[edit] Biography

Ying dies at Draay's Hands.

Ying once hired the Moomo Brothers, but fired them due to their incompetence. He later took up the bounty on Zayne Carrick after the Padawan Massacre of Taris, it was Ying who finally captured him and his group of friends. Though there was also a sizable bounty on Gryph's head, the crimelord was able to negotiate giving the access codes to his Tari warehouses to Ying in exchange let him and the rest of his friends go, settling with the large bounty on Carrick's head. Upon delivering Carrick into the hands of Lucien Draay and the other Jedi Masters, Ying was unwillingly forced to listen to the true account of the deaths of the Padawans. After Ying had heard all of the details, Draay drew his lightsaber and killed the bounty hunter instantly.

[edit] Behind the scenes

"For Valius' design, I suggested to Travel Foreman and Brian Ching that we come up with an alien Tony Soprano—a gangleader who's somewhat full of himself and only later realizes he's in over his head."
John Jackson Miller[src]

Valius may have a connection to the Latin root val-, which is found in many words relating to strength or greatness.
