just be under one continuity (canon), since it sounds like they transferred TCW and the films over to the new canon and everything else made before this new change would be under the Legends banner, right? Darth Pythonis CIS roundel (Talk) 02:55, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

  • Prior to the EU becoming non-canon, everything under G-canon, T-canon, and C-canon, and S-canon (provided it did not contradict higher levels of canon) were all considered one continuity, despite being weighted differently. The Clone Wars was a higher level of canon than, say, The New Jedi Order book series, but—prior to April 25th—they were still part of the same continuity. So post-April 25th, and despite The Clone Wars being official canon and The New Jedi Order being Legends, The Clone Wars still exists in that same Legends continuity because it was in that continuity prior to April 25th. Put simply, canon stories released before April 25th are still part of Legends, but Legends stories are not part of canon. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:03, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
    • Yeah it's starting to make some sense. I just thought that canon and Legends were mutually exclusive but as you explained it, they tended to overlap, like in the case of TCW. Ugh why did they do this? It's just making a bigger mess. But thanks again for helping me understand all of this, hopefully.--Darth Pythonis CIS roundel (Talk) 03:12, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
      • No problem! I was actually in favor of the EU becoming non-canon, but to each their own (I definitely sympathize with the disagreements). I'm happy to answer any other questions you have about this. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:16, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
        • Well actually, I'm not an EU fan at all and could care less about most of the EU becoming non-canon and I actually wanted the original CW series and the Clone Wars-related material before TCW to become non-canon, but not everything though like the Old Republic and Darth Bane since I doubt Disney will cover these time periods, and if they do I'm afraid they will make it worse. But what has confused me the most is TCW being under Legends too when they said it's canon. When I'm thinking of Legends, I'm thinking of non-canon, which doesn't fit TCW. I feel that Legends should be everything non-canon, and Canon for everything confirmed as still canon. It's bizarre that some things are overlapping and in two totally different continuities.--Darth Pythonis CIS roundel (Talk) 03:45, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
          • You can't really remove the 6 live-action films and The Clone Wars from the Legends continuity, or else the Legends continuity wouldn't make any sense. Most of it is based around the characters of the films. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:49, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Brandon. Sorry it took me so long to reply—I've had a lot of other commitments limiting my time on the site. I've emailed the transcript to you, so let me know if you have any questions. CC7567 (talk) 09:31, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

Sound files

If this wiki doesn't use sound effect audio files, why has there been one on the first Death Star page as well? It's been there as long as I can remember; nobody's said anything about it or deleted it yet. Why is mine 'unqualified?' 150px|link=user:iteachvader 21:07, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey Iteachvader. Sound effect files can be used, just not linked to in the text like that (sorry for the incomplete edit summary). The template used to link to audio files makes the text choppy due to including additional links, like "help" and "info." I've confirmed this with an administrator as well. I've therefore removed it from DS-1 Orbital Battle Station, so thanks for pointing that out. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:04, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

Re Coco

Thanks. By the way, feel free to look over any additions I've made to the Coruscant/Canon article and correct spelling/grammar as needed. That seems simpler then leaving a message for me to go back and fix it and then waiting till I get around to it. :) Coruscantfan (Talk) 22:20, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

  • I plan on still adding sections for "Inhabitants" and "Locations". I've covered most of the major story arches in the "History" section but if you want to add more to it or flush out certain areas go right ahead. Basically anything that is there currently you can add to. I'll let you know when I'm done with "Inhabitants" and "Locations" so that you can look over those as well if you want. Also, if you want, you can go through and fill in all the red links which I was going to work on next. My goal is to get the article up to par as quickly as possible so basically anything you see to add to that, would be great! Coruscantfan (Talk) 22:27, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

Difference between source and appearance?

G'day. What's the difference between a source and an appearance? --Morbus Iff (talk) 15:33, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey. An appearance would be a narrative story, like Star Wars Rebels or A New Dawn. Whereas Meet the Rebels is a reference book, which makes it a source rather than an appearance/story. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:34, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

I think you know the reason why. ;) JangFett (Talk) 15:25, July 22, 2014 (UTC)

Real parameter

Hiya, Brandon! Hate to lecture someone who's so experienced, but when creating articles on real subjects, such as Star Wars: Princess Leia or the Star Wars Marvel 2015, don't forget to include "real" in the Eras template. This displays the globe banner at the top putting it in real-world articles, and also keeps the page from being put in the general "Canon articles" category, which is only for in-universe articles. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:16, July 27, 2014 (UTC)

  • Didn't even think to use that since all the other eras aren't used. Good catch. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 06:22, July 28, 2014 (UTC)

I created the page Warcarrier (a bomber from SWTOR:Starfighter) It will need i's editing but there is red text at te bottom about references, could you fix that? If you have a question about the article leave it on my talk page User:Evan Alde 21:55, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

Re: TCW coimcs templates

Both The Clone Wars comics and The Clone Wars episodes were developed long before there was any indication that OOU media would be split into canon/Legends. Personally I don't see an overbearing need to separate TCW media based on canon status within our navigation boxes, since their main purpose is just to help users get around the site, but you're welcome to do so if you feel it's necessary. Jedi Council/Canon & A New Dawn

A couple of things. First off, did we ever get an answer on whether the stuff about the Senate giving Palpatine direct control over the Jedi Council was actually in the Revenge of the Sith film? (See this discussion) The Yoda article states that as if it were so. Second, I noted that in your Depa Billaba article, you have backstory from A New Dawn, but wasn't the consensus here not to include that stuff for right now? ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:42, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

  • I don't think we ever got an answer. I know that the first Rebel Alliance deleted scene from Episode III says it, but I don't know about the rest of the movie. Secondly, the only article I planned to add full A New Dawn information from until we get closer to release is the Depa Billaba page (and even then, I'm leaving it as a stub). The first seven chapters have been released online, in which Billaba was included and in which she was shown with "Caleb Dume." That's out there and free to document. However, because adding just that information would mean her page was incomplete/potentially misrepresenting the information, I chose to add full A New Dawn info to that one page. There also wasn't much of a consensus so there's nothing concretely saying not to. I'm working on a full Kanan Jarrus page here, but won't post it until at least a week prior to the full release of the novel. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:46, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the info about Revenge of the Sith. I may have to start digging and see if I can just watch the film and find the answer. May take a while, though. As for the Depa Billaba-- ah, okay. Makes sense / good reasoning. And where can I find those seven chapters to read myself? ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:57, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
You can read it here. I recommend it. I'm a little over 2/3 of the way through the full novel, and I'm enjoying it. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:59, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm reading it now. Would have loved to have been able to get my paws on one of those Advanced Reader's Copies, but ah well. Not all that long now until the final version comes out. ProfessorTofty (talk) 22:10, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Aurebesh

  • No problem :-) I was actually unsure whether I should add them there or not; I guess I should have checked first. Should canon appearances still be added to the legends articles, or are they just for the canon sections? --Nightlily (talk) 20:27, August 25, 2014 (UTC)
    • Good to know! Thanks. --Nightlily (talk) 20:35, August 25, 2014 (UTC)

Biggs and More

I guess you're right about the copying-- with the attribution thing, it just makes more sense not to copy the content. Oh, and nice work on expanding the Biggs Darklighter. I get the feeling some of what I had posted was deleted even though it wasn't actually Legends, but it looks like you've got everything that's canon there now. Oh, and good news, I'm finally going to be able to get a hold of Revenge of the Sith, so we can put that nagging question to rest about whether or not Palpatine was given direct control of the Council. In fact, I'm checking out the entire prequel trilogy on Blu ray from a local library, so I can watch the whole thing and get what's actually canon into my head. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:35, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

  • Nice! It'll be good to have that answer. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:45, September 5, 2014 (UTC)
    • Indeed. And we now have it-- there's nothing in the final film about the Senate voting to give Palpatine direct control of the Council. So it is, to coin a phrase, just a Legend. ProfessorTofty (talk) 16:23, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I was just wondering what the difference between the "Encyclopedia" link, and the "Databank" link. They both lead to the same page? Thanks! Nivlacanator (talk) 21:42, September 14, 2014 (UTC)

  • The Encyclopedia is defunct and now redirects to the Databank. However, the former contents of the Encyclopedia are available via the Internet Wayback machine. To get to that content, you want to click the part that says "backup link." - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:44, September 15, 2014 (UTC)

Tabs not showing again

Okay, wondering if I'm doing something wrong again or if the system is just screwing up. I just created Life debt, but again, the tabs aren't showing on the Legends article, even though the Canon page was created at Life debt/Canon. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:24, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

  • Fixed. It needed a ghost edit (save with/without adding content) to update the Legends page. Cade StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 20:26, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, Brandon. I recall you mentioning a while back that you manually substitute your signature template here because the sig in your preferences is your staff sig. I just realized that the code I already use could be useful for you as well. Basically, this is what I have in my preferences:

What this does is it automatically checks for the presence of a /sig subpage on the wiki I'm signing on. If it finds one, then it uses that, otherwise it falls back to a default signature on Community Central (you can also put the raw code for the fallback here as I used to, though you'll have less room than normal). For me, this allows me to quickly sign a comment somewhere with having to create a /sig subpage first. For you, you could change this to point to your own subpages and put your staff sig in as the fallback, and then you can just sign the normal way with ~~~~ everywhere and the /sig pages will automatically get used in place of the staff sig on wikis where you have them. (Note that the use of two colons after "subst" in the fallback is necessary.) Let me know what you think or if you have any questions. :) —MJ— War Room 19:51, September 18, 2014 (UTC)

  • Here is what I have in my preferences: <font color="#1A2BBB">Brandon Rhea</font><staff /><font color="#1A2BBB">(talk)</font> How would I add what you suggested into that? I'm asking since I don't know if the staff code (to create the Wikia logo) changes anything. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:59, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
    • Shouldn't affect anything, since it behaves like ordinary wikicode. Put this in your preferences: Then just make sure that on wikis where you have a custom signature template, that it is always at User:Brandon Rhea/sig. —MJ— Jedi Council Chambers 02:31, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
      • Success. Thanks a lot, MJ! This is extremely helpful (and time-saving). Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:18, September 19, 2014 (UTC)

New eBooks

Brandon, if you have a moment, could you check out this thread here that I started regarding a number of new Star Wars eBooks which may or may not be part of the new Star Wars canon? Re: Adventures of Skywalker

Sorry, no funeral, I'm afraid. A lot of stuff is cut out, I think in large part, though not always, based on what was and wasn't depicted in artwork from McQuarrie. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:29, October 8, 2014 (UTC)

Heh, better to have less work, huh? Oh, and I guess you decided not to spring for the Limited Edition? I was sorely tempted, but I just can't afford to spring for something like that right now. I see also that they've finally announced the Lost Missions for The Clone Wars on DVD and Blu-ray, and about a week after I signed up for a free trial of Netflix to watch it. Doesn't that just take the biscuit? Ah well. I've been finding some other good stuff on Netflix anyway, so it's all good. ProfessorTofty (talk) 15:46, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
Netflix is worth the investment anyway. It'll save you money on DVDs/Blu Ray or digital download in the long run. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 16:00, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
Don't I wish, but a lot of the stuff I want to see just isn't on there, but is available as a purchase elsewhere. Bit of an odd duck that way. It's alright, though, I have found stuff on there I want to watch, just don't know yet if I'm interested enough to start paying once the month is up. ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:03, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
It probably automatically re-ups so I'd be careful of that. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:08, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
Oh yes, I'm fully aware of that and will be keeping the date in mind in case I decide not to continue. BTW, when you get The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, you might want to have a look at some of the pictures for appearances. I'm sure I missed some of the characters/species, identification of which isn't always my strong suit. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:37, October 11, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Brandon! I thought I'd call your attention to a thread I recently started regarding the future of articles based on fan-related topics here on the wiki, as you're the administrator of Fanpedia. Escape from the Spire

In your recent edit, for some reason "type=canon" was cleared from "Eras", changing the article into Legends. I'm assuming that was a mistake and I put it back, but if there's something going on I'm not aware of, please let me know. ProfessorTofty (talk) 02:48, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

  • It was unintentional. I am rewriting everything in a doc, and forgot to add type=canon back in. Thanks for spotting it. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 02:51, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

New image galleries

Hi Brandon. I read somewhere that Wikia is introducing new image galleries. Will this affect our image categories and make them better, such as this imagecat for example?--Richterbelmont10 R2 sig(come in R2!) 21:46, October 22, 2014 (UTC)

  • I don't actually know the answer to that. That'd be a a good question to ask on the announcement blog. I should note, though, that right now the new galleries are only in Wikia Labs, meaning admins choose whether to turn them on or not. So for now, unless the community here to votes to turn on the new galleries, it wouldn't actually affect Wookieepedia one way or another. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:54, October 22, 2014 (UTC)
    • Thanks, I posted a message there. I like the look of the new image galleries. The images are much larger and would be a great improvement for the image category pages, whose images are small and often difficult to make out.--Richterbelmont10 R2 sig(come in R2!) 03:56, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
      • Remember, even on a wiki where the feature isn't enabled, you can still see them if you want by adding ?gallery=new to the end of the URL for a wiki page. Anyway, I'd support adding them if such a vote were held. ProfessorTofty (talk) 05:12, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
        • Unfortunately, adding "?gallery=new" doesn't seem to work on image category pages. Is there some other way?--Richterbelmont10 R2 sig(come in R2!) 17:06, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
          • That only applies to the new image galleries. From what I've learned, the new galleries have no impact on categories, since categories and galleries are two totally separate things. That URL code that Tofty mentioned only works with galleries. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:32, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
            • Does Wookieepedia even have image galleries?--Richterbelmont10 R2 sig(come in R2!) 04:03, October 25, 2014 (UTC)
              • Generally only on out-of-universe pages, such as to display posters or cover art. You can see one here, for example, in the "Cover gallery" section. They're not allowed on in-universe pages. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:04, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Sources

Star Wars in 100 Scenes was the source for both "double-bladed lightsaber" and "saberstaff," but I suppose I should have put it after both of them. I'll be more diligent on that in the future, as well as with the infobox. ProfessorTofty (talk) 01:56, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

Canon Anakin

Hi, Brandon! I noticed your work that you were doing in your workspace on updates for the canon Anakin Skywalker page. I saw also that you had chosen an image for the infobox. Think it would be alright to start using it right away? I think it would be a great way to distinguish the article from its Legends counterpart. I'd been searching for one to fit there, but hadn't been able to decide on anything good myself yet. ProfessorTofty (talk) 11:58, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey. They both have the same infobox image, so I'm not sure what you mean. Can you clarify? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 14:27, October 28, 2014 (UTC)
    • I... don't know. I could have sworn I saw a different image, a good one too, and that I saw it somewhere on your workspace, but now I can't find it there anywhere, or anywhere else for that matter, no matter how much I search. Beginning to wonder if I've gone completely mad. I haven't entirely given up on searching for it yet, but at this point, I'm lost. I wish there was a way to intersect image categories like there is with regular categories; that might be helpful. I don't think I just dreamed it. ProfessorTofty (talk) 07:17, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
      • You're crazy. :P In all seriousness, I'd keep the image as-is unless there's a really good one. The one that's there is basically the least worst option we have (there aren't many good infobox-quality Anakin images). - Brandon Rhea(talk) 07:27, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
        • Completely agree. I just thought that the one that I saw, or perhaps simply dreamed up, was better. ProfessorTofty (talk) 08:38, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
      • "I wish there was a way to intersect image categories like there is with regular categories; that might be helpful." I just added an intersection link to the image categories as well. It wasn't impossible before (you could go to Special:CategoryIntersection and do it manually), but it's easier now. —MJ— Council Chambers 17:22, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
        • Thanks, that's good to know! I'll try that out soon. ProfessorTofty (talk) 02:10, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Kothal town

What's going on, it is not Kothar, why have you moved the page? Pedronog (talk) 20:50, October 31, 2014 (UTC)Pedronog

  • The Episode Guide and Databank both identify it as Kothar. You can see that indicated in the Sources + Notes and references sections. If this is a mistake, then please provide the source for where it says Kothal. Your page contained no sources when you created it. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:59, October 31, 2014 (UTC)
    • I've found it. My mistake. However, the incorrect spelling still exists on, and you still need to source pages when you create them. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:21, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Lothal rebels

Nice work on remodeling the Lothal rebels article. I was planning on adding a history myself, but you beat me to it. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:16, November 1, 2014 (UTC)

  • Oops. Hopefully you didn't start working on it. There was no inuse tag so I figured you were done. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:18, November 1, 2014 (UTC)
    • Oh no, it's just fine, thanks. I didn't have anything actually ready for it yet, so no harm, no foul. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:24, November 1, 2014 (UTC)

Sly Moore/Umbaran

Hi Brandon! I see that both Sly Moore and the Umbaran species are mentioned in Star Wars in 100 Scenes. Are the two ever explicitely connected in that book? Is Moore ever referred to as an Umbaran? Thanks. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 14:31, November 2, 2014 (UTC)

  • Yes, she is identified as Umbaran. It also says she is rumored to be able to influence minds. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:13, November 2, 2014 (UTC)

Mysterious image redux

I think this was the image that I had been searching for. Though why I thought I saw it on a page in your namespace, I don't know. What do you think? I still kind of like it as a possible infobox image. ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:06, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

  • I don't like it, to be honest. I mean it's a decent enough image in its own right, but as an infobox image, it's a bit weird that he's looking away from the reader. We have better promotional images, like the one currently being used, where he's looking right at the reader. Though I will say, there is a dearth of good Anakin promotional images, but that's not really because of Wookieepedia. If only they had actually filmed Hayden Christensen for Episode VI and had a promotional image with him in Jedi robes, rather than just cropping him onto Sebastian Shaw. =/ - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:33, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
    • Okay. You do make a good point that it would be better if he were looking directly. The hunt continues, then. Maybe I'll just get a copy of the film again and see if I can screencap something better. ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:43, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
      • I'd stick with the promotional images. They're better suited for infoboxes IMO. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:39, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
        • Cool. I'm going to have a run-through of all promotional images we have of Anakin using that category merge and see if anything catches my eye. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:50, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

Article Permission

Hello Brandon!

Sorry if this question seems meaningless and all, but I want to avoid being a nerfherder in the eyes of the mods, so I figured I would ask permission for writing an article in particular, because I do not know if you would find it unnecessary.

In the book Annihilation, as well as being mentioned in The Old Republic MMO, there is canonically (Legends, of course) a major city located on the surface of Ziost, capital of the system, which the Orbital Space Command and Ministry of Logistics was located. I was wondering if I could write an article about the city, because I do not want to invest my time into contributing to the wiki for an article of mine to be deleted. I also do not want to come across as vandalizing, because I do not want to make your job harder, by any means.

Also, the Ziost article has not since been updated since TOR came out, and does not mention its Imperial significance during the era of the Legends MMO.

Darth Ravigious (talk) 15:31, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for responding! Alright, I'll be sure to consult with Cade. It's just that, many years ago when I was young and foolish, I edited a Pirates of the Caribbean wiki, and they reverted almost every edit I made :P I don't want to have a reputation on this wiki. Been my favorite since I was a kid.

Darth Ravigious (talk) 16:23, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

Also, don't know if you've read the Tarkin novel yet, but when referencing his inspiration for the DS, it is mentioned that he was inspired by an "ancient deep space space station built by a civilization that preceded the Old Republic." Would you consider that a blatantly clear reference to the Star Forge, or is that not enough information. It wasn't very vague, but it was only in about three sentences.

Darth Ravigious (talk) 16:47, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

  • Since there's no Star Forge in canon, or any other known superweapons, I wouldn't consider it a reference to anything. Just an ancient battle station. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:43, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I thought that much. I just didn't know if it would be worth it to put a canon "Ancient Battle Station" next to the uncanon "Star Forge" Article. It seemed like the author's attempt to subtly bring it back into canon, but I agree with you. Not enough information present.

Darth Ravigious (talk) 17:47, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I wouldn't even create an article at all for it, to be honest. The most you could say was "An ancient battle station was the inspiration for the Death Star" and that's not really worth it. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:05, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Tarkin conjectural characters

Ah thanks for letting me know Brandon! I'll get round to creating them soon. Ayrehead02 (talk) 23:49, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I hope you don't think that I have been a nuisance around here or anything (removing some articles does not seem like a good sign :P, but I get your reasons for doing so). I've just been trying to contribute as best I can, and the last thing I want is to be seen as a vandal. I'm a pretty big SW fan and I've noticed quite a few gaps of info on the wiki in the past, and I have been trying to do my best to contribute to such in a positive manner. I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do better, because I do not want to complicate your work here (and I try hard not to annoy Cade :P haha)

Thanks for contributing here. It's an awesome wiki. - Darth Ravigious (talk) 17:33, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey. What do you mean by "removing articles?" I'm not an admin so I don't delete articles or anything. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:44, November 18, 2014 (UTC)
    • Oh, I just meant like the odd one I'd write or so. It's the admins then who would do it (I must've thought you were one, haha). I understand their reasoning though. Nah, I was just afraid that my writing of the occasional "irrelevant" article could get some of you in-charge guys mad. Do you think there is anything I can do to improve here or anything? Years ago I edited the "Pirates" wiki, and one admin hated me so much for adding behind the scenes content referring to historical information, that he still held it against me when it turned out he was an admin on a wiki I joined three years later. I just do not want to be a problem on this wiki here, which is my favourite by the way. - Darth Ravigious (talk) 17:50, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Imperial Center

Brandon, when you have a moment, could you take a look at the question I posted on Talk:Coruscant/Canon regarding the use of "Imperial Center" in The Rebellion Begins? Thanks! ProfessorTofty (talk) 15:35, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

I can't seem to post a proposal in the nominated articles for the Revan section. Darth Ravigious (talk) 17:44, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

non-canon addition to canon maul page ?

which part was a non canon addition ?

Maul also proved his skills against his monstrous brother, Savage Opress, easily subdued him in a single combat and declared himself as his master. Even against his former Master, great Sith Lord Darth Sidious, Maul managed to hold his own. Kicked him from his torso and later blade lock. Maul also proved his skills against Mace Windu, who is one of the best of the Jedi Order, Maul managed to kick Aayla Secura while fighting with Mace Windu. Another example of his lightsaber skills, Darth Maul managed to destroy three MagnaGuards almost instantly.
During the skirmish on Florrum, he pulled a several-ton Eta-class shuttle off of a hill, where it slid to a stop in front of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hondo Ohnaka's pirates. He was also proficient at using telekinesis in duels, he disarmed Obi-Wan Kenobi with a Force Push. On Florrum, he used powerful Force Blast to Obi-Wan Kenobi and collapsed the cave in the process, he used the same telekinetic attack to General Grievous as well. He was also proficient at Force Wave, he used Force Wave to a group of battle droids.

--Marco 1907 (talk) 16:09, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

  • The non-canon parts were names like Force Blast and Force Wave. The rest I found to be unnecessary details that, to be honest, weren't very well written. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 16:26, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

it was force blast and force wave, if not, then you could change it with a simple word, you didn't need to delete all of it, I am just trying to help here. --Marco 1907 (talk) 16:33, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

  • I understand that - definitely not trying to say you can't help! But on the whole it was an awkwardly worded addition that I felt added too much detail to the section. The powers and abilities section mainly just needs to give an overview of the character's powers and abilities, rather than talk about every instance in which their powers and abilities were used. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 16:38, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

very well then, I hope you will add some useful informations about Maul's power soon. Because his incompetency against Sidious isn't look nice at all there, imo, on the contrary he just fought very good against someone powerful like Sidious. --Marco 1907 (talk) 16:45, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Quote formatting

Two notes on quote formatting: First, the code to separate lines in the Quote template is "<br />"; notice the italics markup, which you were leaving out on QOTD. This is necessary to make sure that the quotation marks themselves are not italicized, as the opening and closing quote marks provided by the template are not. Second, when nominating quotes on QOTD, be aware that QOTD generally uses a different standard from articles in that Dialogue is used for all quotes with two or more speakers, even two-line quotes. Quote is generally only used on QOTD for single-speaker quotes. :) —MJ— Holocomm 07:38, November 27, 2014 (UTC)

Dun Moch.

No. I understand, I was a little confused at first how a legends technique is used in the canon but yeah. Thanks for clarifying.

Crossguard lightsaber

I'm curious, what were the specifics of that discussion that allowed the new canon crossguard lightsaber article to be created? Because it seems to be a reversal of what's been said previously. ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:17, December 3, 2014 (UTC)

  • The rule applies to names and subjects that appeared in Episodes I-VI and The Clone Wars but received names in Legends stories. It doesn't apply to brand new canonical stories, like The Force Awakens. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:21, December 3, 2014 (UTC)
    • That's a very generous reading of the rule as it's written, but not that I care. I'll take it! ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:23, December 3, 2014 (UTC)
      • It's the most sensible reading. The first line of the canon clause suggests it applies to everything—the word "new" is a bit deceptive—but then it goes on to elaborate by referring to "the majority of subjects within the six original films." The policy is intended to prevent the creation of a bunch of "Unidentified" pages, but IMO shouldn't hinder the creation of pages for the new movie. Ultimately, for those who wish to prevent any creation of conjectural canon pages about subjects that had Legends names, the policy is hampered by its own vagueness and contradictory information. And obviously, this shouldn't be exploited. A page on the lightsaber is far more important than some random nobody who may be conjectural in a new canon book but named in Legends. This should be used within reason, IMO. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:28, December 3, 2014 (UTC)

BrandonRhe why did blixus i gave you the image showing the proof that comic stuff non canon is canonical as such

This Star Wars Legends article contains information from the 2008 Slaves of the Republic comic books that was omitted from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series' 2011 adaptation of the story.

The Season Four episodes "Kidnapped," "Slaves of the Republic," and "Escape from Kadavo" have canonical precedence. Editor discretion is advised.

but you still went against the proof and you still reverted thde page back furthermore you locked it just to act petty (Granted i don't know if it was you or not but still). please unlock the blixus page so that people can see it be fixed.

  • That wasn't me. I am not an admin and therefore can't lock pages. You can see who it was in the page's history, which shows that it was Cade Calrayn. I have chosen not to be involved in this situation anymore as I find your attitude to be very poor and needlessly rude. Original Episode Guides

We have plenty of Canon articles that used the original Episode Guides as sources. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 03:27, January 6, 2015 (UTC)

  • I don't believe that they should be, per what we've established to be canon here, and it's very likely that those other pages are as a result of people copying and pasting. Even the Encyclopedia only barely makes the cut. Old versions of Episode Guides, the old Databank, etc. often pull from the Expanded Universe, because that was canon at the time. So there's no good way to sort out what should and should not be considered canon. It's easier just to not use them completely until such time as we're told they're canon. If you know of a consensus or administrative ruling that disagrees with what I'm saying here, feel free to show me. Until then, old Episode Guides shouldn't be used. The current ones should be. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:40, January 6, 2015 (UTC)

Jedi Order/Canon

Well actually it wasn't destroyed in Episode III.

I think it was recently stated in Rebels that the Jedi Order still exists but they are all undercover.

I suppose the roles are reverse with the Sith in plain sight and the Jedi hidden but still existing.

From Episode VI it is clear that Yoda has passed on his mantle of leader of the Jedi to Luke who is the last. And we know from casting for Episode VII that there are Padawans around after the Battle of Endor so the Jedi Order definitely still exists. The piece I wrote could be massively slimmed down though I agree I just got a bit carried away. Unsigned comment by CommanderConnor (talk • contribs).

  • The Jedi are still around, but the Jedi Order as an institution was destroyed in Episode III (no more organization, no more leadership, etc—just scattered people who follow the Jedi way). Hope that clears things up. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:40, January 12, 2015 (UTC)
