[edit] Help me, administrator, you're my only hope!
Sparqman, help me! I have detected vandalism on the Deena Shan page. I can't do anything about it. It was done by an IP user- no user name. Look on the talk page to see what I had to say. Thank you! Atarumaster88 15:22, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- you can go on the history and revert it like i did Ararumaster Jedi Dude 15:33, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] collecting
Hey Sparq do you collect any starwars items, if so what are theyBobafettH23 01:02, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't collect for the purpose of having, but I do buy things that I like (or in the case of books, want to read). I do have almost a complete set of Kenner action figures thanks to my older siblings, but they are scuffed and scarred from intense childhood play, and only valuable as memories. --SparqMan 14:25, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] DP-20 gunship?
There's been some discussion about the canonicity of this name and I wanted to know where you found the DP-20 part. No-one seems to be able to find it in most sources that detail the Corellian gunship. VT-16 10:07, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hm, I'll have to see if I can find the original source. I want to say it's in a The Last Command related RPG supplement. Empire at War's manual might also have it, but I think it's written as "DP20". Let me do some digging. --SparqMan 20:05, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. :)
- Apparently, no-one can find the name in any source. Including the Thrawn-related books, I think. VT-16 12:01, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- In that case the ship designation should be reverted back to "Corellian gunship", do you agree? -NobodyExpectsTheSpanishInquisition
- Yup. If we find some canon proof, we'll just swap it back in. --SparqMan 17:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll revert my edits then. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

[edit] Home One unlocking
I've found some new quotes and references pertaining to the HO's size (including the shooting script for ROTJ and Leland Chee) so could you please unlock the article? I've tried to contact Jaymach (who locked it months ago) but he hasn't answered in weeks. There's nothing concrete size-wise, but there's enough to at least mention its superior size to other Star Cruisers. VT-16 14:31, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Administrator selection policy
Sparqman, as you are an administrator, you might be interested in a proposed policy change known as Forum:Administrator Voting. It's on consensus track, but I thought it would be better to get more opinions. Atarumaster88

[edit] Forum:Featured Article Reform Proposal
You say that you don't trust the community to pick a reasonable group. I'd just like to point out that it was discussed on IRC who would be reasonable and trusted enough to do the extra work. The voting for the members is just to give it a sense of being democratic. In any case, is there a way we can get you to change your vote? The Inquisitorius won't have that much power when you think about it (the final say will still be up to the community), so what's the hurt in having a select group of users to serve as a "quality buffer" of sorts? Is there another way we could do it that you would support? Cull Tremayne 01:01, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- You already have a "quality buffer" in the form of contributors who volunteer and take an interest in the FA process. I am against unnecessary bureacracy of any sort, particularly here where it serves little other than to elongate the process. — SparqMan Talk 01:51, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- At first, perhaps, but bureacracies have a habit of growing over time. If the process is stagnant, there are certainly other ways to move it forward than to build this cabal. Or perhaps we simply reduce the frequency at which they are rotated. When we first introduced the FA, the intention was to rotate as new articles became ready. I'd rather those 7 people spend any time they'd spend as the "Inquisitorious" improving articles. — SparqMan Talk 02:03, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I suppose that was the point of the institution- to improve and approve Featured Article nominations. I do have a couple of separate questions though: If this fails, would you support some means to remove objections from a user that has A) been addressed and B) has not been present on Wookieepedia for at least two weeks since the objection has been marked as addressed? If yes, what criterion would you use for who/how the objection would be removed? And what do you think should be done with peer review, which is almost defunct? Atarumaster88

- I think objects need to be specific to the point that other observers can determine if they've been handled, so both of those would probably be acceptable. — SparqMan Talk 04:17, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wedge/Tycho quote
Just noticed the Wedge/Tycho quote on your page. If that's legit, it should be nominated for Quote of the Day. You could nominate it and then maybe throw in a few for/against votes on the others. ^_^ P.S. These days just about everything Wedge says gets on the front page. Enochf 20:18, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MoS
Please see the latest discussion at Forum:CT Archive/"The" in front of ship names - another vote: from what most of us have gathered, using "the" in front of the names of naval vessels is only forbidden by some style guides, and is actually allowed by most writers, so we've decided to keep using "the." —Silly Dan (talk) 13:22, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- My error. What a silly vote. Anyhow, this place has become such a hodge podge of discussion areas and voting mechanisms that it's hard to keep track of those things. That should be linked to from the MoS. --SparqMan Talk 02:04, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Resurrecting the Player's Committee article
(Cc: Sikon)
Hello! I was about to write the Player's Committee article to clear up a lot of the redlinks on Star Wars Customizable Card Game when I saw many of the discussions about a former article already being deleted. I want to echo CBenoit's concern from the SWCCG talk page that a recreation of the Player's Committee article will just be deleted again. I understand the arguments that the article doesn't need to be a "staff list", but it should a least explain the organization's history and purpose. Do you think it's safe for us to create this article again? Thank you. - Esjs(Talk) 02:02, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for the short delay. If you can provide a reason of notability for the Player's Committee needing an article, then create it and use the article to explain its relevance to Star Wars. If it has no real notability, then the solution to the redlinks is to edit those articles and remove the Player's Committee references. --SparqMan Talk 18:49, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bot
Hey SparqMan! I'm an editor on Danish Wookieepedia, and I could really need your help. I saw that the bot C-3PO "belongs" to you. In DW we need to set up a bot, some wiki-guy called Dantman has created the family, but now i just can't figure out how to set it up. I have followed the instruction guide but didn't understood it. I would be very happy if you would help. It's easiest to contact me on this page :) - Bakse 22:05, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] E-series protocol droid
Hello, I was taking a look at this article you created and... well these droids seems suspiciously similar to these other ones: E-3PO. I wanted to know (Since I don't have that novel in which they appear) if you think there is any chance they are talking about the same droid model, and if that is so... I should merge them, right? Carlitos Moff 01:21, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- It was made quite some time ago. I suspect they're refering to the same thing...I'd have to scan through Before the Storm again. The E-3P0 would be a model under the E-series though. --SparqMan Talk 17:43, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- If you can let me know what you find on the novel I would graeately appreciate it. I am trying to bring as much order as I can to the Droid articles and merging two articles reffering to the same thing would help a lot to that end. So if you can, take a quick look at the novel and let me know if anything tangible is said there. Tahnks. Carlitos Moff 01:32, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Yevethan Purge
Hi, I saw you've put the Wip tag on Yevethan Purge article—nice choice of project! Just thought (in case you didn't know) that I don't think the Appearances section is complete. I'm sure it's mentioned in Force Heretic II: Refugee and maybe the Agents of Chaos Duology, so there might be more information in there. Good luck! Harrar 17:41, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Mailing list
Hey, SparqMan. I've set up a private administrator mailing list to help coordinate the current administrators of the site, and I am attempting to contact each administrator to get them to subscribe. You can subscribe here. My point with setting up this mailing list to get all of the administrators of Wookieepedia operating on the same page, and in a more unified fashion. Regardless of any personal differences that may exist between some members, I still feel that it is important that we are all operating on the same level, with regards to knowledge of the site, and new/upcoming stuff that is going to happen—so, basically, this is an attempt to coordinate us all in an effort to help keep us on the same page with regards to new policies, new ideas, announcements, discussions, etc. In my opinion, we're all on the same team and this will only help us to be a more organized and cohesive working unit—even more so than we currently are. I've already spoken with a few admins via IRC, and they have liked my point of this whole thing, and have thus signed up—I would really appreciate it you could do likewise :) Any questions about this, you know where you can reach me. Cheers, Greyman
(Talk) 16:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Not sure if you've had time to sign up, but most other admins have subscribed to the list. If you have subscribed, but haven't received a response from me, please email me with the address you want to use, and I will add it manually to the admin mailing list. There have been one or two instances with other admin's email addresses where I've had to do this. Cheers, Greyman

[edit] Question for Ya
The Borosk system page has been deleted by your bot, R2-D2...that's not the problem. What I'm asking is if there's anyway I could see what was tehre before he deleted it, because I wished to create a page for the system, but I'm not sure if it's gonna be any better than what was there already and would like to research a bit before I do anything.--JuiceStain Rock on! 16:08, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- R2-D2 is/was ran by Sikon, but that user has since left the site. From viewing the deleted page(s), the reason it appears to have been deleted is because it had no sources. If you can create article, and provide either sources and/or appearances in which "Borosk system" actually appears in, then it won't be deleted. However, assuming that the planet Borosk is in the Borosk system is original research, and if that's the case then any recreation of it will also be deleted. I hope that helps, Greyman
(Talk) 16:14, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- It does, thank you. I think I'll hold off on the page for now. I was just gonna use information from the planet Borosk to get a basic page down, but that constitutes as original research I guess. Thanks for the help.--JuiceStain Rock on!

[edit] Journal of the Whills
Hello, SparqMan. I'm looking to clean up the article Journal of the Whills, since it needs it, and I want to properly source it. Since you put the information in on the history section as shown here, would you be able to tell me, if you remember, what the source of that information was? Thanks. -Brandon Rhea (talk) 22:04, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
