Welcome, TK-299! Edit

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source.

Do not remove talk page and forum comments, including your own, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! —SFH 17:22, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Edit

Hey, no problem, things like that happen to everybody. And thanks for adding the tags to the Vrannin Vaxx and Zilaash Kuh GAs. :) Jonjedigrandmaster 20px (We seed the stars) 13:36, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

  • No problem, it's good to see that you're interested in making those edits! The first thing I would suggest that you do is read up on the manual of style and the layout guide, two of our most important pages on how to write articles. After you've done that, then go ahead and be bold in your editing. And if you make mistakes (everybody invariably does, at some point); someone will find them and correct them, and you'll learn more about what to do and what not to do in your editing as you go along. Re: Category fix Edit

As opposed to formatting categories as , the template is usually used to alphabetize entries in categories. It sets it so that the name doesn't need to be added to each category field. It's more of a convenience than anything. Trak Nar Ramble on 07:55, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

RE: SH Edit

No problem. In fact, I would encourage you to get involved in the Featured Article process as well. Regular users now have greater impact in the process, as their votes now count for a portion of the overall tally. Of course, user reviews are always welcome on such things, but there's an added incentive there as well. Of course, it's also good to get into the writing side of things. This can be pretty daunting for newer users, but you certainly look like you know what you're doing, so I'd also recommend that you look into that. And I now apologize for giving you the pamphlet rundown when all you wanted to do was thank me, but we're always looking for new writers, and you certainly have the requisite enthusiasm. :) Thefourdotelipsis 13:56, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Voting Edit

While we appreciate your help with voting in various nominations in the GAN page, always remember to adjust the user vote count and the total amount of votes. You should see "(0 ACs/0 Users/0 Total)" above any article that's been nominated. Frequently, I find myself having to adjust the voting amounts after you voted in a nomination page. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers, JangFett (Talk) 07:25, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

  • No worries. I went back and adjusted the voting counts, so everything is fine. Just remember to adjust the user vote and total counts after you add your support vote. :) JangFett (Talk) 07:37, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Re: LOL Edit

I couldn't believe it either! lol I mean, I'm reading this and the only thought that came to my mind was "Really? Really?" And the guy's writing this up like everybody can't really tell that all this "controversy with Lucas" is really his little crush, with her "noticeable breasts" and "kissable mouth". Oh boy... :P

Definitely good for a laugh, though. lol And by all means, help yourself to the userboxes. --Bella'Mia 08:49, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

  • I have read ImpCom and I've actually been meaning to get around to Niner and the other commandos, but I sure won't object to somebody else taking the initiative. I totally agree, Niner's like my second favorite commando, and his page could use some love. You write it up, and I would be happy to read it over. :D Bella'Mia 03:06, June 3, 2010 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the heads up, TK. I probably wouldn't have found out about the Cheravh system for a while if you hadn't dropped that tip my way, and I've actually been wondering about Cheravh ever since reading ImpCom. Much appreciated! :D Bella'Mia 03:30, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Reply Edit

If it is known in which part of the galaxy the system/sector/whatever is located in, there's no need for the main cat (Category:Systems), as Category:Mid Rim systems is already a subcategory of the main one. If the location is not known, then the page should be in the main cat. If you find pages with both the main and the subcat, feel free to remove the main. Hope this explains things. Cheers. -- 1358 (Talk) 12:44, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Reply Edit

Well, I think it looks better without the Star Wars prefix, but the actual page is Star Wars: The Essential Atlas Online Companion while just The Essential Atlas Online Companion redirects to it. So it's best to pipelink it, "The Essential Atlas online companion". Hope that helps. :) -- 1358 (Talk) 09:52, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

244Core Edit

Hey TK-299,

You certainly can create the 244Core system page, so long as you supply the correct sources in which it appears. Hope this helps.Tommy 9281 12:24, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

  • No problem. If you need anything else, just let me know.Tommy 9281 12:36, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

New systems Edit

Is it alright if I continue to link planets to your system pages you are creating?

User:Samjonesthegreat 04:51, June 15, 2010

  • It is perfectly fine with me, like I said I just wanted to source them, but if no source is available for me to use, then no prob. You can continue what you've been doing. I don't see any problems with it at all. If someone doesn't want you to add any more planets, they will probably let you know. Keep up the work! :D TK-299 (Click Here) 20px 11:54, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Hey there. As far as I can tell, the article you created on the Fislan system is our 77,000th. Congrats. --Imperialles 13:04, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Luire system Edit

Redirecting is really simple, what you said was right. Just click on the redlink for the article you want to redirect (in this case, Nyriaan system), and then type #REDIRECT Luire system in the window and save. That's all. Soft redirects you generally don't need to worry about, they're rarely used. Most of the time they're used to redirect something to a page on another site. For example, Star Wars: Galactic Heroes is a soft redirect to the Galactic Heroes page on the Merchandise wiki. Obviously we can't directly redirect pages to another site, so we redirect it to a new page that shows the link to the page on the other site. But like I said, you don't need to worry about those. Just use the above method for all of your redirects within this wiki. Xicer920px(Combadge) 16:36, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Re: LOL Edit

No, problem, it happens man. :) I remember that I have once placed my objections to FANs and GANs in the support section. :P -- 1358 (Talk) 06:01, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Re: QOTD questionEdit

Yeah, I'd put it in the References in Other Media section. It's not a big deal though. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 23:09, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

RE: I see you're from Portland Edit

Well hello! Nice to meet you! I'm not on too often anymore due to college really ramping up. I have a few larger articles planned that I'd be more than willing to accept Some help on with referencing! Thanks :)Calithlin 10:31, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe some help w/my page Edit

  • I was wondering if you might know how to remove the visited pages box from covering up my infobox since you don't seem to have one on your page. Or do you know of a page where I might be able to figure it out? VhettSkirata Mando'ade 01:48, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
  • Nevermind, I got it figured out. Forget I even put this topic up. VhettSkirata Mando'ade 02:14, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Question on Abeloth Edit

You wouldn't happen to have read Abyss, have you? -Master CJ 06:33, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Re: GAN/FAN nom question Edit

Hey. There's no policy on fixing objection to other's nominations, however, the nominators tend to like to fix the things themselves. However, I encourage you to write a good or a comprehensive article—it's pretty fun, and it's not so hard. Just pick and obscure character/other thing that seems interesting, and start writing, having the MoS and the LG in mind. If you need help, or if something is unclear, I am more than happy to assist you. :-) Cheers. -- 1358 (Talk) 13:38, August 15, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Niner's First Mission Edit

Yep, I have Hard Contact, but there's not a whole lot in there about what Niner and his original squad were actually doing on Geonosis. When he says what he would've done if he had the chance to do it over again, he mentions: "He would have held Sev and DD back; he would have sent O-Four west with the E-Web cannon. But he hadn't." Don't know if you can work that in somehow, or not. Also, if you're going into his early life, Niner mentions that he notes that he lost a squad member in training, RC-8028, and he was replaced by one of the others. He also mentions that sending commandos to Geonosis in infantry roles was a "rotten waste", and that they "couldn't perform to maximum effectiveness" as it wasn't suited for special ops.

I could actually e-mail you a Word Doc copy of Hard Contact if you're interested. Found it online and it's got a few minor typos, but it's all there and great for quick text searches and copy-paste quotes. Just hit me back with your e-mail if you're interested. :D Bella'Mia 03:33, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hard Contact's sent. And yeah, I'm cool with any questions you've got. Happy to help any way that I can. We're all newbies at some point, right? Looking forward to seeing Niner finally getting some of the attention he deserves. ;) Bella'Mia 06:25, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

Hey there buddy! I have been recently informed of the new changes being made within you and your family. If there is anything you would like to talk about you know you can always call me and chat. 971-237-7768. I love you man and always have even if I seemed like the wimpy one of the group. The force is with you, always. ~Jodo OutKast~

Hello there! Just thought I'd introduce myself, as we've never met. I'm MasterFred. Also, sorry to hear about the divorce. Hope everything gets better! MasterFred20px(Whatever) 13:53, January 5, 2011 (UTC)

Re: WOTM? Edit

if you don't know anything about the candidates, I would generally recommend to not vote. However, you can check their contributions, and perhaps in that way get more information about them and their contributions.

While it doesn't give you a bad reputation if you don't vote in community discussion, I would definitely encourage you to. Not only do you get to decide what happens here on the Wook, but perhaps more people will notice you and your contributions, in my opinion. While we always welcome "WikiGnomes"—users who quietly make edits without clamouring for attention—the wiki's users appreciate feedback and suggestions in various votes and discussions. Hope this helps. :-) 1358 (Talk) 13:10, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Edit

Thank you for your dedication and attention to detail. When adding the Atlas Online Companion to articles, it is recommended that you use the citation template when listing or referencing it, as currently seen on the Delrakkin page. As for the bullets, to the best of my knowledge without looking deeper we don't have a formal policy on whether to use bullets or not, so to say one way is "correct" is not necessarily appropriate. Still, the vast majority of articles on this wiki use bullets, so I would suggest just sticking with that. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:41, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

  • If I may butt in, I think bullets are the good way to go for two reasons: formatting is uniform and well controlled, also the style (bullet type, no bullet at all, align, all that jazz) can be styled wookieepedia-wide and per-user basis. –Tm_T (Talk) 11:11, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
    • Use bullets, there's no reason not to use them. If someone doesn't like to watch them, he can hide them from himself. Hopefully this is clear enough. (: –Tm_T (Talk) 11:22, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
