"The hallmark of a well-managed organization is not the absence of problems, but whether or not problems are effectively resolved."
Congratulations on becoming an Administrator!
Hi there, and welcome to the Administration. You've been elected to this position because the community feels that you possess the qualities and integrity which is required of Wookieepedia's administrators. We look forward to having you as part of the team. As a new administrator, there are some things that you should be aware of before using your newly granted sysop tools. The following links will provide you various overviews of what it means to be an administrator, and will guide you in using your sysop tools. Likewise, don't be afraid to ask more experienced administrators, via their talk pages, IRC, or the administrator mailing list, if you have any questions or concerns about the position. Hey, Jorrel. Congrats on your successful RFA! Use your new tools wisely ;) I'm glad to see you and Cav, two users who deserve this, be made into administrators of our fair site :) As an administrator, you're now entitled to an @ wookieepedia.com email address account. If you would like one, please contact me and I'll set one up for you. Likewise, feel free to subscribe to the Administrator's Email list, a list that we use for important matters, community/administrator updates, as well as other things. Again, welcome to the team, Jorrel :) Oh, and happy belated birthday! Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 07:01, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Nothing to see here?
- Perhaps it would be best for you to accept the voting choices people make and stop posting a response after every single comment. Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:17, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, I thought that's what the CT was for: to discuss changes to the site, not to vote and ditch, which is admittedly easier but often the reason we end up deadlocked after two weeks. By creating discussion, there's a more fluid system. Now, in this instance for example, 4dot doesn't have to do anything about the comment. That doesn't mean it's not valid. Jorrel

- A CT is for discussion. A CT is not for trying to rebuke every single comment one disagrees with. Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:31, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- I don't see any rebuking. I see a user trying to convince or explain his position in an effort to clarify, one way or the other. Again, I see nothing in IthinkIwannaLeia's comment up there (or any other on the page) that breaks any sort of policy. This doesn't necessarily mean it changes anything, either: it's 4dot's choice to respond or not to, be it a comment in response, a vote change, anything. I don't see how stifling a user's concerns, heeded or not, is helpful to anyone. Jorrel

- I didn't say it was breaking policy, and I'm not trying to stifle discussion. But it reaches a point where it just becomes disrespectful when someone has to have a comeback to each vote comment that doesn't correspond with his own opinion. I think it's best for someone to leave their two cents in their own voting comment and the Comments section below and be done with it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:53, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- That I can (and do) agree with. Rest of the details hashed out (because I like the wording of "hashed out) on IRC. Jorrel
