Farlstendoiro, welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. BoldingEdit

I'd really appreciate it if you fully bolded your subjects in your articles. Thank you. -- Riffsyphon1024 11:22, 22 Dec 2005 (UTC)

PropsEdit

Thanks for backing me up on my deletion of the Duros from the RotJ page, you seem pretty cool, see you around. White bishop 19:26, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

TenseEdit

It'd be nice if you would use past tense in your in-universe articles. Other than that, good job. --Imp 13:42, 22 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • I'd like to second this. Your language articles are all in present tense. -- Riffsyphon1024 18:00, 10 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • Okey, I'll try. I subconsciously consider that in-universe articles are present, as if we were "living there". I apologize and try not to repeat it for further references; I also thank both of you for pinpointing my mistakes so that I can have a chance to correct them. -- Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:57, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)

AwardEdit

thumb|The Pit Droid Award of Diligence For your efforts in making pages on the many languages in the Star Wars galaxy, I hereby present you with the Pit Droid Award for dilligence. Keep up the good work. -- SFH 15:05, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

  • I was actually just thinking of awarding you this. Very well deserved. --Imp 15:08, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
  • This is... This is as a great honor as it is unexpected. Now, this little droid here... This will help me to continue with my work (and I'm telling you, little droid, you're going to help me with the remaining languages). By the way, right now, while coming here to collect the price, Aayla Secura told me she admires my work. How do you think that makes me feel? ¡Manda carallo! -- Skippy Farlstendoiro 15:53, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Juvaini and RelentlessEdit

I would like your sources concerning the two Imperial ships. I am playing X-wing and we have some contradictions to what you have written. I would like to talk about thia a bit MoffRebus 21:32, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Speaking of relentless, Farl is very relentless with all the new articles being made. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 06:13, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

SourcingEdit

Don't forget to source your entries. I assume these are all from Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters. Enochf 00:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Brubb language Edit

I couldn't find the name of the language anywhere in the Brubb entry of Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races. I'm afraid I had to delete the "Brubb (language)" article: unless you have another source? Sorry, —Silly Dan (talk) 01:59, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Okey, you are right. That was my only source, which led me to assume the Brubbs had a native language. I thought that because they had an advanced culture before being discovered. It was a quite daring assumption. Assumptions are bad, assumptions are bad. - Skippy Farlstendoiro 07:40, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

More fanon?Edit

Can you please tell us where you got this information from? Thanks. --Azizlight 00:11, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Specifically, the "alcazar of Ramatesh", "Oppo Rancisis' mother", and "Oppo's (probably older) sister". Thanks. --Azizlight 00:32, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppo Rancisis, Jedi Commander: Two centuries before the Battle of Yavin, the Blood Monarch of Thisspias offered her infant son to the Jedi Temple for training. She hoped that, when his training was completed, he would return to Thisspias, claim the throne and strenghten the monarchy with the power and wisdom of the Jedi. Oppo was twenty years old when agitators stormed the Thisspias alcazar on Ramatesh and killed his sister. He had inherited the throne of Thisspias, but abdicated in favor of his Jedi training.
  • Thus: Oppo's mother was the Blood Monarch. When Oppo was 20, his sister died and then he inherited the throne. My theory: Mom was the queen, and the succession line goes from mom to sis, to Oppo, to (say) bro (Bro, younger than Oppo, was defeated in a duel, upon Ultimate Alien Anthology). Mom dies before Oppo is 20; sis is is the new queen. Sis dies when Oppo is 20, Oppo becomes king, and then Oppo abdicates in favor of bro. To make things easier: Sis is older, and this is why she inherited the throne before Oppo. Bro is younger.
  • Alcázar is a Spanish word meaning a royal home, or a prince's room; it is usually a fortified building, like a castle. There is usually a maximum of one for city; thus, they are identified by the name of the city (Alcázar of Segovia, on the city of Segovia). Apparently there was an alcázar on Thisspias.
    • Thanks Skippy, sorry that I assumed it was fanon. In future, please source everything that you add. Thanks! --Azizlight 07:21, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Cracken Edit

First of all, the Star Wars Figures have been made by hasbro for the last eight or nine years now. Second, It has been comfirmed on star wars.com and on rebelscum.com that the figure is in fact Cracken. Anzati02 18:47, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, I agree with you. I was in fact suggesting to keep the information on Cracken's article. If you revise Cracken's history {http://starwars.wikia.com/index.php?title=Airen_Cracken&diff=prev&oldid=1317088} you will see that Xwing328 removed the speculative info and I suggested {http://starwars.wikia.com/index.php?title=Talk:Airen_Cracken&diff=1317570&oldid=893786} to keep the information by proving it was not speculation. "I suggest a rewording specifying that it is not speculation" - I did not want an "edit war" on Cracken's article page, only a debate on Cracken's talk page. I did re-wrote your paragraph on the article, correcting a typo ("comfirmed" -> "confirmed") and adding information (There are two "Endor Rebel soldier" toys, a black person and Cracken, plus it is a 2006). Nevertheless, the paragraph was removed by Redemption, basing on the fact that it was more something for the Star Wars Merchandise Wiki. All of this is available on Cracken's history page.

Let's see now your paragraph as I left it after my modifications:

  • It is confirmed that Cracken is one of the Endor Rebel Soldier variations in the 2006 Hasbro SAGA Collection action figure line. (15:18, 3 May)
  • Both the official Star Wars webpage and specialized fansite Rebelscum dot Com confirm that Cracken is one of the Endor Rebel Soldier variations in the 2006 Hasbro SAGA Collection action figure line.

Those paragraphs support the "second" fact you've just said. You and I share the same opinion: The Rebel Endor soldier is Cracken. Official sources have confirmed it. Nevertheless, other wookieepedians seem to believe that this datum is not important enough to be menctioned here. I digress; I consider any merchandise on Expanded Universe important characters should be mentioned.

I am only guilty of a typo in the talk page when I wrote a title saying "Kenner toy" instead of "Hasbro toy". However, I do not consider it a great mistake because it is only an epigraph on the talk page, not "real" information on the article. Talk pages, nevertheless, should not be edited.

I have copied this information both in my user talk page, as an answer to yours, and in your page, so you cannot miss it easily. I hope we can continue this discussion, just to make you see we do not have confronted oppinions.

Greetings,

Skippy Farlstendoiro 06:24, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

    • Sorry bout that. I'm still getting the hang of the site and how it ticks. I will pay more attention next time.

good day, Anzati02 20:11, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Sullustan Resistance movementEdit

Over two years ago, you created the article Sullustan resistance movement without listing any sources. Since then, people have listed several, but some of the info you added is not included in those sources. Anyway, I was wondering if you could remember if there were any sources for it other than those listed. I know it was a long time ago, so no worries if you can't remember. Cheers, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 20:35, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry, I cannot remember right now the sources I used back then. The style reminded me of what I use to write when researching RPG books and I thought The Movie Trilogy Sourcebook, but I double-checked it and confirmed that it was not the source I used. I will try to find time and research some other books I've had since at least January 2006, but now I'm quite more busy than I was then; maybe it could take some time. Thank you, Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:00, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
    • Could it be the Star Wars Sourcebook? Sin Suub's article has much of the same info as the Resistance movement page, and its listed as one of his sources. Thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 09:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
      • That is one of the books I've had for a long time. It might be one of the sources - probably not the only one I've used for the SRM. Unfortunately, I still cannot confirm it.---Skippy Farlstendoiro 09:41, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
        • That's fine. If you ever do find out, please let me know. Thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 09:46, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
          • It looks more like Alliance Intelligence Reports. I second-hand bought that book a couple of years ago and enjoyed Wookieepedying the info on it. Give me some time and I'll try to confirm it. -- Skippy Farlstendoiro 10:09, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Hey Farlstendoiro, I checked out Alliance Intelligence Reports, and there's nothing on the Sullustans in it, just a brief mention of Sin Suub in Vacander's entry. I'm trying to find someone with the Star Wars Sourcebook on IRC so I can check that out. Thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 17:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

The Tallon thingEdit

The reason being that it's a detail peripheral to Tallon's life, which is the prime and sole concern of the Tallon biography. It's an interesting tidbit for, maybe, and article on the hunt itself, but that's not what Adar Tallon is for. Besides, the flow of the article is a little bit off kilter if we have him being rescued by Rebels and then...the Rebels notice that there was a hunt for him. ;) Rest assured, I'm trying to take the article to FA, so it's not going to stay in that unsourced incarnation, but I doubt the AIR detail will find its way back in. Thefourdotelipsis 22:27, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Khil Edit

Best I can remember is there was a Khil walking on the street near the beginning of The Apprentice, and a Khil in a military uniform was in one of the lavish balls that Mara was in undercover in one of the early parts of that comic. Kuralyov 23:54, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

  • I think those were them, yes. Kuralyov 03:04, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Hmm. Sorry to jump into this conversation, but I would not count any of those guys as Khil. The one in The Apprentice is walking away from us, so the frills are on the back of his head. That would make it more likely a Twi'lek if anything. Likewise with the Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand, none of the aliens are close enough to be classed as a Khil in my opinion. I'd remove from appearances from the Khil page. Now, back to the reason I came here in the first place: Farlstendoiro, would you like a copy of A Mon Alone? I don't anticipate updating those species pages with the relevant info any time soon. --Eyrezer 06:54, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
      • Perhaps you could email me? If you go to my user page, there should be a link on the left "Email this user". --Eyrezer 00:46, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Wow! These are fantastic additions you are making to the Wookieepedia! Awesome stuff. --Eyrezer 10:55, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Oakie DokesEdit

Thanks for writing, Farlstendoiro. I actually entered the Oakie Dokes contest because I had just finished reading the Makem Te entry in Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds.

I apologize for the poor quality of writing in the Oakie Dokes Databank entry; given the opportunity, I would rewrite it entirely. (I notice that the webmasters cut some of my more...graphic...jokes.) My intent was to imply that Swokes Swokes only perform their funerary rites upon the honorable dead. Cannibalism is a form of execution reserved for prodigal children. If you waste your parents' resources, your parents will reclaim the most basic resource they gave you: your flesh. Swokes Swokes inter only the indigestible remains of children executed in this fashion, and their stellae in the Tract are notably smaller than the standard markers.

And no, none of this information is derived from any canonical source. It's my personal interpolation from material in the Outer Rim Worlds guidebook.

You mention another apparent contradiction: the Tract supposedly contains the bodies of every Swokes Swokes who has ever died in the history of Makem Te. How, then, are their bodies "incinerated or chopped up"? Perhaps Swokes Swokes bury their dead only after removing certain sacred organs. The Egyptians, after all, extracted the hearts and livers of dead pharaohs during the embalming process.

Of course, because the article is now the property of LucasFilm, all of my original intentions about its content are non-canonical. However, I believe it's permissible to add such background information under the Behind the Scenes tab. I'll investigate the official policy. If you believe that an overview of Swokes Swokes religion is necessary to the clarity of the Wookieepedia entry, I could certainly insert it as "dubiously canonical".

I'm kicking myself for not being more specific in the article itself, but the word limit prevented me from delving into Swokes Swokes esotericism. Maybe I ought to submit a piece to the Star Wars Outsider....

Again, thanks for contacting me. Force be!

hey, how did you get images from the kresch? When I try using print screen, it messes up the image really bad. Could you get the kresch image for the bowlump? --unsigned message by JustinGann as of 17:09, 8 July 2008

Yep, finally scanned it. Removal of userboxesEdit

Hey, I'm sorry to do this to you, but it appears you did not help promote any of those articles to GA/FA it says on your userpage. Please remove them or provide evidence that you made significant edits to them. Chack Jadson (Talk) 01:53, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

  • I'll point out that the boxes are only for significant work (at least five paragraphs, probably) done on the version that becomes FA. The point of the userbox is diluted somewhat if they're used for small contributions. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 10:55, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
    • I'm sorry, but like Acky said, it has to be significant, not providing quotes or something. I ask: do the users who promoted these articles know you've put these userboxes on your page? I promoted H'nemthe to GA, and I don't think "adding" some quotes is a big deal. I simply forgot to add them, and have access to the sources you took them from. I'm sorry to do this to you, but I'm not sure your edits to those articles are significant enough to warrant you adding userboxes saying you helped. Those are reserved for major edits. I'm going to talk to some other users and get their take. Thanks for your civility in this. Chack Jadson (Talk) 18:41, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
      • Thanks for the reply. I udnerstand if you're busy. Thanks also for keeping your cool, and not getting mad. At this point, I'm going to leave it up to you. Pretty much everything that needs to be said has been said by Acky and I. Ultimately, it's your decision. Chack Jadson (Talk) 20:04, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

QuestionEdit

Forum:SH:Living Force cover identities... --Eyrezer 21:07, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Yeah! Devan is who I was thinking too. All we need is a hair colour. Also, if there is any prominent Rodian, we could pin it on them - well not canonically, but it would be likely. --Eyrezer 16:06, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
    • The funny thing is that there are actually quite a number of Rodian Jedi and Rodian dark siders. I wrote a paragraph on them in the Rodian article itself. Maybe in my mind, I'll make that guy the unidentified Rodian weapons master. Wait a minute, I just remembered I also wrote this article: Rodian Jedi. :P --Eyrezer 18:09, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Terrinald ScreedEdit

Hey. Thanks for adding the voice actor to Terrinald Screed, but could you add a <ref> for the source please. His name's on the credits, but it doesn't say who played who. Thanks. Green Tentacle (Talk) 21:33, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

  • That's fine. I'll just ref it to IMDB and that should be good enough. Thanks for your help. Green Tentacle (Talk) 19:16, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

TobaccoEdit

Hey Skippy, would you mind telling me where tobacco appears in Star Wars 107: All Together Now? I scoured the comic, but I couldn't see any mention of it. Also, there didn't seem to be anyone smoking either. Cull Tremayne 07:28, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

  • So you're just assuming that he's smoking tobacco? Couldn't it just as well be T'bac, carababba tabac, rashallo leaves, or any other smoke-able product? We don't list every place that cigarras appear on that page after all. Cull Tremayne 08:08, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Sneevel Sourcing Edit

Your questions are certainly welcome, and I am glad to help, so no worries. There are really no hard and fast rules, which is why you don't see a policy on this stuff anywhere, and it some cases it's really left up to someone to decide whether something is an Appearance, a Mention, or an Indirect mention only. From what you have told me, you seem to have it down pretty good. There isn't any policy on whether we are to include the species as a mention in the instances an individual of that species is mentioned, but that seems to be logical extrapolation and I agree that it should be done, as you have. In the case of a mention of the planet, as you have given an example, I would agree that the species should be mentioned as an Indirect mention only. To directly answer your two questions:

  • If there's a mention to the planet "doing anything" (meaning that the natives were doing it) without specifically mention the species, would it be an indirect mention? ("Cerea, for instance, will not allow the import of heavy machinery or vehicles" - meaning "the Cereans will not allow the import to their planet").
    • Again, open for interpretation, but I would say yes, Imo.
  • A source will never feature Roor, because sources do not feature anything. However, if a role-playing guide or other source mentions only Roor without naming his species (example: Ben Quadinaros in the Databank), is it an indirect mention?
    • Open for interpretation, but I would say yes, again - Imo.

Also, some minor nuances. Databank entries should be included at the bottom of the Source list since they are hypothetically updated. Also, since Sources will always be "mentions only," the Mo tag should never be included, though the Imo tag is still acceptable. Finally, I noticed you made a comment on one of Eyrezer's nominations about your distaste for some of those redlinks. Given your interest in the GAN page, I would direct you to this CT proposal to limit GAN redlinks: Forum:CT:GAN rule amendments. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:24, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Gal O'’WeiEdit

Hey. What's the funny symbol in Gal O'’Wei supposed to be? I get a  (A with an accent over it) if I set the Firefox's encoding to Western (ISO-8859-1), but on Unicode it comes out as 00 over 92 in a little box. Green Tentacle (Talk) 23:59, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Never mind. Jaymach said it's just Gal O'Wei, so I've moved the page. Thanks anyway. Green Tentacle (Talk) 00:12, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Sneevel Edit

Great work on the Sneevel article! I did a word count, and it's currently at 1,145 words, which means the article meets the length requirement for Featured articles. I encourage you to try your hand at the FAN page. :) Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:33, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Re:Double-linkingEdit

  • Ah, sorry for the confusion. Double-linking refers to making multiple links to the same topic, and has nothing to do with footnotes (which should always be linked). You had numerous repeated links in your article—I tried to list Wookieepedia convention on the FAN page, but basically, we don't link to a topic on its first mention in each section. We link to it once in the intro, once in the main body, once in the references, and then possibly in the infobox and/or photo captions as applicable. MorseerianEdit

Just wanted to say you're right on the fact that SW does have some words that are used differently in the Universe, And I also looked back on my words and the words bone structure don't mean literal. Bone structure has in shape. If someone or something is shaped as a human, its considered humanoid. I probably could've used better words there. Good talking with ya about it. La PodracingEdit

Hey, Skippy! I hope I didn't come off as too hard on the FAN page. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out on getting Sneevel up to snuff. I think it'll probably pass with a bit more work. :)

I noticed that you included a quote from Boles Roor in Podracing Tales in the article. I have a copy of PT, but it's in Spanish. Do you happen to have access to the English version? I'd love to see it if you do! Thanks for any help, ~ SavageBob 00:28, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't have access to the book, I only added the source to the Sneevel page as it was on the Rebel Force Target page. Unsigned comment by Rexas (talk • contribs).

Sneevel concept sketch: found! Edit

It does indeed seem that the Sneevel concept sketch is from an old version of the Databank. Here is the archived version from the Wayback Machine. The archived Databank also says that Terryl Whitlatch did this sketch as well as the color one from Hyperspace. It also looks like the .nl Wiki cuts part of the image off (the lines near the edges). Give me a day or two and I'll see if I can't clean up the image without having to cut those bits off! ~ SavageBob 12:33, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

OK, here it is! Please use it if you'd like. Otherwise, perhaps it should be placed on the Boles Roor page. ~ SavageBob 00:35, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Rebel Force: Sneevel Edit

  • In Rebel Force: Target it doesn't give you much of a description of them. What the line says is "...ducking just in time for two charging Sneevels to miss him and crash into each other." Its in chapter nineteen, top of page 157.--Darth Revanon 19:40, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Essential Atlas Edit

By the way, I don't know if you've mentioned this page yet: Forum:Aliens in The Essential Atlas. I've been trying to collect new information about our WookieeProject's various aliens in one place so we can make sure their articles are completely updated. Several of your alien articles can be expanded on a bit with Atlas information, so take a look if you haven't already. ~ SavageBob 15:01, September 9, 2009 (UTC)

The Essential Atlas is by far the most beautiful, most information-dense, and most useful of the Essential Guide series every produced. I definitely recommend it! It's really fun to read and has tons of information both about the films themselves and the EU. You should consider getting it if it's available. ~ SavageBob 15:57, September 9, 2009 (UTC)

New Republic Provisional Council Edit

Thank you for sourcing unnamed members of Ithorian and Sedrian species. Unfortunately I don't have The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook, so I wasn't able to find that info.--Jedi Marty 15:38, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

Databank updates Edit

I think you went a little too far in your Databank campaign. When an entry mentions a member of the species, it hardly makes an indirect mention of the species itself, we never count that for other source or appearances. I'm going through the species articles and removing the 'indirect mention'. MauserComlink 18:02, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

  • Well, from what I see an appearance of Oola is always an appearance of a Twi'lek, but a mention of Oola isn't, unless it says "Oola, the Twi'lek dancer". See Kowakian_monkey-lizard#Sources and Picaroon_C._Boodle#Sources for example. Be sure, I appreciate your work and I'm not going to undo all of it - just that "Imo" part that doesn't really fit in. See, the point for me was when I edited Clawdite and noticed that most of those Databank entries do not mention Clawdites in the slightest. MauserComlink 18:30, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Hopeful trash collectorEdit

Hey, Skippy. I updated the Ugor article with the information you sent me. Thanks for the assist! ~ SavageBob 06:35, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

Phone home Edit

Hey, Skippy, why isn't /th/ a phoneme? My understanding is that a phoneme is the minimally sized phonetic unit needed to separate one word from another. So, if you use /t/ you get tin but with /th/ you get thin, two words that are different in pronunciation and meaning. But I'm not a linguist; do I have this wrong? ~ SavageBob 14:30, October 23, 2009 (UTC)

OK, then we are speaking the same language (pun intended). I checked varying phonetic alphabets, and I found that a few do use /th/ to represent /θ/, but your expertise outweighs my cursory internet search, so I defer! :þ ~ SavageBob 22:42, October 23, 2009 (UTC)

RE: "watch your linking" Edit

That one was not an objection; rather, a bit of advice. If you look at my copyedit, you will find that I added a lot of links. So what I am asking is that you are more careful with your linking in the future—make sure that you have linked everything in the article should be linked. Jonjedigrandmaster (Jedi Beacon) 11:23, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

  • My objection shouldn't be "open to interpretation"; the intro needs to be organized properly—meaning chronologically and with an appropriate layout. It needs to present the information in an order that makes sense, and an article that is so short does not need to have four paragraphs for its intro, especially when the bio itself only has four paragraphs. These shouldn't be dependant on individual interpretation. But anyway, you've solved the problem. Nice work :) Jonjedigrandmaster (Jedi Beacon) 16:37, October 28, 2009 (UTC)

Re: GAN objections Edit

Hey Skippy, I hesitate to point out grammar issues, because as it has been stated time and time again on the GAN page, it is not the job of the AC to give everyone English lessons. Per GAN Rule #1, the nominator is expected to be able to write competently him/herself. However, for Nashiak, I'll go ahead and point out one glaring error in the intro: "In his first days, he developed the coveted Sunder 9 power armor for his own venture business, Llalik Designs, but the new laws of the Empire forbid him to continue that line of work." ("Forbid" is incorrect). As for info in the bio that can be mentioned in the intro: there are tons of important things which he did during his life that should be covered and that currently aren't. One particularly glaring example would be his work on the Zero-G assault armor.

As for Sapphire, I echo the sentiment on grammar stated above. One glaring issue in the bio would be: "When Sapphire was a teenager, she wanted to join the Imperial Academy. At that point, their parents were killed" (the problem being "their"). And again, the same thing for the intro; although I think the main problem in this case is the presentation of the info you currently have there. One particularly glaring example would be: "She wanted to get revenge on the Imperial officer Dane Tizzin, whom she blamed on the death of her parents." You mention this at the very end, when in fact it happened right at the beginning of her life. This deserves more context—the reader might be thinking, "wait, did Tizzin actually kill them? Or was he really innocent, and Sapphire just thought he did?"—and a better placement. I would suggest going over the info that you present in the body of the article and re-shuffling the intro with the info that is most relevant to Sapphire's life. Re: BBY-ABY AlgebraEdit

I think the answer here is simple. The way I've always seen it is that 0 ABY and 0 BBY are, in fact, the same year, the only difference being that BBY refers to events in that year that occurred before the battle, and ABY those that occurred after. This is supported by the Wook pages for 0 BBY and 0 ABY, which both claim they are 1,000 years after the Ruusan Reformation, as well as 35 years and 3 months after the ReSyncronization. Got no source to verify for you though. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 09:27, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Lens Reekene Edit

Firstly, I noticed you've made several edits to the article since my last objections, but you never posted anything on the GAN page; it seems you've fixed the two grammar spots I pointed out before. Only a few minor grammatical issues and otherwise awkward phrasing remain; one example: "Reekeene was a mercenary commander working for corporate interests and, later, a prisoner of the Galactic Empire from 14 BBY." "From 14 BBY" is incorrect, because it doesn't complete the full phrase; i.e. "from 14 BBY to when?" This also gives no reason for her imprisonment, leaving the reader to wonder why she became a prisoner; it almost sounds as if it was a life accomplishment of hers. A couple examples of missing links include squad and starfighter. Jonjedigrandmaster 20px (We seed the stars) 17:46, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks... ~ SavageBob 15:14, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Increasing source lists Edit

Hey, sorry about not being clear on some of those sources. Here's the Taurill entry from page 298 of the SWE: "Industrious, semiintelligent creatures, they form a hive mind: a single organism with thousands of bodies sharing one collective consciousness. In that state, each individual creature is just a set of eyes, ears, and hands to do the bidding of the Overmind. While that can result in intense focus, it can also lead to situations that grow quickly out of control if a few sets of eyes see something disturbing. Taurill, which make good pets, have grayish brown fur, large curious eyes, and four supple arms that end in dexterous fingers. They blink their eyes a lot and constantly shift position."

As for GG11, I found a mention of the Mantis Syndicate at the bottom of page 72, in the section on Andasala: "Lorn next declared Andasala an 'open planet,' where all could come and go as they pleased—provided they left their political squabblings at home. To reinforce his claims, he contracted with the Mantis Syndicate for a company of mercenaries as his new 'peacekeepers.'" Again, apologies for being vague. I'll try to list page numbers the next time I update any sources lists. Xicer920px(Combadge) 15:32, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm actually not very familiar with the Syndicate, which is sort of why I was drawn to it. I love looking over WEG articles, particularly those people have recently worked on, to learn more about little-known aspects of the galaxy. And it's also just a bit of a hobby of mine to fill gaps in sources lists of FANs or potential FANs. =P Xicer920px(Combadge) 14:54, May 19, 2010 (UTC)
    • Sure, I'll take a look at it. Just let me know whenever you think the article is done, and I'll give a review. Xicer920px(Combadge) 16:06, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Maw the Boltrunian Edit

Hey. Yes, you made yourself perfectly clear on the FAN page, I've just been somewhat busy lately to reply to your objection. As to the matter at hand…no, I don't think this nickname is very important, compared to, say, "the Half-Man," to be added in the intro. IMO, it just states the obvious, that he was, well, a Boltrunian. Besides, since it is frowned upon to have links in bold and I still have to link to Boltrunian somewhere in the intro, adding the nickname in the first sentence will look something like: "Maw, also known as Maw the Boltrunian, was a Boltrunian etc", which is quite redundant. And I don't want to add another sentence or so of unnecessary fluff in the intro just to include the nickname. I hope you see my point. By the way, congrats on your new POWAH! ) QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 09:51, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Sin "Siin" Suub - 4 years later Edit

Huh. Must have been a change between editions of the Star Wars Sourcebook, because the second edition spells his name with only one "i" (on pg. 82). That's why I moved it; having checked the same source you cited (this was before we started differentiating between editions of most RPG guides, I think) and noted a different spelling, I just went ahead and corrected it. If I were doing the article, I would keep it at "Sin," since the second edition of the sourcebook and AIR taken together are both the most common and the most recent uses, but if you've got a good reason to move it back, just note it well in the Bts. jSarek 07:34, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Gode Takrab FF Edit

Ah, what the heck. [1][2] The FF says the team that apprehended Gode was Arani Korden, Galak, Rorworr (Naboo), Deel Surool, and Dane. In regards to Dane, I think the author confused Sia-Lan Wezz and Dané. I'm not real sure how to handle that, except maybe a Bts mention. As far as the result, it confirms that they find the holovid. The article doesn't mention the Gode's droid. The second caption says the team found proof of Rune Haako's involvement in the holovid, which I can only assume the means the found the data on shuttle/droid. The team was apparently in dire straights holding the shuttle until the Droid Control Ship was destroyed. If you're curious, the image on the first page is from the cover of the Character Record Sheets, while the second one is the cover of Star Wars: Invasion of Theed Adventure Game. Do you know if this is the only mention he gets, or if he appears elsewhere in the book? Cheers, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 22:03, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thanks, Farl. Good spot noticing him in the first place. It's a pity there's no more new info, but at least Eyes wasn't totally forgotten. Cheers, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 10:45, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

Reviews Edit

Hey Farl, thanks for your reviews of Malak and Karath. I'd also appreciate it if you could review Ferroh and Uln, as well.--Jedi Kasra (comlink) 19:07, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

ShimrraEdit

Hey, sorry this is late; I wanted Shimrra to be passing or close to passing when I finally got back to you. Anyway, I'd kinda prefer you didn't just copy and translate it. Sorry. I do want to thank you though; you inspired me to FA the Yuuzhan Vong. That project is going pretty well. Hope you haven't been waiting for this reply for a while. RPG Edit

Hey Skippy. I tried inquiring about Chee's comments regarding the RPG stats for characters here. Can you elaborate on that any? Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:44, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes, please. This may be relevant to a current project of mine. SinisterSamurai 18:49, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
    • Thank you for posting that link for me. However, I must say after reading his post myself, I don't believe he's trying to say that RPG stats should be treated strictly as non-canon. He says himself he uses them as a reference, and that they should only be disregarded in the instances they are contradictory to another source. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:22, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

Star Wars Screen EntertainmentEdit

Since you're the only person I can find who seems to have Star Wars Screen Entertainment, I was wondering, if you still have it and can get it to work, if you could provide me with what it has on Tarkin, specifically the establishment of his first name as Wilhuff. Thanks a lot, Farl. Havac 06:22, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Edit summary Edit

Hey Farl,
when nominating an article for something, please remember to insert CA/GA/FAnom in the edit summary. This helps the user archiving the nomination, as he/she needs to find the nomination revision. Cheers. 1358 (Talk) 18:24, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Sourcebook (sourcebook) Edit

I'm sorry if that objection was unclear. :)

I'm not trying to get you to move pages, just to format your references and sources / appearances a bit different.

For example, I'll give you Star Wars: The Clone Wars (novel). When it is in a reference, it is formatted like [[Star Wars: The Clone Wars (novel)|''Star Wars: The Clone Wars'' novelization]]. What I am asking you to is that you format your references and sources like that. [[Sourcebook (sourcebook)|''Sourcebook'' sourcebook]]. Do you understand what I'm trying to say? :) 1358 (Talk) 18:44, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Vodran Edit

Added the NEGAS, SWE, Alien Encounters, Secrets of the Sisar Run, the SotE Sourcebook, and Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds. I also organized the list for you. By the way, I removed The Movie Trilogy Sourcebook from the list since it only mentions the planet, not the species, and Wanted by Cracken, since only the individual is mentioned, not the species. Also, your Bts says The Movie Trilogy Sourcebook was the first source to mention the planet, which isn't true. The first edition of GG1 actually mentioned it first. May you help me manage my fanonfall wiki in the star wars section?

Oswaft Edit

When I was writing the Oswaft article, I don't recall using Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds. I have never read that book myself. If it isn't there, than it isn't there. Andykatib 06:30, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

  • No worries, looking forward to the new Star Wars: Rebels TV series and Episode VII. Hope they will live up to everyone's expectations.22:30, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
