Legends names in "Blade Squadron" Edit

Hi, Professor Tofty! I just wanted to chime in to say that the "Legends" names that remain in the Blade Squadron are in fact redirects that should be overriden. It happens that the text does use those names, which are only alternate names found in the Legends continuity. I'm not sure I'm making myself very clear, though. ^^" --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 19:39, May 30, 2014 (UTC)

Novelizations Edit

The movie novelizations are canon to the extent that we keep them in the Appearances section; however, they should generally not be used in references. Cheers, 1358 (Talk) 19:47, May 30, 2014 (UTC)

  • They should be there. The novelizations were declared canon where they intersect with the movies, which means at least certain parts of them are canon. Cheers, 1358 (Talk) 20:13, May 30, 2014 (UTC)
    • Yes, and in fact this has been discussed among several regulars and there will probably be a vote on it during next week or so. For now, however, I'd ask you to stop removing the instances as I think we should default to listing all canon items, novels included. 1358 (Talk) 20:22, May 30, 2014 (UTC)

Re: CSD Edit

The article was deleted because most of it was just copy/pasted from the Legends article. You're completely welcome to recreate the article, just make sure that it's worded differently. IFYLOFD (Enter the Floydome) 00:22, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

  • You definitely added some extra stuff on, but too much of the text was identical. Like I said, you're welcome to recreate it. IFYLOFD (Enter the Floydome) 00:27, September 5, 2014 (UTC)
    • Personally, (and I mean this as no disrespect) I think it's just lazy. What's the point of clicking on the canon version of an article if what's within is identical to the one you're already on? For all intents and purposes, we're treating these as two separate articles, and the wording within should be separate. IFYLOFD (Enter the Floydome) 00:36, September 5, 2014 (UTC)
      • Not to butt in, but while I don't subscribe to the laziness argument, there is the copyright element to it as well. It's free to copy, sure, but there are requirements that you have to meet in order to copy it. The ShareAlike requirement is taken care of by default, considering everything here is CC-BY-SA, but there's also the Attribution requirement. You would have to put a tag on the page saying that content has been reused from the original page, as well as a provide a link to the authors of the original content. Considering that would not be great for user engagement (to Floyd's point, it's a deterrence), you should just start from scratch. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:45, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

WOTM nomination Edit

Hey Tofty. I've nominated you for Wookieepedian of the Month. Do you accept the nomination? I hope so! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:03, September 15, 2014 (UTC)

Infobox images Edit

Please be aware that infobox images no longer require a specified size. The infoboxes are now coded to determine this automatically. Adding |300px is now unnecessary. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:13, September 30, 2014 (UTC)

Congratulations on becoming Wookieepedian of the Month! Well deserved. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:27, October 1, 2014 (UTC)

  • Congratulations :) Would you be interested in doing an interview? Supreme Emperor (talk) 00:01, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

Interview Edit

Alright, I should be able to get you some questions tomorrow night. Also, let me know if you have any image preferences. Supreme Emperor (talk) 00:19, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Questions Edit

  1. How did you react when you discovered you had been nominated?
  2. How did you first discover Star Wars?
  3. On that note, how did you first find Wookieepedia?
  4. What was your reaction when the NuCanon was announced?
  5. You have been editing here quite a bit as of late, mostly working on NuCanon articles. What made you decide to start there?
  6. Tell us a bit about some of the other Wikis you have worked on
  7. As I have asked all previous winners, what role do you feel Wookieepedia plays in the greater Star Wars community?
  8. Got any words of advice or wisdom for those hoping to start editing?
  9. If you could change one thing about the site, what would it be?
  10. What are some of your favorite Star Wars works?
  11. Do you have any future projects planned?
  12. What kind of impact would you like to leave on Wookieepedia?

That's it. I'm on the IRC most nights if you want to pm me the answers there, or they can just be left on my talk page. Have fun :) Supreme Emperor (talk) 03:15, October 7, 2014 (UTC)

Adventures of Luke Skywalker Edit

Hey. I see you have The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight. I won't have it until Monday, so can you tell me if Vader's funeral is in it at all, and what it says about it? I'll need that info to update my GA, Funeral of Anakin Skywalker. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:27, October 8, 2014 (UTC)

What's wrong with my quote? Edit

Hey guy. I see you removed my last quote. I know it wasn't formatted correctly and all. I'm kinda more used to editing smaller things than such.

I know it's not exactly the best idea challenging you since you seem to scan this entire wiki up and down and obviously you are a huge fan. But I just don't see what's wrong with the quote i was just using. Not only is it better than Vader's current quote that doesn't say much, it's revealing what being a Stormtrooper is like, not just "there is lot's of them." I'm currently trying to find a better quote to use than Vader's. It just isn't fair. Stormtroopers had a massive impact on the Star Wars universe (obviously) and giving them a quote like "let's just keep throwing them into battle because we have tonnes of them" just isn't very fitting for my liking. Perhaps a quote actually being SAID by a Stormtrooper for instance. Unsigned comment by Heatlineheard (talk • contribs).

Still on quote Edit

In that case, would it be wise to perhaps kill a bird with two stones? Get rid of the quote on that unpopular section to home it to another page? One where it would be better off? Your call. Unsigned comment by Heatlineheard (talk • contribs).

Warning Edit

This is a warning to you regarding the creation of "new canon" subjects. I will cite Wookieepedia:Notability policy: "Subjects that both appeared within new canon material and received names and backstories within material that falls under the Legends brand shall not receive new canon articles until they receive names in material that is considered canon." Your creation of the "Yoda's species/Canon" page violates this policy as far as I can see. There does not appear to be any source that uses the term "Yoda's species," and this is not the first article creation of yours that I will have deleted now on these grounds. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:43, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

  • Why are you asking me? It's your responsibility as the article creator to verify the validity of a subject. You should never be creating articles because you see redlinks pointing somewhere on Wookieepedia. Wookieepedia is not a source. You are required to verify each article subject you create. If you continue to create articles without proper verification, punitive actions will be considered. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:53, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

Changing these notability requirements further is something I intend to propose whenever we have the next Mofference (the last Mofference is when conjecturally-titled events became allowed). In the meantime I'd just encourage you to watch out for anything that doesn't have an official name. If it had a name in Legends and even seems conjectural in Canon, then I'd avoid creating it. That's what I tend to do. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:18, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

  • Sounds like a good idea to me. As for this-- well, heh, actually it didn't have a name in Legends. The subject name was conjecture from the go anyway and was tagged so on the Legends article, which was one of the things that threw me. (As for this not being the first such article I've created that has been deleted for that, I could be wrong, but I think actually it is. True lightsaber combat wasn't properly sourced at first, but it was fixed [and thank you for that, Toprawa].) ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:21, October 16, 2014 (UTC)
    • If we can find a conjectural name in canon that more or less matches the Legends name, we end up using it. That's something Tope and I have worked on in a few cases. Regarding Yoda's species, the Legends page is actually tagged with the nickname template. Presumably, that means "Yoda's species" has been used in Legends and therefore works as a name, even if it's just a nickname. If it was a conjectural name, I would agree with you considering the wording of the policy (i.e. it does not say that conjecturally-named Legends subjects cannot have a Canon counterpart). - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:38, October 16, 2014 (UTC)
  • Where is the term "Advanced Recon Commando" used in Canon to validate the article you just created? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:04, October 16, 2014 (UTC)
    • If need be, it can be moved to ARC Trooper, which is used in canon. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:22, October 16, 2014 (UTC)
      • Alright, I'm going to go ahead and put this at ARC Trooper. ProfessorTofty (talk) 23:31, October 16, 2014 (UTC)
        • Then let this be your final warning regarding this. You need to check sources and verify titles and information before you create articles or add information to this wiki. To repeat, Wookieepedia is not a source. That means do not assume that information is correct just because you find it on this wiki. The next time you add unverified information to Wookieepedia, you will be blocked from editing. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:35, October 16, 2014 (UTC)
          • Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions. I think it'd be quite nutty if a current Wookieepedian of the Month was blocked over something so trivial and innocent. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:37, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

Anakin Skywalker/CanonEdit

I would like to help with the major changes taking place on the article. Matt Seay added a bulk of the info to the article and I would like to help out. 17:23, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Skywalker ArticleEdit

Alright man. I am sure those things were not done intentionally but I can see it does need a lot of work. Just let me know when you are ready for me jump in and help. 17:32, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Clone Wars SourceEdit

I have no idea why I am having such a hard time with a simple sourcing edit, but I can not seem to get the Clone Wars Movie source to work. I am going to remove the Inuse Tag and can you please help me with it? Skywalker2255 (talk) 21:25, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Databank Edit

Hey man. Quick heads up regarding Databank and Encyclopedia links (as a follow-up to the edit I made to CC-5576-39). Per the Layout Guide, specifically the Canon sub-section of the Sources section, Encyclopedia and Databank links have a specific order they go in. The Encyclopedia is treated as if its publication date was July 1, 2014, as that was its last day in operation. The Databank always goes at the end, because it's treated as something that is always evolving and therefore does not have a publication date. I hope that clears things up. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:42, October 18, 2014 (UTC)

Slaves of the RepublicEdit

Since the Inuse tag is still on it can you add the info from that story arch to the Anakin Skywalker/Canon article? Skywalker2255 (talk) 05:19, October 19, 2014 (UTC)

Lothal/Kothal Edit

Regarding this, there is a city on Lothal called Kothal. Is that what the book could be referring to? I don't have it so I don't know the context the word is used in. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:25, October 22, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I had no idea. I suppose it certainly could be, then. I got the book from the library and don't have it right now, so I just undone my edit. I'll try to check a copy of it later. ProfessorTofty (talk) 05:04, October 22, 2014 (UTC)

Sources Edit

Hey Tofty. Please remember to add appropriate sources to pages, such as Double-bladed lightsaber. When something from the movies/TV shows isn't named on-screen, but in textual material, it's important that you directly reference where that name is used. That way, people can be sure of the accuracy of the information. There was also information, including in the infobox, that was not sourced.

Tope has pointed out sourcing issues to you before, and the admins are very serious about this. You are a good and productive editor, and one of the few people who document canon information, but that documentation has to be done right. The admins are rightly going to insist on following the rules, and this is an easily correctable mistake. If you have questions or are unsure of something, please let me know so I can help. I don’t want to see you (or anyone, for that matter) blocked, and the admins will probably do this now that this issue has happened a number of times, so I will help wherever I can. Thanks. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 01:48, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

  • Putting 1stID for double-bladed lightsaber after 100 Scenes would've actually been inaccurate, since canon sources from before 100 Scenes use it (I added some to the page). The most important thing is making sure that there's a reference especially, referencing the name so people know exactly where to look. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 02:03, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Balloon Edit

Thank you for warning me. To be perfectly frank, I suspected that TC proposal would end up happening some day. But I will refrain from voicing my opinion right now, since I certainly am partial about that—the guys who made the balloon and I were members of the Belgian 501st Legion FanWars Garrison, and good friends too. I don't think my stand on the matter would be objective enough, at least for now. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 13:55, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Fixes, templates and tips Edit

Thanks for fixing the title for me. I will be sure leave the templates in place. This is actually only the second page I have created so far, so I am new to this, and could use the tips. I am already working to add in proper sources and links. If you see anything else I could do to improve this page, please let me know. Unsigned comment by Rifleman556x45 (talk • contribs).

PS4 screenshots Edit

yeah its a pretty neat feature, the PS4 has a "share" button that lets you take screenshots of anything you are doing on the PS4 and upload them to social media. The downside is you have to use twitter or facebook to retrieve the image. But I think its a great way in theory to get blu-ray screenshots of high quality... I think. ralok (talk) 20:57, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

Sentinel BaseEdit

Professor, ummm...In Tarkin (novel); Sentinel Base is not the Death Star. It's the base Tarkin was stationed at while it was under construction. Just a friendly correction! Nivlacanator (talk) 21:12, November 9, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Interview Edit

I already interviewed authors in the past myself, and I didn't follow those rules either. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know they existed in the first place, even though "'ignorance of the law is no excuse." I'm still waiting for Exilejedi's answer, but yes, I think I'll proceed with the interview anyway. ;-) --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 21:11, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Sentinel BaseEdit

Yah—that was me who changed it first. For some reason while I was reading the book I was possesed by some evil thing and was convinced it was not the D Star. lol Nivlacanator (talk) 21:56, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Delcan Finyaft Edit

Hello, Professor. Good meeting you, seeing as this is our first introduction :)

I added the template because I'm still learning a lot of the sourcing - notes and references sections, mostly - done on this Wiki. It's not so much that the ducks aren't in a row, as you put it, but it's more of a request for another to make the nessecary referance edits.

Thanks for the imput, I'll do my best to watch that in the future! ShatterClub|talk|TOR Wiki Bureaucrat 05:03, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

  • Allright, I removed the Citation template, and seeing as Finyaft isn't even really recognized by Google (let alone Wookiepedia), I'll see about adding his name to the appropriate pages. ShatterClub|talk|TOR Wiki Bureaucrat 06:03, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Images and authors Edit

Hey, Tofty, please don't add the authors of books in the author field (now renamed the artist field) in {{Information}} when uploading a file. That field is reserved for the creator of the actual image, not the product that it's from. Thanks. Cade StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 17:20, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Book trailers Edit

Hey Tofty. Just a heads up: you can also use the Jedi Academy book trailers on YouTube as a source for images (in colour), quotes and audio files for your work on the series. Cheers and keep up the great work! Stake black msg 11:45, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

  • Yeah, it was an interesting interview :) I would've liked to see more focus on information that could be added to the Wook tough. From what I remember, interviews were mostly about that, getting more licensed info from the author, sorting out ambiguities, that kind of thing. I'm not sure whether this practice has changed, but either way good job :) Stake black msg 12:13, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

Removing comments Edit

Just a heads-up that removing comments well after they were made like you did here is not permitted. If the comment no longer applies and you wish to indicate that fact, the appropriate thing to do is to strike it out just like an objection with <s>struck comment here</s>. :) —MJ— Comlink 15:41, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Revan Edit

Except it's not actually in use because he said he won't be editing it for a few days.--Gboy4 (talk) 01:24, December 5, 2014 (UTC)

  • Cade has already updated today. Additionally, as the nominator of the current Revan FAN, it's incumbent upon him to ensure that the article is of sufficient quality. Considering he wrote the rest of the page, having a consistent voice is also important in a FAN. So the inuse tag was valid, IMO. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:38, December 5, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Decide Your Destiny Edit

I have sent an interview request to Jonathan Green, but I still haven't received any asnwer, unfortunately. Guess you're right about the inuse tag too. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 02:05, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Galactic gourmet Edit

Hey Tofty, sorry I didn't catch it before the nom passed, but I have a few last minute objections for you.

  • The table of contents needs to be removed with __NOWIKI__
  • "One individual known to have achieved it spent years training in restaurants" Please identify who the individual was.
  • I don't think you need so much context on what the Jedi Temple is, it really isn't relevant to the title. Supreme Emperor (talk) 15:14, December 20, 2014 (UTC)

    • While I agree the source is obscure, I searched other D-LF books on that site, and the other release dates match up with Amazon, Edelweiss, and Hachette. Time will tell though, we'll find out just how credible it is soon enough. --Dentface (talk) 00:43, February 26, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, Tofty! I'm still very much incensed about the whole Legends/Canon shenanigan, but it seems that I "need" to keep editing here. I can't help myself, apparently. --LelalMekha (talk) 15:29, March 2, 2015 (UTC)

Rebel in the Ranks placementEdit

Hey Tofty; just wanted to let you know that you'll need to update the timeline of canon media page and bump Rebel in the Ranks back a slot if you plan to do so in the appearances section. I'm inclined to agree with your new suggested placement of it, and would change it myself if I wasn't on mobile. Figured I'd give you the heads up though so you can update it. Cevan (talk) 03:20, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks! Just to note, you may need to re-adjust some of the appearances sections of places/people/things who appear in the book in light of this timeline change. Cevan (talk) 03:31, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Monong Edit

Hello Tofty! Yes, I did see it on the page you're working on. I would have warned you sooner or later, but it seems you've done it without my help. If I ever notice anything else, I'll let you know beforehand. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:46, March 6, 2015 (UTC)

Sykes Canon Edit

Hi, can I ask your advice about the Gavyn Sykes page? The following sources confirm that "Yes, Lt. Sykes is the official canon reason Anakin was able to enter the ship in Episode I." – Leland Chee Gavyn%20Sykes%20Star%20Wars%20Insider%20Magazine.JPG

If we accept that Sykes is therefore part of the "official canon" of "Episode I", and as we know Episode I is part of the new canon also rather than Legends, is it fair to say that not just the Legends banner should appear above the Sykes page, but also the Canon banner?--DeArthus (talk) 03:53, March 7, 2015 (UTC)

Rebel in the RanksEdit

Sorry, forgot to check. I automatically scroll down to the section I hope to edit, so I missed the tag. Its a great series of books, and it expands on my favorite episode. Hope you enjoyed it too. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 17:30, March 7, 2015 (UTC)

  • Since the books aren't as long, I can read them in one sitting. I love how the new Canon has expanded so much on the GE, and its great seeing more stormie training. I can see the next book taking place between Breaking Ranks and Vision of Hope, then 4 being the epic conclusion. Re:Princess Leia articleEdit

Tofty, you so silly! It's really not a big deal (to me at least), I'm currently working on the second issue of the Leia series and don't want anyone to add that information. Do you know if there's a banner that is used just to mark a certain section of an article? Thanks! Calvin Schubert(talk) 04:17, March 27, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, I was thinking about that...I'll ask Cade or someone. Thanks for caring and stuff! Calvin Schubert(talk) 05:51, March 28, 2015 (UTC)

Ryoo Naberrie canon pageEdit

Hi Professor Tofty. I've just noticed that you created Ryoo Naberrie's canon page, but I think you made a little mistake. The woman in the image you uploaded is not Ryoo. In the funeral scene, Ryoo is briefly seen with her sister Pooja, walking behind her grandparents. See this image: [1]. The woman in your picture, who is probably one of the handmaidens, is behind Jar Jar and Boss Nass. Regards. -- LennyF Naboo(Talk) 19:07, April 6, 2015 (UTC)

  • Thank you for your reply. We can see two girls on the image I sent you, Pooja is the curly-haired girl, but Ryoo can be partially seen on the very left side of the picture (with the blue cloak). She looks like the image of Ryoo I uploaded for her Legends page. Where did you see that the girl in your image was Ryoo? I know that Jason Fry has mistaken Sola Naberrie for the handmaiden Umé in Star Wars in 100 Scenes.--LennyF Naboo(Talk) 19:43, April 6, 2015 (UTC)
    • And the image you uploaded for Sola's canon page is her mother, Jobal. As far as I know, Sola is not seen in the funeral scene, only in promotional images.--LennyF Naboo(Talk) 19:59, April 6, 2015 (UTC)
      • Yes, I've always been wondering where Karvan was in this scene. She is listed in the credits, but we can't get a glimpse of her in the film. Another question for which we won't have any answer I'm afraid. And the girl in the cloak behind Jar Jar is definitely not Ryoo, but an unidentified handmaiden. This image's description is incorrect. I was really happy when three other handmaidens in this scene were finally named by Leland Chee in Insider #142, even though it's probably not considered as canon anymore. :-(--LennyF Naboo(Talk) 21:03, April 6, 2015 (UTC)
        • Thanks to you for uploading another image for Ryoo's canon page. We can only hope that Sola will be mentioned in the upcoming Ultimate Star Wars or another book, and correctly this time. I'll keep my fingers crossed. ;-) -- LennyF Naboo(Talk) 21:44, April 6, 2015 (UTC)

Re: EdelweissEdit

About 4 months ago, I signed up for Edelweiss (and for the heck of it) registered myself as an editor at Disney Book Group, and it said verification pending at the time. I checked the pages the other day, and I was able to access them. I dunno if the two things are connected though. --Dentface (talk) 01:47, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hmm, I didn't realize they were inaccessible until you pointed it out. When I logged out of the account I couldn't access them anymore. Maybe see what the admins have to think? I can easily provide screenshots of the pages if that'd fly. Although, I get where you're coming from since not everyone can see the pages. --Dentface (talk) 01:52, April 25, 2015 (UTC)
    • I thought about it, and I remember awhile when some of the listings were leaked as public (and then subsequently privated) I had screenshots taken of those listings, and the admins didn't want the pages. So I think it'd probably be best to delete them. I'll tag them for speedy deletion soon. --Dentface (talk) 03:40, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

Attack on Imperial interrogator droids Edit

Hey Tofty. Since you helped write Attack on Imperial interrogator droids, feel free to add {{User GA|Attack on Imperial interrogator droids}} to your user page now that it's a Good Article. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:42, April 30, 2015 (UTC)

Instruction Edit

When creating an out-of-universe article, you are required to provide a Bibliography or External links section, just like you would provide an Appearances or Sources section for in-universe articles. Just adding a source to the Notes and references doesn't count. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:26, May 2, 2015 (UTC)

Project Harvester Edit

Hey. Since I'm writing Jedi Purge, and I haven't read Servants of the Empire yet, can you give me an overview of Project Harvester so I know what to include? Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:28, May 3, 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks! I'll definitely be reading it eventually. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:38, May 3, 2015 (UTC)
    • Are there any hints about what it may be? The Project, that is. This is me asking out of curiosity, rather than the article. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:40, May 3, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Leia Organa's aunts Edit

My pleasure. ;-) I'm glad (and surprised) that someone brought them back into canon. I've always liked all things Alderaan, especially the House of Organa. Celly Organa was one of my favorite works, and I might do other members of the House at some point. Let's hope we will see more of their canon selves in the future! --LelalMekha (talk) 00:10, May 6, 2015 (UTC)

TFA spoiler proposal Edit

Hey Tofty. I've added the adoption of a spoiler template for The Force Awakens to the agenda for tonight's Mofference. This is because of what Tope said regarding the lack of need for a CT. Because there's already a CT underway, however, we can't simply retract it due to the unclear guidelines around whether a CT can be pulled once it begins. I will therefore propose this, with the understanding that the CT will be closed if the template is adopted in the Mofference. That will allow us to quickly get the new template up, without having to go through a long CT. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:41, May 16, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Raygar high treason Edit

Hello there! Well, yes, you are right about that: unlike the Droids series, the Ewok series took place "behind closed doors." It had very little ties with the wider galaxy all around. Then again, I think this was an interesting concept, because such spinoffs allow you to make more world building without constraint. It lets you build a planet in detail, which the more "all around the galaxy" story don't. Of course, it was all very childish, and the villains were often over the top -- sometimes in a way that would make Colin Baker's Sixth Doctor blush. But that was all part of what made this series attractive, I guess. Kitsch nostalgia. :-) Moreover, many episodes were written by Paul Dini, who also wrote for Batman: The Animated Series. Regardless how childish those episodes might have been, they never were amateurish. --LelalMekha (talk) 09:45, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Anthology Edit

I just figured it was a placeholder name just like "Star Wars: The Force Awakens 8x8 #1" or the other stuff like that. None of the other TFA books have gotten an official title, so I assumed "Character Anthology" wasn't official either. --Dentface (talk) 20:59, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

Book coversEdit

I did a trick where I took a random Simon & Schuster cover, and replaced the isbn in the image file's name with the ISBN on those books to receive their covers, so that exact URL is my source. However, while looking for the TPBs I'm currently adding, I noticed that BookManager has the covers up too. --Dentface (talk) 23:36, July 7, 2015 (UTC)

Conjecture canon pages Edit

Hey ProfessorTofty. In regards to the notability policy for canon pages, please see this discussion I had with Cevan. To reiterate, if a subject exists in Legends and canon and is conjecturally named in Legends, then it can receive a conjectural canon article. It's only when the subject is officially named in Legends but not in canon that a conjectural canon article cannot be created. Hope that helps. CC7567 (talk) 23:39, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

  • No problem. The policy might need to be revised in the future due to the proliferation of canon articles, but that's a different discussion. CC7567 (talk) 23:59, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

Egon, Cyrus, and CronahEdit

You sourced Egon as a Dathomirian Zabrak to the first non-canon Jedi Academy book, but someone recently changed it to Iridonian Zabrak. They also changed Cyrus to a Dathomirian Zabrak. I don't have the books, so could you please confirm whether the Jedi Academy books state the homeworld? Trip391 (talk) 03:38, August 3, 2015 (UTC)

  • Also Cronah Trip391 (talk) 03:41, August 3, 2015 (UTC)
  • That's what I was thinking. Iridonian Zabrak are pretty much just Zabrak from Iridonia, but there's no difference to Zabrak from other planets, and it's just to classify them I guess. Trip391 (talk) 17:00, August 3, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Meat/CanonEdit

The difference was that the Canon article was just created. There was also a discussion on IRC about the article with involving the article creator and several others. It was agreed upon that there wasn't enough notable information included in the Canon article at this point even if the regular article is kept. Therefore, the last part of the rule was followed: "Outside of such areas, items with real-world equivalents will normally be deleted upon creation via the speedy deletion process unless a compelling argument can rapidly be presented for their preservation."--Exiled Jedi (talk) 23:45, August 15, 2015 (UTC)

Zare in "Assessment" Edit

Hello there! Since you're working so hard on Zare Leonis' article, you may be interested in knowing that he has a brief cameo in the short comic "Assessment," which was published in the lastest issue of the Star Wars Rebels Magazine. If you want, I can give you a summary and provide a picture. --LelalMekha (talk) 22:53, November 9, 2015 (UTC)

  • Let's go, then... The story takes place right before Zare travels to Arkanis. Assessor Potalla is sent from Coruscant, along with her assistant Dunum, to evaluate the suitability of Aresko and Grint for their posts—due to the many incidents that took place at the Academy. Since Zare was at the forefront during the rebel attack and the incident with the AT-DP, Potalla notably decides to interrogate him personally. When she asks Zare about Aresko and Grint's teahcing methods, he answers that they are both great teachers, and that he wouldn't have become the outstanding cadet he is without them. Then, Potalla mentions the AT-DP incident, saying that, if she didn't know better, she'd think that Zare was actually helping the rebels. Zare then explains that he was being threatened and did all he could, to no avail. Besides, the rebels took the academy personel by surprise, and there was nothing they could have done. Luckily enough, Potalla confesses that she never actually suspected him to be a traitor, she only wanted to see if he lived up to his superiors' reports. She calls him an impressivre young man and a fine future officer, and says she's sure he'll do well on Arakanis. --LelalMekha (talk) 23:12, November 9, 2015 (UTC)
    • To make a short story er... somewhat shorter, Sabine and Chopper infiltrate the Academy while Potallo is still there, in hopes of planting explosives in the academy's weapons storage. Aresko and Grint cannot stop Sabine from doing that, but they do manage to make it look like Dunum—who would very much like to occupy either of their functions—helped her get in. Although Potallo tells them it'll make a difference in her report... it does not. She immediately reports to Tarkin, recommending swift intervention. Tarkin, of course, says he'll have to come personally. (I'm preparing a picture for you. But the scan won't be very good, I'm afraid...) --LelalMekha (talk) 23:32, November 9, 2015 (UTC)
      • Here. You've got a choice: 1 or 2. --LelalMekha (talk) 23:59, November 9, 2015 (UTC)

Canon/Legends Articles Edit

I didn't realize the policy on not copy/pasting the Legends info. However, what's the point of said policy? If Wookieepedia is supposed to be a resource for Star Wars information, why wouldn't we want to update the Canon articles as soon as possible? The pages I updated were for 99 and Huyang, characters whose only appearances are in The Clone Wars TV show, and therefore are identical in Canon and Legends. I removed any sources that could be considered Legends, and the information derived from them. Why does it matter if the articles are written in the same language if they are presenting identical information? What purpose does that serve other than slowing down the Canon expansion?

Zare Leonis Edit

Hi Professor Tofty,

Regarding the Zare Leonis article, I'll be willing to work on expanding the sections relating to Servants of the Empire: Rebel in the Ranks. I've just managed to get the second and third books and hopefully the fourth book next. I'll also be happy to go over the other sections in the Zare Leonis article to see if it can be trimmed down for brevity. But I think it's a very good effort on your part. I have been working on other articles relating to Servants of the Empire and Star Wars Rebels. So, it's good to hear from someone who shares that interest. Will be happy to help. Andykatib 01:32, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

  • I've read the first, second, and third books. I could cover the articles (or sections) for characters and other topics in the first three books. Some areas of interest for me would be the Jai Kell, Currahee, and the Pandak Symes articles. In the meantime, I've worked on the Nazhros Oleg article and the Rebel in the Ranks material in the Ezra Bridger article. I'll dive in and do up to the areas where I have read. Look forward to getting my hands on the fourth book. Can't wait to watch the Force Awakens. Will be interesting to see whether that Commandant Hux at the Arkanis Academy is related to General Hux? Andykatib 01:41, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
    • That sounds like a good plan. Will let you finish the rest of the Secret Academy material. Once that's over, I'll start adding the Rebel in the Ranks content. We could also expand the Personality and traits section and add in a BTS section. All the best. Andykatib 02:03, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Pretor Flats Academy Edit

Hi Tofty,

I have just been in touch with Jason Fry by email. I asked him about Pretor Flats Academy and he says that it's an Imperial Academy but less prestigious that the Academy for Young Imperials. Here's his response:

Congrats on the degree. Pretor Flats is another Imperial academy, but a less prestigious one than the one in Capital City. Yokel Flats is Oleg's sneering reference to the same place in an attempt to insult Dev -- "yokel" means rube, hayseed, bumpkin, etc. Best. J

I'll inscribe it onto Wookieepedia and make the necessary changes.

Best regards, Andykatib 02:29, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

  • Putting it in the Behind the Scenes section sounds like a good idea. Thanks for your input. Andykatib 04:16, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Regarding the bit of uncertainty over the Escape from Darth Vader illustrator, I just noticed on the book's cover, if you look closely next to C-3PO's leg, you can see the initials "SR." So I think that pretty much confirms it for us. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 06:01, January 6, 2016 (UTC)
