Vape charges were the Chiss equivalent of the thermal detonator and, similarly to it, it used a baradium charge to destroy its target. They were known to disintegrate anything within its blast radius and left nothing behind as evidence.

Chiss Commandos were known to use vape charges for demolition operations against enemy targets.
