Why i was banned from Wikipedia
Edit
This is why you were banned at Wikipedia. Just look at all the crap you've piled in here. User pages aren't for listing everything about you, but are meant to be a place for you to keep track of things better. I found your Wikipedia page to be overly massive, and distorted the page. Wikipedians would find this as being wasteful and unnecessary. Please understand the concept of simplicity. -- Riffsyphon1024 00:01, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
From Netoholic
Edit
This is what Netoholic over at Wikipedia told me in response to my question.
"Looking this over, I see nothing wrong with the recent block of User:The One Terminators (an apparent new account of User:John-1107). User pages are for project-related purposes only. Granted, people tend to tell a little bit about themselves, but that really helps the project by encouraging the social aspect. John-1107 seems to be abusing that resource. Look at his user page from just before it was blanked. Beyond the chaotic look of it, there is also this disturbing passage:
(WARNING: Due to its adult content, this passage is censored for security reasons; Parental Viewer Discretion Advised. I will not add anymore adult content on the internet. For more information, please read this passage on the last older pre-blanked revision of my now-defunct original Wikipedia user page shown at the top. -- John-1107 17:08, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC))
Now come on. Rape fantasies have no place here.
You tell him, if he wants to come back, he needs to pick one single username to work from, and stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia - even to his own user page. He needs to work seriously, or he won't work at all. -- Netoholic @ 05:20, 23 July 2005 (UTC)" -- Riffsyphon1024 08:15, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I'm not coming back to Wikipedia; Snowspinner will not let me in. Half of the stuff on my user pages on Wikipedia is about my friends. My user pages are personal, not public and i can't use them only to keep track of things traditionally and i don't want to work seriously all the time, just half of the time if i want to. I don't want any more messages that say too much negativity about me. Only i can edit my user pages and my user pages doesn't matter since they are not a concern. I can't add only the real stuff all the time, just half of the time. -- John-1107 15:52, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- You do realize that everything on Wikipedia and Wikicities, including user pages, is in the public domain, meaning it's public. Snowspinner had a fair reason to prevent you from continuing but he should have presented it to the page for banning users to begin with. Regardless it was taking up too much memory for one user page to handle. -- Riffsyphon1024 15:57, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Well, he didn't warn me that i was going to be blocked for claiming political power nor did he warn me that i was going to be banned over user privacy. I needed a user page on the internet that can be my privacy. Only i can edit my user pages. -- John-1107 16:04, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Then if you are so hellbent on privacy, find another site that isn't freely editable. -- Riffsyphon1024 16:31, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I have other userpages on non-freely editable websites, but i feel discontented. Is there another freely editable site in which i can have privacy? -- John-1107 16:35, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I would not know. -- Riffsyphon1024 16:38, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I looked at the Disruptions of this page section of your Wikipedia user page which made me add a similar section to my Wikipedia user pages in order to make them secure and private in any way i see fit. Does this matter to you? -- John-1107 16:43, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I know that all it takes is a simple revert and then everything's fine. Onto what I have discussed with the Wookieepedia community; they do not tolerate wasteful creations, and it will be vigilantly enforced. You must respect that at least, and try to make something useful of your user page instead of fanon and fantasy. -- Riffsyphon1024 16:48, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I can't keep it all real! I'll just keep my user pages half-fact and half-fiction. -- John-1107 16:51, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Maybe you should just get a Geocities site or something. You still might get banned for some of the same things, but no one else would be able edit your pages; you seem quite concerned about that. – Aidje talk 00:02, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)
That takes too long! I don't know what to do! We should end this discussion for now. -- Eddyward Telerionus 00:05, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Have you even looked at free hosting? You should. It shouldn't take long at all, and it's certainly a better place for personal fiction than a collaborative encyclopedia—if you can keep the rape fantasies out of it—those don't belong anywhere. Seriously, check it out. You're welcome to contribute here, but you are misusing your user page. It should be used for things relating to the project, not your life story (and what you wish your life story was). – Aidje talk 02:47, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I hate free web hosting because:
- i don't want my personal website to last forever.
- i'm not an adult yet and my parents won't let me.
- i'm not misusing my user page since i am already using my user page at Wikipedia's Meta-Wiki in order to comply with some of their traditional laws.
- i am addicted and truly loyal to Wikimedia since i like editing anything.
- they're not much detailed as Wikimedia websites.
- i don't have anyplace else to go.
Now, should we stop talking now please? -- Eddyward Telerionus 04:07, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- i don't want my personal website to last forever.
- You can take it down at any time. With any MediaWiki, however, your edit history will always be visible.
- i'm not an adult yet and my parents won't let me.
- Do they know you're using this? Somehow I doubt that you've told them about it.
- i'm not misusing my user page since i am already using my user page at Wikipedia's Meta-Wiki in order to comply with some of their traditional laws.
- You are using your user page for a large amount of material that is in no way related to this project.
- i am addicted and truly loyal to Wikimedia since i like editing anything.
- Fine. You can still come here to do that.
- they're not much detailed as Wikimedia websites.
- I don't understand what you mean by that, but that's okay.
- i don't have anyplace else to go.
- I don't like free web hosting either, but I think you should consider Wookieepedia a non-option for the stuff you're putting on your user page. – Aidje talk 04:45, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- i don't want my personal website to last forever.
Leave me alone! I don't want to talk right now! I can put whatever i want on my user pages on any Wiki website as long as i see fit, but i have to make sure i don't put any inappropriate stuff. -- Eddyward Telerionus 05:08, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Please stop
Edit
Please stop removing other people's comments from your talk page. This is considered very bad etiquette. Why would you want other people to think that you had something to hide? I'll assume that you just didn't know any better, but consider yourself... advised. – Aidje talk 02:43, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Agreed. Also stop spamming this user page content over every single wiki or you're likely to find yourself blocked from Wikicities completely. Angela (talk) 04:16, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)
This is your final warning. Please take your user page elsewhere. It is not welcome on any Wikicity. Angela (talk) 04:21, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)
