X-wing Alliance articlesEdit

  • I haven't made any articles based on the missions in X-Wing Alliance, only many of the characters and items from the game. I've added an article based on the original X-Wing game (Rescue at Mon Calamari). I'm not sure if I'll do more, but I did add some characters and ships.       • At the moment, the Marvel one seems to have two links to the same article. As there isn't multiple OOU articles or stories in each issue, I'm not sure that a template is necessary. If it had a logo, that could be cool but otherwise, might be superfluous. --Eyrezer 07:48, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
        • Hm. You may have me there. I wasn't really thinking the point of the Template being used for a book with multiple stories in it.             • Lol. I've also been working in the last few days to standardize the Marvel citations.Unfortunately I started from 107 and worked my way backwards, otherwise we would have seen we were working in different directions earlier (I've done from 107 through to 75). I've been changing all the links to point straight to the comics pages rather than through redirects. Currently the comic issues are at Star Wars 106: My Hiromi, Star Wars 107: All Together Now, etc. I definitely prefer this over the "Marvel Star Wars 107: All Together Now". My explanation may seem odd, but it seems more self-confident, like the Marvel comics don't need to be self-conscious about being from Marvel (They are no longer marginalized! Wahoo!)
            • As to comparing your format to the one I've been changing them to, I think they are a lot closer. I probably still prefer the number first, but that is only personal I guess. --Eyrezer 00:26, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
              • I liked that change. After all, the comics' actual title is "Star Wars". I've also added redirects from "Star Wars 97", instead of the previous "Marvel Star Wars 97". I even added redirects for the story titles, too. I figure someone may want to look up "The Third Law", etc. And no, there's no reason the Marvels should be looked down upon. Especially now, after what we've seen Lumiya get involved with and be responsible for in the Legacy novels. --JMM 01:55, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Ace's portrait Edit

  • Actually, I only added one of those pictures. The one of Ace in his Rebel gear wasn't me. There are points in the game when you're sitting in the hangar bay before taking off for a mission. When you're there, you move the "camera" around and get different angles and views. One view let's you zoom in pretty close, and when you do that, you can see Ace sitting there. That's where I got the screen grab from. You may be able to do this during missions, too. The only problem is those pictures are kind of weird and creepy looking. :) Maybe some day we'll get a proper portrait of him. --JMM 12:34, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars FinestEdit

Hey, I was looking at Pellaeon, and you uploaded an image called Pellaeon_Finest but didn't give a source. Another image of Jaina you uploaded called Jaina_Finest you sourced as from "Star Wars Finest" but Wookieepedia doesn't have an article on that. Weird requestEdit

Hey JMM, this might sound like an odd question, but do you wouldn't happen to have any of the old issues of that SWFA "magazine" would you? I was searching through the old versions of the SWFA site on sw-rpg.net, and saw that around 4 issues were made. Was there an earlier incarnation of the site on a different server? I know that some of the fiction and articles are on the current site, but is there some sort of text version of the early issues? I thought the TC discussion on Thrawn's rank, and the Rogues list were fairly intriguing, and I thought it might be interesting to see the earliest incarnation of it.   • Pretty much everything from the original versions of the site are on the new one. There may have been a few revisions here and there, but most things are intact. There are a handful of things that members had taken off the site, and usually had some good reasons to do so. But really, most everything is there now. --JMM 22:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

NaQoit, not NaQuoit Edit

Hello there, JJM! I would like to ask where is "NaQoit" spelled "NaQuoit". Is it in the Dark Empire Sourcebook? I just checked Rebel Dawn and Dark Empire endnotes and both state "NaQoit".   • For most images, I've chosen the licensing info from the drop down box below. Is that not the way to do it? --JMM 18:31, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
    • Yeah, that is kinda confusing. No, the best way is to just not touch the drop down menu. And put the licensing tag (ie {{Fairuse}}, {{Magazinecover}}, {{Comiccover}}, {{Promotional}}, etc)) directly into the template with the rest of the information. Or, if you prefer, you can use the drop down menu, but once the image is uploaded, then move the licensing template up into the image information template and delete the ==Licensing== heading. SWFA's official friendship with Wookieepedia Edit

Hey, JMM. I'm told that the Star Wars Fanboy Association is part of your webspace. Currently, the SWFA is listed and linked to under Wookieepedia's official friends box on the main page, but the SWFA does not link back to Wookieepedia in return. As a result, some users have discussed removing SWFA from Wook's official friends here. Personally I think the friendship would be good to maintain. Would it be possible for you to add Wookieepedia to the SWFA's "Friends & Affiliates" section, or to raise the issue with other members of the site? Yoda Stories Edit

According to this article, scenarios in Yoda Stories are generated randomly. The articles Cebann Veekan and Myhr Rho support this and indicate that the charatcers from the game are the characters from Holiday Special, not their lookalikes. Please update and redirect the articles you create accordingly. MauserComlink 17:18, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

  • Some characters in the game do appear randomly, but others appear multiple times on certain planets. I was thinking that at least some of these characters can be created, then marked as ambiguous -- though I admit I forgot to add those tags. But that's a separate issue... in any case, though the two Wookieepedia articles may suggest those are the same characters, there's no official source saying that they are. And considering the many identical alien characters out there (how many guys in the same Greedo outfit do we have out there?), I wouldn't think we should consider these the same characters simply based on common appearance. --JMM 17:55, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

      • I guess the randomly generated characters should maybe be skipped. But I'd suggest that any characters who are in the same place at the same time in the game, always, could deserve their own entry. Merchandise Wiki Edit

Please pay a little mind to creating articles that belong on the Star Wars Merchandise Wiki rather than Wookieepedia. Star Wars Mpire, for example, has been deleted by the community because the subject is purely "merchandise" in nature and has no inherent canonical value.   • I should point out that all of these were just existing listings on the Hasbro page here, with the page tagged as needing to be separated. I would suggest that the existing action figure collection pages should stay, but maybe a few of the "Other toy lines" listed on the Hasbro page could be removed and their links replaced with links to the merchandise Wiki. --JMM 19:12, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
    • Just because something exists on this wiki doesn't mean it's necessarily worth anything. Toy line articles, specifically, go widely overlooked, so it figures that there is a bunch of crap. Some toy line articles do deserve a place on this wiki, ones that have actual canonical information and value, as I have stated.       • I see. I would say the regular action figure lines do have some place here, since they are occasionally the source where canon info is revealed.         • Yes, I fully agree. Articles like Star Wars: The 30th Anniversary Collection or one of our FAs, The Epic Continues, are nice examples of mainline toy lines with canon info. Bubo by Hasbro Edit

Hey, JMM, good work on the Hasbro pages! I'm trying to figure out which toy line this action figure pack belongs to so I can add it to the frog-dog page (it's significant as one of the few sources that provides a 360-degree view of the species). Rebelscum.com has it listed as part of the "Ultra Figures," but I don't see that listed on the Hasbro page. Is this part of some other line, then? Thanks, ~ SavageBob 17:19, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

  • From Rebelscum's photos, the packaging of the set is the same as the other "Saga" figures. It looks like the Ultra Figures are just like a subset of figures packaged with some other accessories. But it is strange that term isn't written on the package anywhere. Maybe that's just what Hasbro called it for the sake of retailers, etc. --JMM 17:38, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Forgotten War Edit

Hi. I hope this message finds you well.

I finally got to read your post on the talk page for Alliance of Free Planets. Thank you for responding. Alas, my subscription to Hyperspace lapsed quite a while ago and I do not have access to go read your article, which I missed. Therefore, I don't know how you explained the idea of Marvel issue #s 81 - 106 all occurring within a single month, along with the events of Truce at Bakura. What an incredibly busy month. I would be very interested in finding out.

Anyway, I have done my own timeline work and found it very challenging to do, even adopting the 7-week-long month model that was established as a standard. I still ended up intermixing Marvel with Rogue Squadron Comics for the better part of the year. My admittedly fanon explanation was that the Alliance of Free Planets was more akin to the interim governing body of the fledgling New Republic and therefore, more like the parent of the New Republic Senate. So about a week after Endor, the Alliance of Free Planets is formed more as a counsel from which to forge the New Republic, itself formally declared a month later. But the AoFP would act as a Legislative body in the New Republic until about a year later when the New Republic Senate is solidified. So references to both the AoFP and NR could overlap without being a contradiction. Again, it's all fanon, but since you've worked on the subject as well, it occurred to me that you might find it interesting.

  • Looking around at Youtube clips from both versions, I can't really find the image either. But I definitely remember it from back in the day. Redirects Edit

Hey, JMM, just to let you know, please be sure to properly link different Squadron links. For example: linking just Gold Squadron or Red Squadron will link to the disambig pages. What you could do is specify which squadron you're talking about by doing [[Gold Squadron (Rebel Alliance)|Gold Squadron]]. All the government-affiliated squadrons for Red, Gold, ect, are listed in the disambig pages themselves. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, and just wanted to let you know. :) JangFett (Talk) 16:04, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes, I did notice the difference. For the recent page I edited, Blue Seven, I added this text that shows up in most of these call sign articles: "There were a number of starfighter squadrons with this name, and several beings went by the name Blue Seven." Since it's talking about the multiple Blue Squadrons, and not a specific one, a link to the disambig page made more sense in that case. --JMM 13:54, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
