SOCL, welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Community Portal talk page or ask me on my Talk page. May the Force be with you! -- Riffsyphon1024 03:16, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

Sources Edit

You may want to hold off on fixing all the citations for sources — over on Wookieepedia talk: Community Portal#Proposal: Make appearances / sources templates, we're discussing what the correct format should be. Many users are of the opinion that just listing the title is sufficient. — Silly Dan 12:10, 17 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Welcome backEdit

Hey Saul. Haven't seen you on here for while. I can see why though. Sorry to hear about your girlfriend and everything. Hope you continue to contribute to the site.

P.S. I hope you like all the new members I invited to your SW group on facebook. I'm going to attempt to make it useful one of these days. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:15, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Imperial Remnant Executive Branch Edit

My apologies. I was just adapting the Imperial Remnent infobox to the new template. I did not mean to imply anything, It was just an error I made based on what was written on the old template. —QX100 21:19 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Edit

I see that you gave me one of those welcomings, that ask you to make an account. Thanks but, I already, have one I just forget to sign in. Fatguy2006 23:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Apology. Edit

Sorry about all that stuff on Talk:Emperor (Legacy era) and Talk:Imperial Remnant. I was acting like a complete idiot there. Sometimes I just take things way too seriously. Once again, sorry. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 20:03, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Image Edit

Hi SOCL, some concerns were brought up regarding the main image on your user page. For now, we are not asking you to remove it, but please blank out the link, as it is deemed inappropriate for many of the people visiting this site. Thank you for your cooperation! —Xwing328(Talk) 21:03, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Disregard that last comment. They just wanted the link removed from the image description page. —Xwing328(Talk) 21:07, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

--KSK 15:51, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

EN userboxEdit

FYI: I recently learned that using more than one level of EN (more than one English userbox) screws up the auto-categorization system. So it'd probably be best if you just picked one. (Had to change my userpage too!) Cheers. Gonk (Gonk!) 15:17, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Grand Admiral Article Edit

I noticed that you have a lot of edits on the Grand Admiral article. After Jack's addition of references, I think it qualifies for GA status. I've already suggested to him that he nominate it and I wanted to alert you in case you had anything you wanted to add to it before we start running over it for the nomination. Thanks for your hard work! --School of Thrawn 101 05:39, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

PellaeonEdit

  • I reverted it because his first name was known at least as far back as The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook. I didn't add that in as first mention, though, because I'm pretty sure it was actually mentioned before that, though I haven't had a chance to look through my novels and/or other sourcebooks to check. jSarek 23:11, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

ChimaeraEdit

Interesting, I was unaware of that. I'll adjust the Bts accordingly. jSarek 02:44, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Pelly's ageEdit

Actually, that's the *younger* of the two age estimates one can have for Pellaeon. To quote myself from earlier in that same thread, before Tasty provided the Holocron's contents:

Source:  Event Timeline and Character Age Discussion threadAttribution:  jSarek

There's actually contradictory dates for this.

One method of dating places his birth approximately 56 BBY, since he lied about his age to join the Academy at age 15 (Force Heretic 1), and had served in the Fleet for fifty years during Thrawn's return in 9 ABY (Heir to the Empire Sourcebook). This is the dating I use on my website.

However, a single smidgen of game information in the Dark Force Rising Sourcebook claims he is "70+" at the time of that novel. That would place his birthdate sometime before 61 BBY.

I prefer the former for three reasons:

1. The latter is strictly from game statistics, which Tasty (I think) has mentioned before is regarded with less authority than novels and non-statistic material from RPGs.

2. The DFRSB information predates our discovery that Pellaeon lied about his age to join the Academy, a fact which wasn't revealed until either The Last Command or The Last Command Sourcebook.

3. The younger Pellaeon is, the longer he can stick around in stories without age defeating him.

Note that Tasty's answer locking his age down was given in February of 2004; the date of 57 BBY has been set in stone for over three years now, well before Dark Nest or LotF came out. It's been a conscious decision on their part to keep The Old Man of the Empire in action at that age, not an oversight. I guess 100 is the new 80. ;-) jSarek 03:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Labyrinth of Evil 2/5? Edit

Why? After the novelization of Episode III, Labyrinth of Evil is my favorite novel. It covers most of the antecedences of the movie, and describes how the Jedi looked for Sidious, exploring The Works, and ending up in 500 Republica, just moments before the attack started. I think it was brilliant. Why didn't you like it? - TopAce (Talk) 20:05, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Bastion Accords Edit

Hello. Since I was writing the german Bastion-article for the Jedipedia, I was looking for some information abbout the Bastion Accords, which I can include into the article. Since you have wrote the wookieepedian article about the accords, and I wasn't finding any hints about its place (besides "on board the chimaera"), I thought you could help me with my research. Thou they are also named Bastion Accords they must have something to do with the planet, but where it is mentiont? --Modgamers 09:52, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, I never post informations without research. The point was, that I searched all to me known sources, and never found any hints. But as it was mentioned in the article, I thought there bust be some kind of truth behind that name. --Modgamers 15:06, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Villian DanceEdit

While the normal abbreviation may be "commander", I'd still say it's OR. That's the Earth abbreviation, not the IU one. As such, adding such a note to the BTS is simply speculation. Who's to say the Imps call each other by their full rank every single time they address one another? It's like calling Major General Maximilian Veers just "General Veers;" it's not that inconceivable. I realize you feel a note is needed, but I disagree. Ultimately, I think it's too much speculation, simply fan analysis based on real-life standards. Does that reasoning make sense? Chack Jadson (Talk) 22:00, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

Protector Edit

So, you wrote the article about the Protector (Imperial-class). I updated the German article with the informations from TCSWE, which retcon the ship to be an Vic2 from X-Wing alliance (de:Protector (Victory II-Klasse)). Thought this might be useful for you. --Modgamers 14:14, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

I meant TCSWE The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. --Modgamers 17:11, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

YJK - CSF question Edit

HI SOCL, I was wondering if you could help me with a little research. The Young Jedi Knights: The Lost Ones articles has an appearance by the Coruscant Security (CSF). However, I don't have the book and so can't say if it was a brief appearance, mention only, or a something more. If you are able, could you look through the book and let me know the details of their appearance. Thanks! Coruscantfan 04:36, November 8, 2010 (UTC)
