Looks rather vulpine

Possible Amaran here? --Eyrezer 08:52, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hmm. It'd say that if there were a bushy tail visible, it'd be a good duck test addition. But without the tail, it could be a Squib, or even a Toki Tolliver-style Bimm. What do you think? ~SavageBOB sig 13:16, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • Or a Drall? ~SavageBOB sig 03:30, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
    • Still looks pretty foxy to me, but you raise good counter-examples. --Eyrezer 07:04, December 6, 2011 (UTC)

Episode I sourcesEdit

M'um m'aloo, Bob! In preparation for the next barn-burner, I'm looking for sources that include the Gungan High Council or any of its members. I'm planning on asking on the forum, but since you're quite the alien buff and it seems you have several sources, I figured it was a safe bet that you have the Ultimate Alien Anthology, so I thought I'd ask you first. Specifically, I'm looking for information from that, the Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide (which I swear I used to have, but it seems to have disappeared), Secrets of Naboo, and the Episode I Adventures, specifically 9, 10, and 11. If you have any of those sources, do you suppose you could let me know where and it what context the council members appear, and what, if any, new information is provided about them? I'd be very appreciative, and I'd be happy to help you with any information you may need from any of my sources. Thank you in advance!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 22:36, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • I'll be happy to help! I have to ask you to wait a bit; the end of the semester is upon me, and my time for the Wook has been relegated to a few minutes here, a few there. But I'll be able to get back to you relatively soon, I think! ~SavageBOB sig 22:48, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
    • By all means, take your time, and thank you again.—Axinal Convocation Chamber 22:53, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
      • From UAA, the sample names are Fassa, Jar Jar, Rugor, Piknab, Carsels, Tarpals, Teers, Toba, Tobler Ceel, and Yoss. Not sure if any of those is a Rep, and it's not a direct mention, but perhaps BTS worthy. ~SavageBOB sig 03:03, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
      • Secrets of Naboo does have a bit of information on the Rep Council: "The boss rules out of Otoh Gunga with the aid of the Rep Council. This body has no administrative power, but its members do provide the boss with information and advice about issues under consideration. Naboo sources report that there is a Rep for every important part of Gungan society, and that this individual speaks on behalf of both the citizens and the industries within that particular sphere of influence. The selection process for choosing Reps and their terms of office remain unknown." (p. 44). Then, "Republic Intelligence is still uncertain about the size of the Gungan Rep Council, and progress in characterizing its members remains slow. Thus far, agents have managed to identify only three of the Reps in Nass's Council by name and profession. These are Rep Teers, who is in charge of maintaining the generators that power Otoh Gunga's hydrostatic bubble; Rep Been, a scholar and historian who serves as a legal and religious advisor to the boss; and Rep Slarm, who is widely regarded as the best bubble wort engineer in Otoh Gunga. The Council meets whenever Nass calls it together. Whether it functions as a group, debating issues internally before approaching the boss, or simply as a collection of independent advisors is unknown." (p. 46) This is from an in-universe Republic Intelligence report. The report mentions several times Republic xenosociologists studying the Gungans, so it sounds like they were contributing to the report (p. 46, for example).
      • Then, under "Gamemaster Notes" there's the out-of-universe bit: "Reps come from all walks of Gungan life. Whenever Boss Nass decides that the Council should have a representative from another field, he asks for candidates and then appoints his choice from among them." The stats for a generic Rep indicate that they can be male or female, they wear a long coat that provides some armor protection, they tend to be skilled at diplomacy, information gathering, some profession or craft or academic pursuit, and OK at bluffing, forgery, appraising goods, and swimming. (p. 47) There's also a black-and-white image of Boss Nass sitting with the Reps, two on either side of him (p. 51). ~SavageBOB sig 03:22, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
  • I'll get back to you on the other stuff! ~SavageBOB sig 03:23, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
    • Thanks so much for what you've gotten so far! Very helpful!—Axinal Convocation Chamber 03:33, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
      • OK, sorry -- I don't have Ep I Adventures 9-11, unfortunately. Hopefully you'll be able to track someone down who does! ~SavageBOB sig 21:11, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

Sanbra Edit

Hey Bob,

I hope you can help me out! As far as you know, are the University of Sanbra articles in Star Wars Gamer written as in-universe reports published by the University of Sanbra? Thanks for any help you can give. Also I can't wait to review Troig. It might have to wait a couple of weeks, but damned if I won't. :P Menkooroo 14:29, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, yeah, I'm pretty sure all the Sanbra articles are written by Tem Eliss as a sentientologist during the time of the New Republic. And I look forward to that review! :) ~SavageBOB sig 14:40, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

Kids? Edit

Hey Bob. This is a pretty big shot in the dark, but you seem to be pretty excellent at digging up really obscure sources... do you know who to talk to if I'm looking for something from Star Wars Kids magazine? Specifically Star Wars Kids 15 (2nd edition) from the second edition runs? If not, no worries. Cheers. Menkooroo 11:38, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yikes, I'm stumped on this one. I checked around, and someone's selling a nearly complete set of the first edition on eBay, but I can't find the second edition of 15 for sale. Sorry, and good luck! ~SavageBOB sig 12:59, December 8, 2011 (UTC)
    • Thanks for trying. :D As near as I can tell, it's a short feature on Shakka that only namedrops Graxol, but the problem is figuring out what the article is actually called. The hunt continues! Menkooroo 15:55, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Echrhin Isdan screenshots Edit

Hi Bob,

just wanted to say that I haven't forgotten you. I took the screenshots of Isdan in front of his hut more than a week ago, but totally forgot to mail them to you. Now they are somewhere among thousands of other screenshots that I took during the last two weeks. It might take a few days to find them, but you'll get the screenshots. --Craven 19:07, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey, no rush. Thanks! ~SavageBOB sig 22:46, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

Re: More Mos Eisley Madness Edit

OK, here are the headshots. And the group shot I put in the "Rogues Gallery" article. Sorry I was unable to edit out the lines from Mosep Binneed's headshot without it looking pretty lousy. I'm tired though, so I'll keep working at it. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:22, December 19, 2011 (UTC)

  • Awesome, man. Thanks so much. Without the lines would be good for Mosep, but don't make yourself crazy trying to do it! :) ~SavageBOB sig 05:06, December 19, 2011 (UTC)
    • Thanks to the official Star Wars Facebook page, we now have the Mosep Binneed image without lines. Use as you see fit. :) - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:00, September 19, 2012 (UTC)

Souvenir Edit

Hooray! I just found Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace: The Official Souvenir Magazine in a box in my basement. You seem like the right guy to share the good news with; I wasn't even sure we had an article on it until I checked your adaptations list. I'll go on a marathon of adding it to sources lists and checking for any new info over the next couple weeks and see about scanning it, too. Menkooroo 18:30, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • Looking at Horox Ryyder's edit history, it seems you already have it. Damn! I wanted to be special! :P Menkooroo 19:10, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
    • Ha! Glad to see someone else found it, though. :) I stumbled across it in a used bookstore a few months ago. Lots of good BTS info in there. ~SavageBOB sig 19:15, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
      • Hey, on that note, do you have the Insider's Guide? I think it might be the last missing piece of my Sei Taria puzzle. Menkooroo 19:18, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
        • I do, at home. If no one else has it, I can check it for you after Christmas. ~SavageBOB sig 19:39, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
          • That would be amazing. Thanks so much for the offer, and Merry Christmas. :) Menkooroo 19:47, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

Episode I 3D poster
Just wanted to encourage everyone participating in December's barn-burner on Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace to keep up the hard work! Only two articles have been passed, but five are currently nominated, and I suspect numerous projects are underway. The month is over halfway through, so we need to hurry and finish as many articles as we can before the end of the month. Keep writing and keep reviewing! Also, don't forget about the current CT on Databank entries in the "Sources" section, as many articles will have to be updated to meet the new criteria. I thank all of you for taking part in this project and working to make the site better for the release of The Phantom Menace in 3-D in February, and I'm confident the results will be satisfactory. Anyway, just keep...doing what you're doing. :P MasterFredCommerce Guild(Whatever) 20:25, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

You're totally correct! For the appearance/source list, I think that if an item is found in the codex only, we should add (Codex only) to the Star Wars: The Old Republic entry on the list. For other items though, we have {{TORCite}}. This way, we can specify in the Notes and refs where in the game each item is encountered. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 23:27, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • Intimidated is putting it lightly. For a while I was making notes and taking down the names and descriptions of each NPC I encountered, but I couldn't do it for long. It's overwhelming. But since you're playing... would you like to join Wookieeproject: The Old Republic. I could certainly use the help! Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 01:06, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Behind the Magic Edit

Hello Bob, it is my understanding you have Star Wars: Behind the Magic? If so, can you tell me if Vul Tazaene is at all pictured in that source? He is a bald guy in Jabba's Palace and on the Khetanna. Also, perhaps also Janse, a gray haired Commando seen at the Rebel briefing on Home One? Thanks in advance. Hanzo Hasashi 06:04, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey, Hanzo. I do have the software, but I don't have a computer that can run it at the moment. It requires Windows XP, and I just upgraded to Windows 7, which can't run it. I'll let you know if I figure something out, but in the meantime, you might want to ask someone else. Sorry! ~SavageBOB sig 14:24, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • Have you tried using the troubleshoot compatibility feature in Windows 7? :) Cheers, grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 14:43, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • Actually, even better. I've got a Mac, and the software seems to run fine under the CrossOver/Wine system. I'll try to check for Vul and Janse later today. ~SavageBOB sig 15:18, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • OK, both these guys are in BTM. Vul gets a little shout-out description, but there's no new info. Janse is just visible in the background of the briefing scenes, with no info at all. ~SavageBOB sig 17:08, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
        • Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 17:18, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
          • Hi Bob, another request: can you also look for Janse in Star Wars: Chronicles? And, if you have The Complete Star Wars Trilogy Scrapbook, can you look there too? Again, thanks in advance. Hanzo Hasashi 05:07, January 5, 2012 (UTC)
            • He is in the scrapbook, so all I am asking for now is Chronicles. Hanzo Hasashi 05:30, January 5, 2012 (UTC)
              • Hey Bob, just a reminder about Chronicles. Hopefully I can get these noms done before my workload truly kicks in. Hanzo Hasashi 21:32, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
                • In response to Vul: is he pictured and/or identified by name? Toprawa asked me this, and wondered if there was enough inclusion for it to be more than (Indirect mention only). I'm assuming he is at least pictured, but without access myself, would just need confirmation. Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 19:40, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
                  • Whoops; thanks for the reminder. Yes, he is pictured and identified. The text is pretty much a repeat of his CCG card. No Vul as far as I can tell in Chronicles. Hope that helps!~SavageBOB sig 19:55, January 16, 2012 (UTC)

NEGTAS for Human Edit

Hey, Bob. I was wondering if you could please stop by my GAN real quick when you get a chance and see if you could take a look at one of GMT's objection. It's about the New Essential Guide to Alien Species, so I was hoping you'd be able to shed some light on it. Thanks.—Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 21:58, January 5, 2012 (UTC)

Re: This one thanks you for your vigilance. Edit

Thanks, I'll toss in his or her carapace color, but I'm leaving that Gand's article creation to you. :P Trak Nar Ramble on 20:27, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • Done. Once Qoussk gets Qoussk's article, Qoussk's profession will be added to the GitG section, along with Qoussk's name. This one is thankful for your vigilance, as this one has asked Culator prior for any Gand sightings. This one requests more Gands so this one can cram ninety Gand's into this one's tiny apartment, just the same as Zuckuss had done with those Rebels and his TARDIS. Minimech CE Edit

How is a direct quote from the game "Behind the scenes"? That is what the game tells you when you receive the droid. --Jaro Ramikad 15:36, January 13, 2012 (UTC)

  • Because Wookieepedia is written from an "in-universe" perspective, from the POV of the Star Wars universe and its inhabitants. For that reason, we relegate all information that pertains to the real world to the "Behind the scenes" section of the article. Plus, we tend not to copy directly from sources. We paraphrase information instead, so we don't violate any copyrights. The information you added wasn't bad, it just needs to be paraphrased and slotted into the right section. Depending on how you phrase it, it could be part of the main article, or behind the scenes. Some of it should probably go in each of those sections. Let me know if you have any other questions. ~SavageBOB sig 22:33, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
    • OK, I've worked on it to make it more comprehensive but what do you think? --Jaro Ramikad 14:11, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
      • So far, so good. If you want to continue working on the article, you could add some text about how the droid looks (the colors, shape, etc.), how it operates (rolls around), its behavior, and its relative size. Take a look at our Good Articles about droids for some inspiration and templates to follow. ~SavageBOB sig 23:21, January 17, 2012 (UTC)

Two things Edit

Hello SavageBob, does Star Wars: Behind the Magic confirm that the Tyrant was an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer? Also, since I am asking for information anyhow, have you been able to look in Star Wars: Chronicles for Janse? Hanzo Hasashi 20:38, January 14, 2012 (UTC)

  • This would be in the ESB scene-by-scene feature, in this picture, or one just like it. There are call-outs for all of the Star Destroyers, and I believe it identifies the Tyrant and its designation as a refitted ISD-I. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:42, January 14, 2012 (UTC)
    • Sure thing. I'll check later today. ~SavageBOB sig 15:43, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
    • Re. Chronicles: There's an image of Janse bending over, chatting with Chewbacca, who's standing directly in front of him, a tier below. It's on p. 256. Everyone's walking around and doing stuff, so it appears to be either just before, or just after, the briefing. Will get to BTM next. ~SavageBOB sig 15:48, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
    • Re. BTM: There is a call-out for the ship, but it doesn't identify what type of Star Destroyer. Here's the full text: "Tyrant. An Imperial Star Destroyer under the command of Captain Lennox and Lieutenant Cabbel. Lennox, who is totally dedicated to his starship and its crew, despises the political maneuvering common among Imperial officers. Cabbel is efficient, ambitious, and ruthless. The Tyrant has been assigned to Darth Vader's Death Squadron." I also checked the glossary, but there is no mention of the Tyrant or its officers. ~SavageBOB sig 23:08, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
      • Thanks for both. As apparently Behind the Magic is not the source confirming it's Imperial I-class, would you know what is the source that does? Hanzo Hasashi 23:10, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
        • Sorry, ships are one of my SW weak points. :( Maybe the Fact File? Good luck, though! ~SavageBOB sig 23:12, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
          • Thanks anyhow. Hanzo Hasashi 23:16, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
            • Bob, it might be worth also checking the scene-by-scene scene(s) in which the Tyrant is shot by the ion cannon. It might say something there. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:27, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
            • Nevermind, just looked through it all myself, and this info isn't in there. Thanks anyway. Toprawa and Ralltiir 01:01, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
              • Yeah, didn't see anything myself either. ~SavageBOB sig 03:24, January 17, 2012 (UTC)

Bounty Hunter Prima Guide Edit

Hey, going by your replies here, I'm assuming you've got access to the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter: Prima's Official Strategy Guide. If so, could you possibly look up to see what info, if any, there is on the Oovo IV supply craft 1729? It only appears in the intro movie for the Oovo IV chapter of the game, so it might even just be an {{Imo}}. Thanks in advance! —NAYAYEN is back! 00:35, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

  • Sure, I can look. What level is that, though? The strategy guide doesn't label the planets the various levels take place on, annoyingly. ~SavageBOB sig 01:58, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
    • Sorry, it's in the movie before the start of The Break In (7th level). —NAYAYEN is back! 02:18, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
      • OK, so there's a screenshot of it (the same one used in the article) and a short summary of its actions during the movie: "A cargo vessel blasts into Oovo IV's gravitational pull, avoiding the ring of smaller asteroids dotted about the vicinity. Supply craft 1729 is cleared for landing, and the prison's shields are opened for a moment to let it descend. The vessel is followed closely by Jaster's Legacy, and it boosts toward its engines while on final approach, staying close with a tractor beam. The supply craft's pilot picks up a ghost image. It is dismissed as a glitch, as is the false biosignature in the cargo hold. The pilot states that the ghost image has disappeared, as Jango peels off from the cargo craft's trajectory and descends into a huge crater. It lands inside the crater, and the shield starts atmospheric repressurization, sealing Jango on the asteroid." Hope that's useful! ~SavageBOB sig 13:25, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
        • Sweet, that's actually a lot of unique info. Thanks! —NAYAYEN 14:03, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

Devlikk Edit

Hi Bob, I have an advance copy of the book, Amazon UK shipped copies earlier this week to everyone that had pre-ordered it. The Devlikks received a mention in the Journal of Sorzus Syn (this is a conjectural name), a part of the Book of Sith that is supposedly written by Sorzus Syn, in which she states Those who are strong with the dark side, like myself, can sense their way, as a Devlikk can sense magnetic north (p.16). In addition a later part of the book is supposedly written by Darth Malgus and while it doesn't mention the Devlikk directly, it outlines two battles that took place on Ord Radama, the Devlikk homeworld, during the Great Galactic War. Basically, during the Battle of Ord Radama (this is not a conjectural title, by the way) Sith forces invaded Ord Radama and besieged and captured Livien Magnus, the capital city (p.51). However, the Republic counter-attacked and drove them off of the world (p.54), and during the fighting a Sith Harrower-class Dreadnaught crashed into and destroyed Livien Magnus, killing a hundred thousand people (p.55). Later, the Sith Emperor orders Malgus to retake Ord Radama (p.61), during what is known as the Reconquest of Ord Radama (p.63), and Malgus attacks the city New Raido, which became the new capital of Ord Radama following the destruction of Livien Magnus. Malgus also notes that the natives have struggled to survive following the destruction of Livien Magnus (p.62). This is more detail than you probably need, but I hope this helps. --Jinzler 19:23, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

  • Per your request, I have edited the above comment, to add in the relevant page numbers. Good luck with writing the article, I look forward to reading it whenever you get around to finishing it. --Jinzler 19:49, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Huttese screenshots Edit

Hi, SavageBob. As you suggested, I added an email adress on my profile. If you do have more screenshots to provide, I'd be glad to study them. I've seen quite a few other inscriptions, but some of them seem to be gibberish. Note it's also the case with aurebesh ; while 90% of the aurebesh inscriptions can be translated, the 10 lats percents are just a bunch of random letters. LelalMekha 13:19, January 24, 2012 (UTC)

Oops, indeed! I'm such an absent-minded, lame Internet user. Nonetheless, I'll wait for you screenshots, then. As Ackmena would say: "Come again, I'll be waiting." LelalMekha 14:48, January 24, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey, AJ! If I don't have the episode I want on DVD from an official release, I usually search at for the episode title with the word droids or Ewoks included in the search too. You can find pretty much all the episodes scattered around various video sharing sites, including YouTube, but many others too. DV-523 Edit

Hello Bob, can you look in BTM for any relevant info about DV-523? I know that, at the very least, he is indirectly mentioned in the script as one of the stormtroopers, do you know if he is also at least pictured in that source? Hanzo Hasashi 23:09, February 13, 2012 (UTC)

  • Interesting. I'll check in the next few days; have a paper looming that I've got to get done first, unfortunately... :/ Stay tuned! ~SavageBOB sig 01:32, February 14, 2012 (UTC)
    • Is he one of the troopers visible when 3PO and R2 run across the hall and there are stormtroopers behind them? Or in the scene where Vader chokes the Rebel leader? If so, he's pictured in the "Scene-by-Scene" feature. Otherwise, it'd be an indirect mention only, since the script describes the lot of those troopers. Hope this helps! ~SavageBOB sig 13:24, February 14, 2012 (UTC)
      • He is visible among the opening wave. At 3:37 in this video is the screenshot that's used for his image. Would you say that he is one of the troopers in the next part? They are impossible to identify. Hanzo Hasashi 14:11, February 14, 2012 (UTC)
        • Yeah, I'd say it's impossible to tell. Just leave it at "Imo" for Behind the Magic, I think. (Too bad the stormies stopped customizing their armor like the clone troopers did. :)) ~SavageBOB sig 14:17, February 14, 2012 (UTC)

Interest in new WPEdit

I've been throwing around the idea of starting a WookieeProject based on Category:Entertainment. I'm asking around to see if there is enough interest to justify starting it. Would you be in any way interested? MasterFredCommerce Guild(Whatever) 17:08, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey, Fred, sounds like a fun idea! Unfortunately, school is keeping my activity here pretty low lately, so I would only ever be able to contribute an odd article here and there, probably not enough to justify signing up. Good luck with the project, though! ~SavageBOB sig 18:01, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

The Old Republic Edit

Hello SavageBob, I see you have updated Gand with the info from The Old Republic. Would you similarly be able to update the too-many other quality articles that I think also need updates from that game? Hanzo Hasashi 22:59, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey, Hanzo. That depends on what they are. I've been keeping an eye out for aliens articles that need updating particularly, since I feel that's a niche I'm more keyed into. But for something like a character article, say, it depends on whether I run into that character during a quest line or something. Some people, like Satele Shan, will be very difficult to update since they cross over into so many different class stories and side quests, and for those types of articles, I won't be much help. Let me know if you have anything in particular in mind, though, and I'll do my best! ~SavageBOB sig 13:46, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
    • Inqmoot 48 has every one of those articles. I remember Rukil and Jace Malcom as two, the latter of which is already another user's work in progress. Hanzo Hasashi 00:23, March 2, 2012 (UTC)

Behind the Magic Edit

Hello Bob, can you check Behind the Magic for several of my older GAs? Here they are: Godherdt, Davod Jon, Dainsom, Hurdiss, Vandolay (quite tricky to identify imo, only seen from the back), Grond (Imperial) (I don't believe so), Midge. Give me any info there is, though it is my assumption they'd just be pictured at best. Hanzo Hasashi 15:54, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • Sure, I'll try to take a look sometime this weekend. ~SavageBOB sig 18:33, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
  • OK, here's what I was able to dig up: Godhardt, Davod Jon, and Grond are most likely pictured. The shot of Vader's shuttle arriving is in the "scene-by-scene" feature, but it's so low-res it's impossible to make out any of the guys standing there to greet him. But if they are in the film, they are almost definitely in this shot too. Midge's left arm is pictured in a couple of shots, but his face is obscured by other people. I'm pretty sure it's him though based on his placement at the far right of the row of commandos, and his seated posture. Hurdiss (as "Hudiss") is mentioned in the scene-by-scene: "Chief Hudiss. A communications specialist who serves as a Comm Chief aboard the Executor. Hudiss coordinates and monitors Star Destroyer fleet movements during tractional situations." I could not spot Dainsom or Vandolay. Hope this helps! ~SavageBOB sig 15:15, March 11, 2012 (UTC)
    • Thanks! Hanzo Hasashi 15:25, March 11, 2012 (UTC)
      • Hey Bob, I have another BTM question. For a while, I automatically assumed that the scripts in BtM and Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays are identical, and are the same ones presented on, but eventually I learned from talking to Toprawa on IRC that not only is that not the case, but they're not 100% identical to each other either. In that case, can you verify if Wallen is also mentioned in the BTM script, because, while I'm almost certain, I don't want to just assume things without confirming them in some way. Toprawa told me, among other things, that this dude is not mentioned in the Annotated ESB script, even though he is mentioned in the Blue Harvest online script. Thanks in advance. Hanzo Hasashi 20:05, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
        • Addendum: I remember last spring that you weren't really good with identifying Imperial characters, Sergeant Wallen is one of the stormtroopers who escort Luke to Vader's shuttle which brought both father and son to the Death Star; the non-canon Blue Harvest script says: "Vader signals to some distant stormtroopers. He and Luke stand staring at one another for a long moment." Hanzo Hasashi 20:09, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
          • So do you need me to check for Wallen too? ~SavageBOB sig 14:24, March 16, 2012 (UTC)
            • Yeah, whatever it has for him and the stormtrooper next to him. My guess is only being pictured and maybe mentioned in the script, as BTM was made before the release of Endor Limited. Hanzo Hasashi 18:58, March 16, 2012 (UTC)
              • I've got a paper due tomorrow, but I'll try to get on this over the weekend! ~SavageBOB sig 23:05, March 22, 2012 (UTC)

Ewoks timeline Edit

Hey Bob,

I think we might have to rethink our timeline for the Ewoks cartoon. I recently learned from GT that Behind the Magic places the live-action films at 3.5 ABY and doesn't mention the cartoons --- and that Leland's post, which we've been using as our date this entire time, is actually in reference to said timeline --- ie, the live-action films, not the cartoon.

It looks like we've been reading his post incorrectly. Do you know of any other source to date the cartoon? If not: The Essential Guide to Characters places the events of the cartoon before the live-action films, so "at some point before[1] 3.5 ABY[2]" might be a good fix, with [1] being the EGTC and [2] being BTM. Let me know what ya think. Menkooroo 07:37, March 10, 2012 (UTC)

  • That's quite possible; the whole 3.5 ABY thing was something I just picked up from others when I started writing Ewoks articles. But are you sure Chee's referring to the movies in the comments you linked to above? It seems we didn't preserve the comment he's referring to, so he could be referring to BTM as justification for the cartoons to be at that timeline placement as well. ~SavageBOB sig 15:18, March 10, 2012 (UTC)
    • Yeah, it sucks that we can't access the post he's quoting. The main reason I doubt he's referring to the cartoon is his line "The 3 ABY dating (technically, it should be 3.5) is from the timeline in Behind the Magic." GT tells me (and you can confirm this if you need to) that the BTM timeline doesn't mention the cartoon at all. Several posts later, someone additionally asks if the cartoon is set before the live-action movies, and mentions a potential date for the cartoon as provided by Wookieepedia. The next post is musing on the cartoon date based on Galaxies. This would seem kinda weird if Leland had already provided a hard date. I would say let's ask Leland on facebook to be sure, but we both know how much fruit that yields these days. Menkooroo 16:29, March 10, 2012 (UTC)
      • OK, so I checked BTM, and it actually has entries for both the TV movies and the cartoon. It places them all at 3.5 to 4 ABY. So I think we're OK? However, I have no idea why we've been citing that date to Leland's post all this time when we could've just cited it to BTM! ~SavageBOB sig 15:17, March 11, 2012 (UTC)
        • Holy crap, that's awesome. Thanks for checking that. I guess the Ewoks had a very busy six months. :D Menkooroo 00:41, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

"Our time has come."
Hello <insert name here>! So, it's been a little over three months since The Old Republic was released, and WookieeProject: The Old Republic, which was founded almost two years ago now, was in dire need of a revamp and update. Participation has slumped, but it's time to get back on the wagon and refocus our efforts. So here are some stats: currently, we have ten Featured Articles, thirty-one Good Articles, and thirty-four Comprehensive Articles. Cal Jedi and Coruscantfan have both been doing great work lately, but we need more users to start undertaking projects from the game and related materials. Comprehensive articles are a great way to get started, so take a leap, pick an article, and get crackin'.

Beyond status articles, there are a few other ways you can help WP: TOR with it's primary goals. Those of you who have a current subscription to the game are welcome to visit our new guild page, where we're setting up in-game groups to help catalogue and confirm information here on Wookieepedia. Aside from that, our article lists can always use expansions. We have some fun new programs and challenges coming to WP:TOR in the future, so take a look at our news and discussion area for updates, and always remember to add any of your new status article successes to the news board.
If you have any questions or comments, head on over to the forums or let me know on my talk page. Take a look around the updated project page, and happy hunting! Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 09:49, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

Lizard Warrior Edit

Hi Bob. In Lizard Warrior, you claim that Dracos is Force-sensitive (in the intro) and that "Admiral Ackbar later assigned Dracos to train with other Force-sensitive recruits under Commander Luke Skywalker and eventually learn how to use the Force to become Jedi." However, I do not think it was ever established that Dracos and that group were all FS. It certainly is not established in CSWE, which you currently source this to. It would be great if you have a source that says otherwise, but if not I think you need to reword this. --Eyrezer 07:51, March 24, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hmm. I just checked both the CSWE and the original comic, and both say that the group of trainees expected to be trained in the Force, and that perhaps Ackbar had that in mind. But Luke says, "If any of you turned out to have talent, and learned anything without learning everything..." So do you think it's unclear that these folks are Force-sensitive? That maybe they hope they're Force-sensitive but don't know how to tell? ~SavageBOB sig 14:52, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
    • To be more precise, there doesn't seem to be an understanding of Force-sensitivity. It is more like magic that anyone can learn using the right words, etc. Kiro is the only one confirmed to be FS as I understand it. That interpretation also clicks more with Luke learning how to detect FS-people later on. --Eyrezer 23:50, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
      • You're right; I've removed the outright assertion that he was Force-sensitive. Nice catch. ~SavageBOB sig 12:13, March 26, 2012 (UTC)

Star Wars: Yoda's Challenge Activity Center Edit

Hey Bob. Do you actually have Star Wars: Yoda's Challenge Activity Center? I gather you must from your screenshot for the two-headed species. Mine was taken from youtube, so thanks for the upgrade. I was interested in the Tiperoo. Any sign that it might be sentient? --Eyrezer 14:43, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I actually do have the game! I'll check on the Tiperoo later today and check. I think it just kind of sits there and sleeps, but maybe it sings too? ~SavageBOB sig 14:51, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
    • Hmm. Since I upgraded my OS, I can't seem to run the game anymore. I'll experiment a bit and get back to you. ~SavageBOB sig 01:07, April 7, 2012 (UTC)
      • OK, so I checked. As far as I can tell, we can't assume sentience or non-sentience. It just kind of sleeps until you input a song, at which point it wakes up the bulb on its head lights up, and it dances as the song is played. I'm not even sure where the name "Tiperoo" comes from. ~SavageBOB sig 14:15, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Scripts Edit

Hey Bob, do you have Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays in addition to Behind the Magic? If so, when you get the time, can you check both of the sources to see if their ESB scripts at all indirectly mention Bachenkall? Back in January I added them to his sources, automatically assuming the scripts were 100% identical to the one on, when in fact they aren't. Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 05:30, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hello Bob, in light of the many recent sources revealing previously unnamed movie extras to be EU characters, could you check BTM and Annotated Screenplays for the other Morseerian who sat next to Danz Borin and Greedo? If any source reveals this is Chall Bekan, I would like to be prepared. I also might consider independently working on this Morseerian. I've talked to Menkooroo, and it appears this character doesn't appear in the adaptations. Hanzo Hasashi 14:06, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Vodran, Kallidahin... Farlstendoiro? Edit

Hello SavageBob. I should start asking if you remember me from the time I nominated species articles here, but I have reasons to believe that you do: I've seen that you've nominated an article that I had expanded in my day, Vodran, and that you are finishing another one, Kallidahin, while at the same time crediting my work! I'm impressed and grateful about this. You've pinpoint most of the alien species works I left unfinished when I departed but, may I suggest you to give a look at another one? Calibop, IMHO, is worthy only a GAN, and it will still require some work, but I made sure to give chapter-specific footnotes. I may have some notes for the Kushibans somewhere in my hard disk and I can look for it if you want to give it a look with aims to expand. Other articles I left unfinished before nomination are not species-related but I think you could enjoy those: Adazian Liebke, Barada, Bren Derlin and a personal favorite, Atlatl. I thought I could share those with you. Before leaving again, let me reiterate that, should you need any clarification or info on a hard-to-find source that I might own such as BtM, feel free to contact me and try your luck; you have my personal e-mail. I still can't re-join the 'pedia as I'd like to, but maybe I can help in other ways. Thanks again for going after the ones that got away from me, Skippy Farlstendoiro 16:39, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

  • Skippy! Nice to hear from you, and thanks for the pointers to other articles that got away. :) I'll definitely take a look at some of those, especially as the summer approaches and I have more time. Calibob in particular looks intriguing, and I've considered doing Kushiban myself. I hope all's well in your world, and please don't hesitate to stop by now and again. We miss your great work! ~SavageBOB sig 16:46, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

G2-3B Edit

I believe I added that because of the mention of the G2 series on p. 27 (according to Daniel Wallace's endnotes). Looking back over it, it's probably not relevant to the G2-3B article. Adamwankenobi 16:33, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

Zzzzyxx x Edit

Hey SavageBob, does Insider 104 mention Zzzzyxx.x? I don't have this issue with me, could you tell me what is says, specifically? Thanks! Cheers. Stake black msg 15:58, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey, Stake, yeah it does mention him. Here's the reference: "The second-story sidewalk deposits guests in the facing Astrozone building. Straight ahead is an animatronic alien security guard, reportedly named Officer Zzzzyxxx. Guests then exit either left to an outdoor staircase which will take them back down to the ground level, or right through an arch that comes out in a restaurant called the Pan Galactic Pizza Port." All this is from p. 56. There's a bunch of info on the Pizza Port too (including the animatronics there), but I think we can agree that's well beyond the scope of the Star Tours ride! :) ~SavageBOB sig 19:26, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
    • Really? Is it made clear that this Pizza Port is not a part of the ride? Anyway, thanks! Stake black msg 00:44, May 2, 2012 (UTC)
      • It's not even clear Zzzyxxx is part of the ride, since he's in another building. I think it's pretty clear the pizza port is separate as well. :) ~SavageBOB sig 02:58, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

The other Captain Rex Edit

I actually explained the Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina thing in the BTS section of the Rex article: "During the ride, Rex says that he's 'always wanted to do this'. The short story One Last Night in the Mos Eisley Cantina: The Tale of the Wolfman and the Lamproid states that there was a droid audible during the Battle of Endor assault on the second Death Star announcing it had 'always wanted to do this'."

As for The Cinema of George Lucas, on p. 152 it says that Lucas' original idea for Rex was that he was a veteran of the Clone Wars called "Crazy Harry". Adamwankenobi 18:40, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

My GANom Edit

I wanted to thank you personally for your help on this all. I've been on the Wook for five years now, but I hadn't yet really tried to make "proper" articles -- the language barrier is too strong. Thanks for your time, anyway. It still needs more votes, but we've been doing our best, haven't we?--LelalMekha 19:45, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey, it's my pleasure! We're an international community here, so we should all help each other. I'm sure the article will pass soon. And good work! ~SavageBOB sig 19:58, May 2, 2012 (UTC)
    • I'll be quite busy with the exams for a time, but I have several projects here. I intend to nominate "Ambush on Tatooine (Darth Maul)" for GA too, and expand on many things Nightsisters (I already tried to improve the "Talisman of the Raven"). I'd start a Nighstisters Wookieeproject if I had the guts for that, but I'm not a seasoned enough editor.--LelalMekha 20:08, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

SWTOR Guild Recruitment Edit

Hey Bob,

I'm currently in the process of implementing a sitenotice that will hopefully encourage current SWTOR playing Wookieepedians to migrate to our server to join and participate within the guild. I'd like to discuss this, as well as other guild-related issues, in detail with you, Trayus, and Cade. For unknown reasons, I am unable to access my account, so my only form of real time conversation is IRC at this point. Please let me know if/when you will be available for all of us to meet briefly. I am hoping for this weekend, depending on responses from our other guild founders. Thanks,—Tommy 9281 Thursday, May 3, 2012, 00:26 UTC

  • Hey, Tommy, anytime this weekend should be fine for me except for Friday night. I'm supposed to meet up with Eyrezer at that time to discuss WP:ALIENS stuff. Let me know when to log into IRC, and I'll do my best to be there! ~SavageBOB sig 14:02, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

Star Tours timeline Edit

I just wanted to bring up my recent Star Tours articles reverting of edits. Better here then having an edit war. :) While I guess if using the specific terms like "New Republic era" may make us consider that timeframe to start at 5 ABY, the events of the original Star Tours ride take place after the NR was established. The NR begins at 1 month after ROTJ, while the only indication we have for Star Tours' setting suggests it's a couple of months after this. I would suggest maybe changing any Alliance references to "newly-established New Republic" or something like that. Saying that battle involved the Rebel Alliance isn't accurate, since that group does not exist anymore during the battle seen in the ride. --JMM 12:45, May 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • No problem! I've actually been trying to get a firm date on it. While working on RX-24, the impression I got was that the ride takes place almost immediately after the Battle of Endor, but maybe that's incorrect. What sources do we have for dating the ride? I've been able to come up with only a few vague ones:
    • Tom Fitzgerald has stated that "The timeframe is just after Return of the Jedi. Your old friends Artoo-Deetoo and Threepio have new jobs, new masters. The basic premise is that the galaxy is now safe enough from battles and wars that Star Tours is offering sightseeing excursions to Endor, home of the lovable Ewoks." (from Star Wars Insider 104, p. 55)
    • This comment from Leland Chee, that there is no firm date for the ride (at least c. 2008): [1]
    • This note from an Insider 127 article: "A 'StarSpeeder 3000' cabin that fit 40 passengers was supposed to take riders on a trip to the Forest Moon of Endor, but brand new pilot Rex overshot his target and you found yourself in a fierce battle between Rebels and the Empire above the Death Star." (p. 44).
    • From The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia entry on "Star Tours Travel Agency" (Vol. III, p .189): They used the Sanctuary Pipeline, which was decaying even then, so if we have a date for when the Pipeline ceased to be useable, that might help us date the ride.
    • From the entry on "StarSpeeder 3000 (same page): "...the ... rookie pilot ... lost control, maneuvering through an unexpected encounter with an ice comet and the forces of the Empire."
  • Of all these, the closest thing to a date we have is the Insider 127 piece that you meet the Empire and Rebels (not New Republic folks), but maybe we can't take his comments as canon? And the CSWE says you encounter the Empire, not Imperial Remnant, so at least we know that's canon. Thoughts? ~SavageBOB sig 16:35, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • Generally, I think we can't take some of the out-of-universe "PR" kind of comments as completely canon. At the time it was created, only the Rebels and Empire were known by most people. And the Empire is referred to by that name for years in the EU fiction, and wasn't known as the Remnant until years after. Within months of ROTJ, people still called it "the Empire". The other info from the Encyclopedia is based on a Gamer article on Endor and the region. In that, it specified that Star Tours (though not literally named that) started the trip to Endor to try and advantage of the sudden fame of the planet following the Battle of Endor. Also, 3PO has a line in the ride that mentions the Ewoks seeing him as being magic, or whatever, in reference to the movie, while footage from ROTJ plays on the large monitor nearby. So, it definitely happens after ROTJ, and one could argue that it seems unlikely it would happen IMMEDIATELY after, to give a little time for Endor to become famous. And the NR shows up only one month later. --JMM 18:57, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • Granted, Leland Chee's date for the events of the ride are considered questionable even to him, but he gave it a tentative date of 4.3 ABY. So while it hasn't been referred to that specifically in EU fiction, it is the closest thing to official that we can get. To me, I don't really see a reason to ignore that. --JMM 18:57, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • Where is Leland's comment about 4.3 ABY? If he's said that, then case closed (for now). I'd like to link that in the RX-24 article, since this dating thing has been plaguing me on these droid articles. ~SavageBOB sig 19:03, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • He said it in one of his blog entries. There's actually a link to on the Star Tours (real-world) page. Here's the link: Death Star Timeline. It refers to "Death Star III" at the bottom of the list. --JMM 19:15, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • Ah, excellent. Thanks! OK, I'm cool to go with 4.3 ABY then. That would be well past the one-month mark of the formation of the New Republic. Sorry for the confusion! Feel free to revert all my edits changing that if I don't beat you to it. ~SavageBOB sig 19:27, May 4, 2012 (UTC)

Meeting Edit

Hey Bob, is our meeting in 15 minutes or in 2 hours? Time zones suck. Senate Hall, right? Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 18:45, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

  • I haven't heard anything at all. Were we supposed to meet? I think Tommy mentioned IRC, but I never heard when or what day... ~SavageBOB sig 18:46, May 5, 2012 (UTC)
    • Check TOR. The Message of the Day is that the meeting's today at 2:00 PST, at the Senate Hall on the Republic side. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 18:49, May 5, 2012 (UTC)
      • Ah, that would be 5 PM Eastern Time, or 4 PM Central. So in a couple hours. I'll try to make it, but I have plans for this evening, so may not be able to stay long. :/ ~SavageBOB sig 18:55, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

Unidentified New Republic pilot (Red Squadron) Edit

Hey SavageBob. Isn't this guy the same as this guy? Stake black msg 20:33, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

  • D'oh! You're right. They need to be merged. :( I'll do it soon, though not right now, since I have some other stuff to get to. Thanks for pointing that out! ~SavageBOB sig 20:49, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

French RX-24 Edit

Hi Bob, I'm not sure whether you know this already, but EndorExpress claims that the actor who voiced the French-speaking RX-24 at Disneyland Paris was some guy called "Luq Hamet," so this might be worth a mention in the article. --Jinzler 07:04, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

  • If I may interfere, it's backed up by the IMDB and the French Wikipedia. By the way, I do confirm I know this guy -- he's a well-know French voice actor, the French voice of Roger Rabbit and Marty McFly btw. :) LelalMekha 08:27, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
    • Thanks for the pointer! I'll bring it up in the comments of the FAN once I nominate it. There have been disputes in the past over whether IMDB is considered a reliable source by our standards, and EndorExpress is potentially inadmissible as a fan site with lots of fanon on it. But it is good info if others find those sources acceptable in this context. :) ~SavageBOB sig 15:44, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
      • After some further investigation, it seems that this information can also be found on the Disney website, which we could presumably assume is a verifiable source. --Jinzler 16:04, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
        • Ah, beautiful! Thanks, Jinzler! ~SavageBOB sig 16:08, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Morseerian Edit

Hello Bob, seeing you were the original nominator for Morseerian, its BTS says only Nabrun Leids was in ANH, even though there was the other Morseerian too. Please fix. Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 15:08, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yep. I'm on it! As for your question about scripts and so on, neither of the Morseerians is mentioned in the script. Basically, what I would do is look through the BTS of Morseerian and at the sources referred to there. Since those pertain to the behind-the-scenes design of the Morseerians in A New Hope, they would apply to the other Morseerian article too. That means the Databank (since it shows the John Mollo sketch), Cantina Roll-Call (ditto), the Danz Borin CCG card, Star Wars: Chronicles, Star Wars: The Magic of Myth, Star Wars: Behind the Magic, and possibly some of the Insider articles. I can't help on those, but maybe others can check for you? Most of these are just images of Morseerian masks or the concept art for he Morseerians, not images of the actual Morseerian in the cantina. ~SavageBOB sig 17:09, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
    • However would either of the scripts mention the alien patrons. From the Blue Harvest online script: "The murky, moldy den is filled with a startling array of weird and exotic alien creatures and monsters at the long metallic bar." Imo, if either of the scripts say something like that, I would think both Nabrun Leids and the other Morseerian would indirectly count. By the way, can you also answer the question about Bachenkall? Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 18:26, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
      • OK, in that case, all the scripts I have indirectly reference those characters (as does The Art of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope). Can you remind me what you need about Bachenkal? ~SavageBOB sig 19:41, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
        • Just whatever is available about him in either of those sources, and, when it comes to the scripts, if perhaps they mention the controllers in his scene, which I would believe would count as an indirect mention for him. Hanzo Hasashi 20:07, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
