"I have fought the worst of all wars, and witnessed the redemption of evil. I've seen balance restored to the Force. But order can turn to chaos… as it did when I was born. Now, with my loved ones and my loyal allies, I face a new challenge unlike any before. And I'm not sure if this time we can win."
―Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker[2]

The Vector Prime television commercial was released in late 1999 to promote the release of the novel The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime, the first entry in The New Jedi Order series. It featured a narration by Mark Hamill as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, speaking over a montage of scenes from the Original trilogy as The Emperor's Theme played.[1]

The commercial aired on the Sci-Fi Channel and FX beginning on Monday, October 18th, 1999, and it ran several dozens of times over the ensuing weeks to promote the novel, include several spots during prime-time television hours. On FX, the commercial played during syndicated runs of The X-Files and Millennium.[3] An online copy of the commercial was eventually added to the StarWars.com page for viewing and download.[1]

In 2022, Mark Hamill was asked if he remembered doing the voice-over for the commercial on Twitter, along with a link to a remastered version of the commercial. Hamill liked the tweet with the video, responding, "Wow. I have no memory of doing this at all. It's like seeing it for the first time. Thanks for posting, Ackbarfan."[4]
