General Yavid Edit

After reading your blog, you might want to know of another source where the marauders are seen. Besides of course the battle for endor and the sourcebook, their base can be seen in Star Wars: Galaxies. Adamwankenobi 10:17, 6 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Tusus Comestibles Edit

I just realized it was you who was editing What's the Story?, so I want to make sure I'm not putting words in your mouth; Tusus Comestibles was a reference to Belo Tusus, right? - Lord Hydronium 08:16, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Correct. I was going to mention that anyway when I get around to writing the BTS blog entry.--Valin Kenobi 08:22, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Cool, and thanks for the reference. And congrats on yours getting picked. - Lord Hydronium 08:24, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

some Praji article questions Edit

awesome article--made me gad to be a HS member! I do have some questions about how to put stuff from it onto 'Pedia...

  • 1. Who is Lanius of Ucret? Is Ucret a planet?
  • 2. If Kaikielius was invaded by the Vong, yet the Praji were able to relocate there when Coruscant was vongformed, does that mean the Vong invasion of Kaikielius failed, or what?
  • 3. Where is Zarracina III and why was it so important? Was it near Hutt Space?
  • 4. what is the Omicron Talva Heresy--is Omicron Talva a person or planet?
  • 5. where is Jonsior?
  • 6. do Trantor pigeons live on both Trantor and Coruscant?
  • 7. Is Prekaz a planet? Who is the Golden Emperor? When did he live?
  • 8. Are the quotes necessarily made by people from the time frames they are matched with?
  • 9. Where is Tandis Four?
  • 10. About what time did Chancellor Vaila Pecivas, Jideon Praji, and Tash Metonae live? 4225-60 BBY seems a bit vague!
  • 11. Was Friz the IMMEDIATE predecessor of Kalpana?JustinGann 03:03, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
  • P.S. Kudos on the allusion to the Teya IV Praxeum!

A lot of those things are just random namedrops, but I'll answer what I can:

  • 1. Who is Lanius of Ucret? Is Ucret a planet?

Not necessarily. I wouldn't bother listing it separately, since it could be a planet, location on a planet, the name of an academy or clan, or whatever. I speculate that it's a city or country but who knows.

  • 2. If Kaikielius was invaded by the Vong, yet the Praji were able to relocate there when Coruscant was vongformed, does that mean the Vong invasion of Kaikielius failed, or what?

Not necessarily. The Vong didn't bother to completely terraform all the planets they held--eg, maybe they enslaved the Kaikielii and seeded it with a few organisms they needed for the war effort, but at any rate whatever they did to it was less extensive than the overhaul they gave Coruscant.

  • 3. Where is Zarracina III and why was it so important? Was it near Hutt Space?

It was important because of the stable hyperspace jump point, but beyond that I have no idea on the location.

  • 4. what is the Omicron Talva Heresy--is Omicron Talva a person or planet?

No idea, but probably a person or organization.

  • 5. where is Jonsior?

Somewhere in the vicinity of Kaikielius, Ruan, and Foerost, so either in the Deep Core or on the border of it. It could even be in an established system for all we know. (My own theory is that it was a gas giant, thus explaining why its moons were colonized, but obviously that's neither here nor there.)

  • 6. do Trantor pigeons live on both Trantor and Coruscant?

Yes.

  • 7. Is Prekaz a planet? Who is the Golden Emperor? When did he live?

In order: probably, I have no idea, and I would say a minimum few centuries pre-Clone Wars but no idea beyond that.

  • 8. Are the quotes necessarily made by people from the time frames they are matched with?

Usually but not necessarily unless the person is actually mentioned in the text. The Golden Emperor, for example, is cited twice, 4 millennia apart, so obviously he can't have been around in both.

I wouldn't object to listing Lanius under pre-Republic.

Omicron Talva could have been from any time period.

Since the Teyan Praxeum was founded 4,596 BBY the implication is that Simikarty lived after that but before the reorganizations that occurred sometime after TOTJ/KOTOR.

The Historia Galactica was obviously written sometime after the CW.

  • 9. Where is Tandis Four?

No idea. The planet and its Museum of Light are actually from the MedStar duology and I don't know if there was a cartographic reference there.

  • 10. About what time did Chancellor Vaila Pecivas, Jideon Praji, and Tash Metonae live? 4225-60 BBY seems a bit vague!

It's some time post-Ruusan (http://www.holonetnews.com/49/business/13328_2.html) but I didn't feel the need to nail it down and maybe step on future story possibilities.

  • 11. Was Friz the IMMEDIATE predecessor of Kalpana?

Most assuredly.

James Luceno interviews Edit

Hi Valin Kenobi,

I've been trawling the internet searching for interviews with various Star Wars authors — namely James Luceno — and having seen your name crop up a few times with links to interviews with the man which are, unfortunately, now dead links (i.e. http://boards.theforce.net/authors_artists/b10347/5816906/p5). I was wondering if you stil lhave archived versions of these interviews which you could make available to me, so that I might work on including some of the pertinent info into NJO era articles.

Much obliged,

-- Harrar (Cut the comm chatter) 22:28, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

  • No problem. There was actually only the one interview--I never got around to the followup, unfortunately--but it's still online here: http://www.theclonewarz.net/features/interviews/luceno.htm We let our original domain (CloneWarz.com) lapse briefly but it was long enough that somebody else bought it as a placeholder. For the most part the dead links you might run across should work if you just substitute theclonewarz.net for clonewarz.com at the front of the URL. Good luck!--Valin Kenobi 20:48, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
